Don't use this service. They send you false leads that are not companies. When you call they transfer to every department in the world and no one knows what they are talking about. They say you can request a credit but then your credit request is denied and they only issue in house credits but still continue to send you bogus leads. Don't use them they will only take your money and you don't make any of it back.

I needed to have new front landing with stairs done. I hired a contractor April of 2016 who had done the very same job for a neighbor down the street. He took two thirds of our money and hardly showed up for the whole year. I am now collecting my money back in installments thank goodness. Last month I went on Home Advisor and found a wonderful contractor. I got two estimates and decided to go with Walter Palacio from Palacio General Construction in Lowell, Ma. He and his very nice and polite crew came every day and did a fabulous job. I would not hesitate to call him again and I know I will be in the near future.

As a contractor, your experience with home advisor will appear to be expensive but fair, initially... Then after a few weeks, they will drop all pretense and begin stealing from you at will. You will receive 1 good lead to 7 inaccurate leads with no concern or compensation. It's a shame, because it could be a good service if managed with the slightest bit of decency. My guess is that home advisor contractors are a constantly revolving new group, as they must all quickly recognize the scam and leave. My limited ad budget is better spent elsewhere.

I have been a customer of HomeAdvisor for several years. They do not explain the billing appropriately. Randomized cost per lead with no clear reason or explanation. They refuse to credit charges, when leads are bogus, or information is bad. They overspend your target spend with complete disregard of the businesses requested level (essentially doubled mine this month), and their customer service is of no help. I cannot say whether it is due to incompetence or unwillingness, but either way is not acceptable.

I have used Home Advisor for several home projects. I find the information and contractors they provide very helpful when deciding to do a home improvement project. It saves you time by rating contact information of reliable companies in your area.

The vendors I hired were all top craftsmen. I had tried to locate others but could not get those I wanted so used those recommended by Home Advisor and was pleased with their work. No hassles or problems throughout the job!

They sound great when they first contact you. Their leads are very expensive and fare and few between. If I had to do it over again I would put the money spent into other options. Your best money spent will be staying away from home advisor.

13 leads, only able to talk with 2, last one hung up on me, when I mentioned Homeadvisor. Tried to get credit for account online- Denied.
Called in and talked to multiple departments and explained the situation- Denied credit.

Home advisor stole 395.64 from my Company.

We had a complex set of projects for an old house. I was easily able to find the right company to work with. Home Advisor probably saved me many hours of research and other work. Will absolutely use the service again!

Absolute waste of time and money these are scam artists save your money. I would have been better off having my kids make me posters posting them in the neighborhood I would have got more business from doing that, somebody should shut these people down there ripping people off and then they threaten you with their collection agencies

First time user. Have nothing to compare to. I missed HomeAdvisor's call numerous times. I guess they were trying to find out if I was contacted by the contractors. HomeAdvisor also emailed me with a lot of information on various services.

The worst decision I've made- as soon as I received my contractor's licence they called -with a great intro, wonderful way to build your business. Bla, bla bla... Could have purchased much-needed tools. No refund or credit. No credit or resolution to the problem. Who supports their lousy business. But hey they are making all the money-false leads, no one answers or they were only checking out prices- yet you get charged $25-2$00 dollars per lead- even though its a false lead.

I have only used Angie's list and this was my first time with Home Advisor. Thus, I cannot judge more than my one experience which was pleasantly surprising and overall great. I received a call from a provider next day after my request and they had availability within a week with flexible hours.

I hired Art-Is-Tree to remove three huge trees, their stumps and roots from my front yard. The crew did a fabulous job! Bravo! The work team is made up of professional, ethical, hard working young men who understand the dance of team work. They worked very hard in extremely hot weather, were polite and communicative. Also, they were orderly, neat and cleaned up before leaving. I highly recommend Art-Is-Tree for your tree removal project!

I needed a series of home repairs and went through HomeAdvisor.com and made confirmed appointments via the site. These were all cancelled abruptly, with a form letter-email from the site which did not provide any reasons. I tried calling but the drop down menu does not give an option on this, so I contacted online chat. Extremely rude, did not answer my questions and disconnected. Don't bother with this - go to your local info site like Next-door.com.

If I could give a lower score than 1 I would. I never used Home Advisor or Angie. I do not appreciate my Google search being snagged up by these companies and spreading my phone number, email all over the internet!

I was looking for companies to do a large window installation project. Had to have 21 windows installed. Wanted to shop around and compare prices so that I could receive professional, quality service at an affordable price. Home advisors connected me with several companies that could get the job done. Thankful for this site.

Filled out questionnaire online for work I needed. Was contacted the next day by the company I ended up using, they were phenomenal. My only issue is that now I keep getting calls asking if I found someone to haul away my furniture, who I used, if I have any other projects I need help with. Just make it stop already!

I signed up with Home Advisor over a year ago. Only about 20% of the leads are even worth following up on. They charge for leads from affiliates that customers don't realize are with Home Advisors. Total rip-off. Stay away. Too expensive and if you want to try to get credit, good luck. If you try to call Customer Service, you'll be on hold for at least 20 minutes and more like over 30 minutes, then don't be surprised if you get dropped or cut off for not reason. Then no one calls you back to finish the conversation. You can't talk to a Sr. Rep, only "chat" so it's very impersonal and unprofessional. Again, stay away!

Within 10 minutes after contacting Angie's list, I had about 5 people calling me wanting business. Some were a lil pushy and sketchy. All gave similar estimates. 1 guy came to see and raised his estimate by almost $200! I told him bye. There was one business that seemed trustworthy and he stood by his estimate and did a fantastic job!

J Boris did an excellent job, which he finished in one day. He understood exactly what repairs were needed and quoted me a fair price. I have already shared his business cards with family and friends, as well as sent them a picture of the work he performed for me.

Do not waste your money if you are a contractor. They will scam you out of money with their worthless leads. Every contractor I've talked to has said the same thing, 4/5 leads are worthless. That was my experience too and when you ask for a credit back, you have to fight with their idiotic phone reps. They don't understand anything your business so they come up with these insane prices per lead. For example, for the few legit leads I get, I get charge $30 for a job that nets me $90. Then you are in the tough spot of either bidding the job $30 higher than market rate, potentially losing the job or just eat the lead 30% lead fee. They do not care at all because there's plenty of suckers who will sign up with them.
