You should always check to see what the real price of the items are before buying a Groupon. Lot of their stuff is just regular price but with some gimmick added on. Other than that, usually they have good deals. I still buy from them often.
Theatre voucher failed to appear. After about two hours of online chat we were told the problem would be investigated which would likely take 48-72 hours. The show started in 2 hours. Attached picture shows order still processing an hour after the show began. Utterly incompetent and useless.
I have to say it helps me a lot and save a lot of money!

Groupon devalues good businesses. Plain and simple. It is an advertising ploy and thats it.

I have always loved Ideeli and never imagined that I would one day have to write a negative review on the site. I gave the site a '2' because i cannot deny that their product offerings are great, but their customer service is one of the worst i've ever experienced. Here is what happened:
My sister and i both shop at ideeli and since I am visiting her, I shopped at Ideeli with my credit card (CC), and used her address for shipping. After I had placed my order, I immediately got an email from ideeli saying the order had been cancelled due to fraudulent activity, but they wouldnt tell me anything else. And when I emailed the fraud prevention team as the email had recommended, no one got in touch with me for two days. So I went ahead and re-ordered the items, and again they canceled the order without explaining why.
When someone finally called me over the phone - 4 days after, they said that they could not ship to my sister's address anymore because the address had been associated with fraudulent activity <---What?! I buy 80% of my stuff online, and never have I heard anything this ridiculous. I tried to probe further, but the rep, Stacy, said she could not tell me 'why' they couldnt ship to the address anymore, but she welcomed me to continue shopping with ideeli. Well, how exactly was I supposed to shop, since the address I was staying at had been blacklisted? I even handed the phone to my sister, since it's her address, I thought they would give her more information. But again, they just said that they could not ship to the address anymore and that was that.
Here is what I think is going on: ideeli flagged the order because they noticed that a different CC had been used for a shipping address on a user account they had on file (my sister's). Kudos to them for catching that! That's what security systems are for. But then, instead of putting in some extra work to verify the order with my sister, or with me, they simply blacklisted the address because two different CCs had been used. That is just lazy, and extremely terrible customer service.
I am very disappointed with ideeli for this, and especially with the tone that Stacy used on the phone. She basically told my sister and I that we could no longer shop with ideeli. I'm sorry ideeli, but i find it extremely unfair that you would have your customers pay for system flaws on your part.
Disappointed!

Groupon is the largest "daily deal" site, selling vouchers for discounted local experiences and services such as restaurants and spas, as well as travel packages, shopping, and a number of other items. Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers. Groupon is a public company (NASDAQ: GRPN) and is based in Chicago, IL.
Hi Kali,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on SiteJabber. We apologize for the quality of your shopping experience. A supervisor has already reached out to you with a response to your query, but here is a quick recap of what was sent to you via email.
Last year, we closed out three different accounts that you had been using simultaneously, which is in violation of our Terms and Conditions (please note users can only have one account when making purchases on our site: http://www.ideeli.com/pages/terms_and_conditions). At the time the accounts were closed, the shipping addresses associated with the accounts were automatically added to a database of addresses that our system checks against each order placed on our site. Said list is checked by the site and any matching addresses listed as the shipping destination are cancelled immediately. Currently, your sister's address is among the addresses in our database. Due to that inclusion, the two orders placed on her new account were cancelled. I noted that as of 5/21 you were able to process orders to your sister's address without issue, but the formatting lead to processing complications as noted in the email mentioned earlier. If you checkout with the revised format going forward, you should not have any further difficulties purchasing from our site.
I truly apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. Going forward, we will be reviewing your previous conversations with our fraud management team to confirm that they understand the difference between addresses that are blacklisted for having multiple accounts, and those blacklisted for fraudulent activities. We are also looking into removing the blacklisted addresses from the list so you will not have trouble making purchases on our site going forward. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Best,
Jason Faria
