They enroll you in a subscription you know nothing about for anything you buy with them. Pathetic!

I ordered from fabletics in 2016, not realising I was signing up to their "terms and conditions". I managed to skip payment a couple of times, then being fed up with this process, tried to cancel, that was impossible to do on line. I rang to return an item and cancelled my subscription at the same time. Now months later, i find out they have still been taking the subscrition fee. I rang to ask for a refund, they argued i hadnt cancelled but was willing to give me 4 months subscription back. I accepted this, not knowing how many subscriptions I had actually paid. Then decided to look into this properly, my account amounted to £264! I rang back to ask for the remainder of my money to be told "WE OFFERED YOU 4 MONTHS AND YOU ACCEPTED IT SO WE CAN NOT GIVE YOU YOUR REMAINING MONEY BACK, AS THAT WAS THE OFFER YOU ACCEPTED" I did explain that the lady I had spoken to, did not tell me how much I had in my credit account but none the less, I couldn't have any more of MY money back.

This company is stealing money from people! I would not recommend any one using them. They continued to take money from my account, even after I had rang to cancel. Disgusting, getting rich on other people's hard earned money, by simply taking it from their account without any purchase!

My letter to them

Dear customer services

I ordered from your special marketing campaign a couple of months ago and signed up, as persuaded, to your VIP membership.

Straightaway I wanted to cancel but again persuaded not to but to wait and I'd be notified when my membership was due and to cancel then or take payment break. I wasn't informed and so missed the £49 that came out of my account on 09/08. As soon as I realised I cancelled my order via online help - Geo on 7 Aug. I used the £49 to buy a pair of leggings full price that I did not want for £47.95 and was assured the account was then closed (after much more truing from your operative to keep me) and that no more payments would be taken from the account and it was closed and could never be a VIP member again (his words). Imagine my surprise over a week later to find another payment of £47.95 has come out of my account and I tried to chat online. Was cut off. Rang to speak to customer services who was very difficult to understand and ‘Bella' told me today that that was the payment for the leggings. The leggings I didn't want but felt I had to buy something as you had my £49. Apparantly as it was Les than £49, it did not come out of my ‘credit' as I would have had to spend exactly £49 or more and pay the difference! So I've been charged now neatly £100 for a pair of leggings I didn't want and from a monthly ‘membership' I didn't want and is extremely hard to get out of and understand! I have said I don't want the leggings that have failed to arrive so far. I will go through the hassle of returning them for a refund and have been given a support email to complain to in the hope that I can also get back my £49 that they literally sign you up for as soon as you get lured in to make your first order and I am done.

Please can i have my hard earned money back - there is nothing else I want from your site and nothing valued at £49 anyway!

The outfits themselves are great- I ordered 2 outfits and both were good quality and were delivered quickly.

However, MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT GET VIP. I was very unhappy to find out that the VIP option automatically takes £44 from your bank account especially as I didn't realise that I had signed up for the VIP option- it automatically pops up for you to fill out your information when you make a purchase.

When I saw the money had been taken from my bank account I called (on a paid number) asking to cancel this, but was informed that I could only cancel my membership but then couldn't use the £44 until I re-instated the membership. I also was told I was not able to get a refund as it is in the terms on conditions that money will be taken automatically, however this is NOT CLEAR.

I will certainly not be using this company again due the lack of communication and lack of refund. It is such a shame because the sportswear itself is great and if it wasn't for this issue with money been taken automatically I would have bought further items.

I purchased a sports jacket from Fabletics online in January 2017. The website was advertising a one hour limited time 50% off offer and so I purchased the jacket for half the price thinking it was a good deal. Some months later, I noticed that Fabletics had taken £44 from my account. I could not recall purchasing an item from them since January 2017, and so I browsed my bank account and low and behold, Fabletics had taken £44 a month from my account 5 months in a row, totaling £220! When I looked into the matter further I discovered that Fabletics automatically sign you up to a "VIP Membership", and you actively have to opt-out of this, otherwise they charge you £44 each month. I did not knowingly give my authorisation to Fabletics to charge me £44 per month, and as I understand that the practice of automatically charging every month for something I don't want is known as Inertia Selling and is illegal under UK Law. SO how are they getting away with this. From looking online, thousands of people have had the same complaints and Fabletics social media pages are full of complaints from customers and endless apologies from Fabletics and "reassurance" that they are not a scam company. One poor customer had not realised he was being charged monthly until £900 had been taken from his account! I also understand that displaying a limited time 50% off purchases offer is unlawful under The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. It states that it is unlawful to "Falsely state that a product will only be available for a very limited time... in order to elicit an immediate decision and deprive consumers of sufficient opportunity or time to make an informed choice". Therefore I would conclude that this company is "scamming" it's customers. I did not agree with the "subscription" and was mislead due to Fabletics' unlawful practices.

I have since tried to request cancellation of my "subscription" and request a refund, however, the phone number that Fabletics give for you to contact has an extortionate rate and the online chat system never seems to load... I have therefore written a letter to Fabletics requesting the same, and have also had to contact my bank to request they block any future attempts to charge my account. There is also a dispute open to try to get my £220 refunded.

And all this because I bought one half price sports jacket... I am so disappointed with this company and dismayed that they are being allowed to continue to operate in the misleading and unlawful way.

Oplichterij
July 14, 2017
