I saw some of their reviews and shock they ever got a bad one, I have been using them for around a year and never had bad food, missing items or any issues with them at all. I think people are more likey to take time to write when something goes wrong, then when it goes as it should, so I am taking the time now. It has been going great, I would recommend them.
I have used (and loved) EveryPlate for a couple of years now. Occasionally there are subpar ingredients or something left out, but lately the quality has plummeted. My last two boxes have contained completely unusable, rotten, produce. Potatos that were black and soft, slimy scallions, smashed tomatoes, mushy bell peppers. When I called to inform them, I was given a credit for the cost of the vegetables. But that's not the point. A couple of bucks for rotten produce doesn't make up for the fact that I can't cook the meals without going to the store. I'm writing this review because I have gotten no satisfactory response from EveryPlate customer service. They very politely tell me how sorry they are, but I have yet to hear from anyone who can tell me what will change. I am sorry to say that if it happens once more, I will be cancelling my subscription.
I specifically told the company not to put pork in the box. I unsubscribed the service because of there was bacon in previous box! I When I called the customer service, they said you will get $25 for next order. I am not ordering from your stink business anymore. I ain't paying a penny anymore.
They want your credit card information before you browse the meals. Did not like the selection called to have my membership canceled. The rep hung up on me. Wanted to speak with a supervisor and she called me at 11pm at night. Nobody in America to talk too. I guess this is the companies way to shew off customers. They want your money not your complaints. Buyer beware
I was a reoccurring customer, they recycle their recipes so skip a lot of weeks but one of my deliveries never arrived because the box was damaged. Every Plate claimed they refunded my money but I had to wait like 3-4 weeks to see it show up in my bank. Guess what, never did! Contacted them, told them this. Waited another 1-2 weeks because the 1st agent lied to me said they'd reissue if I proved I never received it, then call again for another agent to tell me can't do nothing call your bank, my bank never received a refund to process! Now they're ignoring me! I'm contacting BBB & I'm going to do everything I can to make sure people know what kind of crooks this company is!
Tip for consumers:
DON’T USE IT!!!! Use Home Fresh instead, might cost more but better service, better recipes, healthier recipes and better quality of products and they won’t steal your money!
One lie after another. I've never felt like I got scammed more than I do after this experience. First order was delivered with an unfrozen raw chicken bag open and completely coating everything in the box with salmonella. Was offered my next box free, but was then charged $130 for the next box. I contacted customer service and "Gigi" refused to do anything to correct the charge. I was told it could be used on my next box. After this, there will NOT be a next box. BBB case was opened today.
I wanted to check out this meal delivery service, or course they won't let you even check out the app with out putting your cc number in. I was pretty sure i wanted to get this so i did. I didnt order anything, decided i didnt want it, but sure as hell they billed my cc, and over drafted it.
Tip for consumers:
Hello fresh is the patent company. When i asked to speak to a supervisor, i was told there were not available, so i asked to speak to the supervisor's supervisor. Funny how in the WHOLE company NONE were available.

They cheat you. You purchase once and they lock you into a recurring pay structure, and it costs a lot of money. They charged me $95 for a box of food I didn't want. They didn't tell me beforehand that they would do that and I called their support and they wouldn't offer a refund. A blatant scam and rip-off.

I got a food box, just the first one, and they renewed it without my consent
I went on the website to just see what their meal planning was like, and unfortunately I had to put in my credit card information before I could get the menus, so they sent me a box of food before I could cancel. I was hopeful that the meals would be good, even though I had no choice in what was sent to me, because they automatically set me up before I had that chance to choose, and was incredibly disappointed when the box came and it was leaking all over the place because the ice had melted... 5 the 20 new potatoes they sent me were rotten, and one of the two hamburger buns they sent me was stale because the packaging was open... it was absolutely the worst and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
My box was delivered to the wrong address which can happen but when contacting Everyplate
They wanted me to go and get my box from a strangers house which once I investigated where the house was it was a 15 minute drive and it was pouring rain by this time because I was on a half hour chat with
Everyplate they had no resolution for me. I have to go grocery shopping now.

I tried EveryPlate, selected my meals and delivery date. I soon realized I had to change my delivery date to the following week. That being said I spoke with a representative to do so. No problem they said. Well I received my box and it was not the meals I chose. I call and let them know what happened. The guy on the phone was like well I can refund you the money or give you a credit to go back and order again. I chose the credit. Credit was not applied called back same day after being on phone for more than 20 minutes customer service said there was nothing they could do. No refund or credit.
I went on my account to look at an old recipe and then all I knew is my account was charged 50$ I called to explain it wasn't me it wasn't even being sent to my address. They said I didn't call in time and now can't get a refund. I said this is fraud that is not even my address. And they pretty much said "well too bad" and hung up. I tried to call back and they turned their phones off!
Tip for consumers:
Just go grocery shopping
They get you in for a 60$ dollar free meals and then it signs you for a subscription and doesn't tell you that. The food was horrible the the directions didn't tell you how to do anthing. This is a complete scam and rip off
Tip for consumers:
Don’t even sign up because I tried canceling and they still didn’t cancel it

As a senior I have found this to be working extremely well for my husband and I. Being a senior I have found prepping the ingredients ahead has shortened my time on my feet in kitchen. Ie: prepping fresh veggies in advance.

I got an email thank you for my order. I chatted with them telling them I did not order anything. They said they would cancel the order. I removed them from my email. Several days later I found a package on my front porch with melted ice and warm meat. I called them. They said they canceled my account and issued a credit. I checked and the credit is for future orders. Do not open an account with them
Tip for consumers:
Do not sign it. It will process an order

You have to call and cancel the subscription, super inconvenient for busy people with multiple jobs. I usually will skip as far ahead as it let's me. I left e town for the weekend for my bday so I didn't check my personal email Friday, which is the day the send the reminder of shipment. Wake up Monday to see 65.00 charged and 3 meals they autopicked, that my family won't eat and now they say it's too late to cancel the shipment even though it hasnt been shipped yet. I will never sign up with everyplace again. Did I mention I just spend 250 on groceries yesterday so there's that ugh
EveryPlate has horrible customer service. They try to be shady and take your money. I have skipped meals on time and still be charged. They refused to refund me the money when it is their fault. I have canceled before as well. Still was charged and they refused to refund me money. This is how you lose customers period! It is wrong and I want my money back especially since I have done everything right on my end AND this happened before. Don't use this service. This company and hello fresh does the exact same thing. I'm done!
I was trying to look at the meals offered and before I could get to that area, was required to enter payment info. I NEVER placed an order - and NEVER received any type of order confirmation - but did receive an shipment notice! I called customer support and spoke to a very rude person who said there was nothing that she could do to cancel the shipment that I did not order. I called back and got another person and cancelled the account that I never intended to open!
They never delivered my box.
The tracking showed that it was in another city. I spoke with someone who gave me a $10 credit. The next day, I was notified that the box was delivered. It was sent to a different address in a different city. I spoke with someone else who offered a credit, told me that my box wouldn't be reshipped, and had to ask for a refund as it wasn't offered. The credit wasn't given and the refund wasn't processed. Had to contact them again as I was charged for a second box while still waiting to be refunded for the first one. That's how I found out that I wasn't refunded the first time. I was offered a refund for both orders that I'm still waiting on. Oh, and another box was delivered. To who, I have no idea.
Tip for consumers:
Don't
We tried everyplate for 3 weeks. We were on 4 meals for 4 servings weekly. The 2nd week 2 of the 4 meals I ordered no one liked. You get burnt out quick with the same meals basically every week with sauces that are changed. Rice, potatoes, and the same vegetables. Too much salt and.oil in every recipe. I found I can plan my meals for an entire week, get those ingredients delivered from the grocery store for half the price. The lazydish has great recipes and easy to use recipes.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid, plan your meals out and you will save way more money.
This company will take your money and not help you get a refund when the system automatically submits your box.
I spoke with 2 customer service reps (Lestor and Gema), the first one kept saying hello fresh (apparently he works for both). I made my account Friday, their automatic system charged my card and sent my box starting Saturday. The customer service line isn't open on weekends and they are responsive to their chat features. So I called this morning and I got the B. S saying I need to cancel 5 days before the delivery date... I explained to them I signed up 6 days before and my card was charged on day 5 and there's not e-mail that was sent out with the option to cancel the box (Lestor) as long as it was before day 5. I asked him to do the math and somehow I still should have gotten the email regardless... *insert face palm*
After spending 30-45 minutes on the phone being told they can do anything for me, I'm writing a review. I do not recommend them and now looking at other reviews I should have done that before I signed up.
I thought it'd be a great alternative to grocery shopping but it was just as expensive due to premium options being mailed. I still have to go find other options for this week and will spend the same amount just for lunch foods and weekends.
I've read reviews where the box didn't come on time and the items we're damaged or sketchy looking. I really hope that doesn't happen as if have to call CS again and I'm sure they'll not help me then either.
I've been a subscriber for several months and the food has been great. It's been a challenge to find meal plans that kids like, but we finally found it. Would recommend giving it a try.
After you sign up they give you a chance to choose the menus and that is when I realized they would be sending me crap, I cancelled immediately and send a note telling them NOT TO SEND ME ANYTHING, WELL THEY DID IT ANYWAY AND WHEN YOU CALL THEY SAY THEY DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS, BEWARE, THE BOXES ARE NOT WORTH WHAT THEY CHARGE!
Tip for consumers:
I wish I searched them before i signed up they have 1.7 star rating

Food but I never order anything that's the issue.
They aren't perfect, but my experience with this company has been significantly better than the other ones I've tried. I really enjoy the recipes and the prices are definitely better than the other box meal companies.
I have received some less than fresh ingredients, but honestly they aren't much worse than the grocery store. The few times the produce or meat was bad enough to toss out I complained and they refunded me or credited my account with no problem.
I really wish they had a better rewards program and sometimes I get emails saying I've been awarded several dollars off, but I never see the discounts reflected on my bill.
The app is very easy to use and I like how I can change meals up until the last moment and skip or cancel boxes at anytime, as long as they haven't been shipped yet.
I do wish you could request certain recipes. I would love to see a pork ramen recipe on there.
Utilizing the box meals about 4 recipes per week has really helped lower my grocery bill as well.
My box count is 42 and I would definitely recommend this service, especially if you're a single person or cooking for yourself and a spouse.
Tip for consumers:
Easy delicious recipes
I received my first delivery of the meals and a cream sauce had not been packaged correctly and it had exploded inside the box and everything was a huge mess. I called and asked if they could send me a replacement for the cream sauce and was told they could not, the only thing they could do was credit me the amount for the cream sauce. I explained because I have no idea what is in this cream sauce I can't make the meal without this key ingredient and it isn't something I can just go out and purchase on my own. I finally asked if I could speak to a supervisor because I thought this was ridiculous. I was told that is fine, but they will tell you the same thing. I was told I would received a call in 24-48 hours. I did not. So I called again and yes I was told the same thing, they cannot just send me the cream sauce and can't credit me the whole meal that I can't make because I don't have this key ingredient. What? This just seems odd they can send me a whole box full of stuff, but then can't make it right by sending me a key ingredient that was ruined with the first delivery? Or at a minimum can't credit me the meal that is now ruined because I can't make it without one of the key ingredients? First box experience not good, cancelled any future and will not use them again.
All of these negative reviews sound like Boomers who just do not know how technology works. No, they do not charge your card without your consent. No, they don't send you food you didn't order. No, they don't lock you into a subscription. No, they don't charge you before you even choose what you want. LOL. You have until Wednesday every week to make your meal choices, SKIP that week, or pause/cancel your account altogether. It's not rocket science. If you don't know how to read the terms and you don't pause your meals before Wednesday when you're going on vacation, that's a YOU problem. I just went to Mexico for 2 weeks and had zero issues pausing my account. And to the people claiming their customer service is bad and they "hung up on you" and then "turned off their phones" what are you even talking about? You seriously think an entire call center would go offline to avoid one random person's call? LOL! Their customer service is great. I got a full refund when something happened with one of my orders…ah yes it was during the blizzards and my order wasn't able to be delivered. Anyway. If you can't use a computer and don't know how to READ when it clearly says you have to input or pause/cancel your order by the previous Wednesday, then please stop using services like this. And to the lady complaining about portion sizes…this is actually what you're supposed to be eating LOL. You're just used to the oversized portions that have led to the obesity epidemic in the US.
