For exactly 120 for a couples massage was not reflected on my account. I contacted groupon and gave them the order number in question as well as screenshots of my confirmation email. Instead of inquiring on the issue they refunded a second groupon voucher I bought for a movie ticket in the amount of 26.45 when I paid 29.45 and skipped out on paying my 3 additional dollars. When I contacted them a third time, my email was blocked. I would have been fine calling and explain this issue but there is no customer service number. Beware of the bs. Groupon is sketchy.

We were so excited my husband was given this as a birthday gift…. The extra expenses have been ridiculous… extra $100 each to fly out from Brisbane… extra costs to sit together on flight… car hire for 3 days cause a very basic motel is not near city, beach, etc…. We were not honoured any of our three Friday and Saturday night options… had to fly out on a Thursday… taking away our income (haven't even gone and down $1060)… gosh I hope our bottom of the peeking order destination is worth it!

In reply to the concerns that it would take so long to administer all of the deals bought - one poster gave the example of 41.5 days to give all of the massages - but I'm not sure if you've ever read the fine print.

The expiration date is usually FAR in the future. These businesses are acknowledging that they're going to have a huge influx of business. For example, today's deal expires April 27. Six months in the future. Six months is actually pretty standard. Assuming that there are, say, four massage matrons on duty. Oh, let's say three, actually. To be on the save side. That's 24 one hour massages that can be administered per day. Assuming they work eight hours a day, they are capable of administering 4320 one-hour massages in six months. Even if we assume that they are taking days off, there's only two massage matrons, they're taking hour loing breaks every day... pretty much any variable, they can still do the one thousand and some odd massages plus any usual customers they have. And they're probably not usually swamped if they're using Groupon. AND this is assuming everyone decides to use their groupon. I'd say at least 100 never get around to it.

I think Groupon has thought this through. Customers do get an excellent deal. I use the site a lot for travel. I'm currently collecting groupons to help us eat cheap on our trip to las vegas. The deals are usually set up where they don't quite cover EVERYTHING for restaurants or store where you'll probably end up spending a little extra which benefits the business. Also, businesses stand the chance of getting regular customers/word of mouth from satisfied customers. It's notoriously expensive to get new customers anyway. I think people's problem with groupon is simply that it's a way of marketing they've never seen before.

All-in-all, I've never had a problem with the site. It's done what the owner says he set out to do which is introduce me to new stuff. I've purchased fitness classes on the site that I'd always wanted to take anyway. I've used it to plan big days out. I've rewarded myself with massages and new hair styles for my weight loss without breaking the bank.

It's unfortunate some people have had difficulties with the site, but overall the system works.

I was so excited to use ideeli because I have had such great experiences with Rue La La and ideeli seemed to have more options and more daily "boutiques". So when I ordered my first purchase, I didn't expect to have a negative experience.

I ordered this transformer dress and I was so excited for it, until it came. The material of the dress is horrid (which I can't really blame ideeli for since they didn't make it, but they are selling it), but more frustrating is that they didn't include instructions on how to tie the dress to make the abundant styles that were shown on the website. Without instructions, I have absolutely no idea how to make any styles with this dress. I looked on the website and saw that previous buyers had also requested instructions months ago, and yet there are still no instructions. Further, the dress is just kind of crappy. Not only the material, but since I got a patterned version of the dress, many of the styles I've attempted to make mean that the panels look awful since the pattern is only one-sided. And, the dress is see-through.

I've decided to return the dress, which means I'll get store credit and which means that ideeli gets a $10 donation of my money (used for shipping), that I don't get back. Now, I know that shipping a dress does not cost $10. I have paid that much for shipping on Rue La La but was never bothered because I've never returned anything because everything I have ordered was WELL MADE (because, if this transformer dress were made really well - I would probably keep it, even without the instructions). I've never been dissatisfied with Rue.

Add to that, the friend that recommended ideeli to me recently bought a watch on the site. Within 2 weeks, that watch had fallen apart. So now I'm extremely hesitant to order anything from the site except that they will only give me store credit for the return. Ugh. Well, I've learned my lesson. I get to spend $50 credit on something I don't really want (because, if I wait, I'll forget about the site and the credit) and ideeli gets a $10 donation of my money because they sell a crappy product. Awesome. Definitely would not recommend ideeli.

I have been purchasing hotel stays, massages, facials, restaurant vouchers and a few other categories for a little over a year now so I thought I could submit a fair review. I would say I've used about 40 groupons over the year (I think I'm addicted).

Every groupon has worked perfectly and with the hotel stays they usually throw in some perks (a food voucher, late check out or a small gift). All places honored everything that was promised.

The vouchers are available seconds after purchase and have all the details you need. Before ANY purchase ALWAYS read the fine print because expiration dates can sneak up on you. If there's a slight question whether you will make it by the dead line, don't do it no matter how good the deal is. However, if time slipped away, don't hesitate to call the business to ask if they will still honor it even tho it's expired.

I too am a business and have used groupon to get more visitors and I ALWAYS honor groupons... even if expired. Doesn't hurt to ask!

Lastly, I highly suggest that you take a look at the companies own website BEFORE purchasing a groupon. Lets face it, some businesses are struggling & this is a last ditch effort to get the word out & win some new customers. With that said, some of these places might be in a bad section of town, a little run down or might not be your type of place. For instance, I purchased a facial at a salon and when I got there it was a place that specialized in ethnic services. Not only that but they had never offered facials before so they were "winging" it. Not a good experience at all. Another lesson learned that I'm passing on to my fellow bargain hunters. If I had only looked at their website I could have saved myself some money & a not so good experience.

So give Groupon a try!

I would not recommend groupon to anyone. I have consistently heard nothing but bad reviews from friends and family about their groupon experience and now i can lend to the multitude out there that already exist. I received a groupon gift from a friend and had a question about the product before I could use it. Good luck trying to talk to an actual person. I was stuck to email as they only communicate through that so they can send you automated responses and never answer your questions. I even followed up after their indicated two day response rate turned into two weeks, asking if a person could get back to me as I only received some automated response. My reply? Another late response that was so devoid of customer service I don't know why any self-respecting company would hire such incompetence. The response did not acknowledge my question, only throwing back how a "real" person would eventually get back and they signed it a robot. Some pathetic customer service person decides to take out their frustration at how their life is reduced to nothing but answering customer inquiries?

You go to groupon for ease of service: quick access to supposed good deals. But believe me, it's not worth it. They cheat both the businesses they "market" and the consumer. My friend ordered a service for a massage. Have fun trying to redeem those as businesses. Most of those services blow you off the moment you mention Groupon. My friends scheduled massage was cancelled four times over a seven month period. They consistently told her that they were "booked" full the whole time and would schedule her 2-3 months later only to call and cancel a week after and say they again wouldn't have any available appointments for another few months. Shes still trying to get groupon to acknowledge her question to their so-called support team. Our stories are one of many. No company should consistently treat those they provide services for as second rate citizens. It's no wonder they no longer possess the sales of a successful company. Keep a look-out, as I'm sure we'll all be put out of misery soon as this company continues further in its decline down the toilet.

While it's oh so easy to buy from Groupon, it's FAR MORE DIFFICULT TO REDEEM. The companies they select often can't deal with the high response or are desperate for a reason - ie. They don't attract custom because they offer a poor service. And Groupon's customer service is TRULY ATROCIOUS - the last guy I spoke to actually told me that while they get THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS A DAY, they think it DOESN'T MATTER and they're doing great.

My experiences have been - one beauty treatment for a facial and body massage turned out to be only body massage, one salon was disgustingly dirty, one company went bust (I'd bought 4 vouchers for salon treatments for me and some friends) and Groupon avoided telling customers for weeks. After many emails and calls to complain they offered a refund or replacement deal with another company. I took the replacement, received 4 new vouchers, organised my friends but when I tried to book I found Groupon had cancelled my vouchers anyway and refused to reinstate them. I booked an alternative deal for my friends last week with the £10 appology Groupon gave me but when I tried to book it just now, only 2 days after receiving the voucher, the salon is completey booked every day until the deal runs out in 3 months. As always neither the salon nor Groupon answers the phone and if you email they take weeks to respond or don't reply at all.

DO NOT USE GROUPON, YOU WILL ONLY BE DISAPPOINTED. ALSO REVIEW THE COMPANIES THAT OFFER THE DEALS AS I'VE FOUND THEY OFTEN HAVE VERY NEGATIVE REVIEWS.

I purchased a trip on Groupon but when I went to book with thetravel company the travel options were ridiculous so I decided to cancel the trip. To begin with it was difficult for me to figure out how to cancel as I was looking for about 1/2 hr for a contact number (my preference) and never saw one. I was able to send an email to customer service who said they would check that I had not used to coupon and get back to me. One week later my money has nto been refunded nor have I heard a peep from customer servicee.
I dug around some more and found a way to request for customer service to call me, which they did within a matter of minutes. However, the assistance was abismal so I asked for a supervisor. Amanda, the supervisor came on the line and informed me that Groupon's policy is to reapond within 72 business hours (which had never been stated to me before). She was able to see that, regardless, they exceed their time limit given that I sent the email on 3/14 and it was now 3/21. Amanda, however, said that there was nothing that she could do to speed up this process, which was beyond their acceptable limits, and that I would just have to wait for that team to get back to me. She then informed me that IF the decision is made to refund me it would take 7-10 business days. She insisted that she had no supervisor that I could talk to nor any way of excalating any of this. Amanda's suggestion was that I simply wait for then to return my $700. Absolutely unacceptable. Groupon has lost a customer.

I bought a Starbucks Groupon and my husband wanted to buy the same one (diff account). It kept saying error. I called Groupon and they gave no help and blamed it all on Starbucks. Then the guy said he would give it to me anyways then hung up on me. I called back and spoke with a girl. I told her the same thing and she couldn't help me, blamed it on Starbucks and told me they couldn't give me the Groupon. She said the man lied to me about giving me the Groupon. So I got lied to, no help, disrespected and hung up on. I then called Starbucks to let them know what Groupon was doing and how they blamed it on them. They told me it's all Groupon (which I believed) and how sorry they were they did that. I told them they need to take note with how Groupon is teating people and makes Starbucks look bad. He then told his team about what was going on since I called the feedback line. I have never been treated so badly by a company and they have THE WORST costumer service. They could care less about helping you. They lost a lot of costumers in my family.

So i have used groupon for a few months and i have recieved three deals.
The first one was for yoga which was fine being as it wasn't a good so i recieved the groupon and was able to use it.

But for my other two purchases it was a hassle. First i purchased a set of earbuds. I was told the shipping would be 10-14 days with a $3 shipping fee which wasn't bad in my opinion. Except i did not receive the earbuds until a full 30 days later. Not to mention there was no tracking on them so i had no idea if i was going to even get them. I was glad i got them. But i went out and bought another pair. I sent an email regarding this and received no reply.
I figured this was just a simple mistake and gave them the benefit of the doubt and made another purchase. I bought an NFL ipod dock. It gave me a choice of teams and i picked the Buffalo Bills. Well i had to wait a month yet again and they sent me the wrong nfl team. I called to see if i could ship it back and get the team i ordered and they said they didnt have it. So what they did do is tell me to ship it back and within 30 days of them receiving it i would get my refund.
This has been the worst buying experience i have had with any online company. I have to wait thirty days to get my money which i spent one month ago because of a problem they made. So thats sixty days and im sure they aren't going to give me interest for having my money that long. I will never use groupon again. All the could do was say sorry for wasting my time and money. Thank you groupon for your terrible business.

I have purchased 4 chrome tablets on Groupon. Two were delivered on-time and the other two were never mailed out. I have to call few times to Groupon Customer support team and explain my situation. The support team is from a different country and never truly understood the issue. Few days later, I was so fed-up and reached-out via email and the customer care person said, the product was shipped but they will issue a credit since it was so delayed etc and it was a gift from Groupon and keep the tablets.

The story never ends, I got the package and never opened it. And I was looking for my money and it was never credited to my account. After several follow-up with team, they came back and said they messed up in their response and I need to return the product. So I have mailed the product back to them. On their website it shows they only credited me for a single chrome tablet and not the second one. When I reached out to them via call center it was a disaster again. Standard response that they are still processing the package. Indeed, it is all in one packet.

Surprise, I got an email from Groupon while I am debating with call center rep that they never shipped the second item ( my bad, I never opened the package) and they will try to process another credit. I informed the rep the same but she still thinks that there is another package to be received from no-where. Gosh, it is such a mess and still I did not receive the credit for both items approximately, $89.

Groupon service used to be very good few years ago and very responsive and not anymore. I will never ever shop on with them. No matter how good the deal is. I have no faith that I will receive my credit.

Do you like speaking to pre-programmed robots, and being frustrated with the fact that you can't ever reach a human being? If you said yes, Ideeli.com is for you! I am a super loyal customer - pay extra for first row, buy tons and tons of merchandise. But be warned the moment you have an issue with their merch. Right now it's been nearly a month that I'm trying to get my $230 back from an item that was the wrong color -- it was THEIR mistake, but of course it's been a total hassle. Their customer service reps feed you complete misinformation and downright lies. They have no info about anything and all you can do is hope that they will pass the information along so you can get your money back. I was told just this past Sunday by "Jose" that a) my $230 would be refunded by Monday, the "5th business day" since it was initiated and b) a manager would CALL ME on the phone (again, it is nearly impossible to speak to a human being from this co! -- horrible). Guess what - Monday arrived, and lo and behold, I'm sent a form email (nothing boils my blood more!) showing that the refund was *just* begun yesterday and of course, no call from a human being, let alone a manager was made to me! So now I'm going to have to wait another 5 business days for my refund. When I spoke with "Esmerelda" today she told me the best she could do was to have a manager call me by 8pm TOMORROW (Wednsday). So again, that means 4 days that I have to wait to speak with someone other than a computer. I have had it with this site. I'm thinking of filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, as well as any other consumer affairs site. It's not a surprise they are owned by Groupon now. That company is low budget too.

Hi Bklynbridge,

Thanks for providing your feedback here on SiteJabber. I'm sorry to hear that you've been having issues with items you ordered from us and problems with our customer service team. When you do speak to any of our agents via live chat, they are real people. If the agent you are working with cannot resolve your issue, he or she will escalate it to the proper agent who can and if you request a phone call, we will be happy to have someone reach out to you that way.

If you can send me any of the incident numbers and your order number, I'd like to make sure someone calls you to discuss this issue and finds out what happened and why it happened. I'd very much like the chance to resolve this for you. I look forward to your response and helping resolve this issue.

I ordered a straightening iron that was originally priced at $200 and got it for... I don't remember, really low. It was my first purchase through groupon. It works! It's a great iron and it came w/ a heat protecting mask for the hair and a travel bag with lining inside so that the bag doesn't get burned. Then I purchased food coupons where you buy $40 worth of food for $10 at Johnny Rockets. That was valid and so far, no complaints. There was an offer that you can get up to $120 worth of products from NuMe Products for $15. I did pay $15 which then redirected me to their website. With this particular offer, you basically buy a $15 gift card or coupon so it only takes $15 off anything you buy. I just wanted a curling wand and thought I could buy it for $15 but instead, I'd have to pay $49 to make up the difference. So I got a refund (Credit) and told them I can buy a curling wand through Amazon and it wouldn't cost me that much. They replied very quickly and their refund policy is right there on your receipt- They honor you with a refund within 7 days of purchase. Their customer service was pretty good, online that is. I've never had to call. So far my experience has been really good with Groupon as a consumer.

**Update**

Wow I guess I've been a Groupon customer for 2 years now! I absolutely LOVE Groupon. I have purchased 1 product that did not work at all, and they apologized & quickly provided me with a full refund before I even asked. I have purchased tickets to many events: Kevin Hart comedy shows, fairs, and more food groupons. I highly recommend them, even if they do contribute to Planned Parenthood lol.- December 2015

The email I sent to their "support":
For a company based completely online this has to be the WORST experience I have ever had with shipping and returns. I placed an order on April 7, a month ago, and I only just received the last item that I purchased TODAY. When I made the purchase there was no idication that this was a back ordered item, I'm glad it wasn't supposed to be a birthday gift for a friend or another time sensitive occasion.

Since you're return policy penalizes the customer for your latent shipping, I would be spending over $40 in returns if I needed to send back items from each order. Items bought online do not always fit right or look like the picture online, and a well run company would make returns and shipping a place to stand out and shine, instead of being a sleazy way to charge extra money. I did use the Live Chat to speak with a very curt and unfriendly rep who gave me a free return because my single order came in three parts with deliveries full weeks from each other. But that is not an experience I would ever want to repeat just so that I can get decent service.

On top of all of that, both of the necklaces that I purchased were broken right out of the box! Unacceptable. Everything on the site is cute, and the prices are great but it's just a trap for bad policies and hidden extra charges. I wish I could just send everything back and let it be a lesson that things are too good to be true. I will not be recommending your site to anyone in the future unless, by some miracle, you could make any of this right. In the meantime you should research online stores such as Twice, who do it right and with style.

Hi, S,

Thank you for reaching out to us via Site Jabber. I am so sorry for any confusion regarding our shipping time frames as well as our return policies.

As we are a flash sale site, many of our items are not available for shipping for 2-3 weeks after checkout. This is not a "back order" issue, so much as the nature of a flash sale site. It has everything to do with why our prices are so reasonable: we don’t keep any inventory. Instead, we work directly with the manufacturers, who ship to us, and then we ship to you. This can result in a longer wait time than you may be accustomed to, but it also ensures a high degree of quality control, guaranteed authenticity, and those great prices. Please note, the expected ship date is listed on the item sale page, the check out page, the email confirmation sent after checkout, as well as available in your order history. If your items shipped after this date, I would be happy to look in to the delay and let you know why this occurred and you weren't notified sooner.

We are always happy to add to a return. If you have an order coming in multiple shipments (as we like to get each item to you as quickly as possible) you can always set up the return and hold on to it until the other times arrive. Then, just contact us and let us know what items you would like to return with it and we will make you an updated return label.

If you would like, send me a private message with your order number or registered email address and I can look in to all your concerns and review the chat for coaching opportunities.

I look forward to hearing from you.
