I have rented cars from EconomyCarRentals on many locations over many years. Everything has always worked very fine indeed - also the rare time og maybe two, when something unexpected happened. I can very much recommend this company both regarding very good prices and overall service:-)
Don't forget that EconomyCarRentals is a broker who finds available car rental companies among the rental companies. Their policy when a rental is changed in one way or another (e.g. Arriving late) is very broad and allows them to practically let you down and run off with your deposit regardless of the reason. If your flight or your ferry arrived late that's your problem. This is what happened to me. As I arrived more than 30 minutes late, the company treated this as a "no show", therefore when I arrived, my car was no longer available (for a 4 days rental!) and I was left to my own devices and without a car with all my luggage. I contacted EconomyCarRentals and was lectured that I should have notified them of my delay and that my deposit was lost. So please don't do business with them! Instead, deal directly with the rental company rather than a broker!

I have been using EconomyCarRentals for several years and have never had a negative experience! They obviously partner with excellent companies (with very friendly staff), I have always gotten very good cars (i. E. new cars), never had any bureaucratic issues or difficulties and the prices are extremely competitive (trust me, I've done my research!). I will continue renting through this site, because of the ease of booking, the great prices and experiences I had so far! Thanks so much!
Quoted a total price in my currency and ended up paying 20% more due to the fact that the local company did not take account of the deposit to Economy Car Rental centrally. When I raised this they took 4 months (after asking me to contact the local supplier!) to tell me what I already knew, that I had been overcharged but refused to admit it giving me numbers in Euros which neither I nor the local provide use! And to cap it all verses a local supplier who I have since found they are almost 50% more expensive! I also noticed that the more I enquired on the website, the more the prices seemed to go up.
An absolute no go in my opinion, shop elsewhere!
I have used many rental brokers, but I never had a terrible experience like this. I rented a car in Elgin Scotland and after calling the local Enterprise to confirm the pick up I was told there were no cars available: this was the 1st of November 2022. At the end of December they still did not want to refund the money blaming me for not showing up at the office. And after calling Enterprise I found out they never charged me, which means Economy Car Rentals are keeping my money for no reason. Beware of them, scammers!

I rented a car through a different Company, all went well
Booked through Expedia - $106 for 5 days. They said they had a right to charge extra fees since Expedia sites state they can. The fee was proclaimed to be additional Liability, per rep., for time in a shop if there was an accident and car not available. With the non-refundable total price was $415! SCAM ALERT Car was returned in good condition - however the key fob did not work the entire time and they would not respond to my requests to fix.
Awesome experience with EconomyCarRentals in Portugal. Easy website, the car was incredible, the actual rental company used (MasterKings) had excellent service / timing in meeting us at Lisbon airport. Will use again for sure!
Got to Ft Lauderdale Airport. 1 shuttle bus takes you to other side of airport. Then you have to walk all the way to the Economy van, to take you to their Building. So 2 shuttles, off and on with all your luggage. Finally you arrive at the Economy SHAK! Some badly in need of repair building. Walk up to get car. Agent suckers you into buying an EZPass for tolls. He said to me, and I quote, " You need this for tolls. When you leave here you will go over a toll bridge that takes no cash. If you dont have this, you will receive a ticket up to $300. The pass cost, with tax, $58. "
Well I left there, and never went over a bridge. In fact, the entire 5 days I was in Fla, I never paid any tolls! So that was a rip!
Beware, if you don't buy their inflated insurance, they put a $500 charge on your credit card.
The van and driver were nice. The car had no problems!
I am certain, I will not be using economy again. The price was cheap. You get what you pay for!

I booked my car online for the price showing up in bold CAD 543.00, provided them for banking details to reserve the car.
I was told by the car supplier (Discount Car Rental in Montreal) to pay the above amount at the desk before collection. As the voucher received from Economy car Rental instructed me to pay at the desk with chip and pin machine. I happily paid as I knew I was suppose to pay them CAD 543.00 as seen at the time of booking.
Later on I have discovered they have taken another lodged another transaction on my credit card for £132.68 out of no where.
I must admit been doing shopping, booking online for ages but never found anything misleading like this company. In my personal opinion, I feel like a victim of day time robbery after renting a vehicle from them.
Please avoid it completely for your own good.
Bit it a scam, be careful. Even with your own insurance with your credit card they basically scare you into buying their insurance. We rented one out of Lisbon. They basically rent the cars at a lower rate and then rope you in. If I didn't purchase their insurance I was going to have to pay them 1,500 and it was very unlikely that id ever get it back, they would basically find something wrong with the car and charge you for it. Be careful. Maybe it's better to go with one of the other companies and you won't have to pay 300 in insurance for nothing.
I booked a car, second time within 4 months from this company, the second time we arrived in Italy and they didn't accept our driving license because it was slightly blurry (you could read the details), and the first time they accepted the same license without any issues.
The worst, is that they didn't refund to us our deposit which is not fair. We feel like we are robbed.

Booked a car - but there was no signs of rental car provider at the airport. Wasted my time looking for it. Support teamed up with car provider and refused to refund the down payment or at least check that the car provider isn't a fraud.
Stay away, they don't care about you once you've made a payment.
I had the worse experience with Economy Car Rentals in Milan Malpensa airport (they used Sicily by car as a provider). The rental company used one hour to handle my pre-booking and afterward tried 3 of my credit cards without succeeding (2 Visa and 1 Mastercard).
Then they asked me to go to an ATM machine and get the leasing amount in cash. I refused and told them to cancel my reservation which they promised to do.
I went directly to another provider in the same terminal and had no problem renting a car or using my credit cards (it took me 15 minutes).
To my big surprise, Economy Car Rentals made a withdrawal from my account on June 15 for the full amount for the car I did not rent. I've asked them for a refund but they don't respond to my messages.
I normally rent a lot of cars for work and this has by far been the worst car rental experience in my life. My best advice is to NEVER use this company!

Rented a car to pick up at Salt Lake City airport flying in from Cincinnati. Our plane was delayed 2.5 hours on the plane. Our pick up time originally was 10 am and we landed and called at 12:35 and we were informed since we were 2.5 hours late to pick up they gave out car away and had nothing else available. I asked for refund and they would not give to us since we booked through Priceline. Horrible customer service! Being a rental company at the airport and knowing delays happen they did nothing for us! We went to Enterprise and they saved the day! I will never book through Priceline for anything ever again and I will never use Economy for a rental!

I booked Island Cars, Jamaica through Economy Car Rentals, including full insurance, when I picked up my car I had to buy new insurance as the Island Cars still wanted the deposit, saying I would have to recover it from E. C. R. If there was a problem. They sold me a no deposit insurance on the spot, and were a friendly and helpful outfit to deal with. I complained by email to E. C. R. And received no reply. Moral of the story, I will book direct in the future!
I am still waiting for my deposit back, after numerous phone calls no one has gotten back to me. I contacted the company via messenger on Facebook I was promised the deposit would be paid back that was over a week ago. The so called service is pathetic. I will never recommend your company to anyone

Worst experience ever! Booking with economycarrental.com (ECR) was full of bad surprises and their customer service is appalling.
The booking itself includes HIDDEN COSTS: a) Their theft Damage Excess Protection and Cancel Protection Service, are not refundable or deducted from the outstanding balance paid locally at pick up. You need to cancel it before the booking starts, or you will find yourself paying it twice (also to the local company you hire from since ECR is only an intermediate), b) what they call a "down payment" and pretends to be a deposit at first turns out to be also non-refundable payment for the car hire mediation (in my case about $400).
Book with ECR if prepared to lose over $500 unless, of course, you are the type who read the fine print. The company is a total scam, which was confirmed by the way they deal with the complaint later. An invoice for their services was never issued. Not even 2 months after the booking. I wonder why...

We travelled with my service dog so they went and found us the worst car they could. The car had been in a crash and had major damage. The wipers didn't clear the window of rain. Going down the highway it took my husband both hands gripping the wheel to keep us on the road braking was a serious shimmy. When I complained to head office they never address the car but pointed out a few times I was an hour late. This company has no concern for customer safety all I would suggest is walk before putting your family in danger.
During the recent hacker attack on Sixt, they did not issue a rental car at the Sixt city office in Munich Central Station because the reservation was made through Economycarrental. The customer service of Economycarrental was difficult to reach, disinterested and could or would not achieve anything vis-à-vis Sixt. We then had to drive to the airport and book directly with Hertz. Economycarrentals did not offer any support. After insisting several times in writing, they only refunded the deposit after more than 4 weeks. They did not want to compensate for the additional costs. Economycarrentals has long since passed its zenith. Today there are better brokers.
This company stinks. I thought we were picking a car up in Cancun Airport. It turns out after an hour of frantically trying to get information we were shuttled to another car rental company Mex Rentals who claimed to know nothing of our booking with EconomyCarRentals and wanted to charge us double. They told us the 100USD we paid was probably only a commission. They were rude said it was our own fault for going cheap.
We thought we would get things sorted by contacting EconomyCarRentals, their telephone doesn't work and they didn't respond to our email. It's now day 3 of our holiday they still have our deposit and will not respond to our email. What else can you call it? Irma Cortes
Economy Car Rental at economycarrentals.com business model leads to scam; people are forced to pay for service with hidden fees.
I have booked a rental car. When went to pick up, the agent at the front desk required & asked 1500 Euro deposit, which will be on hold for one month. That was not not mentioned on economycarrentals.com website at the time of ordering and leads to misleading business model!
NO wonder why 2 other people front of me (a man from the UK and a scandinavian) have cancelled their bookings for the same reason.
Because of the facts above, I have cancelled my booking and request refund which was never granted.
I strongly suggest anyone being scammed by Economy Car Rental to file complaint with the European Consumer Centres in the European Commission and to dispute their payment directly through their CC/Debit card bank issuer.
Damaged one of the mirror covers and the cost was 350€. Economycarrentals.com didn't want to refund saying that it's not covered by the insurance. However, I couldn't find a place where the mirror cover is explicitely excluded from insurance. Never booking through them again.

I often use this website and I have always found it very good. Last time during my holidays in Greece I had a small accident (some scratches in the bodywork). Since I had taken full insurance, I asked for a refund and was reimbursed within a reasonable time after having sent the documentation that was requested to me.

Economycarrentals did get back to me following my review. I had made a mistake in my email address which is why I could not access the booking. However, whilst it was my mistake I sent numerous emails (from correct email address!) with the booking reference and received no response until I reviewed on this site. Hopefully there won't be any further problems!
I booked a 9 people car two days ago but have heard nothing. The deposit has been taken from my bank account. When I try and log into my booking it states "login invalid" I have emailed 3 times asking whether I have a booking or not but get no response. I was booking this for a large group and we are now all really worried as to whether or not we even have a vehicle. I honestly wish I'd never booked through this company

The agent didn't meet us at London Heathrow. Took ages to get the correct phone number to get picked up. Car was not what we requested. We were on a tight schedule and ran two hours late due to their incompetency. Car cost us twice more than advertised. Had trouble contacting someone when we returned the car. Will never use this company again.
