DarnToothySam replaced LCD in Canon camera for about $70 bucks and they had it back to me in 2 weeks. Full story: I did send an e-mail query first which was not answered, then called; Tom answered, told me the repair price listed on web site was too high, and he was about to lower it by about $30 (huh?). He did. Best Buy said it would cost over $200 to replace and I should just buy a new camera. I guess maybe they can work on their communication, but this is a small business and I for one am willing to cut people slack. I read the negative reviews on sitejabber first–most of which sounded to me like the same psycho posting over and over–and found the MANY positive reviews more persuasive. I was not wrong. Would not hesitate to send my camera in again (if I drop it again!).
Where is my order # 16031, or some information about shipping? Discounted credit card already! Any response on it after two weeks? NOTHING! Only "order received", no more! No e-mail response. This is a joke with the client. Almost no review speak well of you. If they are responsible, waiting a decent answer!
The only site I could find the replacement part for my Canon Video Camera. They even specially ordered the part from Asia. Great site to order from.
Ordered a replacement part. Shipping was reasonable, price was reasonable. Over all I was satisfied with the experience.
Okay I just read darntoothysams blog and the owner is telling everybody that fake people are complaining about fake transactions, Well I am a real person with a real order that I have not recieved yet or I don't know if I will ever receive it because all of the emails I have sent have not been responded to. I have sent about 5 emails since I ordered my product On June 26th 2011. I expected my package in 3-5 business days as I payed for expedited shipping and still have not received NOTHING. Not even an email saying that they shipped it. I have a receipt with an order #, but what good is that if no one at DarnToothySam answers me. If something happened to my order, at least have the professionalism to email me back. This company has great products but expect not to get your product or a warming response from Thomas Drayton. I have even called on several occasions and I always get the same message saying that Thomas Drayton is taking other calls. If you read this "Thomas Drayton" please note that I have already filed a complaint with the IC3 so you should be receiving something from them as well as my local fraudulant authorities. Oh and in case you want to FINALLY email me with a "Professional Excuse" my email is *******@yahoo.com
My experience was similar to several of those above. Told (by- e-mail) it would take a day or two to service my camera. Once they had my camera and my pre-paid order, I could not get them to respond to me at all. I e-mailed, and they ignored it. (Funny, when they were trying to get my business they e-mailed back right away.) I called the local number and the recording says they are too busy to return phone calls, so send an e-mail. (I left a message anyway and sent more e-mails, still no response.) I called the toll free number and the voice message from the owner says he responds personally to all messages. (I left another message. He did not respond.) Finally, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and the company responded to them. Two months after I sent my camera in for the one or two day repair, I got it back. And it wasn't fixed. More e-mails that were ignored. I had to involve the Better Business Bureau a second time to try to get an explanation for why it wasn't fixed and to get a refund of my money. Their response was not to offer any explanation, justification or apology for their dreadful customer service or failure to fix my camera. Instead, they refunded my money, "suggested" I was lying about their failure to fix the camera and wondered why I didn't just drive to their facility when they ignored my repeated communications? As if that is an acceptable response for any business, much less a web-based business looking for customers nationally to send them their property.
So, my advice would be to avoid these people like the plague unless you like to be lied to, ignored and have your time wasted. If you decide to ignore my advice, please save this website address (www.minnesota.bbb.org). It's the local Better Business Bureau. You'll probably need their help to get these folks to respond to you once they have your camera and your money.
I apologized to you that your camera had been set aside and forgotten. As soon as I was reminded of it we did the CCD cleaning that day and mailed the camera back to you the next day.
You live 10 miles from our location, if you had been dealing with ANY other business, would you have not driven to their location to speak with them in person?
We cleaned your CCD, sent you the camera back, and then refunded your money.

I ordered the parts for my camera, they arrived in a resonable time and I placed them on my camera and now all is well
This man was rather untruthful to us. He was also unreliable. We sent him a G9 some time ago and he never fixed it as he claimed he would for under $100 His story was that it need a computer board that was too expensive for him to do it for that price. We had a screw that dislodged somewhere in the camera and short circuited the power. So even though he advertised to fix it for his price, in the end he did not. We couldn't even get him to send it back because he doesn't answer his phone when we call during the day. He eventually said he'd return it and that took months to happen. So we didn't pay and we got back the camera many months later. I found a place locally that fixes cameras and the guy that runs it has had his place for thirty years plus. He works on all makes and models and actually knows what he's doing unlike Thomas. I dropped my camera off on wednesday and I got a call today that they already looked at it and I should go in so I did. They showed me what Thomas did to my camera, it was ruined and they will not even work on it now. They showed me three parts that were switched and from another camera. A forth part has corrosion all over it which they said was from exposure to liquid. My camera has never been exposed to liquid and the funny thing was that none of any of the other parts had been exposed to liquid, just that one part. The guy said this was impossible to happen and said that this Thomas guy probably had something to do with it. Four major parts are now needed for my camera and a fifth needs to be fixed because the circuit board is scratched and damaged from what the technician believes was a screwdriver. Screw are missing everywhere in the camera and the technician said he handled parts of the inside of the camera that should only be touched with gloves. My new estimate is now $455 and he won't even work on it because of how bad Thomas destroyed the thing. I'm contacting my attorney, I read of another camera he hacked on someone. I don't know how else to say this, do nit send any camera to him since he clearly has no idea what is doing. I will be contacting my attorney.
William: I'm sorry you're not happy with your repair, but allow me to clarify a few things.
1- The "Canon G9 no power repair" listing is to have us replace the "DC/DC" board and find the screws that have fallen out and shorted out the camera. We did that, and the camera still would not power; that means the mainboard needs to be replaced. The difference between the two boards is $100, and the mainboard is not covered in the repair package you purchased.
It's like taking your car to the shop and paying them to do the brakes, then expecting them to replace your tires as well for the same price. Doesn't make sense.
2- WE DID NOT DO anything you say we did to damage your camera! We did not "switch" parts from your camera, we did not damage any parts of your camera, and we did not "expose to liquid" any parts of your camera. My Canon tech has been with me 6 years and is METICULOUS, he would never damage an internal component, and we would never "switch" any of your internal parts.
We did not destroy your camera, and we did not "hack" any other cameras either. Your comments are libelous, defamatory and completely untrue.
William has NOT had any attorney contact me, and I'm sure never will because we did nothing to him other than return his defective camera and money in full.

Here's a chronology dealing with this company (person). Hopefully, someone will read this & avoid my horrible experience. Deal with this guy at your own peril.
7/30/12: purchased repair for broken camera LCD screen [via AMEX] from DarnToothySam via website & received a repair form & ID #.
7/31/12: shipped my camera to DTS via UPS insured [$500 value].
8/3/12: DTS acknowledged receipt of camera via email [status "awaiting repair"]
8/30/12: received monthly statement from AMEX noting charge from DTS dated 7/30/12
8/3 thru 9/20/12: tried many times to find out status of my repair via phone calls or email, with no response from DTS.
9/20/12: sent a certified letter to DTS requesting status of camera.
9/26/12: researched (belatedly) user reviews & blogs relating to DTS service issues.
9/26/12: contacted & reported a complaint to the Better Business Bureau [www.minnesota.bbb.org]
9/26/12: contacted AMEX to report a disputed charge
9/27/12: contacted local Burnsville police department [*******600]. Officer was very aware of DTS & said he would send someone out to investigate my issue.
9/27/12: received confirmation from AMEX & BBB regarding my claims.
9/28/12: received 3 emails from DTS: 2 re. Order has been shipped via USPS Priority & an order refund.
10/1/12: received non-repaired camera from DTS. THE BOX I SHIPPED NOT EVEN OPENED.
Epilogue:
Found a local New York City repair shop. Brought them the camera on 10/1, it was repaired perfectly on 10/4 for $25.00 less than DTS's charge.
Moral: Don't send valuables via internet until you have researched & read reviews, Plus I am an idiot who has learned his lesson.
Whew:
It is totally fraudulent, stay away from this site I already report it to PayPal and will continue to report it until it closes...
"Maurice" please tell me your full name and order number, I would be happy to help you if you are a real customer. We have NEVER sold anything to anyone named "Maurice E." If you had a problem and filed a Paypal dispute, then we either got you the part you purchased or a refund in full; you lost nothing. However, I don't believe you are a real person and we will never see another comment from you which only goes to confirm you are fake and just spamming bad reviews about us.
I agree with everyone else who says this place is a rip off. DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, SEND YOUR CAMERA TO THIS PLACE TO BE REPAIRED. RIP-OFF, do no stand behind their service and won't communicate! They will break your camera and you'll be worse off than when you started. I guess I am lucky to even have gotten my camera back, after reading above.
As a small business owner myself, I found DTS on line and sent my camera there for repair, in an effort to support another small business owner.
I sent my camera in and pre-paid, as directed, to have my shutter button repaired. It had broken and DTS advertised a lifetime guarantee on their repair. Got the camera back in a reasonable amount of time with the button fixed. However, the zoom, which worked fine when I mailed the camera in, did not work. I tried to call DTS, but, of course, got the voice mail that said we are too busy to answer your phone call, so send us an e-mail. Sent an e-mail and described what had happened. Got an apology e-mail that send said the camera back and we will fix it. At this point, I was understanding that an error was made when the camera was fixed and was fine with DTS, as long as they fixed my camera. Of course, I had to send the camera back again, AT MY EXPENSE. No offer of paying for that. Got camera back again in a reasonable amount of time with the zoom fixed. However, this time the FLASH, which was fine when sent in, was broken! Needless to say, I had no confidence left in this company and sent an e-mail asking that they refund my money. Have not heard anything from them in a month and, of course, no refund, not that I expected anything. So, I spent $70 and my camera is still broken. I am in the process of working with my credit card company to get my money back. Wish I had read these reviews before sending my camera here in the first place.
Again I say, DO NOT USE!
Julie; I'm sorry you're so unhappy with our service. What exactly is 'broken' with your flash? We did nothing at any time to rip you off.
At no time have we ever stolen anything from anyone so I don't appreciate your "I am lucky to have gotten my camera back" comment, it's uncalled for. There are so many fake reviews of us on this website it's disgusting.
Out of the 15,000 cameras we have repaired here, there have been a few problems, but we always work with the customer to resolve them as long as they are willing to work with us as well.

The lens barrier (lens flap) broke on my Canon SD870IS so I searched on YouTube to see how difficult it was to repair. Turned out it was pretty easy to do so I decided to repair it myself. I searched on the web for the part(s) and the first site I came across was DarnToothySam.com. They sold it as a kit and had everything I needed at a great price. I searched again to compare prices and couldn't find this anywhere else on the web so I ordered it from DTS. My order was placed on 10/16/11 and because I failed to register BEFORE I placed the order I couldn't track its progress (my fault). I was in no rush anyway because the camera still worked fine it just did not have any lens protection. I figured I'd call them in a week or two. Then I saw all the bad reviews on Sitejabber and thought what did I get myself into? So I did my own extensive research on this company and came to the conclusion that most of the bad reviews were total BS. On 10/27/11, I decided to call them and got an answering machine. I immediately called a second number and Tom answered the phone. I inquired about my order and he found it right away. This is a repair kit he himself puts together and can't find anywhere else on the web. He also confirmed that because I didn't register before placing the order, my account and order # weren't linked together. We had a very nice conversation and said my order will ship out that day. About an hour later I received two emails from him, one for order status change and one for shipping confirmation. Received my item two days later on 10/29/11. Minnesota to New Jersey in two days! Not bad. So, is DarnToothySam.com scamming people? In my opinion, ABSOLUTELY NOT! Would I recommend them? YES! Would I do business with them again? ABSOLUTELY!
Thank you Steve, and sorry about the delay with your parts. Hopefully you got them installed alright and the camera is working great.
I had sent my Sony DSLR in for repairs for a cracked LCD screen. I chose this company because they had it in black and white on their website that your cameras will be returned 7-10 business days. With a trip to the coast only 3 weeks away, i was confident that this was the best option for me and my situation. I sent my camera to them on the 16th of September. On the 19th I received notification via email that the camera was received and was awaiting repair. With no more updates, i sent an email on the 24th just to check on the progress. By Monday, I had still not received a response so I spent the day calling both their toll free number and the local number to try and reach someone, along with several other emails with "URGENT" in the title. Finally by the 27th I was able to reach Thomas through their local number after calling 17 times in a 24 hour period. He checked my order # and said the part had been received the day prior and it was to be fixed that day. I didn't trust that it would get to my doorstep in time for our vacation so I requested he overnight and bill me the difference (I had hoped that after explaining and apologizing for the trouble contacting them, he would cover that charge but he didn't offer). I got an email later that night saying it had been fixed and another 30 minutes later saying it had been shipped. It showed up on my doorstep this afternoon in perfect working condition. I am pleased with the SERVICES but not customer service. My only suggestion is that if they are having this many complaints from people not being able to reach them regarding their cameras (which are typically very expensive and some may use for their own business) they need to think about hiring someone to sit at the computer JUST to answer any emails or return calls to their customers. I don't think people would mind the time it takes them to do the repairs, if they were at least able to get some answers and reassurance that there are people there doing what they say they're doing. Hopefully, I can keep my camera out of trouble and won't need any service done to it in the near future, but if I should need something done, I can't say I wouldn't do business with this company again- as long as I'm not in a hurry.
Thomas, my son is nine and he dropped his mothers camera on the tile floor and you promised to fixed it. Remember you said no problem. Well my son saved his money from his birthday and we together sent it to you. I was trying to teach him a lesson of being responsible (hmmm). NOTHING CAME BACK, NOT EVEN MY NINE YEAR OLDS MONEY!
You say you are setting up an email address to deal with all of the complaints. Why the need, why don't you just respond to your emails already and answer your phone? YOU GOT CAUGHT and now you are trying to fix it while you continue to scam more and more victims as we'll call them.
What you should do is this. Temporarily take down your site and put a note that you are fulfilling the existing orders but you can't handle new orders at this time. When you get caught up, then you open your store again and you tell people the truth of how long it will take and don't steal. Give them the service they pay for, it's that simple.
If you don't do this, then you are without a doubt a real scam operation in my mind and I'm sure everybody elses, no doubt at all. In fact, if you don't do that which is what's right, I will then expose you everywhere on the net and have as many people report you who you have stolen from. You can not keep your business open and take peoples money for a service that you can not complete. I don't know if you have a family but this will end with you going to prison as someone has already pointed out.
So do what's right, if you sold these peoples cameras and my wifes camera included, then replace it or pay us back the value. In the meantime, do the right thing and close your site with a message of what you are doing to catch up. If not, I will assume you are a scam and nothing more, right now I am trying to give you the benefit of the doubt although it's hard to even do that with everyone who was defrauded by you. I'm torn between whether you are a scam or not but this will say for sure. Also, post your friend who you said has cancer so people can verify that is true or a lie. That really doesn't sound too believable, you must admit. This was my wifes camera and the money that my son paid to have it fixed. I don't even care about the camera or the money anymore, the camera was already replaced for her since you've had it now 5 months (or you sold it as many suggest you do).
Do the right thing, if not I will start gathering the victims from the web and have them get law enforcment involved from every which way. You know what you are doing is wrong, time to do what is right.
I had a good experience. Ordered a part for a Canon camera and received it in just a few days.
Thank you for taking the time to let others know Kari, we appreciate it.
Thomas
I believe I found your order, #11273? We finally got stock and will get your LCD shipped out right away.
Good site. Ordered battery Door. Got it in within a week.
Thank you Justin, we appreciate your time and hope you got your camera up and running again easily.
I ordered a replacement focusing screen - no problems, cheaper than other sites.
Affordable digital camera parts and - http://t.co/dDcXnKrwWs
Jerry, there are plenty of fake reviews that Sitejabber has removed from our profile. If a customer has a legitimate complaint then we deserve a bad review. Problem is, you never hear from our THOUSANDS of happy customers, just the unhappy few.
One of my repair techs, Alex, answers emails from the sales address. I will make sure I start helping answer those emails as he obviously can't keep up with them all. We are a small shop, I can't afford to have a call center in India answer the phones, I answer all calls myself as best I can.
I found your order information by searching for "Jerry". Your LCD screen didn't get ordered, sorry. I will have a Sony order processed on Friday and your LCD will be here Mon or Tues and we will ship it out to you that same day.
You may report us to any authorities you like, we have never done anything wrong to anyone and have never had any problems with any "authorities" of any kind.
