My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
I know people who work for Home Depot. All employees have to work in a store at some point in their career. This is why this company is the best. They are team players and their goal is to help the customer.
Home Depot is requiring a person to have a Smart Phone and a Home Dept App to get the Military Discount. A great number of us Military types do not have a Smart Phone and will not be getting one for a long time. They will say they have a work around but is also not working. Lowes has solved the problem, they let use register and we give the cashier our phone number and everything is solved. They get our money and we get the discount with no problems. After 24 years of Military service, this requirement is like a slap in the face! Word will go through the military community very quickly and make Lowe's customers out of us. What was wrong with the old policy where we just showed our ID to receive the discount?
We were all set to order three doors. Wanting to make sure that the doors were measured and ordered properly, we were pleasantly surprised to find out that for $50.00, someone would come to the house and measure for us. Sold! A couple of days went by and someone from Home Depot called. Hey, we're in the area, can we stop by? Sorry, we aren't home. Then radio silence. We called a couple days later. Oh yeah, we'll call you right back. Never did. Third call. Yeah, we'll give you the installers number, you call him and set it up. WHAT!?! Ten days later, order is cancelled. I told the store manager but I'm pretty sure he doesn't care. He didn't even take all of my information. What a waste of time.
I love to shop at HomeDepot and this is the best store. Customer service was great
And everything went smooth with my return. Their Employees are the best and go out of their way to help me every time I shop there.
I switched from Lowe's to Home Depot. About the ONLY issue I have is that sometimes it's very difficult to find someone to help you, and that's because the staffing is low... I suppose to save money?

I went to HD for dirt. I found one that said 1.68. It seemed right to me because it was without all the food, just plain dirt. After waiting for the teller in the heat for a long time the price for each bag was almost $8. It was too late to say no and she sent us to customer service. Luis in customer service said I didn't do it and did not assumed any responsability. The dirt was in the wrong place. I wasted my time and nothing happened. Luis did not apologize. This is the minimum you can do for a good customer service.
It was the best job that I ever had. Super management staff. With a lingering foot injury, I had to sadly leave after 2 months. I wholly recommend Home Depot in Dewitt for a new Job, Andrea. You'll get no garuntee of delivery of your appliance and customer service is non existent. They need to learn from companies like amazon, walmart, target as to how to operate. They're a sinking ship if they don't get their delivery together.
Not only do they lie about them confirming delivery time, they are lazy, won't install a washing machine on top of a washing machine pedestal. That is what it is built for. Told the guy to leave it in the garage and I would hook it up myself and he left with the washer. So he stole it out of my garage. This was the 2nd attempt as they just show up whenever they want to deliver. Again, lie, cheat, and steal from you. Still waiting for 3rd attempt and nearly 3 weeks after purchase. Stay away from anyone using Linn Star delivery.
The Home Depot in Santa Fe is known to be the worst store in the state. I can verify that. It is the worst place I have ever dealt with. It took them 6 months to put in flooring in my 565 sq, ft apt. They didn't know where things were, when they were coming, the supplies were wrong from the beginning, I had to go to the store and pick up various things they did not order from the beginning. The person that measured did it wrong. Do yourself a favor, don't go here.

About the only thing I buy at Home Depot are solar garden lights because they have a better selection than Lowes. The employees are all but useless. The service is lousy. They hire all the people that Lowes fires.
I had a return to Home Depot needles to say the lady at desk was clueless and no help. She pretended to be on the phone just to weasel out of helping us. The Hispanic lady by the name of Cristina at the return desk at 1740 Epps bridge rd Athens ga needs a different job and definitely don't need to be a customer service representative.
Home depot says that if you open a credit card you get money off. What they don't tell you is if you buy the item on sale in any way shape or form, you will not get the money off by opening the credit card. No one will ever tell you this but i found out the hard way. Not happy.

My husband and I ordered a microwave from home Depot. He had to leave work early because they only give a ten minute warning for a 5 hour delivery window since they do not do in store pick up for appliances. The microwave arrived damaged. We called them the same day it was delivered. They told us that we had to wait as the manufacturer was closed. We only had a 48-hour return window. So we brought it into the store to return. They told us that they do not accept in store returns of appliances. They made an acception and now we are going to Lowes.
I like this store. They honor coupons and have a wide array of products for your needs. Always have good sales, although a good number of items can be found a lot cheaper at Walmart. Good store if your looking for things Walmart doesn't carry and the quality is the same.
Please don't buy appliances from Home Depot. After buying my new stainless steel appliances 1 and 1/2 years ago I ended up receiving a refrigerator with an icemaker that didn't work and still doesn't. A freezer door replaced three times. Plumbers having to come to my home numerous times at my expense. A stove door rusting and replaced twice with no resolution. I have to apply rust removal cream weekly. The dishwasher thankfully is ok. I went to Home Depot on several occasions to complain and wanted to return these lemons which they refused instead sending techs to fix the problems which hasn't happened. I am very Disappointed and Disgusted and am through with Home Depot and any major purchses..
I bought an LG refrigerator from home depot and paid for the extended warranty (alot of good that did). The refrigerator stopped cooling and asurion
( home depot protection plan) would get lg on the line and lg would make an appointment and I stay home from work and no one shows up to fix it. 3 different times I've opened a claim and nothing was done! I've lost all my food in my fridge and this damn fridge is only 3 yrs old. It's a junk! Home depot, LG, & Asurion is giving me a runaround! Im devastated it's just fantastic when u pay for a service plan on a refrigerator and it's a junk and no one will stand by a signed contract! It all began with home depot so I hold them at fault for this. IM DONE WITH THEM!

Can not tell if incompetence or intentional fraud! Multiple entirely inconsistent representations by the various "customer service" representatives about my items ( which lost or misplacedby homedepot.com. What was true or what were lies or ignorance! To make matters worse-- one rep after mistakenly canceling my order despite being told not to do so, attempted to "cover her tracks" by sending an email claiming her action/mistake was "at my request".
Staff knowledge is hit or miss. In my location, the lumber and hardware is great but the paint section is really horrible. Tried repainting some shelves and they recommended the wrong paint. Store experience is, well, a discounted version of a good shopping experience.
Went to buy a few items on the Home Depot website for Halloween. When I got to the checkout they were 50% more expensive then they were listed for. Apparently they were in the process of 'adjusting' some of their prices. If I hadn't been paying attention I would have paid the outrageous markup. Sloppy at best. Dishonest at worst.
Purchased a Dremel tool packed neatly in the box. Got it home to realized it was re-taped closed box, and a used tool was inside. There was even saw dust on the tool! Buyer beware at Home Depot. You might be better off buying at a garage sale rather than paying top dollar for used goods pawned off as new.
I feel that if you have served your country in the armed forces even if you are not retired or still on active duty you deserve a discount. If you are a very you served with honor and you still put you country above your own life. It is wrong not to recognize a veteran for his or her service.

We had 3 choices of different companies to do our windows, at the end we choose Home Depot, we were so happy that they gonna fix our windows the way they promised us, unfortunately we were and are so disappointed, the job was so sloppy, poorly done and the wind is crossing through the windows side, my husband called couple times your customer service to fix what they did wrong but no one is taking responsibility to do their duties.

Telephone system. Small guy is more in tune to service in my opinion.
Their customer service has gone severely downhill. We've been loyal customers for over 20 years and will not purchase from again. They are using an outsourced shipping vendor for home deliveries that is horrible. They said a $3000 purchase was delivered when it wasn't took over 8 phone calls over 2 1/2 weeks and 6 hours of my time and purchase still not delivered. Home Depot customer service reps acknowledge that their number 1 complaint and frustration is NDS. Investigations and changes need to be made by Home Depot before they lose all their loyal customers.
