This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
I have been wanting to get some estimates on getting a bathroom expanded. I have been an Angie's list subscriber for over ten years. I filled out the form to get some estimates and than the emails and phone calls started. I had 24 phone call in one afternoon. Many of the providers calling me only did shower replacements. When I told them what I wanted done they told me they didn't do it and HomeAdvisor just sent out a form that said, bathroom work. Two weeks later and I am still getting call and emails! I assume HomeAdvisor sold my info. Using old Angie's list, I could pick and choose who I wanted to call. This new system is a waste of everyone's time and energy.
I had a mold problem in my bathroom and had to have it gutted. Afterwards, I contacted HomeAdvisor for someone to install a new bathtub. In speaking to the customer service person, I was very clear about what needed done and they set up an appointment for me for the next week at what seemed like a good price. What they did was send one guy who had no idea he was to install a bathtub, he thought he was just doing some plumbing. He left, because obviously the job was a two person one. Upon calling HomeAdvisor afterwards, they were not helpful at all. All they did was give me a phone number of someone that MIGHT be able to help me. No apologies or anything. Really terrible experience so far.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you know what you are getting from HomeAdvisor, before they end up wasting everyone's valuable time.
Too many things to fill out
I do like some of the professional suggestions.
I do like how quickly people get back to consumer.
I don't appreciate the new "packages" for membership.
This service has gotten very complex and makes the consumer feel like if one is not paying a membership then we are not getting your best recommendations. It is beginning to feel like a member's only club instead of what it originally was - a place to connect people to small businesses and to support the community.
Less than a minute after I posted the project, 2 companies were recommended. A-1 Plus Electrical was the first to call me. We quickly agreed to do business.
That day and even the next two days I was still being contacted by electrical contractors seeking to help me with my project. I don't know how to tell Home Advisor the job was already filled.
The first 4 quotes I requested were fine. Afterwards a person from HomeAdvisor called and asked if I'd like additional quotes. I said NO. The person on the phone acknowledged what I said and told me to check back if I needed more quotes. As soon as I hung up, my phone started ringing off the hook with more companies wanting to give me a quote. One of them told me that they pay Angie's $200 for every lead. It makes sense why these places are so aggressive and keep calling and calling.
It took time to take care of this project because we went from handyman to plumber some were to far from them to drive for such small job so I stuck with handyman and home advisor kept checking in with me to see how things turned out if I found any yet so they were great.
Went online to research companies to do a gutter install. As soon as I was finished inputting my information I received inquiries from some companies selected by HomeAdvisor. They all immediately came out to make bids. I selected one of them (Premier Roofing Services) due to their low cost and professionalism. They did a great job.
Estimate and work completed same day, I got exactly what I asked for, multiple power outlets dropped in the shop work area on various walls, plus new overhead lighting, I can use the whole space now and run all my equipment, no more extension cords.
They did not quit until the job was complete, no payment until it was done and I was happy. Will use them for all my electrical needs in the future.
Many thanks to all at TCM construction of somers point nj. They really do great work at great prices. Todd has a great crew working with him. Polite, professionals they came up with some great ideas for getting our kitchen back and went out of their way to help us
After signing up I got 5 leads. Three had incorrect phone numbers and one was just a guy who was curious how much a fence so I cancelled my account. the other one said he made a mistake. After i contacted HomeAdvisor to credit me they said that they will. I then received a bill and they did not end up giving me the credit. I spoke to a guy Brad and he was nasty. All he said was I'm Sorry all I can do is take payment from you. I asked him why am I being charged if the customer does not answer or if the phone number provided is a non working number. He responded that I should keep trying even for a years time. That was a very unprofessional way of dealing with such sarcasm. Please do not sign up with them. They will not help you with any issues regarding leads.
My flowerbeds The freezer before last did a lot of damage to our shrubbery around the front inside of our home. We had dug them up but had not replaced them yet. I have been waiting for spring before I Decided to have the work done. One was great polite kept me posted on everything and explained exactly what was going to happen. Their work was completed in about one day and beautiful. The work was professionally done and I am very pleased
I tried this site in hopes of finding several companies to install new windows for me. However, after answering all the questions, only one company was found for me. A company I already knew about and was planning to get quotes from anyway. This was a waste of time and now I keep getting text messages and emails that are more of a bother than anything. I'll need to spend time getting those alerts cancelled.
Greg Andrews of Starlight Maintenance in Cedar Rapids, IA did window washing inside and out and they just sparkle. He also power washed my house and did a spectacular job. He got rid of mold and mildew on my gutters which were not a guaranteed success, but they are spotless. He, his wife and daughter were courteous, neat and friendly and I am extremely happy with the job he did and would highly recommend them.
Its isn't free contractors pay for the leads and most of them are bad. The people either don't answer or they got so many bids already you won't get the job. Literally most of my leads they don't even answer the phone. I call multiple times on multiple days I email and text it's a scam. See the pix the last 5 leads only one answered and I gave an estimate but was under bid
This is a really bad company! I was with them for just 2 weeks (03/19/2020-04/02/2020) and quickly found out that all of the leads I received from them were wrong! The first lead was mislabeled, the second lead was bogus (not a legitimate call back number), the third lead was fake. I feel bad writing bad reviews, but WOW! This is robbery. I do not recommend HomeAdvisor to anyone, contractor or homeowner. See attached photo of a "lead" that I got. Stinking outrageous!
Josh Wilson went above and beyond to help me. The first doorbell I ordered did not work and Mr. Wilson called the company and explained to them what the problem was. They sent me a new one immediately. Mr. Wilson and Stillwater employees kept me informed of everything. Mr. Wilson was always here on time, worked hard and stayed till the job was completed to my satisfaction. I am very pleased with Mr. Wilson and Stillwater Contracting. It is for sure I will be keeping their contact information for future needs and I highly recommend Stillwater Contracting for all your needs. Thank you so much. With great appreciation, Stella Owen
I went on HomeAdvisor website twice for two different searches. I found none of the referrals adequate, but to add salt to the wound, I am now pestered everyday, even Sundays at 7:30 am with solicitation calls. I plead with them to stop but they do not. I have used up all 12 of my "do not call" options to block some calls. Still it is not enough. Do NOT trust this website to respect your privacy.
Tip for consumers:
Do your own research with family and friends to find a reputable firm.
I think home advisor should have some kind of screening process in place for who they give work to. I had an awful experience with a woman name Teresa Williams and her workers doing half a** work. Her whole crew look like a bunch drug using criminals that I would've never hired if I had to go and do the hiring myself which is why I turned to home advisors in the first place. Maybe its a fluke that I got the crew I did for my project but regardless I don't think I will be using home advisor in the future.
HA did not provide leads from us and then did not refund money for absolutely no business generated. This is a dishonest company that is just interested businesses hey so I have a fee and then they scam lead fees. It would have taken several new pieces of business to pay for the
Home in visor emptied my prepaid credit card account without my authorization and will not return the money. When call to request the money back and they said tough luck pretty much. I talk to person after person even threatened to go to the Better Business Bureau everyone's attitude was there is not a magic button to fix this that I would have to be more careful in the future. I would stay clear from home and visor they are thieves.
Over the holiday break, I engaged HomeAdvisor to refer businesses for my project. I did not immediately hear back- hence the 4 star review. They did finally reach out and call to check up. I had mentioned no one reached out and they ended up connecting 2 companies with me via email. A
There customer service does very little to help their pros. All they care about is there money! You would think a company ranked at the bottom of peoples satisfaction list would do something about it, but the issue that they will not do anything and just bill you for not doing their jobs.
Thank you Home Advisor for your recommendation for Sunnyside Painting. This is the second time I have hired them to complete a job. They came in and stained and sealed our new deck. I cannot express what a wonderful job they did. It looks amazing. They only use quality materials but do extremely quality job. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. They are awesome!
I've trying to get contractors to reside my house and install new construction windows I've spoke with 12 to 14 contractors they come out talk a big game take measurements and I never hear from them again why don't they just tell me they don't want the job. Home Advisor is fine it's just the contractors that suck
HomeAdvisor is a deadbeat company whose members are deadbeat contractors. I'm not sure what the point is, or is supposed to be, but as other reviewers have pointed out here, they set you up for contractors to meet with you, and the contractors simply never show up. You can get the exact same result by putting an ad on Craigslist for the work you need done!
