This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
I have not use home advisor before. I was concerned there would be a fee involved and usually use word of mouth to find contractors. I was called promptly by the contractor, he came out and gave me a quote within a few days and got the job done quickly and professionally.
Don't waster your money with them, they will rip you off no matter what.
They'll sell you information of people that will never pick up their phone, nor will never respond to your email, that means that whatever home advisor charged your credit card for a potentially new client means that you'll never get that in return.
It's a SCAM!
I spent more then $10k with those liars and got almost nothing in return, when you call their customer service they'll just tell you that they going to investigate about that person that won't pick up the phone, and then you'll get an email saying that you're ineligible for credit, to make a long story short it's bull$#*!
It cost me 350 dollars just to be on the site, another 25 per lead(80%) were fake and you can't argue with them on this or they send you to collections for not paying them. In my 3 months of trying them out I put my leads on hold 3 times just so I wouldn't be charged outrageous fees for nonexistent clients. In my experience they are a shady company with terrible customer service. If I could I would rate them negative stars.
HomeAdvisor recently sent me an email thanking me for my Carpet Install Service Request, upon opening the email it was clearly clickbait to get me to visit their website and create an account. It's an American company that appears to have stumbled on a grand list of emails and is likely sending them out to everyone. I unsubscribed and was told it would take up to 10 days to remove me from the mailing list.
Very low class and unprofessional marketing.
In the year that I have had an account with Home Advisor they have provided 19 leads (my account had leads shut off for about 8 months of the year). Of those 19 leads only 6 of them were ready to proceed with the work, or 31.6%. My company has paid Home Advisor over $1,500 in a year to get leads that were less than one third qualified. We are a small company and cannot afford to pay an average of almost $85 per lead, of which only one third are viable.
Hooked us up with great people. Even Raspberry building was nice, they just couldn't get their supplier to cooperate. However I cannot change their review. Overall they failed by having a poor supplier.
Got a list of pros from home advisor. Called and got bids from several of them. It was good that I checked with all of them and got others later. Some said my job was too small. Prices were all over the place. Install dated also varied from weeks to right away.
Russell & Ashanti, Stroudsburg Overhead Doors, promptly responded to my call. They were extremely professional, knowledgeable and pleasant. The problem was diagnosed in minutes and promptly fixed. I highly recommend this company and it will be my "go to" company in the future for any garage door/opener issues. Thank you Home Advisor for sending me the best!
I contacted Absolute Hardscapes thru Home Advisor because of pot holes and cracks in my rather long driveway. They did excellent work, showed up when expected and did a professional job of renewing the driveway. Would definitely recommend.
Home advisor boasts that they have top rated pros. That is a lie! They have known con men utilizing their service to steal from more people. Customers trust Home Advisor because of the ads they run, but they should be warned that after a contractor pays money to join and keeps paying money, they don't care. They don't file through with issuing refunds for bad eads and they certainly don't care who is in their website. I wonder if they even do a background checks. What a rip off for contractors andwhat a fraud for consumers. Beware.
One phone call that's all it took for Jeremy, owner of Brightside Restoration to fix my problem. Honest, fair and just an all around nice young man. You couldn't find a more honest and fair person to HELP solve your problems. I have to give this company a 5 start rating. Great company to do business with...
This contractor had failed to complete the services for the agreed price. Took full agreed price with the promise he will come and finish the rest. Never showed up despite several reminders. Very dis honesty and deceitfull business practices and I would remove or discourage to include such contractors in your advisor list of recommended sub contractors.
Tip for consumers:
Never pay in full unless the job is fully completed

We went on for a quote for someone to look at work needed for our house. 20 min later a company just shows up demanding money without us even knowing who they were or what they were going to charge. No email beforehand with up to 4 options for contractors, no bids or contracts... nothing. Everything that is stated on their website is a complete lie. Their customer service was horrific and when we asked to be transferred to corporate to put in a compliant we were disconnected. Do not even go on their website! This company is scamming it's customers.
I had been looking for someone to do a stucco repair on my house. I had 2 areas that had bubbled away from the wall and were delaminating. Two local guys that were recommended looked at the project and did not want to get involved. I ended up completing a request through home advisor and within one hour I received the first call. This pro knew his business and took care of me within 2 days.
Bill and his crew were great to work with. They made the process simple for me.
They Had to put in a lot of extra work because my floors were in such bad condition. What they initially thought would take a day and a half ending up being two complete days because of all the extra sanding that needed to be done. Bill did not ask for any additional money. He stuck with his original quote.
I couldn't say enough about him and his guys.
I'm extremely disappointment is Home Advisor overall. We signed up several months ago because their sales representative said they made changes and are so much better now. He promised a lot of things that sounded good. They have totally let us done, we called them a over a month ago and asked them to stop our account until they could deliver on the promises the representative sold us on. They continued to charge us for leads we didn't take. We finally had enough and canceled you today. We feel they are a totally unethical company. If we could have given them less stars we would have. We gave them every opportunity to make this right with us and they just kept our money and it seems their people just read the same script and don't give a damn!
Tell all your fellow contractors to stop using them, if we band together maybe this will force them to change the way they treat contractors
Homeadvisor sounds great and they generate plenty of "leads". What they don't tell you is every time you get a "lead" via email or phone call you are getting charged whether you open or answer the phone. You will receive anywhere from 2 to 10 phone calls a day or emails. There is no bill sent out until right before they send you to collections.
More than half the time the "leads" aren't leads they are just random people who had some how had their info given to homeadvisor through a third party.
They will send hundreds of fake leeds regardless just to rack up as much money to charge every month. Even after countless times of asking them to cancel my account because of surgery I was going through they begged me to stay with them lying to me that I wouldn't be charged anymore. Guess what a hefty bill came in.
I joined Angi on line and started the process of seeking professionals for a tree job and a rather complex outdoor plumbing replacement. Angi responded immediately with just enough info to get me going with the contacting of pros. I liked the ability to see the Pro's ratings and had access to contact them directly rather than thru an annoying service line. Advisors followed up with calls and emails to add additional info and see if they could help if I was having trouble. All around a well thought-out website and interfacing experience. Much better than your competitors.
My company used to provide their call center services and I would deal with the horror of angry callers not being kept in the loop, charging but not having someone arrive, and of course the call center itself you cannot get through to anyone other than an agent. The only good thing that came out of my using them was finding my amazing cleaning crew. However, they did the usual... poor call center service, they couldn't get me the details of my cleaning service after 3 fails. AWFUL experience.
Angi's quickly put me in contact with a local business for my project needs. I've been working with them on a few projects and feel like they not only do a great job managing projects but also keeping pricing honest given some quotes I've sought out on my own recently.
I tried HomeAdvisor and noticed we were incompatible.
According to HomeAdvisor's Return Policy you have 72 hours to change your mind. It been three months since asking for my refund, and HomeAdvisor is still sending me leads outside of my service area. Not one of my leads have been inside my service area.
1. The website platform is very difficult to navigate (I looked for almost an hour trying to change my service area before I found out you have to call HomeAdvisor during regular working hours to change my service area). When I signed up, I was completely clear about my service area.
2. You have no control over your service area.
3. They charge you for leads you do not get.
4. They send you leads from service areas outside your service area.
5. They promise much but delivers nothing.
Complete waste of time and money.
I signed up for Home Advisor in January and I have spent approximately $800 with them and didn't get a legitimate lead. It's throwing money down the toilet. I also have called them 3 times for billing errors. They charge you for leads that are not even in your industry you are working. They sneak in other charges and if you don't catch them then you end up paying for charges and fees that don't even belong on your bill. Billing fraud. How do the employees sleep at night knowing they are ripping off good companies that are just trying to help their businesses grow.
RIPOFF!
As long-time member, I went thru Angi to book some yard work. I was waiting for the chosen company to get back to me, when I get call call from "HomeAdvisor Powered by Angi." The guy wanted to book the appointment. It was weird that he asked me to estimate the number of bushes and average height, sight unseen. Also odd I had to book two separate professionals, with details about who they even were to come in an email, with two different credit card payments. A couple of hours later, I get a call from the real company I had originally picked off Angi wanting to come and do a site survey. They were NOT the pros the caller booked. I had to tell the company that HA/Angi has just taken their work from them. Someone did show up and did a mediocre job, but I'm still taken aback by these shoddy business practices and feel foolish for going along. WHAT THE HELL is going on? I don't trust Angi now.
I contracted with Home Advisor to find me a "Professional" to re-grout my shower tile; the guy was at my house for 5 hours, and all I got a horrible mess of smeared grout on all my tiles, walls, tub, soap dish, bathroom floor and down my stairs. The "Pro" told me he would be back the next day to finish the job but never showed even though he rescheduled himself. Now Home Advisor is trying to get me to pay for someone to "fix" the problem their guy created! It's a disaster, I will NEVER use them again!
