We are a residential school who has students coming and going regularly Edgenuity helps us to place and help all their individual needs. The material is interesting. This is a very good tool for our program.
Edgenuity is probably the most grueling educational website of all time. You are forced to watch unskippable and very boring lectures that feel forced and extremely unengaging. It's also really easy to fall behind since you are given assignments every day. If you are finding an educational platform for students to use, DON'T choose edgenuity.
I use this for my school work and there are various issues, from not being able to see what you did wrong on tests to correct them, to not even being able to fix assignments. Another issue I had was it would mark my answers wrong, then when I submitted a corrected version of the answer, it would change its own answer and mark the previously "wrong" answer right! It also feels like sometimes the teachers talk to you like you're stupid.
While Edgenuity's middle school curriculum is accessible and aligns with educational standards, it disappoints in crucial areas. The platform lacks interactivity and adaptability, and it doesn't incorporate real-world applications to engage students. Additionally, assessments do not align with lesson content and appear to be designed without a solid understanding of outcomes-based learning. Even with external tutoring, this curriculum has resulted in family stress and student demoralization. Edgenuity needs a comprehensive reevaluation to better serve student and family needs.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use. Stay far away and save your children from this awful experience.

So basically i used edgenuity to do my entire junior year and it was the worst experience i've ever had with any kind of education website. The pre-recorded teachers gave me nightmares, 90% of the information can be found copied and pasted on the internet. I did not learn a single thing.
This system is lazily designed and generally unhelpful for me as a teacher.
It looks as if no work has been done since it was initially constructed.
One of the huge holes that I found right away was in communication. The system does not let you easily send a message to several select students or communicate in the system with parent email addresses.
I send a message about this to the company and got this as a prize for my patience:

I have never read such nonsense from anyone not in a political position.
Either fix the product or tell us you won't.

Edgenuity is an excellent program that provides well-planned and rigorous content for students. I am highly appreciative of the outstanding support team that always ensures that everything we need is just an email/chat/call away. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because there are a few technological items that can be upgraded to enhance administrative user friendliness. However, what I also appreciate about Edgenuity is that they are responsive to feedback. So, I anticipate that sooner than later, they'll make some of the recommended updates to create a greater ease of use.
Worst learning program ever! I would know because I've been doing this crap for months. The worst part is that once you've agreed to do edgenuity, you've already agreed for the WHOLE school year! It's WAY too easy to get behind, and I've just had the worst experience with it. If it would let me, I would give edgenuity 0 stars. I'm sick of it.
What a waste of this this is! I wonder how much time was spent creating such stupid model of studying!
It confuses the child, takes their love of learning away.
Words do not make sense, problems don't add up and a robot voice is just the last thing u need!

Two words to describe this: Long and Complicating. About 15 lessons every day worth of like 10 minutes of complicated explanation each lesson. Our district assigned a diagnostic test and this platform gave us 132 questions. I heard if you're on your computer and you log out of your computer while one the test, your test gets locked. I don't know if that's true or not. Stick to Freckle, I Ready, Prodigy, or what I do: Search the answers. Any other website than this. Goodbye.
The school that set my son up on this had no idea. What she was doing. He's trying to do classes he hasn't yet learned and the classes are 2 grades above his. There are no textbook to refer to and lessons are not explained well. I contacted his teacher where he was attending but she was no help and said they didn't have any teachers to help. This should be taken down as it's not a teaching site for things not yet learned elsewhere. I'm out a lot of money purchasing many books which help with nothing.
It teaches in the absolute most boring way. I'm medicated for ADD and it is so uninteresting and poorly done that I can't even focus on it. The mics they use are so cheap they randomly decide to go from screaming at you to barely being able to hear them. I cannot explain how angry this program makes me.
This was the platform offered to the virtual learning students where my 7 year old attends school. After hours of frustration and wasted time, my son hit the nail on the head when he said, "learning isn't supposed to be like this."
I improvised moment to moment and was able to offer my child so much more that this farcical platform. That should be no surprise since I am genuinely invested in my son's intellectual curiosity and not trying to make a financial gain at the expense of trusting parents and teachers.
My family was unfortunately forced to start school with this platform at the Queen Creek Arizona Unified School District. It was the worst experience and had our child in tears both days. It's not user friendly. No thought was put into instruction. Parents were not sent supplies you need available to complete projects. It's a same this is what we think children deserve in our society. We switched after two days back to teacher led online school at the elementary and it's amazing. It almost seems like the school district picked the worst platform they could find to force parents to quit! Sad!

As a veteran teacher, I have been most impressed with the lessons on Edgenuity. The content is solid. The lesson process is a scaffolding process which is exactly what should be taking place in the traditional classroom. The quizzes and test are thorough. They do require more than rote memory. They require that you have paid attention to each lesson and can apply the information presented to you. THIS is where traditional classrooms are deficient. Many times the teacher makes the class wait on students who were absent or have special needs. Edgenuity does not make you wait. You are only accountable to yourself.
Just started online learning with my friend whos also doing Edgenuity. It was ok at first, but then we immediately agreed that it was just too boring and we dreaded the part of the day when we had to do it. It also turned out that one of the classes was teaching the wrong info for the test. The videos were way too long and I zoned out many times. Sometimes I find myself going on other sites to entertain myself. Definitely don't recommend, overall poor experience and I do hope in the future our school will endorse in other learning platforms.
I am a teacher and a parent. My daughter is using this for remote learning. She had been complaining that the tests cover material not addressed in the lessons. Initially admonished her for racing through and not paying attention, until I witnessed it myself. In a social studies unit test on colonial America there were 3/15 questions that required knowledge of more recent history to be able to fully comprehend the question and answers. For example, she was asked to evaluate a political cartoon from the 1921 Emergency Quota Act for bias. She is a 7th grader learning about the events that preceded the revolution. How can she evaluate a political cartoon about an event she knows nothing about? How is that a fair assessment of her knowledge?
This program is poorly made, does not break down curriculum properly for all learners and is quite frankly a waste of time. I am tutoring 18 students from multiple districts in my state who are using this program, and I am forced to actually teach them everything after each lesson. I guess this program is an attempt to do the job of a lazy ELA teacher or district and I highly do not recommend. If your childs school uses this, expect to become a teacher overnight and your child to not receive the education your tax dollars are paying for.
I have all B+ and A- in my classes, and I don't really hate it that much. But I feel like i need to state my opinion, anyways, Edgenuity is below perfect for many reasons, it takes the amount of time it takes for a tree to grow for the teachers to say one singular word. Remember that one thing i said about my grades? Those were cheated! Yeah! This website barely teaches anything, whenever there's a lesson being taught, my brain goes into sleep mode and everything I hear goes into one ear and out the other. Onto the glitches, sometimes whenever I go onto an assignment, some parts will just not show up, and I am required to either go back to last part and go to the next part again or straight up just reload the assignment. Also it takes everything a long time to load in general (might be cause I use Microsoft Edge)
Basically, if you don't want to get Timmy Turner'd when you go to public, if you see Edgenuity then run 100 meters away from it and burn it with fire.
The lessons are terrible. Vague, repetitive, and drawn out. They refuse to provide necessary information or material until you do a quiz. The most annoying thing is how it forces you to stay on a lesson page until a video or audio clip has completed. Sometimes it's just a short bit of text to read that you have to sit on for minutes until you can continue. Whoever's job it is to format this site has little to no care for those who actually use it.
This platform was developed by lazy or incompetent programmers, there are so many design flaws I can't even keep count. Not to mention the curriculum is not appropriate for children growing up in the Southwest. Where are kids living in Arizona supposed to find a maple leaf for their science lesson? Our school is using it for kindergarten and these poor kids cannot even read, how are they supposed to read the directions. If your school uses this platform I suggest finding a new school ASAP.
I went to customer service for a complaint. The agent who help didn't say anything like, "I'm sorry this happened" or, "I hope you don't experience something like thos again." He was also very slow to respond to the messages I sent.
It would be really nice if, when I email about an issue that I'm having with a couple of students' classes, the response I receive actually had a solution to the problem rather than a more technical explanation of what I already told them. Utterly useless.
I have contacted support several times about the sound being so low that students can not hear it. I have not received any substantial answers except to try closed captions, try another server or device. I feel that these options are very disrespectful and dismisses to students who might be struggling with various learning issues or financial difficulties. Reading at a quick pace in closed captions doesn't work for everyone and not all students have access to multiple devices within the home or the financial stability to access a new one. Consequently several of my students are falling behind and getting very frustrated. I have tried recording the videos for my students but since the video pops up in a separate screen it doesn't record the video or audio. I don't feel that this platform is equitable for all and really only works well for students who are financially stable, learning issue free, and have had the opportunity for a well structured life and education.
This is a really great homeschool option! I do like that you won't get marked if you turn in an assignment late. The only reason I didn't give it a full 5 star review is because I feel like some of it can be overwhelming at times. If I get sick I have to choose between getting behind and having to make it up with a lot of extra work, or work anyway even though I'm sick.
I was having trouble connecting with the student's assignments online so that I could read them over while the student was also looking at the same assignment. As soon as Edgenuity got my message and understood exactly what it was I was having trouble with. The problem was solved. I am very thankful for this great program that allows teachers to focus on what's important, and that's the kid and their understanding of the work they are assigned. You guys rock! Thank you, seriously, thank you for what you do! Sandy B., Reno, NV
