This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
I only started a request through HomeAdvisor, but didn't finish it because I changed my mind. Still, I was inundated daily with calls from HomeAdvisor following up and trying to get me to purchase a service. While the response was immediate, I didn't want it as I declined to complete my request. Nevertheless, a lovely man got my number somehow, called and we scheduled the job for the very next day. It was worth the hassle to have received that contact, but the aggressive follow-up is a bit of a turn off. I will definitely think twice before I put a request through HomeAdvisor again.
I was on Home Advisor for 2 years as a contractor. The price for their leads is a rip off. WAY over priced. I did get a few jobs on there which is why I gave 2 stars, but their customer service is shady too. When I cancelled they left me on part of it so they could still milk money out of me and I had to call back to cancel AGAIN and explain to them by "cancel" I want to be done and off their site. They finally got it and I am now done with their overpriced shady business practices.
Tip for consumers:
If you are a contractor it’s not worth the money. It’s a rip off.

Service, not products.
There is nothing fast and easy about HomeAdvisor. I solicited their "advice" on a small job. What did I receive in return? Constant pitches for bigger projects. They never gave me a single quote on my small job requiring a "low wattage" repair person.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t waste your time on Home Advisor.

I was offered nothing. That’s the problem.
Hired twice for gutters. Also wanted several estimates for other projects. The work I got done has fallen apart 1 month later. I spent nearly $700 on a gutter that has fallen off. The estimates I wanted done didn't pan out because the guys never showed to quote the job. I'm done with home advisor.
I felt that getting set up with a professional was confusing and perhaps competitive. We had about a 4-Hour job, and three professionals did not show up at the time initially arranged. However, I was happy that one other professional called and ask if he could come early. So all is well that ends well, perhaps. I didn't like the estimate online or committing to a price online unless it's a very routine job.
Sent in my request for a tree company to cut some dangerous trees in our RV park. Greenleaf Tree Service responded in less than 15 minutes. He gave me a quote and a time, and after other quotes they were the best. Thank you
We had an excellent experience with Dave and Dan. They returned all of our phone calls and e-mails promptly. After we hired them, they finished the job quickly. The work was done right and it looks great. Thanks to Home Advisor for recommending them.
Don't even pay attention to Home Advisor. Just trash it. I had 2 contractors come in through Home Advisors. They are awful. They are useless. That is being generous. I wish I can give them minus 10 but the scale does not allow it.
Place an open ended quote for concrete removal. Received a quote and thought I'd wait because it was expensive. Home Advisor called me and stated that a company was interested in quoting my project. That company called no less than two minutes later. They came over the same day! The job they did was incredible! If Home Advisor did not call me I never would have followed up and the project would be unfinished. Thank you!
I literally signed up with home adviser about two weeks ago for a $100. A month deal and please guys! Check everything and I mean EVERYTHING! Before you agree to anything with these crooks because I got charged $435. For speaking to 2 POSSIBLE LEADS!?. That does not make sense guys. You can pay less for advertising and get better results. I tried getting my money back at the end but had no luck. I talked to 2 possible leads or clients, spent $535. All together and didn't make a cent. I really hope you learn from my mistake.
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT ENROLL WITH HOME ADVISOR!
After placing our hauling job on various sites and not getting a confirmation from anyone, I was contacted by Home Advisor, who called me about something else we had posted. They were more than happy to assist with the hauling job we did not post on their site originally. I was then called by the local hauling service in under an hour and our hauling job was arranged and completed the following morning--on a Saturday! The hauling company that was chosen was awesome, very professional and easy to work with.
My disappointment with HomeAdvisor is not seeing who the contractors may be until after you submit the request. They recommend some local contractors I would NEVER use due to past poor experiences. I would prefer to see who is on the 'short list'. Other websites also show these poor contractors have good ratings but like I said personal experience. I have had multiple 'no response' from contractors that were provided. Good thing is I have had follow up from HomeAdvisor to get other quotes/contractors for projects.
After a worrisome early morning with kitchen sinks backed up, I called Atomic Plumbing and spoke with a gentleman named Bill. He was most kind and patient with a frantic homeowner, in a mess, and assured me he would have someone here between 11:30 and 12:30. After our conversation, he made a call to one of his workers and within 1/2 hour, the plumber was here and at work in my kitchen and bath. Price was reasonable for the time put in. I will recommend them to my HOA and friends.
I was overwhelmed with emails and phone calls from Home Advisor. I also received a VERY odd call shortly after posting my job. The woman identified herself as calling from HA but the caller ID said something about a marketing firm. She asked me all sorts of questions that I'd already answered in the HA post. It made me feel like it was a scam so I ended the call.
I guess I didn't stop to think about how HA makes money. I don't like that contractors are charged a lot for the leads they get - especially for small jobs. This cost is of course passed onto the consumer. I'd rather pay a small fee for the HA service like the original business model of Angie's List. I likely won't be using HA again.
I received a call from a rep after submitting a request for a handyman. I described my project - extend my fireplace brick to the ceiling - approx. 18 sq. Feet of brick to be laid. They gave me a price and scheduled a provider for 4 days hence (a Monday). The guy was a no show. I called, they re-scheduled with another provider for the following Friday. They send a link to communicate with the provider 24 hours prior to the time of your appointment. I texted, no response. The guy does show up, but when I show him the project, he tells me he has never laid brick before. Nice enough guy, just not qualified for the job.
I am unclear as to what process they use to send a provider given that I already provided them the scope of work.
When I called and spoke to customer service, they offered to reschedule again or refund my purchase. When I asked if they could assure me that the provider would be qualified to do the work, they said no.? I went for the refund.
Would not use again.
Didn't know from the add it was through Home Advisor. I had a close friend have a bad experience with them that included criminal and civil law suits. However, hiring Scott's Landscaping through them was the best experience we have had since we moved to Sebastian. We have had a pool built, a bathroom upgrade and sod in our back yard and all three were horrible experiences and I found them on my own. Just do
Your research.
Do not use their service. The call logging system they require you to use lags extremely bad. The number of fake leads is unacceptable. They make it almost impossible to cancel and we are forced to get a lawyer involved.
Excellent experience! This is a family-owned business and I like working with companies like this. They called me right away, came to my house for measurements, and returned 2 days later to install the blinds. I could not be happier.
I chose them because I trust them.
I got my first and only call back within 5 minutes of filling out my information. They came out the following day for an estimate. Two days later they did the job. I'll definitely recommend Home Advisor whenever I can.
Between the yearly fee, the bad leads and the poor quality leads you end up paying them more than you make using their service. They are useless parasites that monopolize web traffic that would have gone directly to your company.
I was looking for someone to paint the ceiling and walls in a bedroom. I requested recommendations from my Home Advisor and received names immediately. I was contacted by L&M painting & Odd Jobs within a short period of time.
I was very pleased with the way that Justin completed my project, very professional, he listened as well as gave good feedback making sure my project looked great when finished. I absolutely recommend hiring for quality at a reasonable price.
The website was very good. When I had an issue with the site someone called me to check on me to help me. Your contractors came out right away all were very professional definitely would use it again thank you
DO not use Home Advisor they will steal your money and send you leads that cost 60 bucks that are not even for what you do as a company then when you try to cancel they say ok and just turn your account back on and keep charging you for leads you never get. Then when you call they tell you they don't offer refunds they will credit my account for future leads. All this talking to 3 different people and a supervisor Don that refused to give his last name that would not let me talk to his boss and said that take 4 days for him to return a call. Seriously all over 118 dollars. BEWARE. Then after being on the phone for 45 min with a DON he changes his tone and states that he will submit my refund however it takes 7 days for them to either approve or deny. So with saying this who knows if it is taken care of. BEWARE and spend your hard earned money somewhere else with customer service like this who needs it
I found Home Advisor to be an excellent source for anyone seeking professional contractors to work on their home projects. They will contact the contractors for you and shortly thereafter you will receive a phone call from several perspective candidates. This aspect of their service is very helpful. You have the option of negotiating your price with the contractor or hire through Home Advisor at a discounted price for a nominal annual fee as a subscriber. Great job Home Advisor!
