I bought a Voucher from Groupon, Had a horrible experience with the seller, who refused to honor the voucher. I was out the voucher money plus a deposit I had paid the seller for the service. I tried to leave a rating on the site and it was not possible as the seller hadn't redeemed my voucher.
Only when the Merchant themselves redeem the voucher can you leave a rating. Therefore only the customers that have received good service leave ratings. These ratings CAN'T be trusted.
P. S - Groupon replied to me completely ignoring their misleading rating system which is tricking customers by avoiding bad reviews and solely focusing on my bad experience with the merchant.
Don't sign up for any trials or whatever-they'll make it super hard to cancel and won't refund a dime. The whole thing is a scam and has ruined groupon for me period. Won't spend money with them ever again.
First and foremost, a purchase was made with my card on file that *I* DID NOT MAKE (for CBD oil... something that I never have/will never use). I only found out about it when I saw the charge on my credit card. Secondly, I bought a groupon for carpet cleaning and literally had to fight with the merchant to get him to honor the groupon. He said that groupon was supposed to put in the fine print that the voucher was not good for apartments. I had to threaten him with turning him over to the attorney general's office to get him to honor the groupon.
I have tried for 4 days to get ahold of groupons customer support and I cannot get anyone to respond. I have a voucher that cannot be accepted and I can't get help. This is not good business practice do they not care about there customers.
They are more concerned about me signing up for there select.
I wanted money and I will not be able to get my order in time for Christmas and I won't be able to get a refund.
This was my first and most likely last transaction with Groupon. Received an email for $10 off my next Groupon purchase. Tried to buy 2 movie tickets for $17 dollars. Checkout said the coupon code wasn't valid. Looked at terms and conditions to see if I was doing something wrong. After finding nothing, I attempted to locate customer support. WTF? There is no easy way to get to customer support. When I FINALLY located it and started a chat session, the site disconnected me. I opened another session and the person told me that for the promotion to work, I need to purchase one item that is above $10, not just the order. Nowhere did it say this and the rep couldn't tell me where to find it. The email didn't state it; the terms didn't state that; only the rep stated that! Thanks for wasting my time!
While the heading could apply to sooo many things, it applies to just one: the Ideeli withdrawal. Mr. Hurly has a good thing. How about trying again. NOTHING compares to Ideeli; gone but unable to forget it. So missed
In eventually spoke with a supervisor, who could only provide his word that I would receive the tickets when issued a few days later. He was convincing that he understood the issue and ensured that the email change has/would be made so I could receive my tickets.
Purchased concert tickets, email was off by one digit. Contacted them 4 times, each person was clueless and not helpful, just repeating contact the vendor to solve the issue. I ask who is that, they don't know. Finally they agreed to resend the Groupon email 3 different times (so I have some idea how to get into the concert), but never did. They won't refund or help, chat after chat. I honestly think they hire incompetent people, or give no training, probably both.
Tried to purchase an item and just got an error message. Tried in multiple browsers. Customer service is non existent. Just gave up. Will purchase through a reputable retailer.
The discounted price is not worth the amount of run-around when things go wrong. Just do yourself a favor and AVOID. Sometimes it's best to just pay a bit more for some peace of mind and this is one of those times.
My experience -- I only used this company because my credit card company offered an additional money back opportunity, so I was like, "why not?" I'm planning a trip to California in February 2020 (it's Nov. 2019 as of writing this) and booked a reservation. I have never dealt with Groupon before and didn't know all of the additional caveats, voucher, etc. I decide to put Groupon on my phone and that's where the issues came. It would no longer recognize my Facebook-login information and refused to log me in. I reach out to them in three separate ways (none of which by phone, because there is no phone number that reaches a human), and all were silent, of if they did respond it was to let me know that they would reach out to to proper team (the security team) and that I would hear something back from them within 24 HOURS. I will be trying to cancel my reservation ASAP.
What if I need to talk to someone now, right? I see others that have been stranded on the day-of their event... NO THANKS.
Swerve past this one, guys. Not worth the discount.
I booked a stay for the weekend for my family and three out of the five us came down with and upper resp. Infection. I contacted groupon and brought up the help concern in order to change my reservation and refused to help me. Why would i want to go to a resort with a contagious virus and spread it? For a company that issues all kinds of people focused messages, their NOT IN TUNED a bit. If I tell you that there is a health issue and i need to CHANGE not CANCEL a reservation try and be accomodating. They flat out refused and said to call the resort. The resort refused to help me as well. DONT USE GROUPON TO BOOK and kind of hotel stays.
Do not but the membership for groupon.! I am stuck for 5 months at 4.99 a month. Groupn states that you will get 20 % of this and 10% off this. NOT TRUE! I tried to order 4 things not one did I get 20% off! It is only off of certain things and they are things you probably dont need or want... so I am trying to help you from being stupid like me..
Don't buy from this company because they don't resolve your customer care issues. I purchased three Microsoft office programmes and had issues with two of the license keys. I contacted Microsoft and they informed me they were not legitimate keys. This is unresolved with groupon.
I've used Groupon dozens of times and some of the deals are fantastic, HOWEVER, if there's a problem (and there often is) they are nowhere to be found. The site is intentionally designed to have you go in circles and offers no assistance. There's no customer service at all. No number, no chat. If you look long enough you'll find the email, but they make you wait for days for an answer and 9 times out of 10 they just tell you to go back to the beginning. I wish there were another site that offered a similar service, but with people who are professional. DO not use them unless you want to chase them for days and weeks getting reimbursed for the money they took from you.
They take days to process some orders and it has caused me to miss out on MANY events. Customer service is also not nice and extremely unhelpful.
I received a gift card from Groupon for my birthday. The vendor isn't responding to schedule and Groupon isn't making it right. So frustrating!
Impossible for me to browse offers in my area because the website keeps insisting i'm in another place, even when i manually enter the location.
I bought a discount on a ghost tour. I realized last week that someone had hacked into my account to use my debit card to buy things. Then today when I went to use my ghost tour discount I discovered that the hacker already did. So bummed. I tried to use "live Chat" to discuss this with Groupon and they never got on the chat. I Have liked using them in the past but Am afraid to use them any more because if something goes wrong, there is no one to speak to.
I booked a reservation for 2 nights in ROW NY HOTEL. Advertisement said its only $75 a night. I end up paying $640. Yes $640! And groupon management said they have no responsibility if the merchant change their promotions. So when we are in the hotel we found out that the regular rate is less than the amount i paid using groupon. Dont use groupon please! Misleading advertisement! They said they'll give me $30 back! For what?
Do not do business through this website. I get that it tries to save you money but at the end of it all it's not worth it. You might as well save yourself the headache and just pay the full price. I bought a spa treatment for my friend for her as a birthday present. You need a voucher when you go to the place so they can have it for their records. Cannot access my voucher just keeps coming up unavailable (see picture below). I have been in constant contact with customer service and have spoken with at least 5 people, 2 of which said my voucher was available but when I got to print it off it still says unavailable. The other 3 just wanted me to either get off the phone or get off their live chat before they could help fix my problem. Or they would tell me that I need to wait a day or two before I'm able to see it due to "maintenance". So I gave them 3 days and still nothing. Their customer service is terrible and a joke and I would NOT recommend using them. If I could give this "service" a 0 star I would.
Purchased two POGO Passes for San Antonio on Groupon. Seemed like a great deal but was unable to redeem them. I contacted Groupon on a Thursday and was told that "there was nothing they could do" finally I was transferred to a manager and was promised I would receive an email within 24 hours. I received nothing. I have spoke to someone every day since then and received no help. On Monday I spoke to someone and asked for a refund and was told I could not get a refund, and that she would escalate my issue and I would hear from someone in less than 24 hours. I never heard from anyone. I spoke with someone today and was told that since my issue was escalated they cannot issue a refund. I was then told that I cannot get a refund because the fine print says I can't, even though the issue is obviously a technically issue with Groupon. I am only in San Antonio for another week and live 2000 miles away. So, if I would have waited for the escalation I wouldn't be able to use the product because of the two week wait for them to fix the issue. I voiced this to them and they did not seem to care. Finally after arguing my order was refunded. This is not the first time something like this has happened. I will never order from Groupon again. Also, anyone looking to purchase these passes can purchase directly from the POGO pass website for the same price by using a coupon code. Or it's $10 originally which is worth it to not have to deal with Groupon.
Answer: Yes, Groupon is legit. You need to read the fine print before ordering live event tickets- -they will not refund your money even if it's there fault. I only buy tickets for activities that don't expire or you can use the purchase price towards a non-Groupon service the vendor offers. Hope this helps.
Answer: Yes, report it but using social media is a very effective way to get a companies attention. Spread the word, Groupon does not honor returns!
Answer: I usually call the merchants I am interested in before buying the coupons, and ask them if the groupon coupons work, and how much more I have to pay. You could do the same, contact the merchants you are interested in and ask them how groupon works for them?
Answer: Groupon usually sends a tracking # via email If not do as the other people suggested, check My Groupons
Answer: I wish I could say why, but a solution might be to contact Call Curtis, or your local News station that helps with consumer issues. They always seem to get fast resolutions, because companies hate BAD TV PUBLICITY.
Answer: I personally do not trust groupon. The question previous to yours printed on this site should answer your question as to its reliaiblity
Answer: The one I took by Holly and Hugo at least were I would research the company before buying. Also about twice a year they put all their courses for $5! I got mine completed it and it helped boost my resume and I was able to get a vet assistant job pretty quickly compared to before where I only got a call back from about one place which didn't lead anywhere. :) hope I could help!
Answer: Well, it's not Ideeli anymore... it's been Ideel for about a year now I think. Yes, there is a customer support phone number. I've had nothing but good experiences from Ideel in all regards - product satisfaction, price, shipping, etc. - but I've never had to contact customer service so I don't know what you'll get, but they're phone number is (888) 835-1719.
Answer: They are the absolute worst about answering customer service complaints. They will lie, they literally told me customer service reps were out sick, thus no answer to my emails for about 2 weeks. But, don't loose hope, the DAY I posted a review on this site, they answered AND gave me a 25.00 credit for my trouble. So write a review on Site Jabber with all the details and a bet a manager will answer promptly. As this is their way, I NEVER ordered from the site again after at least 3 years of orders. Good Luck and don't leave a sordid detail out of your complaint.
