Do not purchase anything this company, I have been dealing with them for two years on replacements and all they send is dead sticks with no root system. Wish I never ordered from them... Worst company ever..

On 27 Feb 2023 I ordered several perennials from Burgess. I noted that these should be shipped in the spring in my area, Central Florida, ZONE 10A. On 13 June 2023 I received the order. On that day the outside temperature was in the low 90s, the dew point was 80 and the heat index was over 100. HELLO! THIS IS SUMMER IN CENTRAL FLORIDA! The order information is given below.
#1. The $40 Med Olive was a 12 inch stick with NO leaves.
#2. The two Sweet Boxes were essentially bare root. All the "dirt", abouc a cupful, was loose and dry in the bottom of the boxes. Another $20 wasted.
#3. Part of this order was discounted because Burgess had shipped over $80 of dead plants in 2022.
Frankly, Burgess deserves all the negative comments it gets, AND MORE!

Full month with no order and no responses to emails and their customer service number is always busy. Trying to cancel order but looks like I'll have to dispute it through my credit card company as I cannot get hold of anyone at the company.

Last fall I got an unsolicited catalog from Burgess seed, having never before done business with them. They advertised and I bought a quantity of pink daffodils, one single bloom, one double. (Pink is two of my granddaughters' favorite colors, so I bought for them to plant.) In the spring, nice singles and nice double daffodils bloomed. ALL YELLOW. Not a hint of pink. (I already have thousands of yellow daffodils and certainly would not have bought more.) Recently, I messaged Burgess's customer service, asking how they would make the situation right. BURGESS DID NOT EVEN GIVE ME THE COURTESY OF A RESPONSE.
I will never waste another penny with Burgess and suggest you do not.

The $134 of seed potatoes they sent were rotten, oozing. Filthy liquid was seeping out of the bag, and the powdery mold on some was so bad, we used masks and gloves to deal with the package.

The seed potatoes came late, too. So their offer of a replacement (they don't offer refunds) makes no sense. It's now too late to plant potatoes in my area.

Some of the seed potatoes had decomposed into sludge. It was really awful. I think my husband buried them in the woods, to help deter animals from eating them and poisoning themselves.

My plants arrived dead and their customer service was horrible and misleading. Don't buy from this place! You will be disappointed if you do! I would have given them a zero rating if that was possible

I ordered plum trees and strawberries in early 2018. They arrived when the time was appropriate to plant them. They were dead. I waited several months to give the plants a chance. Never any green. I've been gardening for decades and never have I seen such poor products. In 2019 I contacted the company to get the wretchedly inferior stock replaced. The company's representative said that if I sent a copy of the cancelled check and an explanation of the problem, the plants would be replaced. I answered the next day. I contacted them again this week to see when my plants will be in and the company said too much time has passed. It said it has no record of my submission. Never did I receive my mailing back, so I assume the company received it. My position is that the company should honor its promise, which it has chosen not to do. The products are inferior and the "service" is even worse, in my opinion. Buy from a more reputable company that sells decent plants. You'll be happier.

I placed an order for $145, after 7 weeks I have not received any part of my order. I tried to contact them by phone several times, no answer. I sent 2 e-mails and they sent an automated reply. Today I asked for a refund, we'll see how it goes.

This company is great.

I love this company. Yes the trees look dead upon arrival, but they are not. I plant them all in pots, so much easier to get them going. Once they are thriving I transplant them. I have beautiful pampas grass, bushes and a 30 ft willow tree. The willow tree cost me $1.00. You can't beat the prices

I recommend not doing business with them. A couple of years ago I ordered about $78 worth of fruit and flower plants. On arrival I was surprised to find that all the plants were basically roots in plastic bags. I right away knew that these plants are not going to grow. Anyway, I went ahead and planted them. Couple of months later none except one that was a grass showed any sign of life. I emailed Burgess with my order no. To tell them what had happened. They wrote back saying that to take any action, ie to replace the plants or refund the money the order no., my name, address is not sufficient, they need the shipping no. From the delivery package. Obviously two months after the delivery I didn't have the package saved to provide the information. The order no. In their computer would have given them all the information they needed, but they chose to come up with this excuse for not to refund or replace. That was my worst experience with a purchase I had made online.
