This was a significant investment for us, but one that was competitively offered. Mike and his crew were prompt, efficient, thorough, and completed the work in two days. The crew left our pool and surrounding landscape in good condition. I would recommend Desert Mesa Pools services to anyone needing pool deck repair.
Angi's leads has been hands down THE WORST lead service that I have ever used. Do not, I repeat, do not use their services. It's a complete rip off. They will send you a "lead" and charge you no matter what comes from it.Even if the lead is bogus. They sent me a lead where the number was disconnected, asked them for a a refund on the bad lead and no, the refund was denied. Sent me another with the wrong number, doesn't matter, still charged me $189 for the lead with no refund. I also found out that they will send you and 2-3 other people the same lead and charge everyone for the lead no matter what. It's a scam. I called and asked to speak to a supervisor, and even the supervisors were like Yep we send you the number and you can charge to matter what. Doesn't even matter if they don't call you back. Angi makes money by ripping off hard working people. So surprised that they are still in business. I would give zero stars if they allowed me to..
This company is horrible. I paid for a service ahead of time, through the company. The service provider showed up to my house an hour and a half late. He did not call to verify that he would be late and did not apologize. I called Home Advisor twice. Upon arrival he stayed at my house for 30 minutes of the 2 hour time and said we needed another part. Instead of going to the hardware store, that's less than 5 minutes away, he persisted that her had other appointments and that he would but the part and come back this afternoon. He never showed back up and did not answer his phone upon calling. I'm out of 150.09 and I still don't have the problem fixed. He has the nerve to ask for a tip for him going to the store for the part during the previous conversation. I'm beyond pissed. Don't use Home Advisor.
Jason the business owner, is very communicative in finding out what the customer wants, and also instructing what they may need. Timely, easy to reach, professional in many ways. I would recommend him highly. You can actually see the gears moving in his head as he assess the job.
Tip for consumers:
Enjoys beer after job is done.
Products used:
Ladder, rags. Box cutter.
If you are any contractor small or large do not do business with this company know as home advisor they're the biggest ripped off they caused my bank account to over draw the leds were not legit worst company ever
I scheduled work based on estimate (which I verified with an email, documenting job). They showed up, said job was bid too low. Called the owner, before I could request a counter estimate, he went into a "Yelling Rant" why it was too low. Left multiple messages with the "Rep" who gave me the estimate, could not get a word in with his "rambling", call ended with him screaming F bombs at me, ended call, told him to have a nice day.
I did end up hiring good one and got the job done. The "Mark Hawley Tree Service" experience was "so horrible" that I could not give a higher rating.
I've tried using this service several times for different jobs. I get "matched" with contractors and proceed to request quotes. No one ever contacts me. I end up getting a call from Homeadvisor a few weeks later asking how the process went and in I was happy with the service. Since I got nothing out of it other than wasting my time completing the request, no I can't say I'm happy with the experience. Won't bother again.
Charged me $855 in 6 days with a $350 cap on my leads. Guy who sold me the service said they credit for bad leads. It's a lie! They said a good lead means the name and phone number are valid. What?!?! These people didn't even want work done and I got charged $130 per "lead". Had to cancel my bank card. They call over 20 times a day to try to collect. Scam artists for sure!
I was a member of home advisor as a service provider. They send you leads and charge you for those leads without to personally picking through them. Had I known that I would've never agreed to their service to begin with. I pause my lead flow so I didn't get charged anything for 30 days. They turned it back on, stole $267.50 out of my bank account, and refused to refund. I deleted my account telling them that I did not want my companies good name associated with their scam artist business model. Contractor stay away, unless of course you want no control over your own money.
Home Advisor took our needs, matched our needs quickly with 3 service providers; all three responded - one apologized to say that they were in not the mitigation business. The other two professionals firms were both very good, courteous and provided quotes. We went with the first one who called even though was more expensive but we had committed to them during the call.
We truly appreciate Home Advisors for providing a very valuable service.
Three calls from Home Advisor just confirm my needs and my information. First call took approximately 45 minutes. Same questions each call. One representative confirmed she was offshore. Connection was horrible. Her English was relatively good BUT she could not understand some of my verbiage. An offshore rep should have command of the English language in the same manner a native English speaker does.
So far - horrible experience. I will see how it goes with the contractors. Not optimistic but will update my review.
While we were very pleased with Burke Roofing Services, the barrage of phone calls from other companies from out-of-state (Pennsylvania surprisingly!) was more than a little annoying. Thankfully those calls stopped after a few days but I hesitate to go through that again. If I did not need my phone for regular usage, I would have turned it off. So, I would rate my experience with HomeAdvisor as mixed. We thought, perhaps erroneously, that we contacted Burke and a few other companies directly... not through HomeAdvisor. So it is possible that we initiated this ourselves. Either way, we will be more wary in the future.
Home Advisor sounds great until you point out the flaws in their system.
In short, a contractor pays per lead. The same lead gets submitted to multiple contractors and you pay whether the customer calls you back or not. HomeAdvisor doesn't necessarily approve credits for misdirected leads. So it is often that a handyman pays for leads which should have went to a licensed plumber, electrician or general contractor.
Home Advisor told me not to worry about the lead fees, but to consider the ROI for my overall participation. I did just that and found that Home Advisor fees accounted for 49% of the gross revenue generated through their program.
On the 'pros' side - I did receive many great leads. I am a small father/son operation. I'm happy to pay for legitimate lead fees. The bogus ones, the 'tire kickers', the no-return-call ones... NO. You get charged for those also. Customer service is HORRIBLE. They company never makes clear of how lead fees are priced. Plus, I noticed a dramatic increase in lead fees the past few months. I was fairly diligent about requesting credit on 'dead leads'. I'm confident to say I was always honest in my requests AND I followed all the criteria established by HA. BEWARE - they will not credit you. They deny credit regardless if you meet their criteria. After a lengthy phone conversation with one rep, it was suggested I call in to request specific credit. I did twice. Both times the rep argued with me, lied to me and refused credit. The final time I cancelled the service. STAY AWAY.
I contracted for a "fixed cost" repair that was anything but. There is enough fine print to plaster a Mac semi trailer and all of it designed to charge you more. I prepaid for a fence repair through Home Advisor. The "contracted" repair person did not show up on time, made two trip to do a 2 hour job and and then wanted to charge me for materials and "additional time". These are not "pros" by any stretch of the definition. First Home Advisor told me that I did not owe additional monies, then, that I did.
In the meantime the contractor, who thanks to Home Advisor knows my telephone number, address and e mail is threatening me! All that you get out of Home Advisors customer service are platitudes, " We can understand" when clearly they don't and can't. I ended up paying $45.00 more for the job just so I would never have to talk to them again.
Amy was great. We got a lot done. I'm a career woman and have many clothes, Amy organized my clothes color coded dresses, blouses, pants, toes, jackets and sweaters. The closets and drawers are very neat and organized. I can see clearly now, the clutter is gone!
I have been using homeadvisor on and off for about 4 years. We have had numerous leads come to us that are from tenants that are not authorized to approve any service work to be done at the residence, yet for some reason Home Advisor continues to deny lead replacement on these. Stay far away from. They are not a business partner, rather a money hungry corporate monster!
Hi Eric, We're sorry you feel this way, we absolutely care about our business partnership. Leads that are from someone who does not have permission to work on the property is something that we are able to credit back for. While it can sometimes prove difficult for us to verify they do not have permission, we are always more than happy to discuss any concerns you have with leads. To speak with a rep, please send your contact info to emailus@homeadvisor.com and a rep will reach out. -HASupport
You can't believe a word out of their mouths the policy changes every time you have a problem and all they want to do is charge your credit card you don't even have control over how much and then they threaten you with a bill collector rip off deceiving scam artist be wise and stay away from this company
Confusing, I received a call from someone saying they were from Angie's then he hung up after I told him what I needed. Then I was charged twice for service that was only provided by Carolina best cleaners. They charge me for service from some lady name Natalie Who had never been to my house. Right now I'm waiting on my Refund.
Needed terrazzo polishing. Within the hour the company I hired called and set up an appointment for a free estimate. Owner was on time. Understood my needs. Can in under my expectations Budget wise. Hired them. 5 weeks later arranged for them to come the next week. Very professional and good work.
I allowed a contractor Roan (Jamaican guy) to remodel my shower. He sent over 2 drug addicts he found on craigslist to complete the shower. By the time they left they stole my tools I purchased and did not cover the shower drain so there is tile and adhesive all in the drain. They did not put the molding back on the wall. If a Roan come your way from conyers run as fast as you can. He also avoid your calls once you have a complaint and will not give receipts as promised.
Went on the website, typed in bathroom remodel and immediately got several contractors to choose from. I requested a quote from the first two that had five stars and great reviews. We received quotes from both of those contractors, as well as a couple others that were personal recommendations from friends. We went with the one that sounded like a better fit for us based on a combination of taste level, cost, and professionalism. Our HomeAdvisor pick was a success! We will be using them again for future home improvements.
No provider information until you've provided all your personal information. When will they learn that I am not going to commit without doing independent research? I try to move relationship away from site ASAP.
I tried to have a basketball hoop installed. The guy came, took 40 dollars for "supplies" and then disappeared never to return. I would totally stay away from this app. They claim they make hiring home project help easier but they make it harder.
Home Advisor was very helpful in finding contractors in the area. But, you still need to do your own research. I had a contractor come out and give a quote significantly less than everyone else, but when I started to ask about insurance, they ghosted me. So, you can't assume that contractor's license and insurance status has been pre-verified.
I called to find out if Home Advisor/ Angi actually verifies insurance/ licenses when I was having issues getting insurance info from my first contractor. I was told that insurance is self reported and not verified. The contractor also verbally told me that they are insured, but when I asked for proof of insurance, they were not able to provide it.
I was hoping to be able to find contractors with a verified history of good reviews.
I used HomeAdvisor to find someone to replace a few doors in our home. Someone called me within an hour and he was here the next day on a Sunday morning to look at the work. We've been working with him for a couple weeks now. Very satisfied.
I signed up for Homeadvisor pro and it has been the biggest headache ever. First they lied about how there services worked and then they continue to charge you for unwanted leads. I would have been better of taking my money and lighting it on fire and I would be further ahead than what I am now. This is a scam so stay far way.
