For exactly 120 for a couples massage was not reflected on my account. I contacted groupon and gave them the order number in question as well as screenshots of my confirmation email. Instead of inquiring on the issue they refunded a second groupon voucher I bought for a movie ticket in the amount of 26.45 when I paid 29.45 and skipped out on paying my 3 additional dollars. When I contacted them a third time, my email was blocked. I would have been fine calling and explain this issue but there is no customer service number. Beware of the bs. Groupon is sketchy.
We were so excited my husband was given this as a birthday gift…. The extra expenses have been ridiculous… extra $100 each to fly out from Brisbane… extra costs to sit together on flight… car hire for 3 days cause a very basic motel is not near city, beach, etc…. We were not honoured any of our three Friday and Saturday night options… had to fly out on a Thursday… taking away our income (haven't even gone and down $1060)… gosh I hope our bottom of the peeking order destination is worth it!
So scammed. Payed 60$ and got nothing! Thats right an expired groupon code that did absolutely NOTHING.

I have probably purchased 20+ Groupons over the years... it was my go to site for restaurant deals. I've also bought Groupons for different products and services and never had a problem, until now. Recently I purchased a Groupon for the Spy Museum in DC as a gift for my fiancé who is in the military. We had just moved to the area, so I thought it would be something fun to do. Soon after I purchased this deal, he was sent overseas, so it could not be used. I contacted Groupon and told them that he would not be returning before the expiration date, so I would no longer be able to use it and wondered if there was anything that could be done - the expiration dates are what get me. You are usually forced to use the Groupon within a month or two, so pay very close attention to these dates (and if you're military and suddenly have to go overseas, you're SOL). Anyway, Since we just moved here and I don't have any friends that I could invite to the museum, I asked if there was some sort of military clause where if proven that he was deployed, I could get my money back... Stupid question... of course not. $25 wasted and a lesson learned. If you are in the military, it's probably a good idea to stay away from Groupon... if you are suddenly deployed or have to move before the expiration date, there's nothing that they will do for you. So you can fight for their freedom, but they won't credit your account $25 to use on something else... terrible customer service. I've been buying from one of their competitors with no expiration dates ever since. Works for us since we don't know where we will be from month to month. As a loyal Groupon customer for years, I am extremely disappointed in their customer service. There is a military clause in a lease when renting an apartment or a house, and I can't get a measly (to them) $25 credited back to my account for a service that was never used. Ridiculous.

Buyer beware. Groupon had a deal for a 7 piece jacquard bedding set, I purchased 2 of them in a specific color. When it was delivered (in 2 packages), it was the wrong color. I immediately called their customer support and after waiting a while on phone, finally got a live person. I explained the situation to him and he advised me that he would be sending me usps return label for the items. He said that I should print the same one label twice and use it on both packages. I don't work for the post office or nothing but I know this is not doable. I called them again and spoke to another person who advised that she would be sending me an email within minutes with either 2 new mailing labels or an extra mailing label to be used alongside the one I already received (she wasn't sure what I would be receiving). I hung up the phone in good faith and after waiting over 2 hours for this label, called again. Spoke to the 3rd person who said she wasn't sure why I was sent the same label for 2 packages and that she was going to speak to a manager about this. Came back saying my options were to 1) ship the items back in one box (clearly, the times were 2 big for one box which is why groupon sent them to me in 2 separate packages) or 2) she would pass this along to the groupon goods team to resolve. According to her, she had no idea who this team was and all she knew to do was submit a ticket which would be forwarded to them for response within 3 business days. It's the holiday season, I am out money, have to go look for new gifts for the intended recipients of this and then have to deal with groupon expecting me to use 1 shipping label for 2 separate packages. I am now waiting to see if/when I will hear back from the groupon goods team on this. I don't recall having such difficulty returning an item (as a result of the shipper's error). Keeping fingers crossed that I can be rid of these bedding items sooner than later. As far as groupon is concerned, proceed with caution.
I can't even believe the amazing customer service they provided for me! I purchased a Groupon for $200.00 that was for a $400.00 service. I was really excited that I got such a great deal on something I really wanted to do. However, due to some personal things I wasn't able to actually use the coupon I had already purchased (months after the fact I might add). I was upset for a week or so that I was just out that money, after all every penny counts these days. So after that week I decided to email their customer service just to see if there's anything they could do. I emailed explaining my situation and asked if they could even give me a partial refund, and the employee emailed me back after a few hours (fast in my experience with online companies). He asked me for a little more information on my purchase, which I sent soon after. The next email I got, only a few minutes later, was to inform me that my FULL refund was on it's way. Not only that, but the guy who emailed me wished me well on my personal situation and told me he was sending good vibes my way! THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SITE FOR CONSUMERS.
Groupon does not stand behind their services but simply takes commissions. I purchased a GROUPON VOUCHER for a spa manicure for a spa in Huntington NY (Trilogy Spa) and pedicure deal and received a basic express mani pedi. Despite what my GROUPON VOUCHER 's services clearly spelled out and what I received Groupon's only recourse is to pass product/service issues onto the business directly and they take on zero accountability and or responsibility for the transaction and services they are representing and taking commissions on. Due to the fact in this case there was no way to reach the owner, simply an answering machine on site where the technician that provides the service picks up the calls so you cannot freely leave a message. I paid double for a service I didn't want. GROUPON WAS A NIGHTMARE in dealing with the complaint and did not stand behind the offering. GROUPON presented nothing but obstacles in my attempts to unsubscribe and close my Account. My Message to you DO NOT USE GROUPON and support your quality brands and definitely go to your favorite spa and pay the big bucks and get what you pay for. DO NOT USE GROUPON AND STAY CLEAR OF TRILOGY.
Tip for consumers:
Groupon accepts no accountability for the sales and commissions they accept. In my experience, the services and products they represent have been marginal or inferior. It is too risky and time consuming to use Groupon. From my three experiences, I recommend avoiding Groupon at all costs. Pay the big bucks for spa services at a reliable business. Perhaps Groupon attracts and or specializes in bottom feeding and or low budget start ups so it is not worth the loss of $. time and aggravation.

We booked a Creek Cat Tour through Groupon for our recent trip to HHI. The company called us three days after original booking to tell us that when we booked their creek cats were down and that on that date, they were STILL down. We cancelled immediately, received a cancellation notice and requested a Groupon refund to the credit card issued within an hour of the cancellation. Groupon claims that the voucher was viewed and despite the cancellation notice, they refuse to issue a refund. I have informed them that the card used was not mine and that my boyfriend would like to be refunded in full. They will only issue Groupon bucks despite me telling them that after this ordeal I NEVER plan to use their services again. Do NOT use Groupon. If the company cancels due to COVID19 or maintenance issues after a certain time period (usually too late for you to do anything about it) they will NOT issue you a refund in full which will tie up your funds. Their customer service is the worst and they are not customer friendly. DO NOT USE GROUPON!
A month ago I bought a Prada handbag from Neimen Marcus, but when I saw the same bag was on sale here on Ideeli, I immediately placed the order and returned the one from NM. I was so excited that I told everyone about the new site I found. The expected shipping date for my new bag was May 2-6, however, my bag is still not shipped after several days passing the date. I contacted the customer service about the delayed shipping date, and they said it might take ADDITIONAL 2 weeks for them to ship the item! It is unethical to put INACCURATE information on the site just to attract customers, especially when I returned my NM bag just to buy from their site! I was not that angry until I read some posts on this site about Ideeli. I'm very concerned if they are going to ship my item after 2 months or cancel my order for no reason due to their FAKE INVENTORY. I am not asking for a customer service as good as Nordstrom, but I expect to at least get my authentic item on time without dealing with all kinds of troubles or lies. I really hope they can ship my bag as soon as possible, since I already sent back the one I got from other store, and missed all other promotions while waiting for this Ideeli shipment. If they waste my money I will spare no effort to deal with it and warn other consumers!

I have purchased a few Groupon deals and the only one I didn't have an issue with was one of the Groupon Now deals.
I purchased two vouchers for pizza from Papa Johns. One went through just fine but the other would not work at all. After 4 months of emailing, calling, speaking to several different representatives, explaining the story multiple times, being reassured they the issue was resolved only to try to order a pizza that was already paid for and getting denied did they finally issued me a refund to my credit card. I even had to fight for that because they wanted to issue me a Groupon credit. I still chalked it up to being a one time instance.
Recently, I ordered a Groupon for a tattoo, really great deal. Time had lapsed which was my fault completely and I know the place would honor my Groupon for at least the amount I paid but this place was really far away and gas prices had raised over a dollar in that short period of time. The amount of the Groupon deal justified the drive but not when it expired. I wrote Groupon asking for an exception since the tattoo parlor was a 112 mile drive round trip and I wouldn't only have to make the trip once but twice. My reply from Groupon was simply their policy on expired vouchers and even had an automated message sound to it. So I rewrote the email with hard numbers on miles and finally they issued me a Groupon credit as a "one time exception" but made it seem like I was trying to scam them.
Their Groupon guarantee states if I have an issue redeeming a voucher they'll either make it right or give me my money back but both times I've had to fight like hell and it's not "as simple as that". Not to mention this last time I didn't get my money back, they still have my money to only spend with their company.
Working in customer service for 10+ years I guess I've come to expect more compassion for the consumer who they'd like to keep especially since they aren't the only Group buy company out there anymore. After I use my credit I'm never using them again.

We have been using Groupon for quite some time. Had a very bad experience in the past when we purchase a voucher for a French restaurant in Ft. Lauderdale, when the bill came we gave the groupon to the waiter and he said to us that they no longer take Groupon and they have been trying to get it removed from Groupon.com but any intent has been a waist of time for them, luckily we have the money to pay the bill but I can only imagine the embarrassment if we didn't! We are loyal customers of that restaurant and know the owner, they are good people and I know they were not lying as Groupon refund us. We decided to give it another try and have been using it for at least another year since then.
On December 18th, 2014 I purchase a Monogram necklace for my sons girlfriend, her birthday was 2 days ago and never received the necklace. I have been trying to resolve the issue for over a week with the monogram company as we didn't received the necklace on time but they did charge my bank account immediately!, Yesterday I received an email from the monogram company saying that my order has been canceled and still don't know by who? I contacted Groupon and they did offer me a refund which obviously I accept as I'm not giving my money away! Unfortunately the refund doesn't fix that my son now looks horrible with his girlfriend and even like a liar as he had offer her the necklace but the rude customer service representative stated that they will take up to 10 days to refund us the money! I said to him you debit my account immediately but now you will take 10 days to give me the money back? His answer was, you need to talk to your bank about that as is not us! How did he knows that within seconds of the conversation without contacting my bank? I will advise everyone to stay away from Groupon as is a scam and you will not received what they offer! I gave it the benefit of the doubt with the 1st fiasco but will never use it again, they should be out of business.
