I have rented cars from EconomyCarRentals on many locations over many years. Everything has always worked very fine indeed - also the rare time og maybe two, when something unexpected happened. I can very much recommend this company both regarding very good prices and overall service:-)
Don't forget that EconomyCarRentals is a broker who finds available car rental companies among the rental companies. Their policy when a rental is changed in one way or another (e.g. Arriving late) is very broad and allows them to practically let you down and run off with your deposit regardless of the reason. If your flight or your ferry arrived late that's your problem. This is what happened to me. As I arrived more than 30 minutes late, the company treated this as a "no show", therefore when I arrived, my car was no longer available (for a 4 days rental!) and I was left to my own devices and without a car with all my luggage. I contacted EconomyCarRentals and was lectured that I should have notified them of my delay and that my deposit was lost. So please don't do business with them! Instead, deal directly with the rental company rather than a broker!

2. You pickup your car and it turns out to be a company called "Yes Rental" who charge you again!
Turns out ecomony car rental is an agent and the $150 was an agent fee! This was not explained when completing booking online. And car Sat Nav is in Chinese!
Had a very bad experience with this company on the day of collection for the car. Card was not accepted and not alternatives was given except cancelled my booking and ask me to find some other companies. It was on a friday evening so most companies are already closed and i was late already.
This company website is misleading. They accepted my card online but refused to accepted my card on the day.
Upon getting in touch with their customer service, they told me thats their policy and its in accordance with their terms and condition. No refund would be given.
Point is: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!
Feels like i just fallen into scam. Paid for nothing, didnt get my money back. Had a bad holiday experience and my girlfriend broke her leg while we were trying to find another car rental company.
We are in Malaga Spain, I rented a car from enterprises last week, booked online, at the counter showed my Canadian driver's license and the picture of my passport and got the car for two days, no problem.
Did the same thing with Economy rent a car, location was at the airport, we didn't mind. Staff at counter was extremely rude she didn't accept my driver's license as ID an said we in Spain have DL and ID and it's not her problem!
I asked to change the rental to my wife's name since she has her passport and driver's license, NO
Asked for refund, NO.
Right at the airport we went to another rental agency and they accept my Driver's license!
They wasted my whole day an costs me rental fee for 4 days and uber ride.
Ps, you can't call them, there is no phone number!
Maybe we get spoiled in Canada, because in Canada they go extra mile to accomodate the customer one way or another.
This car rental booking partner is not providing the proper customer service. I had to make a second reservation for the same week and I had to pay them twice for the reservation cost. Once all the documents have been submitted, I received a notification that they are not able to provide a refund. It is a easy way to make money, so be aware of it.

My flight was delayed and the rental car placed closed before I could pick the car up. I let them know this and they told me I could still pick up the car in the morning. When I called in the morning, they told me they had no car available to me. I asked for a refund and was sent on a chase to try to find someone to help, I spoke to multiple people who kept giving me a new number to call. I emailed their customer service to explain the situation and they refused to refund me despite me not being able to use their service. They then ignored my email response back to them for 3 weeks and I am still waiting to hear back from them.

Rented cars three time and one time I had to cancel my rent. The first time it was in Italy, second time in Bulgaria and third time in Germany. All together I had great experience using this site. Once I had to cancel my rental and they returned the money given several months ago. Really good prices and deals. Never used car insurance thou so never been involved in one of the experiences other reviewers explain.
We made our reservation and paid in full 2 weeks in advance for a week of car rental in the amount of $242. We did an early check in a day before the rent. Due to a flight delay and Economy' poor instructions for the shuttle bus we were 2 hours late to pick up the car. Economy changed us additional $130 for 2 hours that we already paid in full in advance. When we refused to pay they refused to give us a car and refused to refund. They were extremely rude, laughing and kept saying that the delayed flight is not their problem and that the fact that we already paid in full doesn't matter. Save yourself a heartache and NEVER RENT A CAR WITH ECONOMY!

The weekend of September 14,2023, I rented a vehicle from this company. I have traveled extensively locally and abroad. This company is by far the worst. The combination of customers and other staff was horrible especially the employees where you return the vehicle. I also had to replace the first because the service light came on. It was indeed an inconvenience. I was truly disappointed and it was my first ever using to company and it will be my last.

Based on a personal experience, my opinion is that this site charges 200 % and more, than the normal price of the single companies, for the same service. I talked with other customers who booked for the same period and a similar car. There is nothing "Economy". Is Is the opposite...!
This 'economy' opportunity is a terrible choice. They suck from you all the money they can and in the end you are forced to pay an enormous amount if you still want the car. Good overall with the rental agency, your site was not updated. You're asking full price based on the normal season yet couldn't account for the fact that no one was allowed here/airports were closed. Even to call I was told "the prices are already discounted". So in the midst of covid and tough times you steadily increase your rates while the local companies are desperate for business. I certainly chose lower models each time. Also you have 0 loyalty program, nothing for returning customers which is sad.

When I had an issue with my car rental in San Diego and called them, they offered to help and were very polite. They found a good deal for me in another city: Seattle.
When I explained that Seattle is a little too far from San Diego, they said they couldn't help.
I talked to the supervisor who then said I should email them. When you email them, you can't expect an immediate response, it takes them a few days to answer.
I ended up refusing the car and renting with another agency.

I booked an on-line car rental in Malaga with free cancellation. A few days later (and 1 month before my trip) I cancelled the car. They said that my money would be refunded within a week. That was on July 2nd and now it is August 24th. I have already returned and dealt with another company. They will no longer answer my e mails demanding the money owed to me. Good work if you can get it I guess!
Our car came through Thrift via Economy car rentals. We got an immediate upgrade just because there was one available (we didnt ask). The prices very reasonable. No hidden costs. No bull$#*! insurance fiddles... great service... friendly and professional service. Couldn't ask for more. Brilliant!
Took forever to pick up on 3/7/21 at 5pm. Rental with a free upgrade was a 5 year old 50k+ mileage car falling apart. Returned 3/15/21 & they would not provide a physical receipt, said it would be emailed & haven't received it over 24 hours later but see a credit card charge of 49.95. Called about the charge & said it was for cleaning & told me to have a nice life! SCAMMERS! Do not rent here!

Absolutely scamming company #maggiore #sicily #avis
Already for two months I cant get my reimbursement back. I made a car reservation with a full insurance via economy car rentals site, paid half of the amount. However, in sicily airport Maggiore billed me again a full amount + insurance, claiming that the difference would be paid back once I return the car.
Unfortunately, the car was attacked by wild dogs, who scratched the car. The police confirmed the incident. All the docs were given to Maggiore, however, they charged me another amount for the damages + taxes. The taxes and damages are covered by my contract, which was half paid! I refused to sign the bill, but they took the money without my signature! After two months of struggle, calls, emails etc - still no reaction at all! We speak about 700 euro of difference which they billed me illegally and dont want to reimbource. Scamming company! Maggiore! Never anymore!
The company is just dirty thieves! They are intermediaries. Received cars do not meet the requirements. The car class is lower. For full insurance it is necessary to pay extra, although it is that it is included in the payment. Take extra money from the card without specifying the reasons. Do not give out received!

Car was hybrid, never driven one before, handed the fob and told to go. Had to ask where the key was, in fact was hob, asked how EV works, told don't worry about it, just drive on petrol. Had to work out myself how to start it, eventually realising it will start when it is ready. No instructions, no manuals, staff seemed to just want to get rid of us. Did not realise there were no gears to change, ie could not change gears going down extremely steep hills in NZ, had to toally rely on brakes alone. Having met numerous of thes hire vehicles all over NZ, the comments were always the same, staff unhelpful, no idea how hybrid works, no instruction. On return of vehicle, staff were too busy, taking over an hour to return my vehicle. Would never repeat never recomment to anyone. Vehicle was far too small, low, possibly my error because I assumed a medium car was just that, not one for midgets.

We reserved a car with the company and got a confirmation.
When we arrived after our flight to get the car they let us wait 2 hours just to let us know that they had no cars at all to give us!
We had to push all of our hotels by 2 days which resulted in a big cost.
The cars company did not agree to give us any compensation.

This is the first issue I've ever had with booking a rental car after years of renting a car. I was overcharged at the car provider when I picked up the car. I was only supposed to be charged $147 per the voucher but ended up being charged $215. I didn't elect any additional options they offered.
My issue is the voucher says I will be owed $147. The voucher didn't say taxes and fees will be added to that amount. It's deceiving to the customer and Economy Car Rentals is advertising no surprises.
After contacting them, I was told that it states that taxes and fees will be added in their Terms and Conditions document which is a long document no one reads when booking a car. Total amount was never fully displayed in any of the documents that was sent by Economy Car Rental before going to pick up the car.
After my credit card was charged for the reservation, it was no longer accepted at the time of taking delivery of the vehicle. I could not be reimbursed. I lost my money, I did not get the car, and I had to rent a car from the agency next door.
We had a bad experience with economycarrentals.com - The site initially looks fine. We were booking from overseas for a car in the USA. We happen to reside overseas but possess US drivers licenses. We booked our car, got our voucher, called the car rental place in advance to assure our booking. But when we went to pick up the car at 6am on a Sunday, the US rental agency said we needed an international driver's license - not US driver's license. They would not honor our voucher. And Economy Car Rentals was unavailable to help. I called and wrote in to customer service, it took them 20 days to respond, and they refused to refund our deposit. Beware of any company that treats its customers like this. There are hidden terms and conditions - beware beware beware.
I joined a queue of people arguing that Delpaso Car Hire in Malaga should conform to their quote from Economy Car Hire. I was told "of course you cant have a car for that price" etc... Car cost more. Insurance was more. Told my yearly excess insurance would not cover the excess. Wanted £3000 debited from my credit card 'just in case' (so I couldn't use my own insurance!).
I know Spanish Car hire is a nightmare but Economy Car Hire should sort this or clear out of the market.
Its also really difficult to put a review on their website. Well I tried +++ but that may just be me.
