I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.

Visited Home Depot in Miami Lakes this past Monday, Aug 22 looking for an item. Not wanting to walk the entire store, I stopped and asked a young lady who was stocking goods in one of the aisles. She told me where to find said item and off I went in search of it. She then followed me to help me and when I could not find the item I was looking for, suggested alternatives. This is what customer service looks like! So I asked for her name to send public recognition of her service. Thank you Marie Darbouze (hope I got the spelling right)

My mother bought 6 appliances from homedepot.com. One came damaged. When we called to get it replaced we asked for another model instead, happy to pay any difference. The supervisor Michael from homedepot.com was very rude and not apologetic at all. They labeled this a "buyers remorse" and wouldn't take it back without a 15% restocking fee. They were very rude on the phone and not at all apologetic. They said the local store would pick up for free. When we called the store they also were very rude and said no they won't and to rent a truck and return it ourselves. Please check all new appliances very carefully and report within 48 hours. You expect that since you're buying new they would be in good condition but it is not the case a lot of the time.

I was recently offered a position at a Home Depot store in Tennessee. The offer was quickly pulled when their computers saw that I am a CIA drug operation whistleblower. These stores are just drug money laundering operations for CIA, like many other corporations. I have the ledgers to prove it.

This company has the worst delivery service I've ever gone through. They constantly and randomly reschedule my deliveries without even contacting me! How am I supposed to know when my items will be delivered if they do not inform me about the rescheduling?!?! I requested a delivery service at a specific date and time because that's when I will be at home and will be able to receive my items, but Home Depot don't care about that, they rescheduled without asking me if I will be at home on that particular day, and this isn't the first time they do it! Very, very unprofessional. I have started to buy from Best Buy and Lowe's instead and my deliveries have been pretty smooth. I will not buy at Home Depot anymore.

I scheduled Home Depot to deliver a new washer & dryer. The appointment window was for 9 am - 1 pm. I was downstairs ready at 8:53 am. I made breakfast and waited for my delivery. At 9:20 am, I went outside to retrieve something from my vehicle. As I returned to the house, I saw a door tag hanging on my door that said the Home Depot idiots were there at 8:20 am and had already left. I immediately called Home Depot delivery group who refused to turn the truck around and/or alter their delivery schedule. I call Home Depot store. I called Home Depot store manager. I called corporate office. I tried to get a hold of Ted Decker - Home Depot CEO. I tried for 3 hours to get someone on the phone that could help me. At every turn, I was denied assistance. Home Depot refused to do anything to help. They came early (before 9 am - as scheduled) and then refused to correct the mistake. Worst experience ever. Home Depot lost me as a customer today. I will never shop there again.

So frustrating. This is my second order in the last month that was being shipped to a store for me to pick up. In both orders, the arrival at store dates changed multiple times. I didn't have a Father's Day gift in time because the promised date was missed, and it changed 4 times from the date it was ordered to the date it was delivered. My current order is now on the 3rd change of promise date. Their tracking information means nothing. What's really funny is it ships from a warehouse 60 miles away and can be here in a matter of hours. I think I'm done with working the way. If they don't have it at the store, i'll find it somewhere else. Ordering from HomeDepot.com is the worst.

When I need something right now I will settle for going to Home Depot. Now this does not mean they will always have the item I am looking for. It seems about half the time the one item I need to finish the job... well rows and rows of material but the one slot that is empty is the item I need. Then we have to think of another way to finish up using a round about method. This runs the price up of what I was expecting to spend. But when I order online with them there is the option to see if that item is in stock, so that helps. Most of the time I try and get all my material over the internet, E-Bay and such. Much cheaper, It seems Home Depot is quite pricey on their stock. Lucky for them there are things like plywood and 10' sticks of pipe that are not easy to get delivered unless you get a large amount. So I will go there, and pay for the convenience. :)

We like Home Depot though it sometimes is not as well stocked as Lowes and the staff is harder to find when you have a question. We do go there and have purchased many home needs from them but I think they are generally a smaller store than Lowes.

I could not get the Home Depot military app to work on my iphone. I visited the store at 435 W. Sunset Road in San Antonio, TX. Shortly after entering the store Kaela asked if I needed any help. She helped me get it done very shortly. She was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Great job Kaela!

I will NEVER shop at hone Depot again. I have a Home Depot credit card. I don't use it much, but when I do I pay the bill in full when I get it. I got a letter in the mail from them today telling me for no particular reason they are closing my account and Mt credit cards are no longer valid. I was shocked. I think this is horrible customer service and will never shop there again!

Purchased carpet that turned out to be out of stock. Went for a refund and was told there would be a 15% restocking fee on an item that is out of stock. Crazy. You just can't make up these things. TYhe company that does their install are also the worst.

Checked an item on the HD website, then closed the site and went to confirm the dimensions. Came back to order the item, and the price had gone up. New policy at HD - buy it or we'll charge more each time you look? Shopping at Lowe's now.

Wanted to buy a Honda mower that was not in stock at the local Hilo Hawaii store. Went to the store with cash in my pocket. The associate at the order desk wasn't sure how to do the online order and called a manager. The manager informed me that they would not be able to ship the mower to Hawaii. When I asked why she stated because the engine had gas and oil in it. Furious and frustrated, I drove home, twenty miles away, and attempted to place the order myself. Within five minutes, my order was placed. I had never placed an order with Home Depot online before, and I'm not even a "manager." Within five days UPS delivered the mower to my home, free shipping! Use caution when talking to anyone at Home Depot about anything that is important to you because believe me, it's not important to them.

I have purchased items thru this site and it's convenient not having to go to store. You can find most items more online than in store. It will also tell you if it's in store for pick up to avoid shipping. The videos are great showing you options on how products work if applicable. But, sometimes the pictures provided are not matching product you're looking at (this is the smaller additional options for view). Shipping is quick and sometime you get items quicker than expected. You do have option to have delivered to local store for pick up if needed. Easy returns back to local store.

Big box stores have put my favorite hardware store out of business. Normal to walk around for 20 minutes at HD Trying to find help only to have them not know anything. Last week I asked about a drimmel bite and the employee told me. Lady, if I were you I'd go to Ace Hardware because no one here knows about these. Yesterday in the tile dept I asked for help, only to be told they were at lunch and no one could help me. Now my order that was suppose to be here yesterday and never came. Tracking number is wrong. I could go on and on. Maybe I'll write a book. I miss Orchard Supply Hardware.

I was charged $79 delivery fee on an item that said free delivery on the website. I was also charged another $75 for delivery because the order was broken up into two shipments. The customer service rep said it was because it was two separate orders.

Never again, these people are thieves.

Home Depot would not return call, even called there corporate office and with contact they got me with a store manager still to no avail nothing go handled what a run around this is the Council bluffs location went to Menards better cabinets cheaper price and they handled everything in one day will never shop there again...

NEVER AGAIN will I purchase any item from Home Depot. I ordered a GE washer/dryer unit for a rental property in August—over a span of 1.5 months, 3 deliveries were made with the product severely damaged each time. One of those times, delivery crew damaged the pipes and walls AND threatened my tenants. There was a 4th attempt at delivery but the delivery crew failed to wait for the 15-min window and left without completing delivery. Unbelievably awful experience and so I will never shop at Home Depot again.

I see many customers reviewed the store as bad. That is the case where I am going against the public opinion of majority. I don't know company in the US with better customer service than Home Depot. Of course, there are some disadvantages. There are bad and sometimes even rude employees (mostly novices). However most of my visits to this store were more than great. No problems with returns, no problems with parking, no problems with restrooms, no problems with variety of tools available. Again, there are some disadvantages, but let's compare it with other stores. Lowes is overpriced, Walmart is persecuting its own customers (e.g. Walmart blocked my account without reasonable explanation), ACE is harassing customers just because of parking. Home Depot is the store I really love. Among competitors, it is the best. I wish the best to this company.

I sometimes have trouble finding the item I'm looking for. If you do find what you're looking for they're shipping is best reasonably priced and the great thing about online Home Depot you can return it to the store if you don't like it

I went to the Home Depot on West 23rd Street, NYC for my kitchen renovation. I looked at floor displays for 20 minutes. Since no one came to help me, I asked a random sales associate where to find a knowledgeable associate - he pointed to three people sitting at desks. When I asked if someone could help me, a woman, barely looking up from her desk, asked if I had measurements. I did. She then said they had to indicate where the plumbing and gas pipes were - I told her the stove and sink would be in the identical place. With a disapproving attitude, she said she would be with me in 5 minutes. After 10 minutes I left and went to nearby Lowes where the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Home Depot lost a sizable sale.

I ordered a lamp for pickup. The website said they had five of them in stock. I paid using a gift card and a credit card. Unfortunately I almost immediately received an email saying the item wasn't actually in stock. It also informed me that I'd have to come in to the store (which didn't have my item) on order to receive my refund for the gift card.

They failed to say that I would not even receive my credit card refund until I'd gone into the store.

I then had to make a trip to a store solely to get my refund, despite the fact that it was their error in online inventory that caused the problem. I will not be shopping there again.

Tip for consumers:
Do not purchase anything with a gift card from this store! And, do not believe what their online inventory says about items being in stock.

Home Depot has some great prices. I went to buy mulch for the garden the price of the mulch was 3.00 or sometimes you can get it for 5 for 10 dollars. If your looking for certain things there are employee's that will help you find what your looking for. I like shopping at Home Depot.

While shopping with my husband at HD. Checking out your asked. Do you want to sign up for a HD credit card, for a $25.00 credit today? Of course the hubby says, sure you do. I say no I don't. Back and forth a few times. Finally I get tired of arguing! Ok fine! Signed up for the credit card and checked out. A few months go by, and bam I get a bill in the mail from HD. Not only is there a late fee, there is a charge for the $25.00! I call them up, to honestly ask what's this bill for? The phone person says. "You missed a payment " How did I miss a payment when this is the first bill I received?! They tell me it's the second bill. Well, I never received the first bill. I ask can you take the charge off and I'll just pay it. No sorry! Ok fine rip me off and ruin my credit! I paid it just to get it out of the way. :(. A few months later, my sister was complaining of a credit card exact situation. I asked her, what credit card? She says "HOME DEPOT" never shop there!

They have a nice large selection of standard quality construction and household materials and pretty good lumber. Even some of their generic items are pretty good. They also have some higher quality stuff available. The prices are usually not too bad either. Customer service is good, always someone available to help. Returns are quick and painless.
