“Goldstar is a great resource for discounts to local...”

Goldstar is a great resource for discounts to local events, shows, tours, you name it. Tickets on Goldstar are usually much cheaper than normal prices. I also think the website itself is well done... it's easy to use, straightforward, and well-designed. Love it~

Purchased tickets for an event in Maryland. Received confirmation both for show and receipt of purchase at $60 discount off regular prices. Then, out of nowhere, received an email indicating that they received an email stating that the "cardholder" was concerned that the tickets purchased under "this account" was fraudulent and that they might have been subject to identity theft! Our purchase was cancelled and refunded, although we haven't seen it yet!

We are the cardholder and never sent any such email. They claim that they received the email from someone in West Texas. Won't give us the email address, won't provide any other information. Just keeps repeating that they take fraud "seriously" and act immediately when an "allegation" is made. But I never made such an allegation, never sent them an email AND my email account has NOT been compromised in any way!

They won't provide any information about how any suspicion was initiated, won't provide any information about the email address from which they were alerted and won't let us speak with a supervisor.

We suspect something going on with Goldstar themselves. They did something to screw it up and won't acknowledge that!

Looked online for tickets to a Circle Line Beast cruise; Goldstar popped up as a sponsored link and I clicked it. Called the Circle Line desk to ask if Goldstar's vouchers were legit; the agent said the vouchers were "exactly the same, except that the price may be different". The day of the cruise I called the Circle Line desk to make sure there were tickets, was told they were wide open all day, went directly there only to find out that somehow they were completely sold out for that day, which was the one day I could use the tickets. I asked for a refund and they said "sure!" However, when they saw that my vouchers were from Goldstar, they said "no, those are from an outside party so no refund". So much for being "exactly the same".

I contacted Goldstar, the outside party who had taken money, and they said they had to contact the box office. A few days later I got the "so sorry, no refund; you can gift them to somebody else."

I don't want to gift them; I want my $75 back. I was lied to. Make no mistake: tickets you buy through Goldstar are NOT the same. I should have known better... hopefully people reading this can learn from my stupid mistake in trusting this company.

This company is a scam. If you buy a voucher from them you won't be able to check on the availability of your dates until after your purchase. When your date is not available, they pocket your money. DO NOT BUY VOUCHERS FROM THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU ARE flexible with dates.
After many emails with customer service, they finally refunded the money.

Have you had to contact customer service for anything lately? You were probably met with hours on hold, a lot of "sorrys for the inconveniences" and ultimately little or no satisfaction. Not so with Goldstar! Simply put, these guys have THE BEST customer service and CSRs on the planet. Not only are there discounts great, on shows you really want to see, at top flight venues, but most times I purchase tickets they bend over backwards to contact the venues and accommodate my family members with special needs. Our aging parents are 84,93 and 99, and as you can imagine have great difficulties hearing and seeing, but they love theater and concerts. My wife and I try to get them out to shows at least once a week. Each and every time we purchase something from Goldstar their CSRs are nice, friendly, understanding, and are almost 100% successful in getting us seats where they can see and hear well. Also, because of their ages, many times we have bought tickets that we have had to cancel due to ill health, and again, with very few exceptions, Goldstar was able to credit us for the purchase, even when we had to cancel the same day. Every company should take a page from Goldstar's Customer Service Book!

Hi Steve! It's truly wonderful that your parents still enjoy going out so much and experiencing a variety of events; and it's satisfying for us to be able to play a small role in that. Please keep contacting us whenever we may be of assistance with seating, canceling an order or anything else. It really is our pleasure to help!

I love Goldstar. Honestly, I just love them. I've been a member for going on 10 years now, and I have always had incredible experiences with them. They have the most interesting, under-the-radar events as well as pricey, big-ticket items at reduced rates, and never, ever have I had a bad seat. The discounts are typically quite substantial, and as long as you don't have to sit right in the front row, Goldstar often offers terrific bargains.

More than just interesting events and good deals, however, I have been impressed with Goldstar's service. Recently I discovered that my Outlook calendars weren't syncing between my desktop and my mobile, and I double-booked myself. I emailed Goldstar with my dilemma, and they responded well within a day. I want to say it was a few hours.

No one likes service fees, so if Goldstar has a drawback, I'd say that was it. Even still, the service fees are usually reasonable and have never been so onerous to prevent me from buying tickets.

I don't know why more people don't know about and/or use Goldstar. It's a best-kept secret for people who like to attend cultural events, eat food, watch movies, take tours, etc, etc. etc. Goldstar is for people who like to "do stuff."

Tip for consumers:
Karma codes are a nice way to entice others to join you in any activity.

Hi Denise! We're thrilled each and every time we hear that we've helped members like you go out more. That is our mission and why work so hard to bring great events to our members and help with questions or concerns about listings or purchases. We do try to keep our service fees as low as possible. The service fee is the only money we make from each transaction. The rest of the ticket price goes to the ticket supplier. Please let us know the next time we may be of any assistance to you. I hope you continue to enjoy going out!

I purchased bar crawl tickets for my friend and I, who was visiting Boston for the first time on Halloween. When I attempted to use the tickets at one of the establishment (Hard Rock Cafe) the guy at the door told me he works for Goldstar and have never seen a ticket like the one I had (which was print out). So I had to pay to get it. So I decided I would just contact Goldstar to rectify the problem. When I did get in contact with Goldstar they told me the tickets had to use before 9pm, which was not stated anywhere on the website when I original the purchased the tickets or on the printed tickets. If you like throwing your money away go this is the place for it. I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THIS SITE.

I purchased two tickets through Goldstar for the 2020 St. Patty's Day Booze Cruise in Chicago for their annual dyeing the river green celebration. The MAYOR of Chicago cancels the event in lieu of the Coronovirus scare, the President declares a State of Emergency but when I send an email requesting a refund (after 4x) they finally answer me informing me the event isn't cancelled?!?!?! Are you kidding me? They are not dyeing the river which is the whole purpose of this event and the restrictions put in place for precautions but they won't officially cancel this event and refund my money. RIDICULOUS RIP OFF!

Goldstar posted the price of the tickets from the Cavalia show at $144.00 weekday. I went to their site and found that the price is $129.50 weekdays. When I contacted them about this, they tell me that they listed the price of the ticket WITH the fees from Cavalia. But when Goldstar posted their price they did not include their fees, so it made it look like a much better savings. I feel Goldstar misrepresented the price saving to their customers. The true savings was only two dollars, and I could have bought my tickets at a lower price from the vendor had I known at the time of Goldstars deception, but I trusted them. Goldstar should compare ticket price to ticket price with out the fees. Issue #2: I am a Red Velvet member and have been with you for a few years now. The Red Velvet service (that you have to pay extra for $49.95 per year) is supposed to allow you to cancel your ticket and use the money for a future purchase, but they do not tell you that it does not always work. Issue #3: Goldstar has Karma codes with a value of $10.00 to give to friends... but many times I have given them out only to find out that my friends did not get them. I have had to spend a lot of time contacting Goldstar about this and still it is a problem. In conclusion be aware of the exact price of the tickets you want to buy from the vendor do not believe what Goldstar tells you is the price. Find out all you can about other discounts that you can use before you buy with Goldstar you can save more money other ways at times... I thought I could trust Goldstar but now know better.

I rarely do reviews but my recent experience with purchasing concert tickets thru goldstar was horrinle. First off I purchased tickets in which I thought were located in the lower section of the concert arena and when I get to will call the seats were In the nose bleed section. I want to say beware of buying concert tickets thru goldstar because for the looks of it the are about making a sell and you want be refunded any money. I feel like i been scammed when a company use measures to make customers believe they are receiving or buying something when they you know you not is wrong and an unethical practice. I used goldstar many times but this situation I am disappointed and will not be recommending them to anyone else. I don't want to be the cause of someone else to be SCAMMED... BEWARE OF WHAT YOU ARE PURCHASING IF ITS NOT CLEAR WHAT THEY ARE ADVERTISING DONT BUY.

I booked these tickets over a month ago for a friend's Bday. The show time changed a month ago and they did not tell me. In return, they gave me a refund! Ruined plans and a special 50th BDay and NOTHING! WILL NEVER BUY. According to Geffin theater, GOLDSTAR does this all the time.

I recently received not one, but two, emails from Goldstar saying that I had a "gift" in the amount of $25 to use. I checked to find out why I had received this and rep Eryn told me that emails were sent out erroneously to people who didn't have any "credit" in their accounts and that I should check my account. I checked and it showed a "0" credit but then I thought about it and wrote back saying that we are talking about two different things: Eryn was talking about a credit or refund for money already spent with Goldstar, but I was talking about a gift. Eryn replied that she could see no mention of the word "gift" in the email (I hit reply to she could view the same email that I had received. So I cut and pasted and sent her the email again, directing her to look at the words "gift" and "gift certificate." Well, that was the last time I ever heard from Eryn. Instead, another rep started in with another ridiculous explanation. The situation got even more sublime with every "creative" word the second rep came up with: This was just a reminder that I had gift certificates to use (I did, and there are two, but they were only purchased a couple of weeks ago [I guess they think people have very short memories] and were for $100 worth of events, not $25.) I pointed that out and the response I got was that these supposedly "gifted" gift certificates were supposed to be an example only, to show me what a gift certificate looks like, in case I didn't know. It went on and on until I requested the contact information of the CEO. Radio silence. Absolutely nothing. I feel that the company and people who work for it are fundamentally dishonest and should not be allowed to send out such emails to its database. The excuses were beyond the pale, again, a reflection of the kind of company it is.

Some friends and I recently purchased tickets to Queen of The Ride, a drag queen bus ride event in NYC. When purchasing the tickets, you are given the option of purchasing 3 types of tickets, Front Row Ride for $49, Regular Ride for $35, and Special Regular Ride for $26.

I needed to purchase 5 tickets total. I went to purchase 5 Special Regular Rides and was told there were only 2 tickets left. So I bought the 2 tickets at the Special Price and 3 more at the Regular Price.

Turns out, that 2 tickets left thing is a lie. Other friends also bought 2 tickets at the Special Price. And when we got to the bus, no one checked anyone's tickets. We were allowed to sit anywhere. So if someone paid $49 for front row seating, there was no guarantee they would be sitting in the front.

When I asked Goldstar what the difference was in the tickets, they told me there was none. They said that consumers were limited to 2 Special Regular Rides because of the lower price. I pointed out that their site doesn't say that it. Instead it says in bold and red "We've only got 2 of these left!"

It is essentially a bait and switch.

I asked them if they would credit me the difference for 3 tickets and I was told they were sorry for the confusion but they were unable to refund me any money.

Should you find yourself in this situation, simply buy the two tickets, clear your cache and cookies, and go back and buy another 2 tickets at the lower price. Repeat if you need more. Do not buy the higher priced tickets under any circumstances. They will lead you to believe that tickets are going fast and if you don't make a purchase immediately with whatever tickets are left, the more expensive ones, you may not get a ticket at all.

We bought tickets to See Prodigy Briana Pinchuck, a violinist and singer. The tickets on GoldStar were 1/2 Price from $20.00 each to $10.00 Sounds Good? Well if you don't Click THE DECEPTIVE "READ MORE BUTTON" You don't see this:; "Additional fees apply. For events with a discounted price, no coupon or promo code is necessary."

STILL DOES NOT SOUND TOO BAD. When you buy tickets on the next click... way at the bottom (hard to see) it says "For each ticket purchased, the venue requires a $15 minimum purchase. The minimum purchase requirement may be applied to cocktails, snacks or merchandise. This only applies to customers age 18 or older."

SO NOW YOUR DISCOUNTED TICKETS COST MORE THAN BEFORE THE DISCOUNT... FOR TWO PEOPLE $30.00 MORE! Oh... pardon me, they will sell you cheap drinks at the bar for this great value!

BULL $#*! IS BULL $#*!! Either tell the people up front the real price and don't play games with hidden extras or go out of business quietly.

I WOULD NEVER USE GOLDSTAR OR RECOMMEND " BOCA BLACK BOX" the theater in Boca Raton, Florida.
