We are a residential school who has students coming and going regularly Edgenuity helps us to place and help all their individual needs. The material is interesting. This is a very good tool for our program.
Edgenuity is probably the most grueling educational website of all time. You are forced to watch unskippable and very boring lectures that feel forced and extremely unengaging. It's also really easy to fall behind since you are given assignments every day. If you are finding an educational platform for students to use, DON'T choose edgenuity.
Out dated! Boring videos! Submitting work is impossible! Not compatible with google docs! Why our school district picked the worst rated school learning app/website is beyond me. My daughter hates watching the boring videos!
Terrible, constantly glitches, treats opinions as fact, and doesn't teach anyone anything and doesn't do anything to help teach what you don't know. I've done edgenuity for a few years and never once retained a single lesson. Teachers, Don't be lazy just teach like your payed to do.
Tip for consumers:
Just Don't, find a different site
The help desk at Edgenuity has a 24-hour turn around time, even on weekends. When I have a problem with a student assignment and I report it through Edgenuity, they will address it by providing a solution.
Had an issue with Edgenuity. I contacted Customer Support via the on-line help center. I received an reply in less than 30 minutes. The support rep answered my questions thoroughly and checked to see if I had any more questions.
This app is mandatory at my school, however, whilst I learn algebra, Edunuity tries to teach me slope. Aside from the fact it is random and the tests are far to hard, Edgunuity is not a good learning program because it is not engaging. It is lame and easy to cheat. I put the lyrics to Fire Coming Out of a Monkeys Head and got a 100 on a slope quiz, but when I try I get zeros. https://www.change.org/p/get-schools-to-stop-using-edgenuity-ban-edgenuity
The Edgenuity middle school science program is terrible throughout. From a teacher who makes mistakes in her presentations and then apologies, to quizzes that ask questions not covered in the coursework and not having correct answer options for the simplest of questions. For example, their question was "What is the definition of science?" and their correct answer was the definition of scientific knowledge. The teacher, the software and the construction of the course is awful. We had our 6th grade homeschool daughter drop the course after 3 lessons.
Middle school math has numerous software bugs in their assignments. Our daughter gets the answer correct, but the software doesn't like the explanation and marks it incorrect, even though the answer is correct. If your school offers multiple curriculum options, choose something other than the very poorly designed Edgenuity.
Edgenuity responded surprisingly quickly to my request that a particular quiz question be corrected. The presumably correct answer choice had a flaw which could have led higher level students to reject it. The Edgenuity team modified the answer so that it was in fact correct.
An error message kept appearing everytime I wanted to add a student to a class. The technician helped me trouble shoot several things in order to fix the error message. Other than having to wait on hold along time, the technician was patient and listened to my concern and helped get the problem resolved in a short amount of time.
I understand that during a pandemic, many districts have turned to online learning platforms. It would be hard to find one worse than Edgenuity. Once you get passed the 7 steps to save an upload a file (before determining you can just upload a photo), you get to tangle with wrong quizzes and online activities, paragraphs of text my first grader can't follow or read on her own, little cohesion, and a rapidly accelerating expectation of work. Do some research and you will find they have given money to lobbyist groups and value students as numbers and view teachers as project managers. Somehow, 1st grade was unable to opt out of using this, although K and 2nd grade did at our school. I don't expect to NOT help my 6 year old while she's remote learning, but I DO expect a program which has correct answers and follows her grade level.
I am a student and have been using edgenuity for around two months. By far the hardest months of my high school experience. I have never been flooded with so much useless busywork. At points, it feels like your brain is numb from the constant work. Quizzes almost daily and unit tests every week. The projects are ridiculous, they take hours, give little to no real direction, and I have to jump through hoops just to make my files acceptable to the limited program. I have to use outside resources to actually learn because the videos that "teach" you are the most unengaging lifeless forms of education. I went through the online school, distanced learning with teachers was very difficult. And yet somehow this is hands down worse in almost every way. Edgenuity should serve as a punishment not an alternative.

TURN AROUND BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. EDGENUITY IS HORRIBLE!
My child has always been an A-B honor roll student in public school and homeschool. She passed her college SAT in the 7th grade. She's been using this site through her school for a little less than a month and is already behind. She has to take hours of notes (some with teachers that are too quiet to fully understand) per class, filling at least nine pages in each notebook, then is expected to do two quizzes every day in all of them. Sometimes she's up until 2 or 3 AM--and is still behind. All but two of her classes are on this website. The two Google Classroom classes' work is caught up and her grades are good. Edgenuity curriculum is obviously outdated and needs revision. We're about to switch to actual homeschooling because this is so bad!
We were forced to use Edgenuity since we chose the online schooling for my daughter's school district due to the Coronavirus. It is little more than video then test, zero interaction and beyond disappointing. When we first started the weekly emails they gave us percentages and her were usually on target or close to it. 8 weeks in her school district liaison says btw those emails don't reflect her grade. They switch the emails over and same day I go from believing that she is doing well to she is failing! My daughter is usually an A/B student! Now 2 semesters in and it seems like she will never catch up. We will either take our chances with the virus or find a better online school!
My daughter is in grade 7 and using Edgenuity. She has used Edgenuity for over a year. She has excelled with Edgenuity. HOWEVER, I have to spend hours tutoring and mentoring her. I believe that there are subject matter gaps. I add my own knowledge and provide more examples. My daughter finds the lessons boring, because it's always the same routine of warmup, instruction, summary, assignment, and quiz. So, I usually see what is gong to be taught with the guided notes, find other material (especially try to find books that her peers are using), and look for other online lectures. Edgenuity is a good starting point, but I would suggest not to expect it to be the ONLY tool for your kid's online learning. You'll be disappointed if you only use Edgenuity.
Their customer service representatives do the best that they can. But, every customer service rep that I've spoken to, has been difficult to understand.
I'm a teacher and I don't recommend this website at all. Many of my students have complained about the countless glitches and whenever they use different devices to complete assignments they lose all progress. The format is very repetitive and confusing. I definitely don't recommend this website.
As a homeschool curriculum facilitator, I am familiar with a wide variety of online learning platforms. In my opinion, Edgenuity is one of the better platforms that is offered. It is very easy for the student to navigate, accommodates both visual and auditory learners, and has immediate feedback on incorrect answers in their check for understanding sections. The content is also extremely customizable per individual student (IEP accommodations) and is not a cookie-cutter curriculum.
I like the way the company handles questions/concerns with the scheduled meeting times. My questions were addressed promptly and the customer service rep was very professional and knowledgeable.
There are three things that I would like to see improvement on:
1. Guided notes that do not equate to printing 600 pages per class
2. Unit tests that can be modified to reduce the number of possible answers (from 4 to 3 choices) for IEP students.
3. Policing the online cheating.
At a juvenile detention facility, the students arrive having many different backgrounds. Some have played on their phones instead of working on Math. Some have been in trouble and have missed many months of school - and Math. A few have amazing skills - in Math. As you may have guessed, I am the Math teacher! I teach Math from grades 6 through 12. Sometimes all of the levels will be in the same class! With Edgenuity, I am able to put each student in the class that is most needed. Am so thankful to have a tool so well suited to our situation here.
I called for customer support. The support staff member was able to answer my question immediately and help me solve my problem right away.
I might also add that I have been using this program as an educator for many years. The students who are invested in the program and take it seriously, rather than trying to take "shortcuts" and avoid doing the work, are the ones who experience the most success with the program. The ones who prefer to let the videos play while they do other things and then expect to do well on the assessments are the ones who experience the most difficulty with the program.
It took 10 days to resolve a simple situation, no diagram was showing up for a geometric proof. Neither the student nor I could see it when we clicked on the assignment. Not good when the program depends on completing assignments before moving on. I was able to skip the assignment for her, but TEN DAYS to fix the situation, unacceptable!
This is hell, I hope my school lets us pass because this is not a good program. I was a A's and B's student, and now I have all f's and I have to do 500+ more lessons to get each class done to pass. Please I beg you Do not put your kid through this. It is not google classroom

Dont use this site.
My student had an issue with their Edgenuity course. I sent an email message to customer support.
I had a response within 10 minutes. After corresponding back and forth, the issue was resolved.
I was pleased. They responded quickly and my student was able to continue their coursework without any delay.

I had an issue with a completed course not showing 100% complete. I called, and was expecting a long wait time, but Brett answered immediately and was able to very quickly determine the cause and walked me through the fix. I was very impressed with how quick and simple this was!
Nope. Those aren't typos on the title. Edgenuity has been on high demand due to the pandemic, and that has only made their already dismal customer service/client support even worse. Can't get anyone on the phone, and when you ask for a call back... well... it's been 24 hours and I'm still waiting. Opening a ticket gets you a rote response. If you want service, you have to hit your account executive... hard. I'm on a first-name basis with mine, and I'm still pretty upset at how bad their customer support is. I could go on about the GUI and Reporting, but I'll limit my review to their customer service. On client service response alone, I would not recommend this program to anyone.
Tip for consumers:
Immerse yourself in their training videos ... cuz otherwise, you're on your own.
My son is in Edgenuity. There idea's of school programs is a freaking joke. My son is in 6th grade and his physical science class is in all reality a chemistry class that I was taught in 12th grade. He's freaking 12 NOT 18 teaching basic science should include some of the chemistry but NOT solving chemical equations. Plus the very first thing they tried to teach him was the periodic table again show it explain in some detail. Now let's move to World Geography this is move like a government or civics class I mean really how is the Political geography have anything to do with land formations and normal geography. As far as I'm concerned this whole program is a DAM waste of time and needs to be look into.
My son just got all F's from this site. I watched him spend hours watching the videos, answering questions, and even telling things, we worked on, and yet he's behind by a lot. I don't know why his school chose this site. This is a warning don't use this site.
I have reached out to customer service several times for assistance on a few different issues. I am always asked for account information for the student having the problem. I understand that may be needed sometimes, but when my initial inquiry was asking for more information about something that stated in a recent webinar to be available and I have been unable to find it. It has nothing to do with a specific student account. It has nothing to do with a specific class, and yet they asked for user affected account information.
Their response was for me to reach out to the individual in the webinar... It was literally held by this company, and their website. I asked where to find the worksheets available for needed additional review. Why can their own customer service not help me with this? Absolutely ridiculous.
