They sent the wrong item and asked me to ship it back. I didnt trust them enough to return the item without tracking so i paid 4 times what it cost to ship without... just so i could have protection against being scammed. It gave me tracking and delivery confirmation. This way they couldnt say they didnt get it. Right? WRONG! They were supposed to refund me for shipping fees as well. This was something I was told before i even returned their item. Well, i never got the item i ordered, and i never got my money back... and even though tracking showed the item i returned as delivered, this place kept saying the item i returned never arrived. They asked me for pictures of the shipping receipt, which i sent different ways, multiple times and i was either ignored or asked to resend pic because they didnt get the pictures... i even included the image in the body of the email. Not as an attachment. Of course that email was never received. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PPL. They are dishonest scammers who have no problem keeping your money when they made a mistake. This went on for months... around and around again - I asked if they located the return, they said no and asked for pics of the shipping receipt. I waited a couple of days and asked them if they got the pictures, and they said no. And around and around... After months of getting played by them, i gave up and reported them to the better business bureau. I would rather pay more for something - and i have- than do business here again. I dont normally leave reviews like this because no other company i deal with treats their customers this way. So, Please! Save your hard earned money, or spend it somewhere else. Anywhere but here!
If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm beyond disappointed with this service and should've read reviews for it before hand. I came to this site after being referred by multiple articles, etc. I was trying to sell my old Xbox along with an EXTRA controller and games. I packed up everything into 2 separate boxes which they said was fine then sent it on its way. Immediately I got hit with the "xbox is missing controller" thus decreasing my Xbox value by $30. I reached out, got hit with the worst customer service ever and told to accept their "revised" prices and they'd send an additional for the missing item. I then did that, that's when I thought I was getting shorted and scammed like similar people have said in their reviews. I continued going back and forth with them stating how could they have missed a controller when they literally gave me credit for the games that were in the same box I sent. Now here's the fun part, after reaching out probably 5 additional times they admitted there was another controller and would send me my missing payment. They sent me $9 for the missing controller. Which is the price when selling a controller. Instead of correcting the whole issue in the first place and valuing my Xbox correctly. This pissed me right off cause how are you gonna admit to shorting me and then create another problem and having the audacity to pay me for the additional controller rather than paying me the correct value of my Xbox with said controller. I of course wanted to swear horrible things on these people at this point so I reached out 3 more times and had to go as far as threatening to go to the BBB if it wasn't resolved. Finally after fighting for 2 weeks I got my missing money. So happy ending to a really annoying story. Seriously don't bother with these people. Their customer service might as well be illeterate unpaid highschool interns along with a warehouse full of blind workers
HOW is this possibly REFURBISHED and checked out? It's FILTHY! I haven't plugged it in yet as it's my kids and he has hdmi cable with him at friends. I will update again if there is issue with electronics of this.
A few months ago, I was trying out a few selling websites to see about clearing out some of the used clutter. I wasn't expecting much however it seemed a convenient option and certainly one better than pawn shops even if the payout might be similar or worse. I took pictures and recorded everything well. I tried to optimize prices between the offers of the websites I used and occasionally Decluttr had a much better offer. That I found out, was pointless. After shipping using their service I received a notification that the package was received and that they would get back to me likely within a few days after evaluating contents. All fine and good, until over two weeks passed with no contact. I attempted to contact with the website and left a message. The website failed to get back to me. As I was quite busy at the time it wasn't my top priority and after a month had passed after my intitial message I sent them another message. This time after a week they responded.
Their answer: The package was incomplete and appeared to have been opened or damaged with some contents lost. Great, then why hadn't they contacted me immediately and let me know and informed me which contents were lost. I decided to let the matter slide, but a customer service professional that thinks this is an acceptable answer baffles me. Clearly, they sold the items that were sent without ever giving me a choice on compensation or whether I would like to have the items that arrived returned. A few of those items would even had been worth Ebaying had I known what to expect from their "service".
There are better similar outlets available and I had no issue whatsoever with Bonavendi and the seller I used there. I strongly discourage anyone from using DeCluttr and they are not worth the time and effort. Any number of options is better (I cannot imagine worse) including donation or gifting the items.
Clearly, they are a company that banks on false promises and the whole or your money back scam that accounts for most people not being willing to bother over something so trivial to their own profit even if their practice is tantamount to theft.
On 11/30/20 I purchased a Pixel 3 in pristine condition (order R*******). The phone was shipped quickly, and I received it and activated it on 12/3. Immediately upon booting up the phone I noticed a small pixel burn at the bottom of the boot screen. The burn persisted during regular use of the phone as well as on the lock screen. Since I had bought a phone in "pristine" condition that had allegedly passed a 90-point inspection (including a screen pixel test), I was very disappointed by this. I continued to use the phone for 3 days to see if I could live with the burn. However, on 12/6 I decided to return it.
I was disappointed to find that Decluttr offered no option for talking with someone live (phone or chat) and that I had to submit a form to request a refund. After submitting a form I waited a day. Then I waited a 2nd day. But I still had not heard from a human. Finally, on the 3rd day I found an email address and sent an email. Still no response from a human. On the 4th day I sent another email. I also began reading reviews about Decluttr online and was a bit scared by what I read: plenty of allegations of Decluttr not responding to communication and\or damaging phones that had been sold to them. I began wondering: if their communication is this bad, what would happen if I tried to get them to honor their warranty? Finally, on 12/12 I finally heard from a human. To be fair, Jenny (the agent who responded) was polite, professional, and honored my request for a full refund. She also responded to subsequent replies quickly, issued my refund promptly upon receiving the phone I sent back.
My main reason for buying from Decluttr was their advertised 12 month warranty & 90-point phone check test to certify it as refurbished. However, my experience with receiving a phone that clearly hadn't been examined closely during their 90-point check process, coupled with taking nearly a week to respond to my requests left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. Until they offer better customer service that provides responses from humans within 24 hours, I will not buy from them again.
Sent Decluttr my iPhone XS Max to sell for $180, when they received my phone the evaluated it, then sent me an email stating my phone didn't qualify, so then they gave me an option to recycle or return my device back to me and choose return the device back to me, and then it gave me an option to change address if needed to so I didn't because the address I use to send the phone I no longer lived at the address because I moved so I change the address on my account to a P.O.
Box instead because I didn't have my new keys to my new place at the time, so then after I updated my address received an email stating that they will send my phone back to the updated address on file which was the P.O.Box and that they will email me after they ship the phone so I wanted over a week to receive the email about the phone being shipped I never received an email and when I checked my account on Decluttr it never had any tracking numbers stating that my phone was shipped back, then I contacted them through email and they responded with the tracking but when I checked the tracking it showed that the phone was delivered to an apartment so I contacted them again to confirm where they sent my phone to and they said they sent my phone back to my old address where I no longer lived, so I contacted them again and told them the address was updated the same day the phone did not qualify so it was right before the phone was shipped and when I told them they acted if they didn't see where I updated my address and then when I showed them proof they stop replying. So I didn't get the money and now I'm out of a perfectly good phone because of them, so would like my money for what the phone is worth or a brand new iPhone xs max from them to make this them they acted if they didn't see where I updated my address and then when I showed them proof they stop replying. So I didn't get the money and now I'm out of a perfectly good phone because of them.
I did research on Decluttr prior to selecting them to send my used cell phones in for review. Each of the devices had been wiped, charged, and packaged carefully for shipment. I had 2 Samsung Galaxy S7s and a Google Pixel 3 and all were in good, not excellent, condition. The amount they originally offered for each was reasonable, however arguing with them about what they found or what they "say" they found is not worth the time I would need to spend on the phone, or email with them. They dropped their offer on one of the Samsung S7s to $5 which I accepted. On the Pixel 3 it was $6.20 and I accepted it. The last Galaxy S7 lacked any real explanation, other than they said it failed inspection and would return it for free or recycle it.
I'm very disappointed in their responses and while I appreciate the offer to return or recycle, all of the rest of their comments do not match up with my assessment of each device prior to sending it to them. I would suggest you find a "local" company that you can get face to face with to sell your phones.
On my Order ******* they stated "We found your item to be: (Galaxy S7 32GB UNLOCKED Faulty)
Reason: During testing, we found that the device is mobile management locked and we're unable to activate the device.
Revised Offer: $5.00"
On order ******* they stated "We found your item to be:(Pixel 3 128GB Verizon Faulty).
Reason: When we tested your device, we found that the screen has come away from the rest of the item.
Revised Offer: $6.20"
On order ******* they only stated this "Value $-23.00 SORRY, YOUR ITEMS HAVE FAILED QUALITY ASSESSMENT! Unfortunately, Unfortunately, we can no longer offer a valuation for your item. We can either recycle it to help protect the planet, or we can return it to you for free. Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB VERIZON

GOOGLE LOCKED"
Answer: It is a legit company that reserves the right to keep your stuff and not pay you
Answer: I go to the library and print out shipping label. Go to Yahoo mail, or whoever you use, and you can print from there. Hope this helps Julie! And YES, they suck!
Answer: I've never purchased from them, only sold, but if they're dishonest in one direction it seems likely that they're dishonest in the other direction too.
Answer: Seemed legit and were mentioned on several respected web sites
