My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
I ordered a combo *******@dryer on Nov 19,2021. Finally, I took a day off from school, I am a special education teacher, on Friday, Dec. 10,2021 and happily waiting for a new appliances. The truck came and 2 workers refused to bring it in my condominium. The stated that company sent 2 people instead of 3 and by the way they are not skillful to install. The associate with whom I was on the phone for 40 min, rescheduled delivery again but her notes did not went through the system. Never ever ever go to HomeDepot again. They are stealing your money, time, and health!

I hate to shop at Home depot!!!!
I placed a small order for 2 rolls of flat metal strips. My husband calls them plumbers tape/straps. They shipped us only one yet charged us for both. What a nightmare trying to get it resolved. When speaking with them you are connected to some call center in another country. SHAME on HD for not keeping jobs in the USA... after all we are the country that supports them. Anyways it was just a horrible experience, not help from HD, could hardly understand most of what they were saying. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card. In the future if I ever need anything from them I will walk in.
Unfortunately they tried to waive my delivery fee of $79, when all reality I lost $1000 plus the cost of the materials. So I am out $2000 because there was an issue with the delivery driver. Obviously you guys don't care about customer service or you wouldn't have such a low rating. I've spent thousands upon thousands of dollars with Home Depot. You've lost my business now good job!
Tip for consumers:
This place doesn’t care. Going to spend all my money with Lowes moving forward.

Never again
After 9 months and 3 appointments to get a floor install I was left with concrete floors. The last installer they sent just did not want to do the job. I received months of empty promises and now no one at customer care returns my phone calls.
Two issues. First one. Shopping in Home Depot. Saw Husky shelving. Made comment I can get 11% rebate from Menards. Store rep says they match Menards rebates. So I order online and pick up at HD. I find out later that you need to order in store for rebate. Sales person never mentioned this. I am out $50. It really is not a match of the Menards rebate program. It is a partial match.
Second issue. I bought two gallons of paint each with a $10 rebate. Saw that the rebate was processed three weeks ago. Card never came. Called HD. They said I needed to wait six weeks. It was Week 5 Day 5 and they would do nothing. Wanted me to call back. Ridiculous customer service.
Ordered doors to be delivered (2 plus thousand) and at the end of the day it was supposed to be delivered I received a text/email saying I missed my appointment. I called and assured the individual I took vacation and had a contractor line up to install. She I see the truck broke down we can reschedule two days out. I cancelled the order. I bought appliances to be delivered today 6/7/23 and was just notified the truck Brock down do I want them delivered on Friday. Statistically 2-orders same excuse and two wasted vacation days and fees. Home Depot certainly makes a great case for shopping at Lowe's. Wasted time and money with these folks. Customer Service is lacking and if your fleet of trucks are not reliable then make some changes.
Tip for consumers:
Shop elsewhere

They can’t deliver anything so I can’t answer this question.
After I spending several thousands of dollars, for remodeling my house, home depot refused to refund, or even give store credit for four items that were not used, still in original package, with original receipt, maybe less than two hundred dollars worth. Their reason was a consumer reporting agency called TRE makes the decision not to refund, exchange, or even store credit. Stay away from home depot, shop at lowe's better service and much better refund policy.
Lots of employees constantly walking around, but nobody can cut carpet and linoleum... I asked for assistance and was told: "It will be a minute; I am the only one here!" My thought: "Wow; I probably passed 20+ associates, on the way back here and none of them can/will help!?!" I waited and received no assistance; so I left without what would have been a couple thousand dollar purchase! I will go elsewhere from now on; for all my construction needs! I invest a lot of money into construction products and I feel like there is no customer appreciation! Clearly; there's no assistance!
Tip for consumers:
Go to a better company; whom will appreciate your business and assist you, rather than making you stand around waiting for some untrained employees to tell you they can't help you... Maybe you can get permission to cut your own product; although, I bet they don't allow that either!

Bought a bathtub and a surround walls for bathtub +6 boxes of laminate flooring not a one person helped to load items in pick up truck. No one even asked if we needed help. My husband and I are both in our 60s. This was at the Rockford Illinois location.
I was charged twice for the same thing and when I went to get my refund they wouldn't give it to me even though I had proof of the double charge on my debit card. This store has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, I will never shop with you guys again. Oh,hire a manager that cares about their customers because Nicole and her assistant don't and should be fired for the way I was treated! They kept blocking me when I asked for the store and district manager phone number, that's not how you treat customers and I will be sure to let everyone i know at the job site (which is right next store) to stop buying from this home depot.

If you buy something from HD and it needs to be delivered from Spirit Logistics? Don't do it! Worst company ever for delivering your merchandise! Terrible shipping company. Don't believe me? Go look at their reviews so you're better off hiring someone yourself to get it in a timely manner!
Awful, awful awful! They should be ashamed. Ordered lawn furniture in May, Was double, shipped, sent to the wrong address and the one we kept was damaged. Then we were promised a $300.00 refund, (in writing) which we have never gotten. The so called supervisors will not answer there phone or return our e-mails, Fighting it out with VISA right know. There is a reason why home depot is in the bottom 10 every year for customer service. Never again will I step foot in a home depot!
Ordered two patio chair covers from Home Depot. Shipment came in a large box, but contained only one cover. Phone calls to Home Depot "Customer Care" failed to resolve the issue. HD would NOT ship the missing item, and suggested I dispute the charge with my bank. This for a customer who regularly spends substantial amounts at Home Depot, including a $1700 refrigerator just last month. The item in question cost less than $30. HD spent more than that in not accepting responsibility for a missing item. I hate being driven away from a store I like, but that's what happened.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid ordering off the Internet website. If you have to order from Home Depot because there are no other home improvement stores in your area, better to shop in person, or go to Amazon.
Today, I had one of the best customer experiences ever.
Shelly Hurley at the 2650 W. Thunderbird Rd., Phoenix, AZ ******* store helped me fix an order that a past contractor of mine had completely screwed up.
And yes her expertise was invaluable.
But more importantly she was kind, compassionate, and customer-centric.
She made me feel valued as an individual customer.
She was so good that I decided I will now purchase my granite counter tops from Home Depot and more specifically from her even if they cost more than the company I was originally going to use.
So to be clear she treated me so well that I will not price compare on my future purchases that involve her and her department.
Thank you Shelly!
I am beyond angry! It's just an horrible experience. We bought a dishwasher at our local home depot in August 29. It got delivered sept 9. It took another 3 weeks of us calling them to ask about installation ( which we paid for). 1 guy came and said he could install anything because he could touch any plumbing item. Then we waited fir another 2 weeks calling them. Then another came who actually opened the delivered box. And guess what the dishwasher they delivered to us is BROKEN and has scratch... What is this? We are now in Nov 4. We still gave that useless box in the middle of our living room. I am so disappointed! It just add useless stress in my life. I wish I went to Lowes or on Amazon to buy that dishwasher!
For those complaining about delivery, this is why you have problems.
You dont tip the driver and or home depot does not allow tips. They dont have inhouse delivery, they use third parties like roadie, and walmart spark. Which are all 1099 contractors. You tip your waiter right? Well no one wants to deliver 20 bags of mulch and heavy equip and decor for 17+ miles for no tip and a base pay of 10$! So there you have it. Greed gets no one anywhere not even this billion dollar corporate money monsters.
Tip for consumers:
Tip the drivers.
I bought 4 appliances, all in stock, to be delivered 2 months out. 3 days prior, got notification 2 were no longer in stock (so evidently they gave mine to someone else) and unbelievably they could not deliver the two on time that were in stock. Even though they were already delivering a separate item that day. Said orders cannot be split. All had to be delivered together. What? That's crazy. I had been warned not to shop Home Depot for appliances. Guess I should have listened. Save yourself the stress, just go elsewhere to begin with.

They now require some form of ID, which they swipe, to return merchandise. So I no longer shop there. I am concerned about identify theft. I have decided to buy everything I can from Amazon.
They also did a horrible job with scheduling on an appliance before I stopped shopping there -- they scheduled at the one time I could not receive the product, then brought it broken. The delivery people also hung up on me when I said this was the one time I could not be home. Unbelievably poor choice of subcontractors.
I was trying to order a gift, but was told that they could not confirm my credit info. That didn't stop them from charging me $1. Three different times for a total of $3. Within a few minutes. Each charge went through, which proves my card was good. I sent an email to the company immediately, but no response. Spent $2 on a call to my bank (not an 800#) I may have to pay an additional $15. To replace my card. Home Depot needs to return my money. It's a small amount, but how many other people have they charged for nothing.
Above average prices, I shop at Menards instead normally 10 to 15% less for the products I buy. I will go to Lowes also because they are also less expensive than Home Depot but if money doesn't really matter to you and you just wanna buy from there. I do recommend Home Depot for all your shopping needs. I have been in HomeDepot several times and they do have a very clean well maintained store. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful however I personally don't shop there because of the price differences their competitors have. I have 3 kids and a wife I need my dollars to stretch.
Can't stand using homedepot.com, it doesn't work with the world's most popular internet browser. They've definitely lost sales. Only if I see a great deal, do I purchase from them, but I have to open up internet explorer to do so.
Home depot stores get a 4star from me, their website, 1.
Carefully check any wood that is tongue and grooved mostly the beveled I believe in my 40 years in wood business material quality has gone down but the price of course as gone way high I have to run a router and make the grove the same been better off buying from a hometown saw mill will now on
Tip for consumers:
Take time which I know cost time for buyers to make sure boards fit together like they should specially if spending hundreds of dollars on it

I will always find good deals here at Home Depot. Basically most of what i usually need is under one roof. Getting help and getting my questions answered is normally a breeze although sometimes I run into the opposite but luckily this is rare.
Not sure if home depot girl ordered but we got the WRONG SIZE and had to drill another anchor hole in it to stay on... what crap... not worth trying to get you to replace. Shipping was as much as replacement part... never again...
Ordered a wheelbarrow for home delivery. They brought the wrong one(I was not home). Contacted customer service and they can't bring me what I ordered, they can only pick the wrong one up. Who would have thought such a simple order would be so screwed up. They picked it up and now a week later I haven't received a refund. I have to open a PayPal dispute. They are literally stealing a hundred dollars from me.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t use home delivery. If you need to return do it in person.
