The website is vague abd full of hidden fees. They won't allow you to pay with credit and make you pay with debit so that it's harder to get your money back from your bank. 100% scam, fraud and extortion. The average unlock, from them, is over $200. They made me pay $28.99, $50, then tried to make me pay $193. It's not worth it.

Once I was able to connect with the tech things seemed to go pretty well. My problem is I still can't tell if it's actually completely unlocked because phone is still in constant "search", so I can't try it and see if it will work.

BE CAREFUL: they have zero customer service the emails to *******@directunlocks.com bounce. They will take your money in several steps and never respond ever again.
If your phone is financed directunlocks wont be able to unlock it for you without paying the balance first. They will first bait you with a $28 charge to "verify" if your phone can be unlocked. Then they will say your unlock is ready if you pay another $50. Finally they come back saying because the phone has a balance I would have to pay them over $300 (+ the $88 already paid) to pay the balance and then have my phone unlocked. Literally every carrier will unlock the phone for you for free once you pay off the financing so what is the point of this service? They are refusing to refund my $50 which I was misled into paying and there is no customer service to reach. BUYER BEWARE they will bait you into making 3 separate payments and will keep making excuses as to why the phone cant be unlocked until you make 3 huge payments to them. I request a refund for my $50 literally no service was rendered except to say my phone was financed, which I already knew and they were supposed to check that in the initial stage.

Then it's imei, (imei is right), then it's I may be not putting in the digits right (I am, checked them 9 times) then it's "for an additional fee, we can remote unlock it via usb" so you want to remote access into my computer into my phone via adb? I'm already in adb. I've emailed support pictures and videos of the error 1 code, 0 stars. I'm sorry. Out about 100$ still network locked. Tracfone requires 2 16 digit codes, they are sending me 8 digit codes. I did this review, still no 10 dollar credit. Requesting a full refund.

It it made to seem that the additional was a required payment towards the phone balance to unlock the phone. So we paid the fee that it said was "required by att because the phone is still under contact" implying that the payment was to towards the phone balance. I'm very upset about the misleading information around the service. But the phone did get unlocked but now I feel like it was somehow done illegally.
I contacted about the premium unlock that was implied it was a payment for att phone contract and it wasn’t. The reply was made to make me feel like an idiot with statements to the effect no why would it be for that?
Was a google search that did have positive reviews but honestly I’m learning that I believe most of these are fake reviews.
