We are a residential school who has students coming and going regularly Edgenuity helps us to place and help all their individual needs. The material is interesting. This is a very good tool for our program.
Edgenuity is probably the most grueling educational website of all time. You are forced to watch unskippable and very boring lectures that feel forced and extremely unengaging. It's also really easy to fall behind since you are given assignments every day. If you are finding an educational platform for students to use, DON'T choose edgenuity.
I don't think my concern was addressed well. I feel like Edgenuity didn't own the problem and instead placed the problem on the backs of the students. My concern is primarily about equity and I think Edgenuity should own the problem by finding a way to deliver content that is accessible to all students. My students in general have a hard time with the Performance Tasks format... which is missing key information/photos that they need to complete the task. When over half of my students can't download the content without it missing information, that becomes an equity issue. If they were in PDFs or something that all computers recognized that would be so helpful. However, Edgenuity just said that they could see all the content on their end and so that the problem is with how students are accessing it and gave detailed instructions (that middle schoolers would have a hard time following) on how to update software/computers/etc. I strongly believe that if they used a different format to share the performance tasks with students that most, if not all, students could access the material. As educators it is our responsibility to make things equitable. When I share documents with students, those documents are not missing key elements. Edgenuity creates documents that are not easy to access in their entirety and thus, sets up students to fail.

So my school choose Edgenuity as a online learning due to the corona pandemic. IT IS HORRIBLE! I do about 9 to 10 hours a work in a day because the lessons are SO FREAKING LONG! And the videos are outdated. We were learning about somebody they said he was still alive. I looked him up. He died 5 years ago. Like uhhhh why. And I had this super long essay due and it said that I could do it in like two days. UH HECK NAH! And i have the most useless class on the planet. "Online learning and Digital citizentship." Like i mean its such a waste of time. And it always is super glitchy. I have other things to do after school and it just like takes up my entire day. My little brother only had 1 THING TO DO TODAY AND I HAVE LIKE EVERYTHING TODAY! Also when you are not able to move on and it just yells at you because something takes forever, IT IS SO STRESSFUL! For your own sake, STAY AWAY FROM EDGENUITY! IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE!

The speed of response and the clarity of the explanation by Lian were great to respond to a student who, I believe, was trying to get past undone work using imagined technical excuses.

Devyn did a great job helping me out! It took me awhile to figure out how to explain the problem to Devyn, but once I did, the response was fast and correct.

While this website does its job, its job is done poorly and other websites do things better.
Lessons: If you fail the pre-test you are forced to retake the entire lesson which is unfair, On some other websites you either don't do a pre-test at all or the lessons are given out based on your performance on the pre-test, being forced to do every single lesson if you fail the pre-test is bad design.
The unskippable videos: While I get that the videos are meant to help teach the lesson, some videos are honestly pointless. Other websites like Kahn academy don't force you to do videos, they are optional.
The "Support": On this website, if you fail a problem you basically are told you're wrong and we're not gonna tell you why or elaborate, once again other things like Khan Academy gives you hints and will explain step by step why you may be wrong and how to do it correctly
Time Cosumance: This website is time-consuming, I don't think I should be forced to hear a narration of what you're supposed to be doing every single time.
Overall a poorly designed website
Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site for students, use something like Khan Acadamy, at least it's fair in comparison to this website

As of the beginning of this year, my school went online and signed everyone up for this site. I am not sure who decided this was a good website to learn from, but they made a huge mistake. At first, things seemed ok. Though the teachers didn't seem too care much about teaching, or really know what they were talking about, it wasn't too bad. Flash forward to today, and I have countless overdue assignments because of how ridiculously tedious everything is. This is how the website is set up: watch some videos of inexperienced teachers overexplain obvious things while underexplaining fundamental rules. After the videos, do an assignment, take a quiz, and repeat. There is hardly any variation, and way too much busywork. There are never any interesting activities, just the same thing over and over. I used to have all A's in school. I have since been getting mainly C's, some B's, and an occasional D or E. Unless you are prepared to learn absolutely nothing, I cannot recommend anyone sign up for this.

I am an 11th grader right now, I moved out of state to the Caribbean for my dad's work but wanted to keep an American curriculum. My school had an online learning database for students who were moving out of state or country that wanted to keep in the district. Our main learning platform is Edge, and let me say I have moved 11 times in 16 years and have never, ever had a worse schooling platform. This is by far the absolute worst way to teach kids. It's demotivating, worsened my depressive episodes, has awful service and the videos are like 20 years old. If your a parent reading my review please head my warning and DO NOT CHOOSE THIS SITE. Please for your kids pick something better.
Edit: I've been reading more reviews and please discard the one that say 5 stars, there either delusional or getting paid. I no absolutely NO ONE who likes this site. I've been a straight A student for 15 years, this year I got 2 C's and 2 B's. Don't take this course unless you want to have severe depression and want to end your existence.
Tip for consumers:
PLEASE DON'T USE THIS SITE EVER

This software is very horrible for students. One, in every lesson (preferably math ones) they teach us a few things. It'll go from "Oh, I understand" to "What even is this?". Also, when it comes to the assignments and quizzes it never asks any questions about what was taught in the lesson. For example, I was taught how to solve literal equations and formulas using WHOLE numbers without having to do any extra work. By this I mean, in the assignment part of the section, it made us do this with PERCENTAGES and even if I calculated the percentages right, it didn't even teach us how to solve with the percented value so I was failing most of the assignment. Also, the grades. I can be doing very good on a course (getting a 70-100 on all the assignments and quizzes) yet if I get one 0 preferably on the journals of a course, I drop down to 70 which is a C. Another thing about the journals is, you can answer the question completely and still get a 0 because it's not in their own words. The question can even ask you to input YOUR OWN opinion about a topic and when you do, you get a 0

Brayden Sutton (Edgenuity) responded very quickly to my question about student voices not recording in Spanish class; the "fix" response was very thorough!

I reached out to the online chat option for an issue I was having with unlocking tests. TWICE I was disconnected from the agent (the screen literally shows "Agent has left the chat)-I attached the screenshot to this feedback. I am sure you know how frustrating it is to go through all of the details, spend 20 minutes back and forth and then be told to "Hold while we look into this for you" only to have the agent leave the chat, leaving me without an answer. And then, to have to do this all over again with another agent who DOES THE EXACT SAME THING TO ME!
I ended up calling the 800 number and waiting on hold for 12 minutes for someone to answer-luckily he was able to tell me what the issue was but this had now taken my entire class period. And let me just say, this was not the first time-they did this with me previously when I did online chat asking about an answer key.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE-I am writing an email to the District to make sure that they know just how awful this platform is.

Edgenuity is a very bad website because of its unskippable videos and how boring it is my school has been using this website for our schools "SWARM program" and the teachers call it "mypath" and every time i try to explain to my teachers of how this site is extremely bad it is they will brush it off so every day in my swarm class i have to sit though it every day im tired of working on this website and i want it taken down!

My daughter was pushed into this program from her school district during the return of school post hybrid. While she seemed to like the format and the teacher interraction and such at first. Two weeks into the program I had the school principal calling me and telling me that she was to be dropped from the program due to lack of involvement. The only communication that had ever been sent was to the students, nothing to the parents! The activities while easy to follow and understand were completely unclear to the student as to when they were to be "done" for the day. It was explained to the parents that the student should be logged on and working for 4 hours a day, it is unclear to the student what they are to be completing in those 4 hours. I have asked for a parent login and it has taken over a week of back and forth to be told I have to now go to my daughters school to be given login information so that I can follow her progress. This has all been VERY frustrating for us parents, muchless the kids!

Unfortunately, during the beginning of our year, our french teacher left for a new position at a new school. The students got a choice to either take a different course, aka starting a brand new langue after 2 years, OR enroll in an online French class. While some students choose to leave most stayed in hoping of a learning experience with an online french class. We were informed of how this website worked, and how efficient it would be. While also teaching time management and independence to the students we were expecting to learn french. Let me tell you that was the opposite of what we encountered. Multiple students have been complain and struggling with the amount of assignments that Edgenuity gives, when their is short periods of time. Edgenuity promised to be on our schedule and yet we still have assignments on days we are off. On tests there are a maximum if 2 takes, If you fail both you have to email a teacher to get passed, or another re-take. But, when the teacher is out of office every other week and rarely answers their email it is hard to answer and move on a course. Their job is to help, teach and create a good learning experience for students and that has not been shown. Since they have not answered nor moved us on we had no choice but to sit and watch the over due assignments flow in one by one raking up by the days. I feel as if there is no solution after emailing our principal, having a meeting with him, to get the teachers attention we have nothing left to do but complain. Multiple students have gone through this, and are needing help. The students are not learning, being active, or even getting a chance to know a new language.

I am a senior in highschool, and went virtual for health problems. If you are someone who struggles with mental health or depression or just have a child who may be lazy. This is NOT the app for you. There are no such thing as missing a day or going on vacation or being sick if you use this. If you do your work everyday, that is the literal only way you will pass. If you miss even a single day, it is so hard to catch back up. This website is so mentally draining and exhausting. Too many videos and to much pointless work. I could not tell you a single thing i've learned because I haven't learned anything. It is so boring and most the time I just play a game while the videos play. Please, if your child wants to do this, please show them this and tell them what they're getting into. If you're a person who is always on top of it then it is really easy to have good grades as well as using brainly. If i didn't have brainly i'd be failing. But it takes me a hour to two hours to complete work in a day and I have all As. But when I had Covid and ding do work i was144 hours behind and that was the worst time of my life. So please find a better app taht cares about the students.

The amount of stress this ridiculous program has caused my 7th grade honor student, is unbelievable. If logged in too long, it counts idle times against her grades, if not logging enough time, she is failing due to lack of time spent. She spends literal hours printing pages, filling out "guided notes," taking pictures of each page and uploads them every week to prove she is working. The alternative to printing at home is to run another software program simultaneously called Kami, resize each text box, type in her "guided notes," and upload these pages to Google docs. Her whole class started 2 days after the teacher had set them up, which means not only were her assignments Month 1, week 2 actually skewed ( and she had to remember to accurately title each upload accordingly to NOT coincide with the programs dates,) but it also meant that the ever and continually fluctuating grade percentage calculator would show a failing grade. Since she was started 2 days after the program marked students as "start date," this means no matter how much work she would do, she would always be 2 days behind and thus failing. Talk about demotivating.

During the Covid pandemic, my 2nd grade daughter has been givrn thr option for virtual school. I said yes. The school chose edgenuity. The SIS video, which I have watched several times because I thought I might have missed something, is not what is on my daughters platform. Half of the things you cannot find. She has absolutely NO teachers assigned to her. All 7 courses have no picture of a teacher, they all have the same email which is, *******@edgenuity.com and the same phone number which is, *******333. I have sent several emails the past 2 weeks. NO REPLY. Because it is obvious there are no REAL teachers. It is asking for a submission on Arts and Crafts, yet it does not say what is to be submitted. I am frustrated. My daughter is very confused. You call the only number that edgenuity has and it tells you to leave a name and number because they are experiencing high call volume. Every. Single. Time. On the recording it says there is a chat button on your screen. WHERE? It is NOT on ANY page of this platform. There are things missing from this. How is my daughter supposed to learn? How is she supposed to pass 2nd grade when there are clearly no teachers on this platform and they are asking for submissions of things that are not there. Explain that to me. I will never recommend this poor platform to ANYONE. EVER.
