Took over 20 DAYS to unlock! And spent the 100 to get it unlocked immediately. And bc of the longest waiting time. I now have unlocked my phone for no reason. So direct unlock wasted my time and my money. Sent multiple emails stating that the almost month wait was too much, and wanted a refund but was declined! 0/10. Had to put one star just to even write this review but that's the only reason I put one star. Highly disappointed and definitely not satisfied.

Less than one star scamsters and I think cash app is in cahoots with them. Customer support that's a joke they basically just tell you that they plan on scamming you on and on baiting you for more money

My phone was already unlocked and when running the check I was told it was not. Paid 28$ to be told the phone was locked and could be unlocked. Then paid $50 to proceed with the unlock. Something made me call the carrier to check to see if phone was locked and they confirmed it was not. I was able to add it to my son's account with his carrier immediately. 4 days later this company is still "unlocking" my already unlocked phone. I would not believe the scam they do that you have to pay for. Call your carrier first!

As it seems we have already completed the unlock process based on our records ("Unlock Complete"), and the eligibility check service fee is non-refundable as per our terms. THIS IS A SCAM. I thought that this was a real unlocking service but it's not.
They'll make you pay $20-$30 for an initial check or if your phone is "safe" to work with.
I found out that you can easily do this online FOR FREE.

Then after the check-up, they make you pay another $130 for the actual unlocking.
It's not true. They'll make you wait for days on end and then send you a fake email to teach you how to unlock it yourself. Please report this website.

They'll reply with a fake account and not even a real person to make you feel like they're actually working on your phone. Great scheme. Watch out everyone.

This is a scam! They make it *look* like you'll only pay $29, but after you've paid that, they say you have to pay another $49 for them to finish the job! If you dig deep into their terms of service, you'll eventually find that they refer to the $29 a "Pre-Order Fee".

Who knows? They might charge a 3rd or 4th fee, and they might never actually unlock your phone... I never know, because I decided to cut my losses and not take the risk of paying out even more money to a company that uses deceptive tactics.

I suppose it's a good scam for them, because they actually do mention the second fee... in faint, small print off to the side... so they can always *claim* they didn't hide anything, even though they obviously were trying to deceive.

They also *claim* that this is all explained on their "price list", but the link to their supposed price list (https://directunlocks.com/pricelist) just takes you back to their home page.

Tip for consumers:
Read every bit of fine print for the "gotchas", and make sure it's actually worth paying over 2½ times the amount displayed in big letters!
But, if you have to work that hard to protect yourself from overlooking a "gotcha", then you're really better off taking your business somewhere else.

Regarding the additional payment, it supports the actual unlocking process, necessary to complete the service. While I understand your disappointment with the outcome, our policy does state that credit notes are issued when a service isn't successful (7.10).

I see that you're not keen on the idea of store credit, and while refunds are usually made in the form of credit note to use against different services, our main goal is your satisfaction. For your iPhone 12 unlock with T-Mobile USA, you've made two payments – £23.99 for the Eligibility Check and £38 for the Standard Unlock. I'm delighted to confirm that your unlock is complete, so no further payments are required unless your phone didn't meet certain criteria and needed a Premium Service.

They made me wait a whole week to see if they could unlock my phone. When they could not unlock it, they will not refund me. I have no use for credit with a company that cannot offer what they promised. They failed and made me wasted a whole week for nothing. I would never use this company again.

Our policy is designed to provide clarity on refunds, and as mentioned under the "Hard-Locked Phones" section, such instances typically do not qualify for a refund. However, we issued a credit note, as per section 7.5, so you can use it against any sim unlocking service that may be beneficial to you in the future.
