My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
They fired a cashier because he was berated by a 45 supporter, who does this, companies I don't shop at anymore
I am so enraged with our experience purchasing kitchen cabinets, I feel compelled to warn everyone to not order cabinets on line from Home Depot.
Their Guarantee is worthless and they outright lie.
The delivery date was a fairy tale and then they claimed they attempted delivery and did not. My contractor was there waiting in my dime and chased the truck which never slowed down or stopped to "attempt delivery". One cabinet was short and never shipped. Another was mysteriously cancelled (not by us and they can' explain who did cancel it) and shipped back without our knowledge. Every other cabinet came with some sort of damage that we were left to repair after my husband had to drive to 2 hours each way to their terminal and pickup the last 2 cabinets (already weeks late). These 2 cabinets had non repairable door damage. We contacted Hampton Bay (owned by Home Depot) with pictures and they approved the claim. We were told 2 new doors would be shipped in 4-6 weeks. It's now well over 6 weeks and no replacements doors have arrived. My daughters new kitchen looks like hell. Upon calling today I was informed that they have no product and we were not getting anything. This is another outrageous lime because they are still available to order the same new cabinets on line. If I was able I would rip out all these cabinets and burn them in the Home Depot's parking lot. Every cabinet for this job arrived with some sort of damage. Unacceptable service. AVOID THIS PRODUCT AND THIS COMPANY. We spent thousands of dollars and every cabinet was late and damaged. Their customer service is a nightmare and this has been going on for 3 months. Job should have taken 4 or 5 days and it ended up at 6 weeks. We had to change flights back to Florida, extend our car rental, eat out as Kitchen was not able to be put back together with missing cabinets. I had to re-schedule work travel and the list of additional expenses and aggravation is too long to cover here.
They could care less, I sent linked in message to CEO Ted Decker and received no response. Big Surprise.

cabinets we were able to repair all but 2 and requested replacement doors which after reviewing damage picture they approve. They now state they no longer have the product which is a lie because they are still available to order new full cabinets on line.
UPDATE: After 15 months, being ghosted by 2 third party repair shops set up by Electrolux, 1 complaint to the BBB, 2 replacement fridges (1 being delivered with more damage than the original), we finally have a new fridge. The only mildly positive thing I have to say is that once my case was assigned to Executive *******@homedepot the person assigned to help was surprisingly helpful. Kevin helped coordinate between all the parties involved and followed up regularly with updates, if not for him I'm sure I would still be be banging my head into a wall.
If I could give Home Depot online less than a 1 star I would. We ordered a Frigidaire fridge online on December 2nd there were a few small parts that were damaged, I contacted them about the issue within 48 hours. One of the door trays and a shelf have cracks in them. The freezer also doesn't seal properly so frost builds up on the inside. It has been 6 months and I am still waiting for replacement parts. I have reached out to chat support, emailed their customer care, which I got a auto generated response saying that that mailbox isn't monitored, great customer care. Finally they sent a 3rd party in to assess the damage. He was nice but have now been waiting for over 3 months for replacement parts to arrive. I have never heard back from actual Home Depot on the issue. They do not care, they take your money and then are done with you. I would never order from them again and will actively tell everyone I know to never order from them again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't buy from them, go anywhere else.

There is a whole host of materials in here to quite literally create whatever you want in your home product.
I've never had a bad experience with ordering from Home Depot. Always on time, always what I ordered, and easy!
The employees are always helpful and friendly at Home Depot. Wish they would hire more help to assist the customers...
Website is great, people in store are great, but for some reason you have to check yourself out most of the time. Hence 4 stars instead of 5
This is a great site and they will actually match or beat price on dome big items: plus the check out is super easy even on my phone
I bought a dishwasher Apr 23/22 and was given a delivery date of Apr 30th. I booked the install thru their contractor. I got a call from home depot on the 28th stating the delivery co couldn't do it on 30th as they were too busy, but next Friday would work. I asked btwn 9 and 1? Answer was yes. I told lady that I already booked installer. Said no problem they would look after that. Got a call on May 4th to install dishwasher. Home depot did not call them.
Tonight I get a call fr their delivery co and my delivery time is btwn 1130 and 330. Doesn't work for me. Delivery co wants to know if I wish to cancel. Told them I would discuss with HD and not them. 45 mins btwn 3 calls on hold where twice I was hung up on. I called just a random number and lady took my name and phone number at 6:03 was told I would receive call in a few minutes when my salesperson was finished with his customer. That was an hour and 12 minutes ago...
Delivery co not interested in even trying to accommodate customer and HD not any help
This is for Home Depot Canada: it's not a one time off experience, but a long list of incidents that made me reconsider EVER buying from them again.
I recently changed my outdoor lights on the house, and did my research. On the HD website, one brand of light fixtures got rave reviews (5 star only). It was a bit more expensive (100$ per light), but I decided to buy 3 pieces, based on the reviews. Got home, had an electrician install them. Not even 2 weeks later, one was shattered on the ground from a light wind. Went on the HD website to 'Ask a question' about where to replace the glass (so I don't have to buy another new light), and here is my beef: HOME DEPOT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO POST OR ASK QUESTIONS THAT SHOW THAT A PRODUCT IS DEFECTIVE. In my case, this was a design flaw, and the company (Globe Electric) did not even bother to respond to an email. I TRIED TO PUT A ONE STAR REVIEW (based on this experience -I mean it's an OUTDOOR light, so is there no wind outside?!) - and I WAS UNABLE TO DO THAT. Bottom line: THE 5 STAR REVIEWS YOU SEE ON HOME DEPOT SHOULD NOT BE FOLLOWED. Because you cannot put a review that is less than 5*. This is misleading and what Home Depot calls 'MODERATING' is literally 'CENSORING'. I'm done with HD. Replacing my outdoor lights ended costing over 600$, the lights are made in China with a design flaw, and nobody from Home Depot or Globe Electric acknowledges this. BEWARE!
Tip for consumers:
The review ratings are a lie, because Home Depot does not allow you to post a negative review.

Home depot will not post my review of their carpet pad that they charge 125% more than menards! $375.00 for a roll at Home depot. $160 at menards same exact product. They offer free install, but if you realize how much they are ripping you off on the upcharge for the carpet and pad, it's should be criminal! Here is their reply to my review... SMH

Bought my beautiful double wide vanity and the white glove delivery. Guys were awesome. Vanity is drop dead gorgeous!
They have a lot of different things to look for and good prices on their products. Great service to.
I have ordered a few times from Home Depot. I received free shipping and the items were delivered quickly.
I usually go here first before the other large "competiton" for my supplies, b/c the brands are slightly better.
Better brands than Lowe's, usually good experience. I often have to take things back and it's painless and easy.
Very reliable in terms of after sale customer service. But you don't always get good products with good prices.
On July 6,2023, I purchased a GE refrigerator on line the Home Depot website. The site stated it was available and even set a delivery date of 7/11/23. My card was even charged. On 7/10/23, I received notification that the item was not available and a new delivery date was set, August 3rd. I call their Customer Care and the female rep stated that the date had been changed. I advised this was unacceptable, that if it wasnt available, I wouldnt have ordered it. She placed me on hold and after over 5 min, she came on and stated that the refrigerator could be delievered on 7/17/23. I accepted this. Three hours later, I received another message that it could not be delivered on 7/13/23 and the new delivery date was 8/3/23. I called again and a male rep stated that it was infact 8/3/23 and that the previous rep, should not have promised the 7/17/23 date, I expressed my unhappiness and he stated what do you want me to do about it. Do you just want to cancel the order. I stated, No. I want my refrigerator. He stated then it is Aug 3. On Aug 2, I again received notification that the refrigerator would not be delivered until 8/9/23, which thankfully it was. This was over one month on an item they showed as available. Plus all the problems with the customer service and promises. I dont believe I will ever buy another appliance through Home Depot. Their competitor had it, I found out later, and they stated they could get it out the next day. Very disappointed in Home Depot and it seems they dont care. Find an item at another place if you can

I don't really write reviews... let alone negative ones. But I've had such a bad experience with HomeDepot that it really should be written about.
In the spring I bought new appliances for almost $10,000. I also paid for the return of my old devices. The delivery was delayed until July - I didn't complain about that. I ordered and paid for my old appliances to be taken away. My old dishwasher was not taken away, and the amount paid in advance for taking it away was not refunded. Unfortunately, due to the general circumstances, I didn't come back to the US until October. In the meantime I decided, my new HomeDepot appliances should be installed. I had not booked this when placing the order. Now they suddenly came around the corner with a 30-day rule. I was only able to have my new appliances installed by HomeDepot within 30 days at a reasonable price. Regardless of the fact that I was not aware of a 30-day rule and that the seller did not point this out to me when I placed the order, they now asked me for an amount of around $700 for the installation of the devices. I would like to note that I wanted to book the order to install my new appliances 33 days after purchase. For me, this behavior is extremely customer-unfriendly and, in my opinion, does not correspond to the standard of a company like HomeDepot. After my return to the US in October, I have now taken care of my new appliances myself. Among other things, I had bought a dishwasher for almost $1,000. After unpacking the device, we found that the power cord was missing. I then ordered and paid for a power cord online. I wanted to pick up this cable directly from HomeDepot and was supposed to queue up in a queue of about 15 people... Sorry, I order and pay for this online so that I don't have to put up with such delays.
All in all, I regret to say that HomeDepot's customer service is anything but customer-friendly and customer-oriented. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this company based on my experience. That's why I only give one star.
I hate going into HD, they don't put much effort into their employees and it shows. It's better to buy online and pick up in store.
Quick easy and accessible to buy home improvement items. Online assistants too, to help with questions. I love it! Never have I had a bad experience.
Ordered a Christmas item from HD and did not like it at all. There were no questions asked, they simply returned it and refunded my purchase.
Sheet vynyl(linoleum) has traditionally been installed without glue, if you have a subfloor in good condition there is nothing else required. If it is a laundry room or kitchen you would want at the very least to tape the floor in the areas of heavy appliances so you dont damage the vynyl moving them. THER IS SELDOM ANY GOOD REASON TO USE GLUE OR AN UNDERLAYMENT. It in fact make the next install moe expensive and more difficult. If your glued down floor is damaged then you will need an underlayment. The solution is DONT USE GLUE. Home depot is requiring underlayment and glue when not needed for instance in my third bath which is a tiny sort of standard bath with aperfect subfloor. This allows them to bump the sell. The underlayment is more expensive than the vynyl and the glue charge was another 30.00 This more than doubled the cost of material and is not nessasary. I did not agree to this and people should start watching the details on flooring installs. You have been warned.
Tip for consumers:
The store blames corporate..corporate just sends you back to the store...then they blame the installer, the problem is the agreement they have it seems...so what it appears to be is they are allowing the installer to buffalo people??? As I said linoleum has been a loose lay for decades...all modulars and mobiles have a loose lay....I managed condos that had a loose lay....I have redone houses and the vynyl is always loose...glue and underlayment is not usually needed.

I was at home depot on s waverly today 5/30/22 and the service I get their was horrible. They had an isle blocked off for restocking a shelf. It was the plumbing isle. All I need was an 1/5' pipe of pvc. The guy looks at me and continues to unload. After waiting there 15 minutes another guy comes to help him. Shortly after that another employee passes me and asked me if I needed anything 'I said yea some pvc'. He asked the guy if could get the item. 'He said no' the other gentleman that was helping him asked me what I needed and I told him. It Took him 10 seconds to give me what I needed. The guy that told me no says to me ' I said hi to you' ' and I said no u didn't '. Long story short the home depot needs to train their people better on CUSTOMER SERVICE! I DON'T KNOW WHY THEY HAVE TO STOCK SHELVES IN THE MORNING! One would think that they would do this before customer's come in. At lowes they allow you to get whatever you need whenever you need it and they are more friendlier there also!
