I have been impressed MULTIPLE times here. Margaret Hood and Kevin Courtney both went out of their way to help me and my sister in law register and plan for our weddings. They made us both feel special on separate occasions. All staff members were exceptional! The quality that most places are missing is here. They've had some of the best product selections too.
Called the local store 25 minutes away looking for a particular perfume, they have it great! Drive there and they don't have it. Meanwhile 4 out of 5 employees visible are on their phones. And brick and mortar wonder why retail is hurting!
So I can't figure out why anyone would shop there for Christmas. Even then, they have 30 days return policy. So you can't buy anything before November 26th at the earliest. Then if you order online shipping is 9.95 unless you spend $150 and there is NO option to buy and pick up in store. They also charge for return shipping. In this day of internet sales, I think this company is not long for this world. Too bad because I do like their clothes.
Like TN said, they have great shoe sales. Having bought a pair of shoes from endless that fit well, I found another of the same style but in different colours on dillards and ordered them. They charge about $8 shipping but if you're sure of the style and fit, it's a good deal. I had to change the address after the order was processed and usually I've never been able to have a retailer successfully do that, but dillards was able to. Very impressed! Their customer service was also extremely helpful and timely.
Ordered a cosmetic product that was supposed to come with a "gift with purchase." A few hours later I receive an email saying the gift is no longer available.
So I tried to cancel the order and was told it was too late and I would have to return it. What a hassle! Will not shop at Dillard's again!
This is by far the worst company I've ever shopped from. If I could give this negative stars, I would. I wanted to order a nice, cute prom dress and it fits too small and I decide to return it. I PAY for the return label and just because it did not arrive on time at their warehouse, they send my item back to my house. I call customer service and their very rude, disrespectful and they are not understanding at ALL. They do not even offer store credit! Do not. I repeat. DO NOT shop from here. You are better off shopping from Macys.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t shop here!

For those who want to order online be careful! The item can look different in real then one you see on the picture. Once you purchase it and if it is " not returnable item " forget it... they won't take it back! You stuck with it. Very unhappy
Tip for consumers:
Don’t buy it there !!! They just lost a customer!

None - it is waste of money. It looks horrible in person
They don't pick up a phone. Don't respond to emails. They sent the wrong size AND color and still take part of the refund for returning something you can't use. Sounds like a fabulous scheme to me. Probably how they stay in business.
Tip for consumers:
Don't use them

I absolutely love Dillards', but many of their sales employees have horrible customer service skills. One sale representative has the nerve to ask me if I worked? Granted I was in there Saturday last week and Thursday this week, but so what. I was so caught off guard that I was at a loss for words. No matter my reason for being there; I'm spending my money. That sales representative will never get my commissioned sale! Dillards training is in order.
I ordered a pair of Steve Madden sandals on line. I wore them for about an hour, and they caused a huge blister on my toe. I sent them back two weeks ago, I am still waiting for a credit. Customer service is useless. They told me they were going to refund 69 and I paid 89. They charged me 10 Dollars shipping each way. So in short, I paid them 20 bucks for them to give me a blister. Done with them!
First off the pair of boots were out of stock and their website said that they will cover the shipping fee if i put my email address in. They never emailed me i checked my junkmail too. I ended up paying for shipping fee even after asking them if they could credit me for it as i had the screenshot of their website saying that they will cover the shipping fee. Ok then when i got the item the pair were used and scuffed. Imagine i paid $85 plus shipping for them to send me a pair of used boots. So i sent them back and they said oh we have 5 pair in stock and we will send you the new pair asap. Now here i am writing this after 10 days of waiting and they still say that my order is being processed. They never email me for status update and they dont care and i have to wait for 30 mins sometimes 1 hour to get a status update. I hate to be one of those customers but you guys did me wrong
Tip for consumers:
Never buy from them if you’re ordering online. Their customerservice is terrible

I have been waiting over a month for my refund, I understand Covid has affected delivery's but my return shows delivered on 6/25 and still no refund. You can not reach anyone by phone and the chat feature is a joke!
This was my first time ordering from Dillards. And it's definitely my last. I ordered a make up palette that only dillards had in stock (probably because everyone avoids them at this point), and it was shattered when I received it. They told me to send the item back and they would issue me a refund. Well, the item was sent back almost 2 weeks ago and I still have not gotten a refund email. Every time I call customer service, I wait on hold for at least 20 minutes (how are they that busy?) and they give me an excuse. This time, it was "they had a lot of ice and snow at the warehouse so it put them a little behind." A LITTLE? I get packages from China quicker than this. I'll probably never get the refund because they seem super shady. Stay away, people!
I bought a suit for my wedding, they tailored it. It never fitted correctly, it was not wearable. They sales person didn't even talk to the manager, the excuse was that there was nothing to do since it is not returnable because it was altered. I have a suit from Dillard's on my closet that cost me over 500.00 and can't even wear it. Talk to manager recently, she didn't had an answer or anything to say.
I purchased 3 accessories in hopes that one would match my mother of the bride dress when it came in. Tried to return them not realizing I was out of the 30 day return window by 3 weeks. District Manager was even called and he/she refused to budge. Dillard's can't compete with Amazon or Nordstrom's or many other stores with this PREHISTORIC policy. I won't shop at Dillard's again. Posted this complaint on their website and am curious to see if Dillard's will allow it through.
The fine print matters. I purchased designer $195.00 & $110.00 shoes precisely 1 week ago. Due to the high price of these shoes I specifically asked what the return policy is at Dillards. I was advised that I could return the shoes within 30 days. I was not advised the fine print on the receipt & did not think to check the receipt. Sales ladies act really nice when you are spending lots of money. However when you want to return what you purchase, it's a different story. I went to return the shoes because after wearing them for literally 3 hours, I had to take them off and walk barefoot. The Manager "Sabine" immediately stated that due to the $110 dollar shoes having "toe" prints & both shoes obviously looking used, they could not be returned. They were like wearing underwear & not able to be returned. Very unprofessional &rude. I felt discriminated against. I had never heard such a thing "the shoes have toe prints" Do they not get toe prints when you try them on?
Tip for consumers:
Fine print matters. I spent $324.83 on shoes. Due to the price, I specifically asked the Sales lady what the return policy is at Dillards. She said 30 days. When I tried to return the uncomfortable shoes that i was only able to wear for maybe 3 hours, the Manager "Sabine" said that they could not be returned due to being worn &having toe imprints on the shoes. Don't your toes imprint the shoes you try on at the store when you are walking around? EXCUSES

Dillards has by far been the worst department store experience. Their customer service is not of any help unless it's for online purchases. Both the store and their customer service just gives you all kinds of excuses but no real solution. They won't help you at all!
Emma
Horrible return policy. Being that I remove the tags from a jacket they will not take it back that's the only thing wrong with the jacket that is ridiculous not looking out for the customer that's for sure
I was shopping for some jeans for my husband. When I walked past the folded jeans their metal sign on the shelf was sticking out and I ripped a 3 by 21/2 inch hole in my shirt. They offered for me to bring my shirt back for their seamstress to patch my shirt. Like I would want to wear a patched Jones New York shirt. The manager that made the recommendation did not even show his face. At the price of that shirt, which I bought there, I can't believe that is how they wanted to compensate for their negligence in their display shelf. Customer service has really changed.
Dillards will be out of business soon unless they change their business model. 45 minutes on hold for customer service concerning and order I placed last week. She said well the items will be ready for pick up at the store in 3 to 5 business days. I knew that. It's been 5 days. So where is the order. She said the store will call you. I drove 150 miles to the store. Took back a $200 dress and cancelled my $250 order. Way to go Dillards. Soft Surround clothing and service is much better. Good bye Dillards!
If you are not dressed to impress, forget about getting service at Dillard's. It's hot outside and I dress for the weather, shorts and a shirt. I walked into Dillard's and didn't get help, instead just got watched, and when asked for help, just got a blank look. Wow, time to find a new place to shop.
The store manager was called tothe women's department to help resolve a garment issue to be purchased for my birthday. I noticed the garment had been returned back to the floor damaged. To my surprise being a advit Dillard's customer for years when I encounter the store manager Rachel was nasty arrogant, unwilling or lack the proper training a leader to resolve. Needless to say she was no help, just made the problem ugly. However, after Miss Nasty left, the clerk come up with a solution and order the dress for me online! Problem resolve. Dillard's corporate/regional office please contact me.
"Don't know how this store hangs on."
I really don't know how this store survives. Never find what I'm looking for in this store and if I do the price is astronomical. So I never buy anything here any more. Use to be a great store. What happened? Boring store.
The worst retailer! I purchased two pairs of pants and tried to return them two weeks later. They refused to take them back just because I removed the tags. I spend over $1000 a year at that store but no more. They will never see another penny from me. Their associates were so rude! When I tried to elevate the issue, they had the same rude person call me to tell me the same thing. Goodbye, Dillards!
Everytime I go in there the associates are fighting over you to get the sales because they must make quotas in order to keep their pay. I use to manage there 15 years ago. Its even worse now to the point I hate walking in there and I love their merchandise. I literally hate their service. I get anxiety because they treat their associates terrible by dangling a carrot with their pay and then the customers have to deal with their stress. It's completely unexceptable to make either party feel that way because the company is that cheap. Please consider treating people with respect you will see better sales on all ends.

I placed 2 Black Friday sales orders. The first order was cancelled after 5 days. Now I will not receive the order and Black Friday sales are over at the other department stores. The second order had to be shipped from 2 different stores and they charged my credit card extra fees without my permission.
I purchased a dress for my daughter today in store at full price of $138 and went online to send her a picture of it only to find that it was permanently marked down online to $48.30. When we went back in to return a different item and request that the online price be honored for this dress, we were told that they won't do that, We would have to order online to get the online price (and wait for it to be delivered which isn't an option, since we're leaving town tomorrow). According to a legal review I read, this is a violation of the Consumer Protection Act, where an advertised price must be honored, and a store's online site is an advertising arm of that store. Associate said that Dillards.com and Dillard's stores are two different entities, but if that is so, then why can you return something purchased online to a store AND my digital receipt has a link to "Shop Dillards.com"?
Tip for consumers:
Terrible that store and website with the same name and ties to each other do not honor the same advertised price.
