My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
We ordered a stove in mount pleasant NY store. Before we ordered or accepted the delivery, no one told us unlike other products in home depot, major appliance cannot be returned! We waited for our contractor to come to install the stove for one week but decided to change it to a bigger one, no way! They wouldn't accept the return because, according to them, even the appliance is damaged, you only have 2 days to return it! They should have let us know before the order, not after! If I knew it, I wouldn't even place any orders with them! This is not the first time we had problems with home depot. One month ago, we placed another order and they gave us the delivery time. I took one day off from work and waited for the delivery for a whole day! No one showed up, no one called me. I called the online store, they said they were not able to located the products! I asked how long should I wait, the lady simply said 'I don't know' then did not want to talk any more. I called them again to cancel the order and they told me I have to go to the store to get my refund for online orders. I wonder how such a big company has such lousy selling system and can still keep their business running for such a long time! I will never go to home depot in all my life. According to my friend at ithaca NY, they have the same issue with home depot there. So it's the problem of the whole company, not individual stores. Lowe's has much better customer service and return policies.
I just walked in to Home Depot in Beaverton, OR through the same door I have walked in since the store was built 20 years ago. I was 20 feet in to the store and could see the exact lumber I was going to buy when a guy came up and asked if I was a "pro". I said no. He said I would have to exit the store and walk all the way down to the "Entrance". Now mind you, people were walking in through that door all around me. Some with out masks. Why did he pick me and why didn't he ask me to use the front entrance next trip WITH an explanation? Why wasn't he polite and constructive with his concern? I spend thousands of dollars in this store. I loved Home Depot!
I called the manager and Matt listened. He did not say a single word. He was basically rude in his inability to respond. Who hired this guy. He is not managing anything. Worthless employees making a bad name for those that do work hard. Matt was completely useless and unresponsive. Maybe he doesn't get paid!
The fact that neither employee offered any appreciation for my business and directly demoted me to something beneath a pro is an insult. I will be shopping at Lowes from now on. I will speak with my brother in law who is a pro and see if maybe he will shop elsewhere also.
I did nothing wrong, nothing out of the ordinary. All I did was walk into the store through the same door that I have walked in since that store opened. That used to be a Montgomery Wards on that lot. Horrible Service and absolutely no appreciation for the hard money we spend there. Manager is a joke.

Ordered 11 cabinets. Four of the eleven cabinets were damaged but the boxes they were shipped in had no damage. Seems the factory just sent me 4 damaged cabinets they had sitting around. Then of the 4 replacement cabinets 2 hard damage with no damage of the shipping cartons. Thee cabinets are of terrible quality and I am shocked at Home Depot for continuing to sell this product. I THINK HOME DEPOT NEEDS TO STRAIGHTEN UP AND QUIT SELLING THESE CRAPPY CABINETS TO THEIR CUSTOMERS!
I bought a Electrical Stove and does not come with a plug. Plus the salesman there did not say anything about it, clearly, he does not know what he is doing.

Just bought a kitchen and doors from Home Depot in Santa Rosa and have had the worst experience... all the cabinets are wrong and waiting over 12 weeks for the doors
Ordered a camping chair seven days ago that they said was in stock. It still has not shipped. Shipper says they have not received it. Won't let me cancel even though it has not shipped yet.
NO STARS. We bought a new home and needed three carpets. There were problems with every one of them involving major delays and stress. We were told the first carpet would be delivered on time. The day after we were told over the phone that it would come the next day, we got a call saying it would be delayed two weeks. This carpet was purchased with the special "7 day" guarantee. The second carpet was also delayed. The third carpet arrived on time but was defective and had to be returned. We had to wait another 7 days for another carpet. If this is not enough, NO ONE takes any responsibility for problems. Home Depot subcontracts to the carpet people and the carpet company sub contracts to the installer. The installers are the only people who are competent. Everyone else passes the buck. It's almost impossible to speak to anyone. There were a couple of employees at the store who did their best to help but their hands were tied by Home Depot policies. Don't order carpet form Home Depot unless: You can wait a long time to get your carpet, you don't care if it might be defective and you enjoy spending hours on the phone/at the store trying to get help.
Home Depot has changed their policy on returns. I purchased some drip system fittings a couple of weeks ago for a system I was putting in. I needed to exchange one type of fitting for another. Fittings were clean, new, labeled and in plastic bag. Unfortunately I paid cash and did not have my receipt. Long story short, customer service was rude and indifferent. I left without the fittings I needed as well, I will shop at Lowes.
Another recent incident with Home Depot on a return: Rheem water heater return. Tank broke or cracked after 2 years on a 6 year warranty. I called Rheem as directed in the paperwork, obtained authorization for return to Home Depot. I checked the store location to make sure that had a replacement in stock (I live 40 minutes away). Long story short, the "help desk" would not honor the return. I asked them to call Rheem. The associate pretended to do this. I say pretend, because I had done it twice with the same number and there were prompts to get to the return department. The associate stood there acting like they were not picking up. I called on my cell phone and the Rheem center had to bark at them (there were 4 rude Home Depot associates present) to let me take a replacement water heater. This took me over an hour. Home Depot has ZERO idea of what customer service is supposed to look like unless you want to buy something. I hate to report this as I have been driving past Lowes for several miles to get to Home Depot as I have always gone to Home depot. That ended today, I am not going to have a 3rd nightmare at a Home Depot "customer service" counter.
Hard to get good help. They have good prices, and some good brands, don't expect an expert opinion when you do find someone to help you. Best to know what you want before entering the doors.
Upon arrival I was greeted at the pro desk by a woman I am a man and a professional contractor having a woman help me with such a graduation was a pleasure she did more than enough I highly recommend cloning this employee in stock in your stores with the results of the cloning the employee of the day for me my eyes was Cynthia out of the Chula Vista location off of East H Street thank you so much job well done

I shop quite often at Home Depot and on the rare occasions that I have had a problem they always responded to any problem I had quickly and fairly. I would recommend them to anyone
Website works fine but I can't say the same for their delivery service. I bought a washer and had Home Depot delivery folks install the machine. The washer flooded our house causing some water damage. Now they shouldn't necessarily be blamed for a bad washer but they should be accountable for what happened next. I immediately the delivery guys. They examined it, said it was defected, and offered to take it back. It took them a month to replace it. But more importantly, homedepot.com swiped any evidence of a defected product. When our home insurance company investigated our claim, homedepot.com says they no longer have the defected machine. They know that it's like a murder weapon -- without it, the insurance company has no case. So now they are claiming innocence and absolving themselves from any liability. It's totally underhanded and no way in the interest of the customer. Hence, a one star rating.
For anyone reading this, any time you have a product defect that caused damage, make sure you keep it, even if it's wet, stinking up the room, and taking a lot of space. Otherwise you would have to trust the seller to do what's right and compensate you for the damages. And in homedepot.com's case, they aren't into doing what's right.

I absolutely love coming to Home Depot. The staff is always friendly, and there is always plenty of products to choose from. I use this place for all of my home projects.
Good place, I purchase items here quite frequently, I enjoy my trips and there is plenty of things to choose from.

My mom bought a washer a year ago an seems to break down every month sometimes every other month they don't want to replace it. Be careful with ur warranties they don't want to do anything
I ordered my hard wood floors and had them delivered. It was Free Shipping so I figured why not just have the heavy flooring delivered to my door! Delivery was quick and I loved the floors!

Home Depot does not take return or refund on Rheem Water Heater, neither will they help you, they give you the number to call Rheem, neither will Rheem take the return nor the refund, they can only suggest that you call a service tech which can take a week or two, while you take a cold shower nor can you wash your utensils and spread the bacteria and be sick, this is what your bottom line for buying Rheem water heater, please think before you buy,,,

Was home alone when my 55 gal water contaner sorung a leak. Called HD and sent a neighbor to pick it up. They had it ready and put it in his car. Great Customer Service
The home depot is useless. Spent 3 days trying to order items with no success. Called customer service and waited 15 minutes. Spent 30 minutes with service person and she was unable to order items.
They have such a great selection in the stores as well as online. I've been purchasing online with free store pickup in just a couple days. Great service and selection!
