For exactly 120 for a couples massage was not reflected on my account. I contacted groupon and gave them the order number in question as well as screenshots of my confirmation email. Instead of inquiring on the issue they refunded a second groupon voucher I bought for a movie ticket in the amount of 26.45 when I paid 29.45 and skipped out on paying my 3 additional dollars. When I contacted them a third time, my email was blocked. I would have been fine calling and explain this issue but there is no customer service number. Beware of the bs. Groupon is sketchy.
We were so excited my husband was given this as a birthday gift…. The extra expenses have been ridiculous… extra $100 each to fly out from Brisbane… extra costs to sit together on flight… car hire for 3 days cause a very basic motel is not near city, beach, etc…. We were not honoured any of our three Friday and Saturday night options… had to fly out on a Thursday… taking away our income (haven't even gone and down $1060)… gosh I hope our bottom of the peeking order destination is worth it!
Really easy to shop and great place to get deals from. Definitely worth my time and money shopping here. Awaiting more great deals from them!
I always get highlights and do be very pleased with the Very friendly staff, also do good offers and over all very happy with service
While most of these reviews are from the consumer's point of view, here is one from a business point of view! I am a Registered Massage Therapist. I have been doing Deep Tissue work for over 7 1/2 years. I just branched out on my own, and opened my own office, and a friend convinced me to give Groupon a try, as a way to get that first group of clients.
This was my first time dealing with Groupon. Their reporting system is confusing, the rep who set me up, initially, was pushy, and she actually set me up as if I was a mult-person spa or clinic, when I told her several times that I was an individual! That means that my monthly limits of how many Groupon vouchers would be sold was at least 4 times too high! I also didn't understand that it would be repeating every month!
I ended up pausing it several times, in an attempt to try and control the number of Groupon clients who were clogging up my schedule. I was encouraged to keep turning it back on - and I felt I had no choice, as my schedule was clogged with Groupons, which meant that there was no room available for full-paying clients, and I had to pay my rent! I repeatedly asked for my monthly limits to be cut back, and asked for help with dealing with the issue. My rep pretended to be helpful, but didn't actually do much of anything, and when I told him that I would soon be forced to either break my contract or loose my place of business, he threatened legal action. (This was after admitting that I was set up incorrectly by Groupon!)
Now, I am still trying to sort things out, however, I am most likely going to be forced to behave like one of the businesses receiving complaints. I will do my best to accommodate as many clients as I can, and be as fair as I can, but something will have to give!
So, too long, didn't read: Groupon sets up it's businesses to fail: they just want to sell as many vouchers as they can, overwhelming the business until they are on the verge of collapsing, then send the legal watchdogs after the business owners! Oh, and there's no guarantee that they will refund the clients, either! It's a win-win-win - for THEM!
Business Owners BEWARE!
I'm a business owner who was totally ignored while running my deal. I ran a deal with Groupon about six months ago for my hair salon and it was on OK experience. Groupon representative actually contacted me first about being featured on their site.We offered a discount for first-time clients and actually got about 1000 new people to try us out.My representative was easily reachable to answer any questions. Since I was pleased with that experience I wanted to give it another try for my other business: a tanning salon. We had brought a Red Light Therapy to the tanning salon, anti-aging light therapy that stimulates collagen production. We were very excited about this new service and thought that Groupon.com with it's all of it's subscribers will be a great idea to advertise this new technology.
I contacted the same representative I dealt with before, but let me tell you it was a totally different experience. I tried contacting her by phone but she never returned any of my phone calls. The only e-mail she replied to was an e-mail with my signed contract and it said "Great"
My deal was supposed to run on Sunday so Friday night I get the preview of my deal page and it says it's going to be a side deal! I didn't want to be a side deal because I know that side deal don't get the same exposure as the smart deals and it wasn't part of the agreement. So I write her an e-mail back just to confirm. Someone else(I think her assistant)e-mails me back Saturday afternoon that indeed it's going to be side deal. I expressed how disappointing that was and wished to wait with this offer until it can be a featured deal... of course I haven't heard from anyone since.
Needless to say we were featured as a side deal and sold 11 groupons.Of course my representative wasn't reachable this time. Unlike many businesses that feature offers on Groupon.com and loose money I actually was going to make some money and advertise a wonderful, new service to the public.
I will never use Groupon again and I don't recommend it for any business owners!
I have used this site to save at least $100 at a local butcher and the same amount at a local pizzeria.
I shop online with Groupon and I love their email notice on reduced pricing on quality products and swift and reliable services.
Groupon has been responsive when I have had a problem, and they follow through when there is a problem!
DO NOT BUY FROM GROUPON IF YOU ARE GIFTING SOMETHING TO SOMEONE, AND DO NOT USE BUTLER DETAIL FOR AUTO DETAIL. An international friend thoughtfully had given me a Groupon Butler detail for a car I had loaded him. When contacted, Butler detail could only schedule a month out. On the scheduled day, I got a call that he was unable to come, but would call to reschedule at the end of the week. No call. So I called several times before getting a return call. Now the only dates available were another month out, so I asked him to cancel the order and return the money. Not able to he said, you have to make those arrangements with Groupon. At Groupon I was told that they could not cancel the order without talking to the account holder (who is now out of the country, and in military so not available for several months to a year). So, if it is a gift, do not use Groupon. Far better to do something else where the person you gift can get something for what you pay. And do not use Butler Detail. Special shout out to Amber, and Allison, and Naveen at Groupon for their not help. Do hope the people they do business with are equally unhelpful and equally as hurtful to their personal time and finances.

This site is so frustrating. I've never used it before but, I decided to give it a try, I found something I wanted to do and I put went to check out and it took me to my PayPal for payment. It never said that the payment went through so I assumed that it didn't because, it never let me know that. So I keep doing it over and over, afterwards I decided that it wasn't working and so I went to the place that I wanted the groupon for and I told them I tried to purchase from Groupon and it wouldn't go through, well thank God they told me to look in my groupons because, I literally purchased the same item 4 times and one for the other place. We're talking about $1,000 worth of these vouchers. I didn't know what to do so I looked up Groupon customer service and I couldn't even speak to a person, and they have a crappy voice message saying to go online. It's a complete nightmare. Please know what you're getting yourself into. I had to call my bank, PayPal, and even canceled the vouchers on Groupon. Buyer beware.
Firstly, i used to have a great experience with IDEELI until yesterday.
#*******: I receieved this package and something is missing. I reported it, i still havent heard from them yet.
#*******: This was cancelled due to failure to authorize since i am overseas, i cannot get my card at home in the USA to authorize it. I am on a business trip right now, so i didnt realize what was happening to my ideeli account.
The online chat staff Jessica has an attitude and after talking to her for 15 mins (very frustrating convo), all i got was sorry the items are not available anymore. WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME IN THE FIRST PLACE!?
Aren't the staff suppose to help u buy things and not trying to stop you or making it REALLY difficult? AND the online staff blamed it on "the situation being confusing". NOW THAT- is confusing!
I really like the stuff on that order and it just make me angry because I am a customer and a fly to be shooed off.
I wish there is MORE flexibility and understanding. More listening then trying to NOT help customers and stop being robotic and have some human element and compassion in their customer service.
I work for a magazine and i will make sure this is told to other ppl. I found this site and it is great research.
I have purchased items from Groupon and have nothing but great experiences! Save some $ and shop Groupon!
Groupon takes money out of the local economy. Call the businesses and offer to pay them the money if you want to support local businesses.
Some of the ads are not worded well.
Some things are coming from the us and it does not state Canadian or us well enough.
Watch out for the small print... You can get vouchers for an outing but the vouchers don't cover you for everything and it can cost you on the day...
I loved this website. I check this website each and every day. They are providing best deals on many websites
I bought couple tickets on Groupon, online for Cirque du Soleil, Varekai Show, August, 23rd. By the time I bought there, since I couldn't complete the purchase online, I had to use customer service online, they were really helpful, I was able to complete the tickets buy. But, at show time when I was claiming my tickets on will call office, they weren't able to find any where around through my email confirmation sent out by Groupon to me the nominal G-tickets. At that point I had to buy again my tickets for the show on tickets office. I was at a later time reviewing the confirmation and I couldn't find that G-tickets confirmation either, same over my Groupon. When I emailed back to Groupon, with an explanation of my events and trying to get a refund, their answer was adverse and I couldn't get not even a consolation coupon or something. Going forward I would recommend to general public stay away from buying on Groupon unless they are certain about their getting a clear confirmation, or a good G-ticket to the show.
I like Groupon simply because it gives me an opportunity to get discounts when I shop. Discounts are good as I love to shop
I always check Groupon.com for deals on my area. I don't always find what I'm looking for, but I can almost always find something else I can use.
I have been using Groupon for a number of years and had the first sign of potential problems last year with an unfulfilled order which I had to chase when it never arrived.
In early March, well in advance of lockdown, I placed 2 orders. One I received a refund for without any prior notification or explanation and the second they wrote to me about on 20th March to advise the supplier could not fulfil the order. It was outside the designated time for delivery so I followed this up when I did not receive the refund.
I followed it up again and again and again receiving the same generic cut and paste responses which made it more infuriating so I made a claim through Paypal on 27/3/20.
I was still chasing Groupon who, through they obvious outsourced Customer Service, kept sending me these annoying cut and paste replies.
Finally, I received my refund through Paypal. Groupon failed to respond so obviously Paypal found in my favour.
Today, 24/4/20, Groupon have written again telling me they have cancelled the order despite not referring to their email of 20/3/20 when they told me they were unable to fulfil it, and they were issuing me a refund.
Disgraceful business practise, misleading offers they cannot fulfil (and this was prior to lockdown) and the most appalling and incompetent Customer Service. Hopefully someone in the UK sector of Groupon will read this as I am now about to cancel my account with Groupon and suggest anyone thinking of placing an order think twice about doing so especially in times like these when a big Company refuses to refund money they have already undertaken to pay back to the extent I had to get Paypal to intervene.
Unfortunately it is not an easy job to cancel your account which makes it even worse
I purchase a set of non stick pan on 14 March 15. As it has indicated that delivery would be send within 7 days. I waited until 24 March 15 and the goods never reached. Send them an email and they responded that the goods were already out of stock and asked me if I am able to wait for another week for the arrival of the stock. I agreed and waited again.
Then, on 1 April 15, I send them a reminder asking about my goods. And they replied was that it had been collected by the delivery company on 31 March 15 and told me to contact them for delivery timing.
I contacted the company NNHAS and spoke to the staff. When I gave them my order no, they told me that they would be checking. They did not get back to me for an update and as usual the phone line was not answered.
It was on 8 April 15, I send an emailed on my goods and even contacted Groupon to complaint a day before.
Today, 9 April 15, when I came home, I saw a parcel right on my doorsteps.
WHAT A WAY TO DELIVER THE GOODS. Nnhas IS THIS THE WAY TO DELIVER THE GOOD TO YOUR CUSTOMERS CUSTOMERS!. There wasnt any phone call to inform of your arrival. And what about the invoice?. Your delivery staff signed himself?.
I have never experienced a problem with Groupon. The only criticism I have is that the I wish the coupons would have a longer usage period.
I started a deal with groupon in 2013 I tried to change it in December 2014 put numerous calls into groupon and never heard back from anyone finally got in touch with some person who told me he would change it for me and never called me back finally after more numerous calls and no response I told anyone calling to redeem the vouchers that I could not except them and to call groupon for a refund so finally after a few people decided to call and get refunds groupon calls me, of course because they were losing money now and when I explained the situation to a roman cota from groupon, o and by the way he was my primary contact that I was told he did not work there anymore, that was the reason no one call me back which was a line of grap, roman stated he was going to send an email to the other person to call me but instead I received this,,,, Thank you for speaking with me earlier, and once again I'm sorry to hear that you are no longer honoring vouchers at your business. Since you are no longer able to honor Groupons, we have stopped any future payments. So I will be contactinf a lawyer in regards to this because there should be no reason to hold any payments for vouchers redeemed.
So I hope someone reads this and will avoid dealing with groupon
