This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
I looked on the Website at HA and never used any of the services offered by their contractors for an air conditioning job. Since I simply looked on that site I have received at least 12 phone calls from contractors, none of whom I ever contacted myself. My privacy has been compromised. I would never hire a contractor who made a cold call to me. I want to be the person who initiates contact. I will never use their services again.
I no longer have an account with them, so there is no account number.
Stay away from this scam.
You pay a annual fee to receive leads/contacts for jobs.
I was with HomeAdvisor for 3 months and didn't receive ONE lead.
All phone numbers for leads forwarded to me were wrong numbers or no one picking up the calls. They ask for referrals to post onto site but never post them.
I started with a google search and home advisor was the one of the services that I looked at. I'm still a bit foggy about how it works but I was able to get the work done the same day by someone who did a great job. I don't think there is any way I would have found this company on my on.
With all the hype, I was optimistic that they'd be a good lead generator. I know we're beating prices of everyone in our market because we're new and I've done my homework. We didn't close one deal. 70% of the leads were not reachable and the other 30% were just price shopping with no sense of costs. I think the tool is too eager to capture customers that are not really serious and ready to buy.
We highly recommend Garrett Pressure Washing. Arrived on time and are hard workers. They cleaned up when finished. Price was very reasonable. They went above and beyond what we expected. We hired them to clean our metal roof, the gutters and down spouts. They did a fantastic job on them and then they even did extra work and cleaned the front porch where the white paint had green growth on it. Now it is bright white and so clean. They also washed off the storm door and windows. Best workers we have ever hired. We will definitely be calling them again.
Lead after lead false, Lead has know need for service. Lead was looking into services. Take your info without your knowledge and sell that info $60.00 to 119.00. They have sent me over 100 false leads and still keep sending bad leads. The reason i stay with home advisor after all the lies. If you work the opportunities Cost $120.00 However You don't pay if client doesn't accept. These are the only leads i trust after 100 of false leads. Have a Honest 5 star Painting company

I started interviewing contractor companies in July for an October start date. The
Person we saw was not honest with project start/finish time line OR quote. The price went up each time he came over. One week before our target start date, I tried to finalize price & contract. He asked me why I was in "panic mode". When he finally submitted our plans to his draftsman, I asked when it would be finished, he said "You'll be the first to know". I began interviewing contractors who replied in 2-3 days with realistic project time line & cost. Maybe others at CH are more professional, but based on THIS experience, we don't recommend Carriage House.
Tip for consumers:
Person we spoke with at Carriage House was unprofessional and evasive on project timeline & quote. We had a specific target date of which he was aware, but totally ignored. We would rate this experience in the MINUS column. We hired another contractor.
Great experience. We were able to get a company scheduled right away. The only downside is there is no disclaimer or info provided so we understood that Home Advisor/Angie's List charges a fee to every company we ask for an estimate from. I never would have requested four companies of estimates had I known- it isn't fair to the companies.
I needed to clean up a tall coconut tree located in front of my house between the sidewalk and the street. Coconuts and branches were about to fall on the street and sidewalk creaming a dangerous situation. I needed to hire a person as soon as possible to clean up me tree. It was so tall that was not longer able to do it myself. I started by searching the internet. Out of many sites, Home Advisor was the most friendly and well organized site. It provided several choices in my area and had the capability to request estimates from multiple contractors simultaneously. In a matter of seconds I received text messages, e-mails and phone calls from the selected contractors. It really simplified my life. Thank you very much.
I tried HA for two different jobs. One, I needed a handyman... and got inundated with calls from plumbers...(and no handyman). Two: I actually ordered, paid for the service, and they sent a yard contractor who did not have a lawn mower! I had to turn him away---I added the extra star, because they did refund my money (after about 3 emails). So, all in all, I have spent a significant amount of time with Home Advisor, and still have no projects done. Go directly to real businesses, with real employees, who listen.
In short. In long run, they will make sure to suck you dry.
98% of leads i did get from them had some info missing, like: no name, no address, no phone #, no zip code, no descriptions, and of course my favorite of all, the lead you just got was all made up.
These where every day leads that we where paying anywhere from $21 to $87...
Just stay way...
As a first time home buyer; you don't know what to expect. There has been a lot of stress related to the process, but the inspection part was the silver lining for me. Mike Bays went over everything with me answered all my questions and gave me a sense of peace during this process. I would recommend him to anyone!
John, the computer technician/analyst was able to resolve what I could not. I worked on my laptop issue for almost 3 weeks. Researching articles, YouTube, and any other resource I could find. I knew my limits. Frustrated, I finally reached out to someone more knowledgeable than myself. John was great. Made arrangements to meet with him. He repaired my laptop in a very timely manner and his price was very reasonable. I would certainly calling him again and would not hesitate to recommend his services. I was not aware Home Advisor had people who also worked on computers. I happen to stumble on it by accident. I'm glad I did. I am a very satisfied customer.
I have never had to speak with a company like I have this one. We have been using 5 other lead generation companies and never experience anything like this with them. They charged us $800+ In leads we never accepted or contacted. After we already spent $400 in leads that had no success. When signing up for home advisor the customer representative that I talked to for two hours before joining homeadvisor didn't mention we would be billed for any leads sent regardless if we accept or contact the lead. She in fact, made it sound like I would only be charged for the ones I contacted. And when contacting customer service I was told that there was nothing they could do. Long story short, do not spend your hard earned money on this scam of a company that charges your card on file without authorization for leads you never used.
I have used Home Advisor a few times with mixed results in satisfaction with who they recommended. One person came unprepared with the tools he would need for tree trimming and asked to borrow mine. He also relieved himself in a bush in my front yard.
I used a appliance repair company. When I found out the outrageous price to fix a appliance I told him I'd do it my self. He then still charged me close to $100.00 for " traveling fees". With the help of YouTube I did the repair for 75% percent less then what he wanted but was still at a $100.00 loss to pay someone who just drove his repair truck to my house. HomeAdvisor would not post my review because they said I didn't use the repair service.
The arbitration referred by HomeAdvisor to fair claims is an underhand plot only to benefit contractors, as to avoid claims out of court filed in respect of other party.
HomeAdvisor cannot make money without the contractors so it's apparent that they will make you go through the process of a bogus arbitration hoping claimant will draw away from the process. But, when you stay with it soon after they'll put an end to it in favor of their own other party.
Despite the evidence to the contrary, the arbitrator would still rule in favor of the opposing party only because I didn't have a witness. This is not an opinion it's fact.
I tried homeadvisor as a contractor for about 2-3 months. My experience was horrible all they want is your money and they will take as much as they can from you, sending leads that customers are just in planning stages and charging around $70-$90 each one. They send the leads to multiple contractors and charge them all the same fee. Waste of time and money. Contractors stay away from home advisor, and customers i recommend researching local places.
I have hired two different teams of project professionals for my home improvement projects. An Electrical Contractor and a Locksmith. Both are excellent and were recommended by HomeAdvisor. Both are prompt professional meticulously clean and friendly. Excellent craftsmanship and provided great customer services and complete communication throughout the entire process.
Dave and Dan of T&T came over within 2 hours of my calling them to repair a roof leak. They replaced wood underneath the shingles, fixed the air vents that caused the problem, and installed new shingles. I called them at 9:30 and the entire job was complete by 3:00. They answered every question politely and in detail. I recommend their services to anyone and will hire them again if the need arises.
This website pops up when you ask for someone to do home repairs. Not satisfied at all.One company comes gives estimate and never comes back. Another comes when they want and doesn't do everything their asked to do. Just wants to make enough $ for the week end.And another job I had to have done guess there's lazy landscapers in this area put in for one Monday no call back yet. 4 days later.
Lost more money in lead fees than I made on actual leads. HomeAdvisor does not screen for people who are serious about hiring therefore anyone who's only curious about how much a job will cost will be sent to you as a "quality lead". The contractor will pay hundreds of dollars for leads that will never answer the phone and HomeAdvisor will not credit you for. Giant SCAM!
Homeadvisor used to be a reliable source for professionals and I have used them for years. Lately though, their customer service has left a lot to be desired. I just tried to use their fixed-price service and was contacted by someone before I was even finished filling out the inquiry form. This person had trouble explaining the system and was so impatient that she basically hung up on me mid conversation. Very disappointing.
Freddy and his company were so easy to work with. They showed up on time, completed the work quickly at a very fair price. Freddy was there to answer any questions. He was even able to supply workers for drywall repair and rotten wood I was unaware of that they ran into. He takes great pride in delivering a job he's proud of. I will use his for all my work from now on. Please see my before and after
We were with HomeAdvisor Pro for close to 8 months. We left them today. They cost us, a very small beginning company, nearly $2000 in leads. We maybe got 2 or 3 decent jobs with them through that entire period. We also came to find out that they were pulling money from our account weekly instead of monthly (as they told us in the beginning) with no notification. They were also charging us $750 a month for leads as opposed to the $350 we agreed. We paid $738 in leads in the month a June, got maybe made $300 from jobs from them that month. BS. Every rep tells you something different and it's just one issue after another. If they can charge you more, they will with any chance they get. Don't do it.
These people are a bunch of crooks. It's like a tela marketing scam but, worse. They charged me 300 dollars to sign up as a pro then, didn't activate my account for 2 weeks. When they did I got flooded with leads from some places at least 3 hours away from me at costs of up to 75 dollars. It took weeks to get everything somewhat sorted out and I told them to cancel my account and refund my money. They then told me I had to cancel within 72 hours of signing up. I had to change my credit info to stop them from drafting my bank account anymore. How are these people still in business? John@ Chris Matthew Construction
