This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
What this company does can not be legal.
It maybe good for the homeowner but I think if you talk with any contractor it would be a different story.
They will send out three or more contractors to a home owner and never letting these them know that we are paying crazy amounts of money to these scammers.
They lead them to believe that everything is FREE.
They have literally taken over the Internet so that the small guy has no choice but to go through them. Then we pay anywhere from $75.00- $150.00 and may never even be able to reach anyone.
From what I understand, they are under a class action lawsuit of some kind.
From all the money charged to contractors from deceptive practice, they will be able to pay for skilled and crooked representation.
This could just go on and on, but just go to youtube to see much more about the unscrupulous practices of Home Advisor.
I employed an HVAC man from Home Advisor and he was the worst ever. He charged me too much and didn't fix my AC. I found someone else (recommended by my son) and they did a great job at less than half the price. Thumbs down times ten
Over a year ago I contacted HomeAdvisor to get bids for a bath remodel. Three contractors gave ridiculously expensive quotes. We decided to do the work ourselves. However, we continue to receive 6 to 10 calls per day from people asking if we ever completed our bathroom remodel project. Two of the same people call multiple times per day and I've asked them many times to take our number off of their list. They call back an hour later.
We completed our bathroom remodel a log time ago, but I can't get them to stop calling. They call from *******712, *******333 mostly, but other numbers as well.
I have been trying to get my regular fuel oil provider to come to my house since last August. After their second, no call, no show missed appointment I decided to get someone else. Home Advisor immediately provided a suggested repair company with a couple others in reserve. I liked that they didn't make me set up an account - I could search and get results immediately as well as schedule the service. Their suggested repair company was available in two days, the job is done and I'm happy with their service. HomeAdvisor is now in my favorites in my internet browser and I will use them again.
Home advisor gave me a list of people that could do the job. E&J Construction was the best. Edward did an amazing job installing my bedroom door for a good price. He was very professional and nice and extremely talented at his job. Thank You so much thr door looks fantastic and I give him 5 stars and recommend him to everyone.
Failed service, overall. We filled in the questionnaire to detail for the fixed rate quote and yet, Home Advisor's hourly estimation was at least 3 times off. The painter arrived, alone, and said he would need an entire additional day (charging us double than the original). We were forced to accept because we were moving in the next day. After almost an hour on the phone, H. A's agreed to respect the original quote but the painter cancelled on us anyhow. We ended up rushing to Home Depot to hire 3 random painters, who completed the job professionally. Will never, ever, use Home Advisor again.
Paid in good faith for a repair... that part went smoothly
Took days to be contacted, never could actually talk to anyone. Called several times only for the system to hang up on me after approximately 20 minutes each time.
The contractor never showed up and never called which I can prove via my phone and cameras.
They are trying to say they did. Their lies versus my technology... They will not talk to me or refund my money.
It is a SCAM!
I'm Contrator I sing in with them. I should star the 15 of this moth. I was not to take any more work at the time. They took $311.00 on leads that never got. They closed my account wend I demanded for my money back. There very dishonest company employees they no power to help you, so I can't get my money back, I hope if you're a contractor done waste your time.
This site says it does a background check on contractors... mine was approved in less than 3 minutes. What kind of check is that? They lied to me to get me to sign up and 5 days later I realized this tried to cancel... they said I was out of my 3 day window. Leads are complete garbage. Most of the time no one answers or calls you back. Home advisor just says we gave you a name and number so no refund. Complete GARBAGE!
Tip for consumers:
Run away as fast as you can! You will save money.
I kinda bumped into Home Advisor and initially was apprehensive, but they immediately sent me competitors. I found Eden Landscape to be professional and sincerely interested in making me happy with the end result. I would use HA again.
Easy to get contractors after some short questions regarding project. Was notified by email & phone for upcoming contractors. They check to find if project was done or more assistance is needed. It's convenient using this and would recommend.
Very good experience. Everything we discussed was taken care of. Tree limbs were cut and trashed. Did a complete walk thru and picked up all debris. Looks like a new yard. Very much appreciated the work that was done.
We decided to use Home Advisor to help stimulate new leads and it has been the worst experience ever. The sales person who was so fast to help set us up has been dodging us and our questions for the last few days... We were given wrong information when joining and are very disappointed with the whole experience, even tried talking to the "higher up" about our issues and the actual hold time on the phone was 5 hours! We left a message which has a 2 day turn around time. For the contractors thinking of joining Home Advisor, keep your money and put it towards marketing elsewhere- Home Advisor is nothing short of a scam
I received a call from someone listed on their site within 24 hours, and they turned out to be an exceptionally trustworthy company. They did an above average job! Thank you for having your site available to the public.
This employee was told numerous times, over the phone and by email that my company was not interested in any services or leads from Home Advisor. He continued to make contact. Even after being bluntly told to leave us alone several times. I had to call and speak with Super visitor to make the employee leave us alone. In one day he contacted us 5 times. He was very pushy and when we told him to leave us alone he just continued talking, emailing, and calling.
I originally was put off by using Home Adviser as a source for leads because of the bad reviews, but the constant harassment from this employee set it in stone!
So this happened just now, Sep 14,2022. I scheduled a 2-hour deep cleaning about a month ago with HomeAdvisor. The cleaner confirmed via text with me TWICE over the last weeks and got a text this AM to confirm I had an appointment (which I said yes.)
They then sent me a cancellation. I emailed them immediately and said they should be rescheduling me. What company wouldn't do that? They said they, 'need 48 hours to reschedule' (mind you, I had to ask?)
I was going to be a first-time customer. I'd be cautious. Some reviews are really positive but other sites show that they do this garbage Don't use HomeAdvisor for cleaning services!
After submitting my project on line, I got a call from a Home Advisor consultant within 2 weeks. Once we talked about the job, I started getting calls and messages that continued to come even after I signed a contract. I was surprised at how many companies called me when there are so many that are busy now with home projects.
Used them for 2 years, got 1 job. Most home owners were just seeing how much jobs would cost. One homeowner, 2 years ago +, had me give 7 different estimates on different ways to do the job. Drive by to this day nothing has been done. Waste of many hours of estimating plus the cost to HA.
This service is great at getting contractor lists quickly that you know are at least somewhat vetted. But the amount of follow-up emails is a bit much and many are repeats. In my case it was numerous emails about "the cost of fencing".
Home Advisor is easily the most corrupt online presence ever. The "leads" don't respond, and if they do, they were still on the home advisor site when you get it. They charge for leads that I didn't approve, and disputing the charges is a joke. They seem to have a script that ignores anything you are trying to say, if you can contact them. I let my account go to collections, and immediately set up a payment plan. Now I simply tell everyone to avoid them. They prey on contractors through unwitting home owners. Please, just search on the web for contractors. Anybody decent has a business listing and will return calls.
You've seen the commercials on TV all your home improvement needs call HomeAdvisor any contractor anytime call and hundreds of ads but nowhere in the a does it tell the consume that when they click the button on HomeAdvisor for a contractor that it cost a contractor money. This is the reason why we get so many leads consumers looking for prices. The leads are unqualified
We used them because of their misleading commercials three times. Every time some fast-talking know-it-all showed up and proclaimed they could do the job for a certain fee which we agreed to pay. Every time the three different men did not complete the work correctly and charged MORE than they estimated. We did a lot of online research after being burned and are convinced the site is owned and operated by the workers who have every incentive to lie and claim that they are honest and perform to expectations. NO! Do not believe the BS. Thrice burned, now we've learned.
Andy' guys were on time, polite and worked extremely hard. Probably the best experience I've ever had with a contractor. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up everything when they were done. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering a project.
The contractor they referred to us took our money and refused to finish the job. I could never offer a positive statement about hone advisor. They "promised" to resolve this problem. That was months ago.
Home advisor is extremely poor by any standard!
Will not use Home Advisor again. Negative experience. First worker had to leave halfway through the simple job for an "emergency". I think he oversold himself and didn't know what he was doing. Second worker was good and finished the job the next day. But working through the confusion and rescheduling by phone with Home Advisor was difficult. Did not like the app. Email notifications were contradictory or erroneous. I'd rather work directly with a local contractor to be sure I'm getting what I'm paying for.
