This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
A water heater was installed in my house 2 years ago. It stopped working so I contacted this web site. I hired Total Home Services. The service was unexpectedly outstanding. They arrived on time and worked until the system was operating properly.
Pretty good. Got two good estimates, and one who pressured to go quick. The one going quick was $500 more than the others, with the excuse they had a 6-month backlog. But could move project up because it was an emergency. Price would be locked in if you accepted that day. Not good. People know when someone is bull-$#*!ting.
Also forcing you to get the App to read the email correspondence isn't cool for those not so savvy in using Apps. Just give the message in the email too.
I've never really used to advisor because I found that their information to general. They offer a fixed price service for hourly rates with a minimum of two hours but by choosing that you have absolutely no idea what service you're actually getting in detail and yet they want you to pay upfront. So I found that very confusing. I was immediately contacted by one of the suppliers who ended up using however I receive no other contact from any other supplier Which I found very limited in terms of having choices. I had to go out of another comparative suppliers on my own.
I got several referrals for competent tree trim & removal companies. After looking at customer reviews I got about 4 estimates (plus an additional estimate from a contractor I've used in the past). All quotes from Home-Advisor referrals were in the price range I had anticipated, although highest was almost double the lowest. I ended up going with the lowest bidder, and their service was excellent. Based on this, I'd have to say Home Advisor does a good job in vetting the companies they work with.
I think that for the people who are signed up as service providers on your site, it's a wonderful app. It's aggressive in making quick contact with customers. From my point of view though, it was a bit too aggressive. I had barely completed my entry/registration when I began receiving texts and phone calls. I would rather choose who I want to speak to (because their offer is worth following up on) than to have to go through the same conversation with multiple people, most of who don't fit all my needs. I would rather have been able to visit each service provider's site and select the ones who met my needs based on reviews, location and price instead of being bombarded. That would cause me to hesitate to use the app in the future.
I guess I'm getting old... I owned a home in this town for 44 years. And this is by far the worst experience, I've had trying to hire someone for home repair.
Home Advisor did indeed charge my card $377 plus a $19.99 membership. I send them an email complaining about the quality of the overpriced work, asked for my money back and a cancellation of my membership.
They refused... My mistake, I should have at least read these review before calling them.
How does that saying go: "fool me once; shame on you. Fool me twice twice, shame on me"
The guy that did the work was a really nice guy, but out of his league.
I was called by a boy named John and wasted my time again! He lied about everything just to make his commission.in general, i dont know how company like this are still in business. If we hire this type of service (leads) it's because we are looking for some positive results. I was told for this thief that because I'm in busines for almost 2 decades i did not have to dispute jobs with anyone and bla bla bla. Same situation as many of peoples down below. Disappointment again
I was surprised to see so many people having bad reviews of Home Advisor. My husband's electrical business has had so much success because of their service. It is currently the only place we spend any money marketing and we have more business that we can handle. I am guessing people's experiences are different based on location, we are out of the San Francisco bay area. We have been very thankful for this service.
The only thing we dislike is getting credit for leads. Sometimes leads come through that we don't feel we should pay for, but they do not qualify for credit. They give credit in many situations (which is great), but we do get stuck with some bogus leads. Oh well, I guess you have to take the good with the bad. Overall the service is well worth it and has made starting up our business very successful.
We also just received our first bad review which was not founded on truth. I'm interested to see how Home Advisor will handle that.
Hi Jill, Thank you for sharing your experience, we're glad to hear of your success and are happy we can be a part of your business! As a contractor I know companies like Home Advisor will try to get us to join their network.
I listened to what they had to offer and we were just not interested.
After that it has been nothing but harassment for over a year.
Every time I update the so called sign up page which I never did which allows contractors to change certain notifications, the agent just goes in and changes it back to what he wants.
I've sent emails replying back stating to remove me from their list permanently but again here come the emails.
Home Advisor needs to take a class in respect and the word NO, NO really does mean NO.
All phone calls didn't answer after numerous attempts to call back and emails, the last customer actually answered me and told me that he posted his request 3 days ago (!) and got more than 20 calls, he literally told me "I know you're paying for that, I'm sorry, I think it's scam"
Complete scam, money squeezing from small business...
Went to the Home Advisor website to get an idea about how much a roof replacement would cost. Was VERY clear about not wanting any contact from contractors at this time. Within ten minutes of leaving their website I had two phone calls and one email! That's three businesses that have my name, address, phone number and email address - exactly what I was trying to avoid. I won't make that mistake again.
I needed some minor roof and gutter repair, plus gutter screens. All of my prior/usual contractors were either too busy or not interested in a small job, so I decided to try HomeAdvisor. They quickly recommended 2 companies that were new to me and relatively new in my area, both of which appeared qualified, with similar pricing. One had slightly better customer reviews, I used tha and am satisfied.
Too stressful of a company to deal with. I was being charged for people who only were looking up prices of technical jobs. I am talking about $60 each lead with no credit back. I lost more than 300 dollars and not benefit back. Don't trust them.
AT&T only does so much to solve their own issues. We had condensation in a coaxial cable because they will not spend the extra time to do installation properly. We were told by the to hire a private contractor. Amazing especially since I have insurance with them!?
As a plumbing Contractor I set monthly budget at $300($30/day) month to try it out. HomeAdvisor charged me $800 for one day! The few leads I went on were not real. One was a gas line quote where they had 4 contractors show which is always a waste of time. After calling back the "customer" never decided. Why? Because there was no customer or project! HomeAdvisor set that up and charged 4 contractors. When you call about the monthly $ limit, it's only after they explain this impossible system of being charged 5 different ways and the $ limit is only 1 way and the others compound on top of it with no $ limits.
They pirate all your existing web traffic and destroy your current online presence.
I don t know how they are getting bye with this it is criminal. This is my second review of this sham company. We are now currently having to redo our entire online seo campaign at substantial cost to us so we can get listed again, our website company told me they have well over ******* complaints against them,
Tip for consumers:
Stay away from home advisor
Do not trust Riley Electric. Never on time and always has an excuse for lateness. Took over 3 weeks from start to finish! I would never consider hiring him to change a light bulb. I should have been forewarned when I saw how disorganized his truck was inside
Truck was ins
After a number of attempts to use this service, I found them no better than 'going it alone' with local contractors. Which is pretty abysmal, to say the least. Professionals (and I use that term loosely) don't show - or disappear - even before a job starts. Don't answer attempts to contact. Or in many cases, HA is unable to produce someone on fairly ordinary jobs, so you're stopped even before yo can begin.
We have used HomeAdvisor for several major and minor home repairs and renovations. In each instance, we get prompt responses from most of the contractors we selected. During the process, a few contractors have fallen by the wayside due to poor follow up, slow response or not being interested in the project. The others gave us fair and reasonable quotes and we were able to select the one that fitted our needs the best. I can honestly say we have been very pleased with each contractor and their work and this has spanned almost five years
Within 45 minutes of filling out the form with my information I had a call from Right Way Tree Service. We made an appointment for the next day. Was given a reasonable price quote, so I scheduled a date for two weeks hence. The job is now compleat, very satisfactory. This Home Advisor wed site was excellent for me.
I cannot say one good thing about Home Advisor as a contractor. Salesman was rude and then it went downhill. Leads are not worth the cost by any stretch of the imagination. Lead costs are were said to be $75 - not so way higher and they are not good leads. Corporate policy takes precedent over ethical practices and natural human courtesies. Stay Away!
Needed lots of repair and installation work done. We were contacted by a repair guy in less than an hour. He provided quality and knowledgeable service. Very professional and friendly. Kept us posted on things and cleaned up after themselves each day!
Just used Black Stallion for the first time and I could not have been more please. Anthony was polite, professional and very conscientious about doing a good job. They gave me a fair price, did a great job and cleaned up everything when done. I would definitely use them again. I am a private homeowner in Port St John.
Only needed list of local Companies (names) for gutter repair project. Contacted next day by HomeAdvisor agent (unexpectedly) with name of Company that expressed interest in my project. Agreed to permit job estimate from same. After deliberating several options over a weeks time, offered job to same Company. Results were excellent.
Many of the referrals I got were solid, and several people gave me estimates. Unfortunately, I was inundated with spam-type calls for "gutter guard" products, even though I did not request that.
Overall a decent experience and I would like to see fewer "commercial" influences for replies.
