This is a fun site. It seems that there are great deals to be had. But I ordered an oriental style rug described as 100% wool. When it arrived it was almost threadbare, of poor quality and non-returnable. Won't do that again.

They advertised the red rouge bottle. I received some remake fake yellow stuff... And I paid $12 shipping. It is a scam... beware... see pics below... i am pretty good in detecting scams and did not detect this one. Because they did seem legit, but sent counterfeit product. Konstantin

So i've been a loyal Gilt customer until now. Ordered yohji yamamoto dress which had a retail value >$3,000 as per Gilt.com website. Once i received this item I noted the retail price tag of 50% less from what Gilt.com stated, so I could have gotten a MUCH better deal if I would have purchased this dress from the actual boutique during its sale. Now i am questioning almost each of my single purchase with Gilt. Do we really get a massive discount or it is all made up by the website?!... Now i will be very careful with buying anything on Gilt.com. In addition, I used once Gilt for Bon Jovi tix, AND ended up sitting next to a couple who bought their tix of the regular website for the price 40% less of what we paid for Gilt's "special offer" (so even with the discount, we really did not get a great deal as we realized)... So I am thinking if a buyer is comfortable with paying a certain amount of money while shopping on Gilt.com, that is a win win situation for all, unless a buyer is looking for a great deal, than I would never recommend using Gilt.com (especially after such a misleading information in regards to the real retail prices). Its been over three months since I purchased a pair of Versace shoes and returned them
Because they did not fit. I clearly indicated i want my full refund on my credit card. Ofcourse weeks later i got a store credit for that amount minus $9.99 return fee. I informed them that I had already made it clear i wanted a refund on my original form of payment which was my credit card. Today is exactly 3 ( three) months and I still have not seen a credit on my credit card for my refund. I just checked right now. This is ludicrous. I feel gilt wherever it ships merchandise from has no connection between the admin/ customer service and refunds department. Whenever i talk to someone in Customer Service which is difficult to get through to anyway) they must be somewhere far away outsourced and read from a script an apology but barely are ready to LISTEN to you. I mean nothing ever goes right. No refund for the merchandise i sent back after three months!?
Also I received 1.5 - 2 year OLD & expired expensive face creams that made my skin break out into a rash. I had to return these as well. Hopefully it gets thrown away and not resold. Just not organized and customer service is clueless to what is going on and how to input a return credit.
Guess i have to keep emailing or calling.
Who knows if they are just waiting for us to get tired so they can keep our money and mot refund it!?

This was a great concept and a great site I have never had an issue prior to 4/2018- spent thousands of dollars with gilt since 2009. Gilt was sold to Rue lala (2018) and now it has the same garbage return policy and will be as big a black hole just like rue lala. I will never order from Gilt again since they are no longer a part of Neiman Marcus. Older review 2016:" I hope to never have a customer service issue, but they answer the phones at gilt and try to answer all questions. Good prices, but very bad return policy so never order anything that you are not completely sure of... size, designer etc. This is a real site, not a scam (owned by neimans), but you must be sure of the sale price as they don't price match. I ordered McQueen faux fur for $300 (from $600)- Nordstrom marked it down to $99. Guilt would not match so I canceled. I have returned items I found for less, but gilt is making that harder to do. Do your homework before you buy from guilt.(2016)" NEW 2019: DO NOT SHOP HERE! Everything looks so good, but you might get stuck with the product (refund in 30 day minus $10) or have to take a credit. Rue lala is garbage and has destroyed gilt, but all the complaints have made gilt change some horrible rue lala adopted polices. I love 99% of what I see on gilt, but I have lost complete trust in the site. Rue ruin a great shopping location and I am upset!

I've been a gilt customer for 5+ years. Placed one order, it got cancelled after receiving an order placement confirmation, and I only found out after 10 days when I wrote to inquire about shipping notification. Received a "pre-made" email with apologies assuring me this was an exception, but zero explanation as to why it happened. Placed the same order again, losing out on the shipping promotion. A week after the order confirmation and no news of shipping, so I again wrote asking what is happening with the order since it was not showing up on my account. 3 days later received exactly the same response, word for word, assuring me that despite the fact the order was cancelled without an explanation (or notification for that matter) that this was absolutely an exception. No one is bothering to clarify why or even offer solutions.
They have lost me as a customer as this was just another proof of how their service has completely went down. Not to mention that their prices are simply not competetive.

Beware final sale items! I've gotten some items that hold up well, but others are a complete mess. One shirt that I bought ripped the first time I tried it on. Another dress also is ripping around the bust area (and I am not at all busty), that I periodically have to sew back together. Another time I bought an item that the website listed as made in France, but when I opened the package was actually made in Vietnam. Today I received a ring that looked nice on the website but when it arrived looked like a teenager's craft project and already dinged up. All items were either final sale or not worth incurring the cost of sending back.
They wheel you in with "points" that you can redeem but honestly, the quality of their items are such a gamble that I am going to cut my losses and stop purchasing items from Gilt.
Such a nice concept of an upscale discount retailer, but the execution leaves much to be desired. Vet the quality of your items or provide a better return policy and I might come back, but as it stands there are better on-line retailers.

I had a terrible experience with Gilt. First my order was delayed by a week. It was supposed top arrive on 12th Sept but I was notified that it will be delayed by 1 week that means on 19th. They gave me FedEx tracking info, which was incorrect. After I contacted them they said it will be delivered by EFW. I had to be at home to receive the order, so I took a day off as my order was supposed to receive on Sept 20th. No one came. Nor I received nay updates. I also signed up for Text updates. Today is 22nd Sept. I haven't received my order. Customer service says to contact EFW. EFW have been telling me from past 3 days that I will receive a call from EFW soon, which never happened. This site is extremely unprofessional.

Ok it used to be that Gilt had GREAT prices even for Designer brands... NOW not only is everything top dollar, lots of items cannot be returned! ( handbags for one)
AND NO more free shipping?!?! REALLY? Some of the worlds best stores offer free shipping BUT NOT Gilt! You ONLY get free shipppng as an offer AFTER you make the purchase, even if order is several hundred to thousands!
Over gilt-They just lost another customer!

Be sure to always google the item you are looking to purchase first. I would say at least 9 times out of 10 you will find the exact item somewhere else for less.

Worst Customer Service I have ever encountered. Ordered a pair of Jack Rogers Whirlaway rain boots, assuming they would be great quality as JR is a good brand. Within a few month and wearing them no more than 10 times, the lining wore completely down to rubber. I called customer service and was told it was a few days past the 90 day extended return policy and there was nothing they could do. Frustrated I hung up and began wearing double socks to try and avoid the blisters. A few weeks later, after ruining numerous pairs of socks, the rubber seam split up the back of both rain boots. So now they are not only unbearable to wear, but also no longer waterproof. Again I called customer service and after 30 minutes (20 of which they kept me on hold) I was once again told they would not refund the boots. I even stressed how this was not normal wear and tear and how the boots had not even lasted on season. Their only response it that it was past the return window. Needless to say, I'm deleting my gilt account.

Buyer Beware...
Gilt has repeatedly sent switched product styles (completely different designs) when I have ordered from them. They have sent the same product type (category) and designer, but a completely different item.
They do NOT consistently find it necessary to correct this type of error by replacing the incorrect item with what the consumer has actually ordered. They also have proven that they don't find it a necessity to refund the cost of an item that was never ordered by the purchaser (and that the purchaser was never legally responsible for). They also do not find it necessary to refund the shipping fees for the item that was never ordered by the consumer.

They do claim as an explanation that there have been warehouse errors, but do not consistently act with accountability to take possible corrective action.
Bottom line is that this seems to appear to be a corporate policy to change the items when there seems to be no more inventory for correct fulfillment. In the end, this action seems to appear to equate with a known intention to defraud consumers via illegal bait and switch tactics.
Numerous Gilt customers have complained across social media about aspects of this bait and switch problem, so the matter is very known to the company, yet the practice has continued for a great length of time.
While it is possible to make a warehouse error occasionally, to have it be more rampant without consistent corrective action, sends up serious red flags about the company's true intent.

I bought a $5K ring from here and after deciding it was not the right thing for me, I returned it as the site clearly states you can. After a month of not receiving a refund, GILT reached out saying I altered the ring and it could not be returned. THIS IS TOTAL BS. Its an infinity ladies and clearly even states on the sale that it cannot be resized. I'm sick to my stomach about this and will be getting an attorney to resolve this issue.

Shipment was sent to the wrong address. Called customer service twice, they said nothing can be done. And they emphasized that I should have noticed that on my order confirmation. Well, I did remember I corrected address when I placed order, but for some reason it was still the old address on the order. I had to call Fedex and Fedex said they haven't received the shipment yet, that I should called the sender. I called the customer service again, still said nothing can be done, I should wait until Fedex received the package and call USPS.

This is terrible! I had great experience with diapers.com. In my case, the shipment was sent to the wrong address. One shipment was already delivered. I didn't even call, thinking I will probably lose the money anyway. I just emailed them and didn't expect anything. They immediately put a stop shipment on the one that is in transit. For the one that was delivered, I called the doorman and they said they didn't see the package. And I don't know what happened later. But when I contacted diapers.com, they refunded me full amount right away, no questions asked.

I will never order from Gilt.com again.

I am in love with Gilt. I have never had a problem with a return, but then, I don't have a problem with receiving store credit from this site.

However, I have purchased a few non-refundable items and changed my mind... but that's my fault. As I always say about flash sale sites, think long and hard before you hit that purchase button. Also, if you only have a few weeks to return it, get on it. I missed a return period once, but ended up giving the item to my dad's neighbor's granddaughter, so it ended well.

I had one issue where I bought a Right Bank Babies (Left Bank Babies? I love both brands) reversible sundress that was listed as a 12. I bought it, thinking it would fit my five-year-old daughter in a few years. It ended up being a 12 MONTH dress.

It was a non-refundable item, but I contacted Gilt anyway. They were willing to accept it, but I decided to keep it as a gift for a girlfriend who had a baby girl several months later. But the fact that Gilt was going to take it back for me means a lot.

I've purchased many different items from Gilt, from purses, clothing, children's books, toys, jewelry... all of it has been top of the line, high quality items, even if they're a season behind or whatnot. I live in the DC area - nobody cares. Marco Bicego ring for $500? I'm there! Kate Spade bag for under $200? Score!

I bought a pair of Dior sunglasses on here that were highly discounted. When I received the item it was obviously fake. The box was very cheaply made and had glue coming out of the sides. I also noticed that the glasses were in a strange looking non-Dior plastic zippie bag and had a couple of staples in it. These glasses were obviously not real. I addressed the issue to customer service and they did admit that fake items occasionally do slip through the cracks and that this is not the first time that it's happened. They offered me a full refund if I return the item. I guess these knock off sun glasses are worth about $10 tops and they are selling them for around $100-$200, so with those profits, they can afford the occasional customer catching on to what they're doing so they'll refund shipping as well. This is very wrong and I would never trust this website People who bought from here are walking around thinking that they are wearing real designer sunglasses if they've never seen the read deal. So wrong!

They have a HORRENDOUS customer service dept... I have been dealing with trying to get a credit on a massage because the merchant did not honor the voucher even though it was submitted within the valid period... Gilt did not refund me!
Horrible... DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THISvWEBSITE! Buyer Beware!

I shop for EVERYTHING online from groceries to clothing to furnishings. This was my first order form the Gilt Group and it was a rather expensive dining room table. The first time it arrived, it was severely damaged and had to be returned (2 holes that actually went thru the table form a fork lift). The second time when it arrived, it was almost comical. It was SO FAR from the item pictured. I immediately contacted them with pictures snipped from their site and the actual photo of the table that arrived and they look nothing alike. Nothing. They will not take the table back. They will not issue a refund. They will not even acknowledge that its not even close to what they have advertised. I walked the photos around my office and got 12 separate opinions. Everyone said that it was not even the same table. I am not being dramatic, but this company is criminal. I should have never strayed from Wayfair or Amazon. Both have impeccable customer service when it comes to all aspects of purchases and returns.

I am an experienced online shopper, farfetch, luisaviaroma, antonioli, yoox... they all make me happy. But this Gilt is a nightmare. I had shopped there twice and I dun think I will ever, ever buy anything from Gilt again.
1) I bought a M by MJ watch from them. Took a while to reach me but I can bear with that. I opened it up and realised there is no warranty card in it. I got told by M by MJ staff that there should be a 2 year warranty. I sent an email to the Gilt staff -- no reply at all. What sort of customer service is this, may i ask?
2) Bought a pair of heels for my gf not long ago. I received a notification saying that it's been shipped at the beginning of the month. Now it's been 2 weeks, still nothing. Is it being delivered by some marathon guys or something? I tried to track the item through a link provided by Gilt but that link never worked. Have they done any testing on the link before?! I also sent an email to their support 2 days ago, no reply yet. Honestly, I dont have much hope to receive a reply from them.

STAY AWAY FROM GILT. I dont see they value us as customers at all.

I'll admit after I got an email notification about the amazing sale on kitchenaid stand mixers and had already purchased two of them (one for me and one for my mom for Christmas) I started researching gilt and their reviews and I got really nervous! I purchased both of them on a Saturday night after I had gotten off work late in the evening. One sale went through and the other didn't but I got an email Monday saying it was cause something was wrong with te card I'd used (sleepy me out in a wrong number, whoops!). So I corrected the mistake and it went through. By Tuesday the first one shipped by Wednesday the second one shipped, both were at my house by Friday in perfect condition and were exactly what I'd ordered. I was bracing myself all week to be the recipient of something totally different than what I'd ordered or to not receive anything at all based on previous reviews I'd read, I was really scared cause that was a lot of $ spent on two items. But I was pleasantly surprised and very relieved that I got exactly what I ordered in a very timely manner for a great price and no shipping fees! I would totally do that again!
