My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
I bought a new stove from home depot and the door handle fell off. It was obviously broken and glued back together. Home depot ILLEGALLY sold me a used or repaired stove as new. Calling customer service was a continuous run-around and hang ups. I have spent more than $45,000 at home depot over the past 24 years and I will not give them another penny

Appliance
We were renovating our mom and pop cottages/motel and Home Depot was our main source of purchasing building supplies, materials, appliances, bathtub inserts, windows, etc. The disappointment is that many items such as appliances have to be ordered as there are none in stock. Makes it hard when you need it now for a rental unit. Each store carries different items making it annoying because both stores which are 1 hour away from us are in opposite traveling directions. The returns are easy to make. I like the online system of receiving a receipt as soon as purchase is completed. The staff is almost all friendly at both locations. Both location we use have knowledgeable staff. Loading up your vehicle an needing staff help is always difficult to get.
Bought a rooms worth of carpet for $25 dollars it was like 30¢ per sq. Ft. Always have good sale going on, which is great because I love improving my home. I've noticed it's best to check online for deals prior to going in person
I called in to request statements older than 2 years. You would have thought I was asking for a kidney. Needless to say... ordered them... waited for snail mail... oh when I received them... wrong invoices. I realize they don't make tons of money, nor does it require a rock scientist degree, but come on. Your technology needs to be updated and have somewhat intelligent people working there. Makes me want to shop at Lowe's...
Process started December 2021 this not even close to being complete and it's June 2022! My son built a whole house during this timeframe. Absolute worst customer service from the West Branch Michigan store. I also wonder if since my project was not a fancy expensive one if they didn't care about it. Damaged cabinet multiple times, no return calls, no contact everything has been left up to me to move forward. I will never ever ever step foot in a Home Depot store again!
Spend at least an hour buying nothing... Stood in front of the concrete blocks that I needed but could not reach, wheeled my cart all over the store looking for an associate to help me, it's almost like when they see you they 'run'... Ended up taking a picture of the item & will return with my husband!
Trying to spend $400 on an order - conflicting information "in stock" then "order error at checkout" Finally on the 6th attempt it took my cc info and gave me a following day delivery date. 10 mins later I get an email message "items cancelled on your order"! I'm done with Home Depot - worst shopping experience ever.
Home Depot kitchen home maker sounds like a great idea until there is an issue. Had my kitchen done by Home Depot and my counters are dreadful the were installed on august 24th and is now thanksgiving and still no resolution on how they are going to move forward to solve the issue. Any time you try and contact them the answer always the same it's been sent to management and just sit and wait for a response that never comes, was told by their administrative coordinator that they would fix the issue with nicer materials which was I lie because after the fact she denied ever saying that, you can't get in touch with anyone who can make decisions but instead keep passing the buck to other people who never call, if your looking for customer service this is not the place to do business with, I would have left a zero star but it made me select something before writing my review
The absolute worst appliance delivery experience ever! Delivered on the wrong day 3 times then, back & forth with "The Office" resulting in me not knowing if my new appliance even works. Next time, I get it at Lowe's!
Tip for consumers:
Buy an appliance ANYWHERE ELSE!
They have everything I need with helpful diy projects, calculator, what I would need for a project, videos and so on...
Easy online order, delivered to your door. Such convenience.
Thank you Home Depot employees!
Tip for consumers:
If you don't know what you're getting into watch their DIY videos.
Excellent prices, liberal return policy, friendly and helpful staff. And they are known for treating their employees well.
One note of caution: Unless their delivery service has changed, you may wait a week or more for your order which is literally sitting fifteen miles from you.
I do lot of shopping from them. They may not be cheapest.
No one has a better customer service, care n guidance than them. Return policy is excellent. Staff is friendly a least at my place in bolton Ontario
Good stores, but never enough help available. Just to going to get some keys made always ends up taking 30 min or more most of the time. Sadly they are sometimes more convenient then then their competition. If their is another store 5 min further I will go there first.
I spend 80 to 100 thousand a year at Home Depot in Abilene texas. I took $50 dollars of materials back for credit. Logan the $#*!. Manager refused to give me credit even though he admitted that it was Home Depot items. My last payment was $******* on August bill. This is poor customer service an Depot can kiss my b-t DVid Biggs
My husband and I joke about how well our Home depot got to know us. Ordered many Items online, from another town, for pick up at a local store nearby a renovation we were doing on another home. Great service and always friendly helpful staff.
Rarely meets delivery dates and In-store pickups I would give a rating of one star due to the hours (yes plural) that it takes to get what was ordered and eventually arrived. I have even paid for items on invoice which indicated delivered but were missing and when addressed, I received a refund for item no longer being available.
Customer service in Milton was extremely helpful for us. When they didn't have the product advertised on their website they gave us a more expensive one at the sale price!
My only complaint would be the garden center when the employee was sitting, on his phone, and shoes off who never asked us once if we needed any help with anything. Ended up purchasing our shed somewhere else. << this is the only reason they lose a star.
Home Depot site is difficult to navigate sometimes. Items that you may be looking for are sometimes found in the last place you would expect. Also they have shipping policies that don't make sense sometimes. Check and double-check before automatically clicking on "free shipping".
The delivery man from home Depot would give us the temperamental attitude you'd find in an artist or a poet the whole way. He really wanted his tip so everything he did, every step he took came with "no can dos" so we could say okay will give you more money.
I was disgusted.
Ordered a Gazebo, came as promised, within the week, and packaged well, came to house, via local carrier. Product was in good condition, website easy to navigate, would order again, also used store pick up, which worked out great, product was there waiting for me, at the counter, they sent email when it was ready, Good customer service.
Though I have shopped and worked there in the last two decades, I can say that they weathered the storm when home improvement stores went belly up about fifteen years ago. Most of the time I am satisfied with my purchases, though some of their prices are debatable. At any rate, I like the fact that they let me shop in peace. However, when it comes to finding something, I am confident that some of their associates could use more education. I do know that the job is tough enough, granted. They do need a much better directory than they currently have. Maybe something electronic in the front door would be useful.
Pound per pound, not a bad place.
How do you not like these guys? I'm a capable handyman for most things around my house. That being said, the guys... and gals at my local HD have always been great. I don't require lots of attention, but when I do, they are always very helpful.
Product selection is always good (better be for a "big box" type of store), pricing fair and competitive...
Check 'em out!
Better prices than Lowe's. Sometimes employees are not in the mood to help customers. But they carry lots of superior brands, especially Behr Paint, that I find is superior to all other paints. They are good to stand by with compensations when their guys mess up an installation.
If I could give zero stars I would. This establishment in general is a disgrace. Nothing but rude unhelpful people. Store is dirty/cluttered. They are a bunch of Crooks. Their appliances are never in working order when purchased and they charge you for protection plan/warranty then claim it was never purchased. You call or contact the customer care, corporate headquarters and Nothing but lies, headaches and make you wastes hours of your time trying to solve the issues. Will not do business with them again.
Don't get me wrong, I love Home Depot and will continue to shop there, however the online pickup is seriously flawed. You would think that after an order online, paid for and verified would take a quick 5 minutes to breeze into the store and grab your items with proof of purchase. Not the case. Upon arriving I was put in the same line as customer service and returns. It took around 35 minutes for me to go through the line, obtain my items and leave. Comparably, I could have easily shopped these items myself, paid for them and left in half the time. Just sayin'.
Tip for consumers:
Either pay for the shipping or shop it yourself. It will save time!
