This is a fun site. It seems that there are great deals to be had. But I ordered an oriental style rug described as 100% wool. When it arrived it was almost threadbare, of poor quality and non-returnable. Won't do that again.
They advertised the red rouge bottle. I received some remake fake yellow stuff... And I paid $12 shipping. It is a scam... beware... see pics below... i am pretty good in detecting scams and did not detect this one. Because they did seem legit, but sent counterfeit product. Konstantin
The worst online shopping experience on earth. They did some kind of restaurant coupon that I bought. Not only was I not able to redeem it (the restaurant said Gilt had messed up their coupon codes; random ones were working and others weren't) but when I went back to Gilt they basically told me to go back to the restaurant and try it again! When I asked them what backup plan was there to prevent me from wasting a trip they basically said none; and then to make it even worse they said their records show that the coupon had been redeemed (I haven't been back!). Everyone makes mistakes but what is inexcusable is to not step up to the plate and make amends when you've ****ed up. Hate 'em!
The return process is too lengthy & you cannot get a refund just a credit. It takes almost a month to get your credit. Do not shop here. They used to be much easier to process a return. Not so anymore. Way to many sites out there that are much consumer friendly!
I had partial refund because a glass of wine is cracked that I purchased from Gilt.com.
I felt some nervous Item is damaged I purchased.

The clothing and items for babies is nothing special, even with the free intro shipping for 30 days. It's an outlet store where designers dump the ugly stuff no one wants to buy-so I'm not going to spend $56 on an infant dress that's designer (or no name brand) but unattractive, or even $36 on an outfit that's not cute at all or even good quality-I'll just go to Baby Gap, Tea Collection, or Boden and buy direct. As for baby items, there are no deals-the prices are exactly the same as you would get on Amazon-I know, I checked. Swaddle blankets, towels, bottles, etc. And why would you buy from Gilt when you can't return it, when you can buy the same thing from Amazon and return?
Even though things aren't exactly cheap, they are incredible deals. Just be sure to act fast or you'll be left with nothing but a 'Sold Out' sign. Check out their spin-off sites too, like JetSetter and GiltCity.
The clothes on Gilt are very good and have a good discount on them. But if you order the clothes from Europe the prices are basically changed from dollars to euros. For example if something is priced at 100 dollars on US website on European website the same clothes would cost 100 euros. So it can be rip off if you 're not buying it with a discount.
As a moderate-range shopper, I periodically find deals here (Riller and Fount, Ella Moss, Hunter boots). I'm deducting one star because you really need to know your stuff - prices aren't always the cheapest here. Shipping costs are not great, but it is what it is... (buy another item within the hour and there is no additional shipping - they also have offered free shipping on mobile devices) I recently received a glass item that was broken. I called customer service & they credited my Visa immediately.
We got a credit passed over from buy.com when they purchased the company. It was only $45, so basically we couldn't find anything for that price-in the beginning. Then they started having sales-the money had been in there for over 2 years. My husband broke down and bought a pair of sandals -on sale. The insoles separated the first time they were worn. I'm just so very pissed- the only thing they offered was ANOTHER credit. I wanted my original $45 back. You'd think they'd make an exception in unusual cases. But they have absolutely no room to give a customer what they really want.
Do not shop Gilt. I placed an order over $600, one piece arrived damaged beyond use and the other shipment (most of the order including my dream boots) was lost in shipment! After endless emails all theyve offered for my time wasted and disappointment is a refund. Never again!
UPDATE: After replying quickly to my review, Maureen was quick to resolve this matter in a satisfactory way, which I really appreciated. I do wish someone had stepped up from the outset (then I would have had zero need to review online), but am happy with the outcome nonetheless. Thanks Gilt: youve retained this customer!

I ordered a pair of shoes, (size 8.5 which has been naturally my shoe size for ever) which looked very nice in the picture. When I received the shoes, they were one size bigger and too wide and they didn't have the look I expected. Well, there was not a return label in the box so I had to call and asked for one! Then I realized that you are not even going to give my money back and keep it hostage so I shop again! This is not acceptable. How do you want me to have a positive experience with Gilt? Gilt has a smaller selection than that of other flash sale sites, but the sales are truly wonderful. Gilt city is a favorite, and the items are all great at amazing deals. They do not have a ton of items, because they select the best items only.
I used to get some great deals here, but recently they have changed their tactics. I bought a Diane Von Frustenberg clutch from their site and the very same clutch was cheaper on Lastcall neiman Marcus. So just compare shop before you buy anything from Gilt again. Customer service rep said they do not guarantee to be the cheaper website!
I love my new hangbag! The case is quite safe and has enough space for all of my essentials. Because each pocket is the ideal size for keeping items such as snacks and phones, transitioning from doing errands to attending a meeting does not present any difficulties.
Gilt do not vet their independent suppliers who sell theses watches. Bought a Versace watch V race Chrono for $700 initially priced $1,3000, what a steal I thought! Was shipped a defective watch with a glued CROWN. Just fell off trying to put it on. $700 gone... Gilt won't take it back. Actually have a watch repair professional looked at it and testify it was glued. I'm actually taking this up legally, just thought I should inform everyone about the scamming business Gilt is into. Too good to be true? Run!
Unfortunately, my first gilt order did not turn out as I had hoped. I was shipped an item that was similar to the item I purchased, but not the same. I received a mysterious phone call from GILT the day after I made the purchase. Only thing that I can figure is that they were calling to see if they could substitute the item. Anyway, they said that they would offer me a $30 gilt credit or facilitate a return, so at least they are trying to fix the issue. Plus, I do not believe that the item is a knock off.
I question gilts commitment to customer service given 30 day shipment fulfillment. I feel drop shipment sales with no return policy benefits only gilt. Heck of a business plan but I canceled my membership, I get better treatment from janky ole eBay.
Excellent service from Jessica today. This is the first time i've been invited to rate my experience, but i've interacted with other agents as well and all those experiences have been excellent as well. Gilt makes exchanges and returns easy as well.
Stay away from these liars. Amazing that they aren't stopped by authorities! Scamming people form the hard working money. They make their profits by selling 50%+ fakes and defective items. Just look at the reviews: of 50% bad. They were able to scare me over a fake Creed perfume I paid $360 and can't get my money back because of Final sale. They had the balls to tell me to file a claim with the credit card. Pieces of $#*!. Careful!

Purchased ans paid for a dress & they said they ran out and automaticallt shipped a totally different item. Meanwhile i had to wait 2 months to get my money back being forced to return the unsolicated item. The worst customer service ever & rudest reps.

I recently placed an order on gilt for some food items. When I went to place the order got a message that said it did not go through. I waited a bit and then tried again. I received an email confirmation for TWO orders and immediately emailed the company to cancel one order. Except they refused or were unable to cancel. So I got two orders and I barely even needed the first order. They continue to give me the runaround and are refusing to refund me and now I am stuck with more than I need.

If this is the standard business practice of Gilt, offering a very specific item and than once purchase is made changing the offer, not a company that I want to do business with.
