This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
I tried to get a Drywall contractor using this site.
They send me a "contractor" who gave me the lowest price of all the ones who bid from other sites. Because, i speak Spanish language. I was able to get more information than the regular american Homeowner can get. Results/ The guy is not even legal in the USA.!
What it will happen if the guy decides to get my down payment and disappears? It is completely ridiculous that this happens in the USA. It should be a state regulation over these kind of online businesses. No wonder they want that you get the County's Construction permit. Be aware! Referral from Home Advisor doesn't mean that you are legally protected.
Home advisor is terrible for getting work done in your home. They send unqualified technicians that cause more problems than you originally started with. I called them to have electrical outlets changed from vertical to horizontal in order to flow with my backsplash. When the "Pro" finished, I had a wall full of putty, the outlet boxes were dangling, and the wiring created a short.
I had to pay another contractor to tear out my wall, fix the outlets and replace my drywall. It was an insane, costly experience. Don't trust them. Fingers crossed there is a class action lawsuit that comes around and puts them out of business.
I received several potential contacts within just a few moments. What would have been for me a monumental, back-breaking project, was 15 minutes' work for someone with the right equipment and knowledge. I couldn't be happier.
I decided to try and drum up some business with these guys. Should've known better when the place calls you it's never good. After throwing out almost $350 they sent me a huge number of so called leads. In three weeks and hundreds of dollars I managed to get it to where I didn't get charged only because I said I would give it another shot but never reauthorized my credit card. Of course they went ahead and started charging my card fraudulently for services not provided. Thank god for good credit card companies. I got out with only my $350 out. Run! Don't walk, run from this phone call!
As you can tell by reviews don't do business here they scam you misinform you to set you up to where you get double charged and half the customers never respond! In 2 weeks I was charged $900! They won't help they won't budge they just keep saying oh policy oh we can't do that blah blah not friendly customer service stay clear! I'm a new business and they straight bent me over and raped me with a smile. Not sure how this place is in business deal with yelp or thumbtack but to be honest all lead sites are bogus. Be honest be kind care about your customers and get business from word of mouth!
This time I was looking for guttering. My job wasn't real big and I had trouble finding someone on HomeAdvisor. About five days later I got a call from an employee of HA who asked how it was going and offered some help. I hate these calls and have no patience. For some reason I talked to the guy and he started to sound helpful. We talked awhile and I explained my frustration and the issue with the small size job not appealing to contractors. He offered to search in my area for other contractors and soon sent me three contact names and info. I had two guys come out and they were both competent and communicated well. I made my decision and am so pleased overall. Without the direct call from the Home Advisor support person I'd still be floundering.
I found someone in Chelsea Al for yard work. He did the work but not very professionally. I must have gotten 5-6 phone calls from home advisor questioning me before the person even showed up. I couldn't get them to stop so I quit answering their calls and it finally ended.
I got matched with a highly qualified professional. I would suggest that when choices are given of what you need there should be a "write in option".
Enough times the project i have is not
Iisted (as well in requests for reviews).
Otherwise a very good experience
Once I spoke with the lady (wish I could remember her name, she was great) that called back to see how my projects were going, things started to happen. My initial conversation with someone from Peru was confusing and I just gave up. The second lady got me to the professionals I needed. She listened to me and asked questions until she knew what I was looking for. I booked both professionals and was extremely happy with their work.
Home advisor is a good source, but leaves a lot to be desired. I have been sent additional companies via text that do not show on my account so I was unable to review them and had to Google them to get contact info. I had requested services and received calls over a month later from companies that just received the info regarding my job.
Got a call from a home advisor "handyman" that promised he was the one to do all of the little household job's I couldn't,, he came, he looked, he was conquered! Either he didn't know how to sand and paint, or replace rollers on my patio door (which I'm sure is the case) or he felt it beneath him said it would take him a few days to work up an estimate LOL to replace smoke alarm batteries replace flood lights and my 2 doors. It's been 3 weeks now and thank God he never called back!
I would not under any circumstances do any business with this company, they will eat you up in lead fees and when you get bad leads they will refund you 2 leads a month and nothing more, you will be nickeled and dimed to death by them save yourself the headache and go with someone different that doesn't charge per lead. They also sell that same lead to anywhere from 4-5 other contractors as well
HomeAdviser did their job and sent out leads right away with two businesses responding right away. One of the bidding companies who gave an estimate immediately charged $135.00 fee and called it an inspection. Invoice reminders were coming each day before having time to get estimates from other companies. I ultimately declined to use this company, as I felt the fee for the estimate was more important then landing the customer.
He arrived on time. We walked to back of yard. Looking under deck. Then walk to other side of deck. He found dead cat within 15 minutes.
He asked if I wanted him buried. I said yes. Dug a large hole, put cat in plastic bag in hole, covered him. RIP Big Fluff.
Extremely upset with homeadvisor. Over a short period of only a few months they have taken hundreds of dollars from our company with little to no return. When talking to customer service they promise refunds and to help but never deliver. We were promised a refund multiple times but after the phone call they never sent it. When I refuse to get off the phone until receiving a refund they just continue to transfer me to all sorts of people and when I still didn't hang up they tell me I was lied to by their employee and they can't help me. If I were to do that to a customer I would be put on blast in reviews and they would demand their money back until they get their refund. Never work with this company
Boston based GC. Paid approx 300 set up fee for leads in my area only. In my ******* zip code to be exact. Then started getting leads to renovated home thousands - yes thousands of miles away in California or Maine. Called to say this is not what Ithey told me when I signed up, said they would credit my account but they didn't so I ignored the request for payments. Then they said it was inactive and that I would need to pay another 300 to reactivate it. I literally got nothing from this service. It is awful. They lie to you in the set up conversation and then play dumb when u call them out on it.
Charged me bunch of money from day one. Canceled service. Then they sent to collectors to get $300 but collection agency started to ask $900. Don't do business with them. All those guys work on commissions and want to change you as much as they can.
This company is will troll you 24/7 until you threaten to call the states attorney on them. The "leads" are about 10% of the time an actual lead. MOST of the leads are people whom have no money to even begin the project they are requesting pricing for. One of my leads was unhappy tenants looking for pricing for maintenance on the building they lived in to take their landlord to court. The HA employees will relentlessly call and abuse you on the phone, offering free leads and then sending them while their accounting department charges for your "free" leads.
Thieves! Last month spent $2880. 00 on 16 leads which we tried calling to get credits. We had people calling for storm damage who already knew which contractor they wanted they just needed additional quotes for insurance. We have also had false leads that say they need 10+ windows when they only needed 2, also TONS of no call backs or cancellations. Previously was told we could get credits after they "investigate" now the person is saying no credits because we cancelled our account this week after spending OVER $10,000.00 (!) in the last 6 months. Reported to BBB! This place needs to get SHUT DOWN!
I must've received 30 calls on the first day no one left a voicemail very dissatisfied with that when I asked one company to remove my number he hung up on me. I will never use home advisor or Angie again
I used Home advisor to recommend a Land scraper and a pool maintenance company. Both times I was met with people who were unprofessional and provided sloppy work. The pool man did not show up when he said he would and did not return calls. Work was left incomplete and safety was an issue. The pool man even threw cigarette butts on the lawn. Never again! I will never use anyone recommended by Home Advisor.
This company started off as a reliable and affordable lead sourcing program. They began "harvesting" forms from various sites, including AngiesList (which they have now bought). Just because someone "searches" a directory, does not mean they wish to be matched immediately.
They used to charge a reasonable price... and they used to match you with people that were REALLY seeking a lead. They were clearly told "Would you like to be connected with pros in your area?".
They charge 3 or more "pros" over $50 per lead... even when the service itself only generates $50 for the contractor IF they win the bid.
We'd been trying to paint the inside of our condo for years. I signed onto Home Advisor just to browse for painters, but it was just so easy to find a painter with good reviews, get a quote, and put things in motion, that we now have our condo finally all painted. Such a great process - thank you!
I don't know why I'm bothering writing this, there is no validity at all to any of these reviews. What does this prove I know how to click a box? All the negativity seems so far off my experience I find it hard to comprehend these reviews, it truly seems like some people just like to see the world burn. Well just to highlight my experience I land about 3 out of ten of all the leads I get for fences and there usually about 50 a pop. So I can promise you this when the 3 jobs turn into 10 to 15 grand I really could care less about the 500 bucks it cost me. It keeps me busy throughout the year and if it's so hard for you to call a potential customer back then it may not be for you I guess.
Service Providers Beware. Home Advisor will charge you $50-$100 (or more depending on your location) for the name and "phone number" of a potential lead even if you contact the lead on several occasions and they never return your phone call. In the beginning you are led to believe you can request a credit for these leads, however you later find out that unreturned calls/messages and/or a homeowner deciding that they don't want to do the project are not reasons for a refund. This is a major scam and I would highly advise any designers, engineers, architects, contractors, etc. avoid using this service. If you are looking for a good service to use I would highly recommend Houzz.
