I received damaged stud earrings from Gilt, via Eye Candy LA. This was due to Eye Candy improperly packaging them for shipment. If they had only boxed them!? Gilt handled my issue immediately sending a free return shipping label. They have great customer service
They advertised the red rouge bottle. I received some remake fake yellow stuff... And I paid $12 shipping. It is a scam... beware... see pics below... i am pretty good in detecting scams and did not detect this one. Because they did seem legit, but sent counterfeit product. Konstantin
Whoever worked on this new site layout and functionality should be fired, it's the worst retail website I've seen in decades. They won't accept credits, gift cards, no saving items for later, no quick looks / previews, no comparison shopping, the check out process info capture is incomplete and the notification of order receipt is delayed... the whole thing is a disaster, much worse than the old site (or any site for that matter).

If you go on their mobile app, a lot of the sales say "Additional 40% off". Unfortunately it is only true to a max $$ amount, usually $50 or $75. No where I can find is there fine print that states this... Used to be a great site to get great deals, now it is close to being a scam site with most items non-returnable for any reason. Designer sizes vary so much it is not worth the risk...

I have been a excellent customer and ordered many things from Gilt. I just received an email that charges me $1800. 00 for goods I had in my cart but did not order! I have waited 48 minutes so far for someone to answer with customer service! Never again will I buy from them. Something has happened to their business and is no longer reputable... Go to another site to send your money

Don't recommend buying from them. Recently purchased a Saint Laurent Baby Niki shoulder bag on Gilt.com. Logo, stitching and hardware didn't feel right so I had it authenticated by Authenticate First. Came out to be a counterfeit. Contacted customer service right away trying to get a refund. They wanted to charge me for returning the item at first. I asked them why? Is it my problem you sent me fake item? At the end, they decided to email me a complementary return label in 3-5 business days (again, why so long? But I will wait...)

I ordered 4 outdoor chaise lounges and was given a date range during which time they would be delivered. I called and requested delivery information towards the end of that period (over 2 weeks) and there were tracking numbers with no activity. I attempted to find out the reason for the delay and I was told that it would take 2-5 days to get an answer from the manufacturer. They sell products from companies they do not even have the ability to pick up the phone and call apparently. I requested a cancellation plus refund and I was told that also would take 3-5 days. There is a hold on my credit card even though they haven't shipped the items. Totally deceptive and pointless. I could have ordered the same chaise lounges or similar and they would have arrived by now but after dealing with the customer service realized it would be too much difficulty trying to get truthful, accurate answers in any reasonable amount of time.

This happened to me before since I order from them a lot. Last year they screw up, so this year I have placed the order in November, guess what, they screw up again, 1 out of 2 orders is still not shipped, another one was shipped too late and I haven't received it yet. It takes 25 minutes to get customer service representative who is doing nothing but apologizing. Don't buy from them if you can't wait 6 weeks for your order.

I have purchased amazing name brands at great prices. I have also had a few hiccup with some orders, but Gilt Customer Service either fixed or refunded me. I do understand every experience will not be be perfect, specifically with more people choosing online shopping (pandemic). 4 out of 5 for ME!

My purchased item was ordered on Dec 1 with delivery promised before Christmas. They changed the shipment date without informing me to well after Christmas. After numerous inquiries they lied and said the item had shipped and would arrive in a few days, but it had not. As it stands I still haven't received the order or the refund and its too late to order something from reliable sources like Amazon. Gilt has been exceptional in one thing... flooding my email with endless marketing solicitations.
Do yourself a favor... Whatever Gilt sells... Find it on Amazon and live happy.

Ordered an expensive belt on gilt.com First time to their site. What arrived was a piece of garbage that truly would be 5 dollars on the discount rack at any store. Hoop already broken. I would NEVER return to this site. They promote luxury, but deliver garbage.
Tip for consumers:
39 dollars for a belt buys you 5 dollars of garbage. Stick to Allen Edmunds or other top quality shops.

Awful customer service. A bunch of incompetent individuals! I have contacted this company and spoke with three different individuals on three separate occasions and each time it has taken them over 30 minutes to answer very simple questions. The return policy is also VERY awful. You will not be issued a refund for anything under $199. Just a store credit. In order to use your store credit you must place a credit card on file. Very stupid system. Not to mention a lot of their prices are much cheaper on other sites. Don't waste your time or money!

If I could give them zero stars I would. I ordered two pieces of expensive furniture from them and the pieces were MONTHS delayed, without even so much as a heads up. I called no less than 7 times trying to expedite or at least learn what the timing was, as I was incurring major construction delays because of this. They never did anything to help, didn't return calls, and did nothing to make up for my negative experience... or the fact that the promised dates on their website were never met. Total nightmare!

Please be aware before you purchase that high end bag from Gilt. I purchased a Chloe bag from Gilt and the corners started wearing within 2 months. Gilt would not do anything for me because they have a 30 return policy. The bag did not fall under Chloe's warranty because Gilt is NOT an authorized retailer for Chloe. I'm stuck with an expensive bag that did not last long. Lesson learned. Never purchasing anything high end from Gilt again.

You won't know what you're paying until after you checked out. Gilt even says "The sales tax quoted at checkout is an estimate." How difficult is it to show the exact amount at checkout? This place is run by incompetent people who can't even hire someone to properly code a site. Everything is an estimate, which shows how careless these people are about their business. They'll significantly over-estimate the weight of your package so you pay a huge amount for shipping. When you run into a problem, customer service is one of the worst out there. Completely unhelpful and you'll never get your problems solved. And that "return" policy is a joke; it's an exchange policy. Consider everything you buy here final sale. You get a site that looks modern, but is unreliable and when you run into a problem, CS won't be able to fix it. There are other places on the internet to buy from, avoid this place.

I haven't had huge problems with Gilt. Frankly, I don't go to it much because it LOOKS so expensive and whose paying for those graphics? I have found them terribly slow to mail out, but pleasant on the phone, and willing to put things to rights. And,. Oh yes, they once sent a pair of tights, that looked suspiciously like purple rather than grey. They had taken so long to arrive, I didn't bother sending them back. It was like... I am so over this! So, not making the big 4 stars yet, but keep on trying.

A return took so long to process, over a month, and no apology or empathy at all with customer service! Unacceptable! Great site; amazingly discounted prices on designer apparel, shoes, accessories, home goods and just about everything else. Always ships on time; easy returns. We would recommend Gilt to everyone.
I think many of the negative issues that shoppers might have with sites such as Gilt is that they do not read the website and terms before they make a purchase.
We have never had a problem with Gilt and we love shopping there!

Taking a nose dive. Shipped wrong item. Does not have what I ordered and paid for. Customer support email is worthless. Chat person tells me that customer support will reach out. No one called. Chat person has nerve to ask what he can do to make things right. Asked for some type of discount for the future only to come back with No. LOL why ask then.

Most often you do get what you order. If you have to resolve some issue with customer support I doubt you'll be happy. They just don't seem to care.

I was a Gilt Noir member and used to like this company and appreciate helpful service. Since the acquisition, however, they have become a customer service disaster. My furniture order got cancelled, for no good reason, and when I called to resolve it, the supervisor was both very unhelpful and astonishingly rude. This is not the way for any business to treat its customers. I would urge others away from this site, as there are so many others who do better by customers.

I ordered a couch from their website. Listed as grey and the pic clearly showed grey. What I received is a very bluish couch. Clearly, it does not match the photo or description as listed. They basically told me too bad, final sale.
When comparing the pic from the website and an unaltered/unadjusted pic of this ridiculous couch sitting in my living room, it's clear they have no clue. Safe to say that whomever I've chatted with from Gilt has never seen the physical couch, so how can they determine whether it's as described or not.

I purchased a shirt that was on sale for $100 that looked so cute in the picture but ended up being totally cheap quality thin jersey material with raw edges. I paid $9.95 for shipping and was supposed to get free shipping for 30 days (for the next 20 days?). I'm not sure who's making up these rules. Now they have the audacity to charge a restocking fee of $9.95 to return an item and had the nerve to tell me that I elected to receive free shipping for 30 days for the next 20 days?! I won't be shopping with Gilt again ever! I've gotten my last cheap, defective item from them! I'll stick with MyHabit!
Update: I did contact Michael via email and explained the situation, even providing the name of the customer service representative I spoke with. He never contacted me again. Nice try to make it appear like Gilt goes out of their way to do the right thing though Michael.

I visit Gilt frequently (daily ;) ) and order fairly often. I understand some items are returnable, and some final sale. My last purchase included items that were returnable but I did not read for "credit". Gilt was so kind to honor my wishes of having the items returned bad to my cc. I really appreciate the prompt response and kindness from the customer service. Definitely an encouraging factor to continue to shop on this site. I recently had a very different experience with another company and will remain loyal to Gilt for "accommodating" the customer. I can't thank you enough for your diligence and detection to your shoppers.

Gilt will not take back purchased products. It is as simple as that. I purchased a bathrobe and Jimmy Choo shoes. The packaging was so poor that the shoe box was destroyed by the time it reached me. They refused to take responsibility. "Sorry, but those items are final sale." Pathetic experience. Do not purchase anything from this site.

I purchased an expensive Kate Spade bag from Gilt, and fewer than 5 months later it is completely falling apart, one of the handles is almost completely detached. I have only used the bag 3 times! I called Gilt to report this, and the customer service representative was rude and unhelpful, and refused to make any exception based on a defective product. Also, I'm not even sure this is an authentic bag as it arrived without a dust bag, a tag detached, and is now falling apart. I would definitely not order any high-end merchandise from Gilt, because I don't think it's authentic, and if there is ever a problem you are out of luck!
