DarnToothySam replaced LCD in Canon camera for about $70 bucks and they had it back to me in 2 weeks. Full story: I did send an e-mail query first which was not answered, then called; Tom answered, told me the repair price listed on web site was too high, and he was about to lower it by about $30 (huh?). He did. Best Buy said it would cost over $200 to replace and I should just buy a new camera. I guess maybe they can work on their communication, but this is a small business and I for one am willing to cut people slack. I read the negative reviews on sitejabber first–most of which sounded to me like the same psycho posting over and over–and found the MANY positive reviews more persuasive. I was not wrong. Would not hesitate to send my camera in again (if I drop it again!).
Where is my order # 16031, or some information about shipping? Discounted credit card already! Any response on it after two weeks? NOTHING! Only "order received", no more! No e-mail response. This is a joke with the client. Almost no review speak well of you. If they are responsible, waiting a decent answer!
I purchased an LCD screen repair service for a Nikon SLR digital camera on a Friday. On Tuesday I received an e-mail saying they were wainting for my camera to arrive. In less that a month I received an e-mail that my camera had been repaired and shipped. I received it in three days of the e-mail. The camera works as good as new. I am very happy with their service.
Shipped my camera - two weeks later I have it back, fixed. Simple as that. I have recommended that two of my adult children send their cameras to Darn Toothy Sam as well.

Wished I would have found this review site first. ROTTEN company. COMPLETELY rotten. I don't care if you are a "small repair company" and "get a lot of emails." Then you shouldn't be in business, or you should staff up.
I ordered the wrong part. Within a few hrs I realized I ordered for a 5100 and I have a 5000. Tried to send several emails, but they kept bouncing (full mail box) however one did get through. Called at least two dozen times, left one voice msg but I doubt they listen to.

I order an OEM LCD replacement for my Kodak Easyshare V1003 last March 25. On that same day he sent an email about my order confirmation, but it doesn't tell the information about the date of the shipment. I tried to call them several times but a voicemail will answer the call saying that he is too busy to answer the phone. I also tried two send an email twice but it was returned as a returned mail. My card was already been charged ($36.77). Its been more than a week Mr. Thomas and I haven't heard anything from you. My invoice number is 9782.
I had a good experiance with this site. I ordered my Canon PowerShot SX230 camera from Darntoothysam. The price was good and my order was delivered in time. I also would like to mention their very friendly customer service.
Just used Darntoothysam to repair the flash on my camera. The repair turned out to be more complicated than just the flash, but Thomas honored his original commitment and did a wonderful job with the camera and communicating during the process. It is rare to run into such great service and honorable folks. I couldn't recommend Darntoothysam's service more highly! Thanks much and I'll be back next time I need camera help.

I ordered a new LCD screen for my Canon S80 powershot from the website a while ago. Living in Canada, I expeceted somewhat of a wait for my screen. I found the ordering process very easy in the website. It took longer to receive my part than what I thought it would. After inquiring about it with Thomas, I was assured that it was in the mail. I found the customer service by Thomas to be excellent and my part arrived this past Friday. It took roughly a month or more from the time i ordered to receive it, and it was "as promised" in every regard. For those of you still waiting, be patient, your part will arrive. I think I received excellent value and customer service from darntoothysam and would be happy to order from them again when the need arises.

I ordered a replacement LCD screen for my 5D Mk II on 11/05/2010 and although I received an e-mail acknowledging receipt of my order (No. *******) my order was never shipped. I called several times but was not able to speak to anyone, nor was any explanation for the delay in shipment available on the website. I have received no response to my e-mails requesting cancellation of my order. Because of the absence of any explanation concerning the shipment and the failure to cancel my order, I suspect that I have been scammed by this website. Diane Swift
Hi Diane sorry about the problems with your order but I have already cancelled and refunded it for you. By the way, you purchased the window for the LCD, not the LCD itself it's about a $100 difference between the two parts.
We are a small shop; I answer the phone myself all day long Mon-Fri, so if you get voicemail or busy signal I'm on the phone with somebody else. I have one person helping me with emails, we get 50+ per day so it' s hard to keep up and I can't afford to pay somebody full time to do them at the prices I charge. I do now see that you sent two emails about 5 minutes asking for a refund.
Your part was on backorder and I would have been able to ship it tomorrow and would have sent you automatic emails at that time as well. We are working on getting better at keeping customers informed if their parts are on backorder.

When I needed my camera repaored I sent it to Darnthoothysam. I had nothing but a great experience. Great customer service, great communication, and speedy results. Could not have asked for better service.
Although the service on my camera did take quite a while, I did get responses to my emails and I did receive my camera back in great working order. I had the LCD screen replaced and it is working wonderfully. Thnaks Darn Toothy for the great price on this service.
I sent in my daughters camera about a month ago, because she had dropped it and the lens wouldn't go back in. They told me they could fix it for about $55.00. I sent the camera to them, and they sent it back within a few weeks---and it works PERFECT :) Ihad a great experience with DarnToothySam, and would recommend them to anyone looking for good camera repair. I don't know if all the others are from one person or not, but I sent him my Canon G10 after I broke the cover over the rear LCD screen. He replaced it, kept me updated via email, and returned it within a reasonable time. I live in the same metro area, and he was willing to have me save shipping if I wanted to drop it off, but the time to drive over from where I live wasn't worth it, so I shipped it. He answered his phone when I called, his repair was great, and I'd use him again.
This company is the best that I've ever dealt with! The "take picture" button on my camera broke, and I found this company on the internet when looking for someone to fix it. After taking my camera to Best Buy and having the geek squad further damge it, I decided to give them a try. They fixed my camera so it was good as new and had it back to me within a week, and for only $25! (Cost of part, shipping, and labor all included.) Thomas Drayton, the owner was friendly, and professional. I was very happy! I would highly recomend this company to anyone needing any parts or repairs to their camera! This company is a completely rotten. I sent them my camera and didn't hear anything for weeks. I called to see if they had received it and the guy couldn't answer the question. More time passed and I sent multiple emails asking where my camera was and why it hadn't been returned to me. I got it back months after I sent it in and it was STILL BROKEN. They had replaced the lens but messed up the rest of the camera. Sent it back to them again because they said they'd fix it again for free. That was in September. It's now January and they've never called me back. I called again today and he said it still wasn't fixed... rotten company all around.
We did not 'mess up' the rest of the camera. You sent it back and we repaired it once again and sent it back to you in good working order.
Right now I cannot make a positive recommendation based on my experience. I have ready many negative and positive reviews so I am not claiming fraud or anything like that however I am increasingly suspicious as nobody had returned any of my 5 emails or separate voice mail and all I want is my part or some type of status! I ordered a Canon EOS 20D Camera CF Card Reader Pins Repair Part so I could repair a camera as a gift for someone who cant otherwise get one right now and it was supposed to be for a gift this month. I ordered it on March 29th and not only do I not have the part but nobody will even acknowledge I am a customer. At this point I either want my part, or a refund. If neither I will turn to pay-pal to dispute and reverse the payment. Ive tried to be patient and fair but I don't appreciate being ignored. Especially the first time I have ordered!

I sent my camera for repair 5/5/12. My credit card was charged 5/7/12. After 3 phone calls and a dozen emails with no response what-so-ever, I filed a complaint with Better Business and, guess what? He finally responds and says he will ship my camera back to me, even though it has not been repaired. That's fine, I want it back. I've been waiting an additional 2 1/2 weeks and he's back to ignoring calls and emails. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!
I read through the first page of reviews on this site and was astonished. But I think I understand your problem. Too much work. Your kind of like a middle man. You look like you order parts when you get the cameras or orders, causing many delays with your customers. I'm writing this review in the hope you will respond as you seem to respond more to these bad reviews than to your emails. I have an order #******* and Would like to have my parts shipped to me but I'm guessing that you either haven't read the email with the order yet, ordered the part not in your stock and its taking several weeks/months to receive, or put it on the back burner as you have many other reviews to contest against. Either way It sounds like you have completed some orders/repairs so I am willing to wait a little while longer for some type of response. Note that I don't check this site, so you would have to respond to me by email (how? Check your emails for the order number mentioned). If I don't receive a reply or the parts in a few more weeks I will have to call my credit card to action a return of funds. Which I will advise them to not do further business with your company. So you see all your problems will be solved if you start doing what we call customer service. I do know about this as I work in a service desk (taking calls and fixing problems). Yes, there can be delays with our repairs, and if I have talked with you as it seems I have, I have apologized to you for it.
I don't know who you are or what your camera is, so I don't know what the status of your repair is. The reason there can be delays is that we don't charge $175 for a $75 repair. People say "Oh I'd rather just pay $175 instead", but that's not true, you wouldn't have if we charged that much.
I have never stolen anything from anyone, and I don't make excuses about parts; I explain to the customer the status of their repair when they ask what it is. If I knew who you were I could tell you what your status is as well.

While I also had issues with the ten weeks it took to get my camera back, I understand this is a small business and I WAS shopping for price. They fixed my Sony camera shutter button and it works great, I would use them again, but this time I would not be expecting my camera back in a week!

I just want to know the status of my very simple order. Darntoothysam does not answer there messages either by phone or by email. If they are that busy then they need to hire someone to take care of responding back to customers. I run a small business too and I am a hell of a lot more professional and organized. Right now I need that part that I ordered as fast as possible because my cameras are my business. I'm screwed without them. Didn't take them long to charge my card. The least they can do is drop the part in a box and have the shipping company pick it up and send it to me. I am definitely not happy with this company. My name is Chris, and I am most certainly a real person. I've been seeing Thomas' comments calling people liars and not being real people. People don't find a random website and just start making up complaints for no reason. I want either my part that I ordered or my money back. And don't tell me that it's back ordered. I already know it's not because after reading all these reviews, it was apparent to me that I had to hurry up and order the part from another company and have them overnight it (Like 10 minutes ago) because it's clear to me that Darntoothysam isn't going to get it to me anytime soon. And if Thomas is seeing this, my order # is *******. And as far as not being able to hire someone to answer your calls and emails, it's clear you don't know how to run a business.
No issues with the service or quality of repair. The digital camera works great and I could not be happier, however, they need to be more responsive to emails requesting information on repair status.
