I have rented cars from EconomyCarRentals on many locations over many years. Everything has always worked very fine indeed - also the rare time og maybe two, when something unexpected happened. I can very much recommend this company both regarding very good prices and overall service:-)
Don't forget that EconomyCarRentals is a broker who finds available car rental companies among the rental companies. Their policy when a rental is changed in one way or another (e.g. Arriving late) is very broad and allows them to practically let you down and run off with your deposit regardless of the reason. If your flight or your ferry arrived late that's your problem. This is what happened to me. As I arrived more than 30 minutes late, the company treated this as a "no show", therefore when I arrived, my car was no longer available (for a 4 days rental!) and I was left to my own devices and without a car with all my luggage. I contacted EconomyCarRentals and was lectured that I should have notified them of my delay and that my deposit was lost. So please don't do business with them! Instead, deal directly with the rental company rather than a broker!
Take your deposit and refuse it for any reason for example if you don't have an international driver's license. So you don't have your deposit and a car.
Very disappointed. I had an issue and contacted them several times. Despite asking a clear question, no feedback at all. Will not use this company anymore! Zero client service.
They arenot in the airport... they are two miles ouside... reserved a car to be delivered at night. Their ofices were closed and they charged my card... thieves

Hire Car in Alicante 'Record Go' who ECR had suggested was the cheapest at 340+€ turned out to be 507 €! Also the car that was advertised was not the car offered but on arrival for this car i had to pay extra to get the car I had initially thought I would get which was the Hyundai Tucson but they first offered the Ford Kuga but for extra payment of get the Hyundai!?
Do mo not happy do I think I'll get s refund no will other people get ripped off, yes!
Booked a car through EconomyCarrentals for our stay in Dubrovnik in July for family holiday.
Upon arriving in Dubrovnik we were transferred to another company who gave us smaller car then we booked and got confirmation for. Almost 4 hours we were fighting with representative of another company and only almost in midnight carcompany representative offered us big bus for one night and obligation to change the car next day in another town. With tired and crying child it was impossible for us stay more time waiting for new car and we had to take this smaller car and travel 2 weeks with luggage on our knees.
After our stay we were charged almost 400 EUR more than was mentioned in our booking confirmation for extra VAT etc!
PLEASE AVOID TO DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

Be aware what's the true car rental provider and what's the online agency. You need to pay 20% more to the agency but get a cheap provider with cheap services.
How cheap services we got from this experience?
We waited at airport for the shuttle to the car provider the York for an hour.
It took us two hours finally get the car. We saw couple customers waited as much time as us.
The car we got was a 75,000 km damaged van with multiple visible scratches and a hole in the windshield unrepaired.
We saw the "Unlimited mileage" as advertised on line. We got final order confirmation from rental car provider indicating mileage "Unlimited" with a small * instead of putting the word "Local driver with limitation" after it to make clear for this crucial differency. The limitation of local driver is hidden in thousand words "Terms and conditions" on seperate page. This "Unlimited" is a trap. It ruined our travel plan.
The rental car provider said clearly and certainly all pre-charged online at ordering will be refunded. All our cost was paid at the counter to the car provider. We thought Economy will get percentage from car provider. But Economy Car Rental said pre-charged fee was not refundable.
These are all facts. A big lesson is never rent a car through Online agency to get a chaep real provider. They have different voices for their different benefits.

We reserved a car from Venice for 10 days and paid the required fees on reservation. When arriving at the car-rental, they demanded an international driving license even though there is an agreement between our country, Israel, and Italy that international driver's license are not needed. They said to contact Economy Car Rentals, which will contact them and after verifying that we didn't get a car, they will refund us the money we paid. We contact them a number of times. They insisted that, relaying on a line hidden at the button, saying that we needed international license where needed, they are not going to give us back a dime. All other car rental companies at the airport were more than happy to rent us a car with our driver's license. We ended up renting from Budget rent a car at a last minute fee, much higher than if we were to reserve with them in advance. Be aware, if you reserve with Economy Car Rentals and have to change or cancel, THEY KEEP THE MONEY! Book with recognized site like Booking.com where you don't have to pay until you take the car.

"International driver’s licence in addition with the national one is required for non EU citizens and in case that the driver's licence is not written in Roman characters.
International driving licence or a sworn translation (made by the embassy or the consulate) is mandatory for all customers residing in China, Japan or Russia in case the national driving licence does not have its basic information in Roman characters."

We have rented a van and returned it perfectly, and then when we left they charge us with 700€ MORE because they told us that the van was destroyed (we have a photo that demonstrate that the van 1 hour before returned it was in perfect conditions). The two boys that checked the van when we returned it told us that it was perfect. Then the last weeks we have been trying them to return our money (because even though we returned the van on perfect conditions we have FULL INSURANCE, so it shouldn't have been a problem if that was the case?) and when we call they hung up the phone or they tell us that they have to "look into it, call in a couple of days". THIS IS A FRAUD, AND ECONOMY CAR RENTALS HAS ROBBED US 700€.

We book a car to Phoenix, AZ, and their system was down, we could not pick a car. We had to go another car rental company. Never get back the prepayed money. Not recommend to anyone!

After you add you credit cart details they will charge random amount of money from your bank account with out any reason. There is no information about this in terms of services. They will not return this money back to you. They charged 78.87 Eur just for registering to theyr system and are not willing to solve this problem. I was quoted a price at Mucria Airport when I picked up the car and when I returned home my cc was charged over 90e extra and all I was told was that was tuff nothing could be done as I signed the contract which was rushed as we were the last customers for the day, an absolute disgrace

You paid online a part of this cost € 1,28 and the balance that remained to be paid locally was € 9,80.
As per a check we did on the final invoice and the signed rental agreement, this price was honored by the local supplier.
The difference in the rate is due to the addition of the extra insurance SCDW, which is subject to the local taxes and fees.
This is what was written on the rental agreement and what was signed by your side as well.

We have booked with this company before but this year having booked for 25 days in France to commence 27/05/18.
Picked up car although not valeted from Avis Budget in Avigion.
I was asked at the desk if I wanted excess and other types of insurance cover added. I said no as I have an annual policy every year in England to cover all bases.
The car was quoted by economycarentals at £287 six weeks before my intended journey, which was very reasonable and was as usual asked to pay a hire deposit of 210 which I duly paid as this is the the procedure I have always used before.
On my return I received my final statement from Avis Budget for 337. No reduction for the deposit I had paid?
I have spent 1 month now chasing my deposit.
Avis Budget say no extra insurance was applied to my account and no pre payment voucher has been received.
Economy car say that the 210 was used to cover the insurance I agreed to. Although my pre payment voucher says 210 final payment for hire amounts.
Nowhere does it state that this payment was to pay for insurance. I have no idea who if anybody insured me without my knowing. I have no insurance policy stating what Im covered for? I have no receipt for insurance cover only car hire.
So the whole experience smacks of PPI!
So for a car hire that was quoted at 287 I have paid 547.
My complaint is still ongoing with both companies. I will never ever use them again and I am a regular hirer.

We use them a lot and never had problems! The first website I visit when I need a car rental offer for our next getaway!
I have rented my car via the service economycarrentals.com with the full insurance package but they've never insured me or paid back the fees after a real accident...
When you book with these kind of "low rate company", you have to pay the excess fee in advance to the car agency and they are supposed to reimbourse you this fee if in case you have an accident.
But in my experience, economycarrentals.com is not honnest with their insurance package. They basically never paid me back what I was supposed to receive. They probably insure themselve on their own without an insurance company, so the result is that they need to pay as less as possible and rip off as much customers as possible!
Here is more information on how my (bad) adventure happened:
I had an accident during my holidays, so the renting company took the full amount of the excess fee and said that economycarrentals.com will reimbourse me as I took the insurance. In reality, I had some contact with them but they were asking unrelevant questions and ask me to send the files and said they never received it. Their goal is to continue until the customer abondon its claim. Which I did after one year of going back and on and back,...
Basically, if you really want to save the extra money, my advise would be:
1.Don't do it with economycarrentals.com
2. If you really have to; take the additional insurance from the renting company and not the one from economycarrentals.com (which is a trap)
Be aware that this website hides behind the shape of words that they display in their general conditions. Indeed they speak at all times of credit card and leaves you only 2 options for payments, credit card and PayPal. But this does not prevent them from debiting your DEBIT CARD for their fees knowing that their providers will probably ask you for a CREDIT CARD.
Of course, once their commission has been debited from your DEBIT CARD, you end up with a rental that cannot take place because the service provider requests a CREDIT CARD, WITH ALL THE DISADVANTAGES IN WHICH THE SITUATION LEADS YOU.
ESPECIALLY DO NOT COUNT TO BE REFUNDED because they will hide behind the term CREDIT CARD that they display at all costs, except for their commission for which there is no problem to charge you.
I therefore submitted the case to my bank with a view to contesting this debit which they do not want to reimburse.
My case is recent since it dates from the end of February 2021 and I strongly advise against this unscrupulous, incompetent and disdainful site of its customers. A SHAME.
