You should always check to see what the real price of the items are before buying a Groupon. Lot of their stuff is just regular price but with some gimmick added on. Other than that, usually they have good deals. I still buy from them often.
Theatre voucher failed to appear. After about two hours of online chat we were told the problem would be investigated which would likely take 48-72 hours. The show started in 2 hours. Attached picture shows order still processing an hour after the show began. Utterly incompetent and useless.
Paid for a oil change 60 bucks or so, Groupon instantly charged my credit card, but did not furnish me any kind of code to use. Contacted customer support, and the route Idiot said it would be about four hours before someone would get back to me. Whatever business you're dealing with, just go directly to them and ask for a discount, they'll be more than happy to give you one. Now, I'm having to dispute the charges on my credit card, because Groupon never gave me the coupon that I paid for.

I contacted customer support to get a refund for an unused Groupon that I purchased and was unable to use due to the fact that the merchant went out of business before I was able to claim the service. First of all, you cannot contact anyone via phone, so you're left with an online chat center located who knows where. After explaining the situation multiple times, they flat out refused to offer me a credit or a refund. In light of what happened, I basically feel that Groupon stole the money from me and kept it all for themselves without the defunct merchant or I reaping any benefit whatsoever. Terrible policy, poor customer service, and dishonest business practices all the way around.

I think it is terrible how these companies have gone 100% online. You cannot email, call, get a phone number or person on the phone. If you need a refund or any kind of assistance after your purchase you are screwed. I had purchased Catalina Flyer tickets to Catalina Island and after groupon purchase you are prompted to then go to that Catalina Flyer site and they were fully booked for over a week out?! So we obviously needed a refund. When people spend money on your company, they should be able to call and speak to an actual agent regarding their purchase. What a scam. Unfortunate. No more purchasing from Groupon, you have lost my service. What a nightmare!

Please do not buy the Microsoft Office being sold by Groupon! It's not a true software. When I contacted Microsoft, I was told the code that is given is for retail usage only. I tried to contact Groupon for a refund and told me it was a final purchase sale and that I need to see the fine print before purchasing. Why would you let this be sold on your website? Please those positive reviews on people that have purchased this are lies. You can't use this software. I will not do business with Groupon again. They should not allow bogus people on their website to sell things without confirming what their selling.

Groupon has presented me with some great deals over the years. Some of these deals have been wasted money (due to the fine print, not being able to schedule a good time with the vendor), while others have been very worthwhile.
I would caution anyone from adding their credit card to Groupon. There isn't a checkout page so as soon as you click the 'Buy" tickets/Groupon it'll charge your credit card. Groupon will then refuse to refund your order, even if you didn't intend to purchase the item or ticket. Be aware of this.

I paid for a water park tickets on groupon, planned my entire birthday trip around it.
When we arrived we realized about million other people bought their tickets on groupon - which meant hours of lines just to get in, not to talk about lines inside the park!
This made no sense- we decided not to spend our day waiting in line - but guess what? Group on have NO costumer support to call - you can only email them. Every 3-4 days some idiot writes back with a line that is not related to your issue - and you have to re explain your issue! At some point they even deactivated my account - by accident! Now they refuse to refund me - so that's $200 down the crapper! I can't believe they haven't been sued yet!

They will say you used vouchers you didn't. They also do have a real customer support so no refunds!

Purchased four Groupons for canvas prints for $75.00. The Groupons said when you click on the redemption codes you will be taken to the vendor's website. Not a chance! I spent a half hour on Google to find the website and it has a completely different name than shown on Groupon. None of the redemption codes worked after uploading the pictures. Emailed Groupon, they refused a refund stating the purchase was non refundable. Didn't say that before the purchase only in the fine print after the purchase. I have called and emailed the vendor no less than four times and each time have been told to email them a screenshot showing the redemption codes being rejected, which I have done. Vendor has quit responding. Complete rip-off! NEVER EVER AGAIN!

Ordered tickets on Groupon for bike & kayak. I followed the instructions, and made a reservation for 3:30. Showed up at 3, like they said, and the doors are locked. Called, and no answer. Asked the surrounding shops but they said that's weird, because they don't close until 5. Paid for it and everything, don't know how to get a refund. This was for my husbands birthday surprise, and it turned out like this. He's always wanted to go kayaking, and especially on his birthday. So disappointed and would not recommend to anyone. Horrible. This is beyond ridiculous. This is our first birthday together and it's like this? Can't even get an answer.

Hello all: I have noticed a weird pattern over the past month concerning the multiple daily emails that Groupon has been sending me. The emails will contain products at an unbelievably awesome low price with a discount of up to 60%, however, when I click on the link the price is barely discounted enough to cover the shipping cost. I'm really disappointed in Groupon and I think I'm going to send them to spam from now on.

I purchased vouchers for airline lounge passes. The offer was phrased in a way that suggested there would be no more fees involved. When I went to redeem the vouchers I was presented with a bill for $233/per pass. They refused to issue a refund. Groupon is clearly now a scam site.

Groupon has become a complete scam

Do not do business with these clowns. They refunded an active Groupon for airport parking that I did not request. Now the "deal" is not valid and now that I am out of town returning in two days, I will have to pay the full rate to the merchant for all 7 days. Of course, their customer service is apparently in another country and those people cannot speak English or understand electronic correspondence in the English language. What a mess. Thanks Groupon for being amazingly crappy at your business!
Tip for consumers:
Do not use Groupon. They are very dishonest in honoring their coupons as well as it is very difficult to work with customer service.

This company will sell you coupons that don't work and then give you the option of getting another coupon or what they're calling Groupon bucks. It happened to me and there's no way of calling these people. If you like throwing money away. You're better of gambling that spending a dime with Groupon

I have used Groupon in the past, however, at this time they have shut down their offices for customer support due to the pandemic. I called the merchant line and selected an option for customer purchase support and got a recording that states this. I purchased a groupon for Qualtry. Long story short, the voucher code did not work. I have spent countless hours on the phone/computer talking and emailing and chatting trying to get someone at Groupon to respond. We are going on two weeks, no response. Qualtry can only say it is not their issue... Groupon will not respond to any of my requests to speak to someone... I guess they are just ok with taking your money and not making sure that you get your purchase... BE AWARE...

This is a scam. I purchased 4 coupons for Museum of Illusion in Toronto, $20 each. Coupons cannot be redeemed. No refund, no response from customer service. Lost my $80. Please don't buy anything from these guys. There is no option to give zero rating, else i would have given them a ZERO

Extremely slimy business practices and nonexistent customer service. Lots of hidden fees in the fine print. You'll usually end up paying less buying directly from the merchant. Items are shipped from abroad and take an unreasonable amount of time to ship. Need a refund? Not gonna happen. Need to talk to someone In customer service? Good luck.
I'm currently in the process of trying to get back money that I paid for a hotel. I paid through Groupon but the hotel claims that they never received payment so I ended up paying twice. So either Groupon or the hotel has my money. I have no way of knowing. And because Groupon doesn't even have a customer service number there's simply no telling when or if they'll ever get around to answering my email.
Do yourself a favor and just buy directly from the merchant. Whatever minuscule discount you may or may not get is simply not worth it.

Purchased the Big Bus day tickets in NYC on Groupon. The transaction didn't appear to go through. Got the ended spinning circle when trying to complete the purchase---waited at least 5 minutes. Finally closed the page. I went to my email to see if I had a confirmation of the purchase. Nothing. Gave up and went to the vendor in person and purchased tickets. An hour later I get an email from Groupon with a purchase confirmation. We've already been on the bus for awhile with the tickets we purchased directly. I've written numerous to Groupon. They don't care. All I get from them is "the purchase is final". So we decide the next day to do the bus tour again since we have these extra tickets. Guess what? The Groupon voucher is expired. Worthless. Don't use Groupon. They suck. You can get just as good of discounts on other sites from the guys selling tickets on street---and they actually work unlike Groupon site and total lack of customer service.

I purchased a Groupon for concert in Chicago on 11/24 & after purchasing I downloaded app & created account. All I received was voucher & I did online chat on 3 different occasions since voucher did not have a barcode, it was basically just proof of purchase. Not one of the agents were helpful or knowledgeable as to my dilemma. I emailed Ticketmaster & called box office who informed me that I would be able to show voucher & ticket would be issued then. Groupon issued the voucher and should have been able to tell me that instead of acting like I was doing something wrong. The price may be lower but I won't use again

I bought a deal on Groupon and have been expressing my concern on the experience I had with them, so that it does not occur to other who buy the deal. NO one from customer support bothers reaching out to me despite my repeated messages. I later tried calling them and explaining all the hassles that I went through. The representative said that the matter will be escalated and I will hear back. Its been 4 days and no one has bothered getting back on the issue. I have emails, screenshots as PROOF.
Tip for consumers:
IF you buy VOUCHERS and have a bad experience GROUPON DOES NOT CARE A DAMN AND WILL NOT help you. I did not want to use the voucher but had no choice as GROUPON NEVER GOT BACK

I ordered a cordless shark vacuum cleaner for $197.98 + tax. What I got was a 4 x 6 envelop that had a piece of packing bubble and a blue note saying thanks. There is no phone number, address, email address for the vendor. I called Groupon and they basically said "contact the vendor, there is nothing we can do", yet the charges on my credit card came from Groupon. Beware, Groupon is a scam!

Groupon does not refund back to your original form of payment. I had trouble purchasing the Groupon for my location and kept getting the Groupon at another city instead. When I requested a refund due to this issue I received Groupon "bucks" instead of credit to my bank card. Spent a day trying to get $120 back to my bank account and still dealing with customer service. Don't waste your time…you'll lose a day by trying to save money.

I have used Groupon before without a problem. I booked a hotel and Groupon charged me 125$ in occupancy tax. When I received my receipt I immediately contacted Groupon to cancel and they said the window for cancellation has closed. Unbelievable. Ty He total was 392$. See image below for invoice

I recently bought several Groupons for meal delivery subscription services. They've each been impossible to use, and I've followed the instructions to the letter. In every instance, something has gone wrong and I haven't been able to use the voucher.
So far, I've eventually able to get it resolved but it's taken a lot of time and I'm
Not done sorting it out. At first I was able to communicate with a Groupon representative via e-mail, but they got rid of it. Now you have to communicate via a form which is virtually impossible.
Not worth it and there are better ways of getting discounts. I won't buy Groupons again.
Tip for consumers:
The refund policy depends on several factors. I bought a Groupon for a friend that was meant only for new customers of this particular service. I didn’t realize he was already a customer: I’m also already a customer. So I wasn’t able to use the Groupon. I haven’t gotten a clear answer from them about if or how I can use the credit and it’s too late to get a refund. Confusing and all but impossible to use, extremely difficult to get a seers or resolution.

Purchased a HP Laptop, despite the reviews, which were poor. Item was defective, I contacted them to ask how to return for a refund. This was a very difficult process, had to argue to receive a return label. Once they received the return, they stated that refunds can only go to "Groupon Bucks", I repeatedly asked for a refund back to my credit card, to no avail. When spending this kind of money, it should be expected to receive a refund if the item was defective and returned.

I purchased 4 tickets to a show. The show got canceled and I didn't received any notice. Other than that, they don't want to refund me and they have really bad customer service! I have tried several times to talk to them ( chat only) and they told me I can't get a refund because of the terms. THEY BASICALLY TAKE PEOPLE'S MONEY WITHOUT GIVING THEM ANYTHING.
