This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
They charge you an annual subscription to maintain your account and keep your listing, additionally they have two different billing schemes one for exact market match which they sale as a direct lead where they advertise a company as one of the best when in reality they are not, they feature companies with only one or two verified reviews when they have other providers with numerous positive ones which never appear. The same company the owns home advisor also owns Angie's List which double deeps, if you subscribe for a lead on Angie's List it will also push a request on Homeadvisor charging the contractor on both sites. Their leads are also incredibly expensive and range between $25 - $40 per lead.
If I could give less than 1 start, I would. I hired a "painter" to take care of some chipping and peeling paint. He showed up at the property late, looking like he had a late night and wearing the same clothes he went out to the bar in (not what I would expect a painter to wear). He quit after 3 hours because he had to run to Home Depot to pick up more rollers. He left his drop cloth and other materials behind and never came back. He hasn't been heard from since. This is the second time I've hired what I thought would be a vetted contractor from Home Advisor and twice been highly disappointed. I will never use this company again and certainly won't recommend to anyone! Stay clear!
The idea of the site is great, the actual follow through with the companies that the site recommends stinks!
I've had more people try and talk me out of coming to fix my issues than actually want to do a simple job. I seriously have people say, "you real need me to come out? Well, if you can't find someone else call me back". The quality of "companies this site has sucks!
I've been using Home Advisors for a few years now. Every time they recommend someone they have done a great job. Even if there is an issue H. A immediately gets the issue rectified. If your doing any renovations, maintenance on your home this is one of the BEST services to have. It's like having all the great contractors who compete to work for you. I absolutely LOVE it.
First time using this site, to arrange for a handyman to repair my refrigerator. I was informed payment of $113.50 had to be paid before an appointment is scheduled.
I had to take the day off, at the appointed time scheduled, the handyman didn't show up or called. HomeAdvisor, had not contacted me regarding same, after three attempts to resolve this issue with HomeAdvisor, one of the representatives informed me that my refund will be available in three days! That was it nothing more, wow what service!
Not even again

The storm pulled the siding off the side of my house. I called several people they wanted to put up new siding or could not do a small job. These guys came right away and gave a good price. I am a senior and live on a limited income. The took this into consideration.
These are people that you can trust.
Quick To give me names of local contractors -Allen called me within a few hours and we set up a time to do an estimate. Very professional and wonderful gentleman- who does excellent workmanship. I have hired probably a dozen or so contractors from home advisor in past 2-3 yrs and all have been great. Will continue to use home advisor.
60% of the customers they send me don't answer the phone, I get charged $19 to $45 per customer, depending of job type. I only get one out of six jobs they send me. Not worth the money. I basically work for free. I own a lawn care business, and I've been getting charge $27 or more on a lawn that are normally only $35 to mow. There are also lots of bugs with mobile app and website.
Tried it for 2 months and then tried to cancel. I could never get a customer service rep on the phone (called 3 times with over a 45 min wait time each call). I kept "pausing my leads", a service they offer online but you can only pause them for 2 weeks. After that two week period you will get slammed with leads back to back while frantically trying to pause them again and sit on hold for 45 min to try and cancel your service. Total waste of $1300 and a complete scam.
I hired two services through the website. Both were terrible, but at least one service tried to make it right. The other one took me for $5200 and Home Advisor took down my bad review of the company! They are not helping resolve the issue either and basically told me too bad,
Found PYRO Plus Construction on HomeAdvisor. Called Saturday morning, they (Eric and his Dad) came out and repaired our sliding glass door which was really hard to open and close. Took them about an hour. Now the door slides better then new. We have to watch so that we do not catch our fingers while closing the door.
It helps to keep things less stressful to have people share their experiences about companies you are considering to use for a job. Greatly increases likelihood of having a pleasant outcome for the project your doing.
They have coordinators that help you too.
Overall its a great service and recommend using it.
Don't use this company. We signed a contract with Southern Siding & Window Company back in December to change our windows and gutters. The measurement was done in the first week of January. Although I left 2 messages last week, inquiring when they will come back for the installation, I have not heard back from anyone. It is February 13 today. We were told that the whole process takes 3 weeks, Ours has been 8 weeks and it seems that it will be quite longer, We are going to try to cancel our contract with Southern Siding.
I requested help with a tree removal from my yard at 11 am. Within an hour or 2 I had options of contractors to check out. By 3 pm, there was a contractor on my porch to look at the site and give a quote. By 9:30 pm the tree was removed. You can't ask for more efficient service than that! The original survey of what job I needed done was easy to answer and be matched with qualified contractors.
Outstanding, repaired deck railing and post. Replaced boards, completely repainted area and did exactly what was contracted for and in addition provided angles to increase stability of desk post. Completed the job on expected time and charges were exactly what the estimate had been. Mike was thorough, made sure that I saw what was being done. Strongly recommend.
I would not recommend any businesses to use HomeAdvisorPro. When I first signed up I was told by someone from advisor that you did not pay for leads until the job was completed. After about two weeks I had a charge of $1600 out of nowhere. I talked to customer service and they said that there was nothing they can do since I already had the lead information. So we decided to pause all leads and anything that would charge. A week later and I get charged another $300 for leads that I never received.

I went online and set up a cleaning with home advisor, put in my card information and received a message that my transaction did not go through and to contact them. I did so three times since their line kept "disconnecting". I was told that my information was not in the system. At that point, I had no interest in using them and went to seek other providers. Then low and behold money from home advisors comes out of my account. I call back. I'm actually on hold as I type this (15 minutes and counting). They can't find "my account". I'm told that they are very busy and a supervisor is not available--at least that is what I gather from what appears to be some language barriers. Moving is stressful and busy. Home advisors took time away (taking away) from me doing my work and scheduling other appointments. Unless you have time and money to waste go another route. Still on hold btw...
Using the HomeAdvisor is such an easy activity. User friendly questionnaire to asses your work and offer you pros in your area. May be they need to contract more pros offering the services with an estimate rate on per hour basis.
Started on Saturday morning ripped old roof off put plywood done and fixed a couple trouble spots [old house] they worked pretty fast and there one guy picking up all there trash and yard was clean up nice roof looks great
I needed to replace my range hood and scheduled an appointment with them. Due to some special requirements (fitting a 6 inch into the existing 8 inch vent) I wanted to make sure I buy the correct reducer, so I asked them to have the contractor call me. After 2 days of calls (and refusal to transfer me to a supervisor) I cancelled the appointment. As a note there seems to be only ONE person answering the phone, the same female voice with a Chinese accent, which I found very strange. She claimed she had not spoken to me before. I already hired a local contractor who is also charging me less.
I phoned for an estimate to have a bathroom faucet installed. I had purchased all the necessary parts and removed the old faucet. I was supposed to receive 3 estimates but only 2 called back. I felt like it should be a $100 job. Both of them came in at over $300 so called a local plumber who quoted $125, so guess who got the job.
Guys showed up on time, did great work, installed a quality egress window and cleaned up all debris as if they were never there. I would highly recommended them to anyone looking to install an Egress window in a basement area.
Why on earth would anyone contact someone via the internet for a contractor when
They could conceivably use the same apparatus to search for the same on their own?
As a former contractor under HomeAdvisor I can tell you we were never asked questions regarding our business, past or present. So forget the idea that your dealing with a reputable contractor and the service you think your getting for free is not free at all. The charges are made to the contractor who in turn charges you the additional amount on you final bill. Trust me this is not the way to find the help you need or to expand your client base as a contractor.
Home Advisor is a Total Scam! Read their Terms and Conditions and you too can see how they get away with this scam. Forced payment on my credit card for services not even set up for. Charged for leads I never asked for. Then if you dare try to put a stop to all the nonsense, prepare to spend hours on the phone getting the runaround. Had to cancel my credit card to put an end to the abusive and fraudulent charges. They think that they can do whatever they want with total impunity!
When looking for a professional landscaper, I was matched with a local business. Meeting up for the estimate worked out perfectly. My job was scheduled within less 1 week. Completion happened within a more than reasonable time frame of 1.5 days.
