For exactly 120 for a couples massage was not reflected on my account. I contacted groupon and gave them the order number in question as well as screenshots of my confirmation email. Instead of inquiring on the issue they refunded a second groupon voucher I bought for a movie ticket in the amount of 26.45 when I paid 29.45 and skipped out on paying my 3 additional dollars. When I contacted them a third time, my email was blocked. I would have been fine calling and explain this issue but there is no customer service number. Beware of the bs. Groupon is sketchy.
We were so excited my husband was given this as a birthday gift…. The extra expenses have been ridiculous… extra $100 each to fly out from Brisbane… extra costs to sit together on flight… car hire for 3 days cause a very basic motel is not near city, beach, etc…. We were not honoured any of our three Friday and Saturday night options… had to fly out on a Thursday… taking away our income (haven't even gone and down $1060)… gosh I hope our bottom of the peeking order destination is worth it!
I bought stuff from Groupon, some good, some bad. You just hve to be lucky i think. I got also very, very bad stuff, stuff i wanted to send back and Groupon gave me kind of code to send it back. So it was allowed and i got my money back. Also because of being in the hospital i couldnt use a voucher and i got my money back in credits minus 10 percent... was not happy about th 10% but hey, better something then nothing. What i got lately was about jewelry, but that seemed to be kind of scam; its written that there is Svarowski crystals in it, but... most of the jewelry is crap. Not even worth the postal costs! Got a voucher of a parking lot near the Airport, but that firm was bad, very bad. It came onto a consumersprogram on tv and the director of Groupon was there too explaining that they couldnt do anything about bad performance. So, you very well hve to know what you want and if you really need what groupon is offering you. I myself most of the time go for the facial treatments, they are much cheaper and that way i can afford to go to the beautrist now and then ;)
I bought adidas coupon of their site and it was ok in the moment of purchase. I tried to use it couple months later it says it's empty. So I contact their support without any hopes but you never know. Omg what a dreadful experience it is. They ask me for all details, then they stop answering, then they tell me to contact adidas directly(?), then adidas redirects me back rightfully so because they are not seller of the gift card, then groupon ignores me for couple of messages, then they ask for all details all over again, then they send me to adidas, then after I explain that I already went through all this they ask me for all details about gift cards again and finally they escalate my ticket.
First think when ticket is escalated, guy redirects me to adidas. Ok I explain for like 5th time that adidas doesn't want to do anything with my order on groupon site, he tells me to go to phyiscal store. He is not even pretending to try to help, just trying to answer a mail and move on. I explain that I'm not able to visit phyical store location then he gives me great idea:
Contact adidas directly.
I didn't have any hopes about recovering my gift card when I contacted them first time but their attitude towards clients is something unparallel in my 20years experience on the internet.
After running a misleading deal for Harlem Globetrotters tickets I asked them to abide by their "Groupon Promise" which at that time simply stated: "If you ever feel like Groupon let you down, give us a call and we'll return your purchase – simple as that." When I asked for my money back, they argued that there are blogs and other resources that explain what their promise REALLY means. This was less than a month ago.
NOW THERE PROMISE READS: "We're confident in the businesses we feature on Groupon and back them with the Groupon Promise. If the experience using your Groupon ever lets you down, we'll make it right or return your purchase. Simple as that.
If you'd like to return a purchase for any other reason, our Customer Support team will work with you to help make it right. Contact us."
WOW, There must have been alot of people who were mislead by their wording for them to change their promise... Groupon stood their ground and WOULD NOT refund my money. I had to file a dispute with my CC Company after which Grouon folded like a tent. They are great until you have a problem.
They have terrible customer service. They are rude and took my money because of their system error and blamed it on the hotel.
Offer for £19... We regularly buy at £15 so why is £19 + £1.99 a good deal. It's a con!
Leave it out
Its just a little embarrassing when you produce that slip of paper at dinner. However, some deals are good, if you are lucky
I bought a jewelry from Groupon for $30 and it says 14k. Now the jewelry was dark brown. I don't trust them anymore.
Worst website ever
Worst customer service
Had to chase them to get my tracking information
Delay in delivery, wont refund you.
Not reliable
A big clap for groupon. I really got very good discounts on my order and the quality of my order was just perfect.
I had written a negative review on Groupon but I had to retract it because they took care of the issue big time.
There a good deals but usually hard to find amongst the crap repeat bs ads! Make sure to read all the fine print
Customer service is a joke. My emails haven't been answered and chats get expedited to a supervisor who may or may not exist.
Tip for consumers:
Check with the technician before your service to make sure you didn't purchase a discount vs. the actual oil change. It was a real bummer to spend $116 on a $70 oil change.
Products used:
Purchased the valvoline Groupon. After spending $56 of the groupon, valvoline charged me $60 for the oil change. The technician said i purchased a discount, not an actual oil change.
Can't use the site whatsoever and lost a bunch of money, ideeli was my favorite clothing site, and now it's all over. Will never use it again, sad.
They have defects in their devices but don't do replacements but do returns makes no sense at all this is so unfair I hate this low budget site
I like this site. Occasionally, get great deals! I have never had a problem with any order, and have orderd from them more than twenty times.
My first time using Groupon Goods and I will NEVER buy from them again. I have waited over 12 days for my order and it still shows "awaiting fulfillment." After digging deep to try to find a contact number (which they clearly bury on their site so they don't have to listen to how bad they are) I called and waited for 38 minutes on hold. When the customer service rep got on the phone he told me he couldn't help me because there was no update to my order. I told him to cancel but he can't because there is no update number to do so. So i asked if he thought it was acceptable business practice to not have fulfilled an order 12 days out and that i should be held hostage on a purchase that may or may not be fulfilled. He had no answer other than to say without an updated tracking number he can't help. Well i can't have an updated tracking number if the item hasn't even been fulfilled or shipped yet. The most ridiculous circle jerk i've ever witnessed. I was told to call back in three more days so i can wait on hold again with another useless person. I get orders faster from zullily that even notes on their site they don't ship until all items have been purchased in that stock. Just ridiculous. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. NO AMOUNT OF SAVINGS IS WORTH THIS BS.
Tip for consumers:
DON'T!
I recently order over 2000. 00 worth of goods from groupon, all of which were way before the crazy christmas rush. The total amount of items were 20 and out of the 20 i have only received 9 items. The others apparently were lost in the mail from ups and usps. I was told by both ups and usps that i would need to speak with groupon due to the fact that groupon's account does not cover any type of investigation. 1 of the items that were ordered was a diamond ring that i paid well over 500.00 for. When I opened the box it was to my surprise that the ring was not in there. I spoke with Groupon over 20 times regarding the matter and was told it was not their problem they will not be issuing any type of refund and will not be sending out any products. Basically its my issue and I need to figure it out. The rest of the items included tablets, computers, jewelry, etc. (Christmas Gifts). I normally dont do online shopping but this year due to work and a new baby I was unable to really go out and shop so i figured "hey lets use groupon" BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE. NOW IM OUT MY MONEY AND I DONT HAVE THE PRODUCTS. I am currently getting law enforcement, and a lawyer involved. GROUPON is a FRAUD. BE CAREFUL USING THEM. I DEFINITELY NEVER WILL EVER AGAIN! THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPPORT IS EXTREMELY RUDE, AND UNPROFESSIONAL.
Tip for consumers:
DONT USE IT. BETTER OFF ORDERING DIRECTLY THROUGH THE COMPANY OR LIVING SOCIAL IS ANOTHER COMPANY THAT HAS THE SAME EXACT DEALS JUST BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!
The second bad experience Iwith Groupon. I bought a cal king mattress and received a queen size, but offered to keep it if groupon refunded the difference. Groupon refused and asked me to photography the item so they could see it. After the pics they acknowledged it was their mistake and accepted the return. When I called UPS to pick up the item I found out the return shipping label groupon provided was not for that kind of item(mattress) and I had to pay about $300 to have it shipped. SInce I refused to pay, then Groupon CS decided to refund the difference and I kept the item, what was my offer since the begin.
IMPORTANT: On the main page, the item was showing FREE SHIPPING to return the item, but on the fine prints (a couple clicks after) it said the item was final sale and not returnable - very misleading to say the least - I never saw it and could've ended up with a loss of $600. I don't recommend Groupon, but if you want to buy from it, check fine prints, compare the prices making sure the description, model, etc. are the same on regular business. I'm still shopping for the mattress and found out it's almost impossible to compare. Example, "beautyrest recharge world class" mattress has several models, but groupon does not mention which one it's offering. The prices for same brand, on Amazon.com and on the Seras store near by my home, goes from $1100 to $1600, not the $3000 for $1299 advertised on groupon. Also, on Groupon it's final sale. On Amazon and at Sears the customer gets 100 nights tryout and full refund if not satisfied.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you compare apples to apples. The Groupon site can be misleading on the item descriptions and not tell the model - you may be buying a discontinued item that can be found for cheaper somewhere else. Also, if you're trying-out the product, make sure the item can be returned. Don't trust the product advertisement (it always will say the return shippng is free) - check the fine prints to know if it can be returned.
I liked Groupon previously and used it all the time but this year has been down right awful. It doesn't check the companies it does business with and promotes false advertising. One car wash company didn't have two locations any more that were advertised on Groupon during its deal. Then after I complained I couldn't get in touch with the owner or any one to schedule an appt. Tried to give me groupon credit instead of crediting my credit card.
Another time, it false advertised a restaurant location for a restaurant deal. I figured that out right away so canceled the order immediately.
Twice now the website wouldn't let me order a deal and asked for assistance and a credit since the deal was over and only couldn't get it because of Groupon's website malfunction. They would not budge to give me even 1 groupon bucks. I lost out on 27% savings this last time. I was very upset.
I am using the groupons I have and using up the credits and then I am canceling my account.
I am also fighting some thing via credit card because groupon isn't even responding to a return request which was submitted via the website as required. I've been trying to return it after receiving it and no luck as yet.
I will use travelzoo and livingsocial from now on and stay away from Groupon deals or should I say non-deals.
Tip for consumers:
don't use it any more. bad at customer service and caring about issues. They are also using non-US customer service locations. They do not try to accommodate errors on their part.
I gave a one star review but if I could I would give no stars due to the inconvenience that I experienced during this transaction.
I bought three tickets to attend Jurassic Quest in Bristol Tennessee. The tickets per Groupon were listed for Mar 11-13 2022, but the actual date for the quest was Mar 18-20 2022.
The dates that Groupon posted was incorrect and they would not give my money back or do anything to resolve the issue. The entire transaction seemed like a scam due to Groupon posting the tickets for the wrong date and then not being able to come to any resolution for their mistake.
It took almost two weeks for Groupon to even understand the issue. And even then they did understand, they not reach out to me. I was always the one reaching out and trying to get this resolved. Groupon stated "There is nothing we can do." However, Being such a large establishment it is hard for me to accept that Groupon had no way of making this right. Even reaching out to the merchant there was no resolution. I pressed further because if this is happening to me imagine the thousands or even possible millions of users that are being scammed and taken advantage of by this company. They eventually gave me Groupon bucks after I pressed and pressed about the issue, had I not done this they would have kept my money, however, giving me Groupon bucks was not satisfactory. I now feel tied down and obligated to use a service that I feel had taken advantage of me and my time. I would rather have my hard earned money back.
I could understand if this was a small business and if their processes was new, however Groupon was established in 2008. The unprofessional experienced and the lack of customer service has really shown me the kind of business this company truly is.
I would not recommend Groupon to anyone. I will make sure to tell everyone my story so they know my experience with Groupon.
I used to love the site - good customer service, great offers. But too many times now I purchase a good and after the allotted time stated for shipping, I get an email saying the product is delayed... and then another one... and then a receive an email saying Whoops, we oversold... no product for you, here is a refund. The last two times that happened the good was a gift for a friend - the same friend - so both times I had to say "Your gift will be late" and then "Sorry, no gift, let me make it up to you." It is arguable whether this is Groupon's fault or not but there should be something in place - worked out with Groupon and the company selling products on Groupon - to ensure that this doesn't happen. I also had an issue where I purchased a custom-made good (on 1minime.com - don't EVER go there - it is truly a scam - not just saying that, read through hundreds of reviews later stating that they, too, were scammed by this company) then paid above and beyond the purchase price for shipping and other features, only to have the product never get made and the company refuse to refund my money and then refuse to write me back (long story short - I purchased a custom bobble-head in December. Ordered it in February, still had not received it or a refund by September - had to file through my credit card company and Paypal - it was a mess) Groupon was helpful (refunded my Groupon price) but was unable to get the rest of my money refunded - I understand that they really did try to help but if they are facilitating business transactions on their site then they need to be a little more critical of who they do business with. Again - used to love Groupon but sadly, too many issues now.
First I have to admit Groupon does offer some great LOCAL deals. Just be sure when considering a deal on an item, Google it first. Many times I have found the item cheaper online. Now for Groupons Getaways, I CAN NOT warn you enough! Make sure you not only thoroughly read but PRINT every word that's on the ad & fine print, I thoroughly read it but didn't print it and found myself paying an outrageous deposit fee at check-in, in addition to the Daily Resort fees & taxes I had already paid. The hotel stated it was because I had booked through a 3rd party. I called Groupon & the customer service agent was very rude and assured me it was in the fine print and I should go back to the ad & review. I tried. The ad was no longer posted and the info on my purchase which is in your MY GROUPON setting had no info either. Once you use your Groupon, you will get a message pop up asking you if you'd like to leave feedback. Ironically, every time I try to click on the link I continually get an error message stating the site that I am trying to access is unavailable at this time. Anyway, after all monies paid, my "deal" was not so much a good deal.
Many interesting offers for different services. Before buying anything I usually search for groupon deals :)
Ok, I have been a customer for a very long time and have purchassed MANY items, 3-4x they have canceled my order because item unavailable and many times they have shipped me WRONG item for a very coveted purchase but now after being a LOYAL customer for over 3 years they omitted an item from my shipment, on a purchsse of 4 items and have not refunded me as promised in many documented e-mails. They are unavailable by phone, ALL calls go straight to voicemail and have not responded to 4th email when resoultion by date certain passed. HORRIBLE customer service, had to contact credit card company for charge back.
Groupon is the largest "daily deal" site, selling vouchers for discounted local experiences and services such as restaurants and spas, as well as travel packages, shopping, and a number of other items. Vouchers are purchased upfront and typically must be redeemed by a certain date, after which time Groupons expire. To businesses Groupon markets itself as a way to drive new customers. Groupon is a public company (NASDAQ: GRPN) and is based in Chicago, IL.
Hi Lori,
I'm terribly sorry to hear of any trouble. Can you please send me a private message with the order details so I can personally look into this? I'll take care of it right away.
Thank you.
