I have rented cars from EconomyCarRentals on many locations over many years. Everything has always worked very fine indeed - also the rare time og maybe two, when something unexpected happened. I can very much recommend this company both regarding very good prices and overall service:-)
Don't forget that EconomyCarRentals is a broker who finds available car rental companies among the rental companies. Their policy when a rental is changed in one way or another (e.g. Arriving late) is very broad and allows them to practically let you down and run off with your deposit regardless of the reason. If your flight or your ferry arrived late that's your problem. This is what happened to me. As I arrived more than 30 minutes late, the company treated this as a "no show", therefore when I arrived, my car was no longer available (for a 4 days rental!) and I was left to my own devices and without a car with all my luggage. I contacted EconomyCarRentals and was lectured that I should have notified them of my delay and that my deposit was lost. So please don't do business with them! Instead, deal directly with the rental company rather than a broker!
They were very organised. So the paperwork etc went quick during handover. However their deposit is very high. However, the overall experience was very good and I will definitely recommend them.

For many years I am customer and I never have had any troubles with ECR nor with the rental companys. The cars where always in very good conditions, sometimes nearly new and I alsways will prefer ECR for rent an car!
Reserved the car through this service, on arrival into place to the company Global on the island of Corfu, the manager told me that they did not receive any prepayment in the sum of 38 euros, and for the remained 38 euros it is not favorable to it to hand over me the car after I began to swear it began to process documents, but right there told me that I have not the correct driver's license and it will not give the car to me. I went to the next office of the Exploerer Corfu company and within 5 minutes received the car, with the license of course it appeared correct, economycarrentals deposit refused to return, I will never use this service any more and I recommend to nobody

This website regularly finds better rates than other, larger, trusted car-rental comparing sites. However, they are never the cheapest option as they are full of dirty little tricks. One is the currency exchange rate, that is extremely attractive on the search page, but one of the worst by the time they charge you. (the search page will show you say 19 USD a day, that is in fact 22-23 once booked). Once you figure out the search results are dodged, and you havnt made the best deal, you go ahead and cancel it (as it says your booking is 100% refundable), however, what they never refund is their booking fee. Just from last month i found out from my credit card statment, i lost 8 usd by booking and canceling two times with them... NEVER TRUST THIS WEBSITE, ITS DODGY. AVOID.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY SERVICES, BECAUSE YOU'LL HAVE BAD HOLIDAYS. If something happens with a car, you'll have a lot of problems with insurance. In other words, you pay for the insurance, but in reality you're not insured.
We've rented a car in Sicily through this system and "Sicily by car". We had full insurance with excess. When wheel caps were stolen, company charged us for 280 Euro and Economy Car Rental doesn't refund money.
It turns out there are a lot of exceptions, so you're not safe neither from theft (TP) nor from collision (CDW), even if the voucher says differently. All exceptions are hidden in terms of other insurance. Also, you need to wait answers for days, you need to call, but after that they just ask to resend your email. It seems that they want to delay your issue solving.
So I do not reccomend this company. Avoid if possible. You could rent a car "economically", but after an accident you'll have a lot of non economically problems.
My rental experience was stressful to say the least. I booked online, like we all do, and received a confirmation. I had the required proof of insurance but when I went to get my car, they wanted to see my policy! Who does that? If you don't have your insurance policy, they require you to pay for extra insurance. On top of that, they charge your credit card $500 incase you scratch the car. They do credit it back in the end. What then is the purpose of showing an insurance policy? They also try to upcharge you via scare tactics. They threaten to charge you for a full tank of gas if you return the car with less than a full gas guage. When I got to the car, the tank was barely above 1/2 (see photo) and there was no one around to inform them of this situation. Fortunately, I took pictures and I did have to prove the original level of gas when I returned the car.
I think that the company was short staffed but that is no excuse for the procedures required to rent a car. In fact, I think it may be illegal. If I could give less than 1 star, I would.

Do not rent from Economy Rental Car Costa Rica, we were charged over 3 times the amount agreed to on line before arrival... mandatory liability insurance they called it. We booked a 4 wheel drive Jimny and they switched it with a Hyundai model which could not easily handle the dirt roads we had to travel. When we returned the car the employee at the office told us the car looked fine and he initalled the form and sent us happily to the airport. 2 weeks later they charged my credit card over $1300. 00 for damages and didn't tell me, I didn't realize until 4 weeks after the drop off when I received an email showing the invoice and photos of "a" car that certainly was not the one we dropped off which we had just had professionally cleaned. It was dirty and had damage and a dent. We had no dents, damage or dirt on the car when we returned it. They bait and switch at first then fraudulently charge you for damage you did not do. DO NOT rent from Economy Rental Car, San Jose Airport location Costa Rica
Used your website since a long time and very happy about the prices and services. I had a claim one time and the excess reimbursement process was well processed. All is clear!

I have sent emails throughout the year to EconomyCarRentals.com for an update. No reply to email, no phone call from them, no update from them - NOTHING!. I have lost over £600 and they just don't care about the customer. Next is to escalate to the UK European Consumer Centre to step in and help.

My case is still open (from 1st Sept 2017) with these crooks. No response to several emails asking for an update. Help desk just fobs you off by saying they cant help and that I need to email customer service and wait for a reply (ridicules). Can anyone advise how I can escalate my case? Which governing bodies or organisations do they answer to? Seems like they are getting away with bad business practices and not being held accountable for them. Thanks in advance.

NEVER RENT FROM THIS COMPANY. They advertise fake price and fake cars. They show you completely different car and different rate online on the website, but when you go pick up the car you will old, poor, and much smaller car and that too in much more expensive rate that they showcase on the web. I had the worst experience. Please DO NOT GO WITH THEIR FAKE ADVERTISED PRICES AND CARS online.
My rental in Sicily resulted in a failed attempt to scam me for 180 euros for so called damage, on a car that had over 30 items of damage at the start of the rental and despite the fact that I put in place excess waiver insurance.
When I complained to this mob, they did nothing to support me, leaving me to deal with their rogue supplier in Sicily, whose name is Easycarhire [AVOID them too].
I tracked down the contact details of their CEO, who did not bother to reply and the only reason why I prevented a very clear scam was that I was persistent and would not be bullied.
The call centre of this firm is staffed by people who are not interested in helping you and even after I forced their supplier to apologise to me, this lot issued no such apology to date.
I did get a very rude email from them after their supplier apologised - all this company want is your booking and the commission they get for placing you with a dodgy supplier.
I will never use Economycarrentals or Easycarhire ever again and I urge others to learn from my shocking ordeal, which has also put me off from returning to Sicily again.

Since I have return the car on 6th Apr, the company hasn't refund my deposit. Under the standard agreement the deposit should refund back the deposit to customer within 21 days after return the car. I have sent many back & forwards. No solution given by EconomyCarRentals to resolve the matter.

I rented a car in Orlando for 3 days. The day after we rented it we got a call from my husband' sister in Savanah Georgia. His father was in the hospital in critical condition and we needed to
Drive there immediately. We phone Economy car rental to ask if we could take the car to Georgia.
They said NO. We then had to drive 1 & 1 / 2 hours from where we were at the Daytona 500 speed way to Orlando Airport instead of going straight to Savannah. We returned the car and had to find another rental car at the airport. Due to it being a busy weekend cars were really difficult to find.
Also when we returned the car they told us that there was no refund for returning the car early.
So we would have to forfeit the rest of the rental money we had already paid.
However, if my Father in law died then I could send them the death certificate and they would look into the matter for me, NO guarantees of course. He did die and we barely made it there in time to say goodbye. So in humane.

I just had one of the BEST rental car experiences I've ever had! My layover in FLL was 11 hours and I was about to get an Uber but something said "check out the price to rent a car". I found Economy and it was only $26. PERFECT! Cheaper than UBER! The Economy van was right there when I got off the bus, as if someone told them I would be there any minute. Then when I got to the Economy office, I was helped immediately by Corey. He was extremely nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. In less than 10min, I was in my rental and on my way. He did an EXCELLENT job explaining everything step-by-step. I AM STILL VERY PLEASED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE!

I recommend dealing with the company and will book next time on their way.
BE AWARE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. FAKE INSURANCE IS NOT ACCEPTED AT THE CAR PICKUP. When you call to talk to someone they just send you to a voice mail. That takes 7-10days to talk to someone. Don't trust them!
