My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
Last 3 or 4 orders placed online for instore pickup of various items at various stores have been cancelled due to inaccurate inventory. I finally called Corporate CS and was told "yeah, we know we have big issues with accurate store inventory being reflected online - it's often way off." REALLY? Based on that, I would advise folks to sell any stock in HD. If you have no accurate way to maintain reliable inventory how can you possibly maintain accurate revenue reporting, much less fulfill customer orders... or even strive for customer satisfaction. My latest pick-up order was for a quantity of 1 of an item that had 6 in stock, of which 5 were saleable. After 2 hours I received the standard "whoopsey, no one can find them" phone call. So few hundred dollars in product disappeared. Placed another order for same item at another store that had 2 saleable in stock. Thirty minutes pass before that call with same story. Perhaps the internal theft, or employee incompetence is extremely bad in my area. Perhaps my area is the anomaly and other stores are competent, but based on national customer service rep's response it seems my situation is not unique. The last time I've had so much trouble with a B&M company's online site it was Sears... and everyone knows how their transition to digital sales went.
My suggestion is if you MUST order from HD online with in-store pick-up dont spend too much time because the effort you make to create the may be wasted when nothing is in stock.
Try to reach them on company phone for online purchase is next to impossible. I tried for 1 full week 3 or 4 times a day for a large purchase that was not in store Have been put on hold each time and after 30 to 45 min I hung up I did get ahold of them in past only to be put on hold several times because they could not answer question And they dont even like excepting there own coupons there is always a catch Done with Home Depot lowes has better sales anyway And I can by tools I need at other sights just as cheap are cheaper. In store it's hard to find a knowledgable person to talk to I just look till I find what I need. WILL NOT SHOP THERE AGAIN
Learned a hard life lesson. "Where doers get more done" does not refer to Home Depot employees, warranty, nor products.
They offer shiny commercials of cheap products, training, and convey concern for customers.
Let's face it, most of their products come from China, known for cheap things that don't last.
Purchased a GE kitchen package in August 2018 with extended warranty. The range push button panel broke in September 2020. After three visits from their warranty partner, National Platinum Service, and replace the of two parts they deemed in 'unrepairable'. GE disavows the product as out of warranty, refer to warranty company Asurion. They will not assist in recovery or replacement. HD will not assist as they only sold the product.
What did I pay for?
My private message on Messenger was not answered. My calls have gone no where. My letters to upper management, 4, in Atlanta are un answered. Again, what did I pay for?
HD staff, products, and warranty work together for their benefit but NOT the customer. Good luck, look elsewhere.
I ordered a gas dryer on 9/28 and it was scheduled for delivery on 10/8. I received a phone call the day before, telling me that a plumber would be out to connect it to the gas within 24 hours of delivery. When it was delivered, the delivery people said that it would not get installed the next day as it was a Sunday and that Monday or Tuesday would be the install date. On Monday I received a call telling me that it had been rescheduled until Thursday. I called Home Depot because no one would be available in the morning due to existing work commitments. I said I could do anytime after noon on Thursday and they said they would make a note of it. On Wednesday at 3:30pm I got a voicemail that my install window was 7:30-11:30 am on Thursday and there was no call back number or other info to reschedule. I called and now they can't install my dryer until 16 days from now. This is super frustrating since the first 2 times were fine. I will literally never buy an appliance from Home Depot again.

It would have been helpful to know that Home Depot does a terrible job communicating with customers and their partners.

P.S. H. D. Keeps apologizing for their 3rd party delivery service, but that never helps. H. D needs to hire its own delivering team and cancel 3rd party contract. Period!

On July 1,2022 I was checking out at the self check at Home Depot. As I was checking out the monitor was standing behind. I didn't know she was directly behind me, and watching me check out. If I had turned around faster than what I did I would have run into her. My first thought was that she was watching me put in my Pin #. The first thing I did was find The Store Manager. When I told him what had happened he said that she was monitoring the products I was purchasing to make sure there was still enough of the items in stock. He also had no concerns about the woman looking at me putting in my pin#. All that he said was he understood, and that was the end of his conversation. This made no sense. My next response was to contact Home Depot customer Service. It took me a long time to get a live person on the phone. I explained what had happened. They said they would make a report, and said someone would be in touch with me in 3 days. It is now 7/14/2022, and no one has contacted me. So when is Home Depot going to contact me?
I just love going in here and look at all of the things they have to offer. They have many different styles, colors, and items to choose from. I always go back there...

How dare you come at me like I'm a thief when I just purchased my items and had the receipt in my hand. I immediately returned all I had purchased and will never shop here again. I went and returned the other item I had purchased online, the returning employee laughed in my face the whole time and and the manager VANESSA wouldnt even get off the phone to talk to me. Wow. This place is disgusting. How DARE YOU!
Update: I'm expecting calls from the regional and district manager and I want a written apology from the manager, associate who falsely accused me and the associate who laughed in my face. I consider that a reasonable request.

Home Depot as others are giving away all PPE, and is screwing over general public as not to have ANY for general public during a crisis. Shame on you Home Depot, hopefully one of your own doesn't pay the ultimate price for your IGNORANCE. It is the GOVERNMENTS JOB to provide PPE, not Home Depot.
My customer experience is terrible. My appliances have been delayed (for almost 2 months from now) and I have been told from "project support" that I was not charged. Then I called credit services and they say I have a full charge on my card. I complained to the store and they told me I must be charged for an order to be placed. On the website in there own FAQ it says regarding back order I will not be charged until the order is shipped which is a lie. There is a huge error here where every support person (every person I spoke with was disgruntled and not able to help me) and me running around calling all these departments is broken and not right. Why is this so complicated for me as the customer. In addition, I had to call to reschedule the installer. Booking told me they only book but they don't cancel or reschedule. WTF! Also why am I only told the day before arrival that my appliance order is delayed for 2 months! Home Depot has some huge logistical problems. Be prepared to run around and not get any answers. Phone and Customer support in general is terrible!

My husband and I bought a MrCool mini split through Home Depot in Tacoma WA and received only partial order. We went to the stores Customer Service and asked about our shortage (with a mini split you get 2 or more indoor head units, 2 in our case, but we only received 1) and both the Associate who sold it to us and the store manager first said that all 4 packages were delivered (we had 5 packages, not 4) then proceeded to say that the last package hasn't shipped. Another Manager was supposed to call us this past Tuesday but to this day has not. We are 3 weeks in with no other resolution other than they would like us to return all of the unit back to them and they would replace it….with another partial order? According to the MrCool associate we spoke to, Home Depot has been ordering "partial " orders for this particular item so are they trying to "scam" the American market? It cost us 1700. For the install, am I supposed to pay another $1700. For the uninstall and hope my next order is complete? Sad and frustrating.

Companies really need to understand that you work for the “public”. We are your bread and butter and deserve to be treated with respect. I’ve worked in Retail and my Customers were always treated with respect and kindness…even if they didn’t deserve it.

I wish I could rate it 0! We ordered kitchen cabinets on Jul 7. According to the website, they were all in stock. We were supposed to receive them by Aug 3 and did not. I called Home Depot and was told they would ship the following week and for the next two weeks with countless calls, I kept being told the following week. On Aug 17, I called again and they said they would be shipped on the 21st or 22nd and we would receive them by Sept 5 or 6. I got totally fed up with all the lies and went out and bought cabinets somewhere else and was going to cancel the order when I got home. I checked my email when I got home and there it was from Home Depot " your order has shipped". Are you kidding me? I immediately called and cancelled the order which was just charged to my credit card and was told to call back on Tuesday to remind them to cancel the order after they checked the tracking update. They are so screwed up with their website, misinformed by their vendor and the best goes on! Needless to say NEVER AGAIN!

I ordered an item last year and used the subscribe & save function. I made the incorrect assumption that Home Depot would notify me in some way before they shipped a subscription item.
Every other company I have a subscriptions for does this. Unfortunately, homedepot.com does not do this. They only notify you the day they ship the subscription item.
They sent a shipment notification email my at around 1am, and I attempted to cancel the order as soon as I saw it around 8am. By that time it was already too late to cancel the order. I've since moved so they ended up shipping the item to an old address so now it's become a hassle to get the item to be able to return it. On top of that I had changed my billing address and they still somehow still charged my credit card.
There is a reason reputable companies send an advanced notification for subscription orders. Homedepot.com chooses not to do this so they can make more money in a somewhat unethical way, so I'll opt to not do business with them in the future.
NO customer service. You are judged by what you are wearing. I hate when someone points to where you should go. I just walk out and drive the 2 miles to Lowes.
We should own stock in this company. We are there at least once a week. We own our home and it is a homeowners paradise type store. Reasonable prices and awesome stuff.
Do yourself a favor and shred your Home Depot card! If they give you interest for 24months and you do not pay in that time, you get an insanely large balloon interest charge at one time! Bought a/c for $5,000+ received in ONE bill an interest charge of $4,000+ They prey upon consumers and will do nothing to help. SHRED YOUR CARD!
I have ordered flooring Home Depot for in-store pickup. They said it will arrive in 10 days. It arrived in 4+ weeks. It needed to be shipped from 850 miles and it took 4+ weeks!
During the process every time I called Home Depot they told me a different story about where the item is. Sometimes they said it already arrived just hasn't been unloaded yet. The 2 days later they said it hasn't arrived yet. Then sometimes they flatly said they have no idea where it is. At times they didn't even know how is it being shipped. I gave them the shipping info to their shipping company.
At some point they even said that what you buy on Home Depot online is NOT Home Depot, but third part supplier, so they don't take responsibility for it.
Other times a HD supervisor said that the delivery timelines online are meaningless - which I guess was true as it kept showing that the item will be available for pickup 10 days after order even when we were 27 days past order.
Do not order online at HD except if you have time to wait months to wait for your items.

Don't order, as shipping estimates are completely baseless and ignored. Shipping can take 4+ weeks

By far the best home improvement store as far as selection and experienced personnel. They do not always have the best price so you need to shop around.
I like how they will cut wood for me. It seems though when I ask for help I can never find anyone. It has been a while since I have been there. I usually send the kids.
The Home depot has terrible customer service. I have had to return items and the staff is rude. I am drowning in debt and was unable to pay off the balance due. Good night and Good Luck!
