My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
This generator was easy to set up and starts very easy. Can't wait to hook up to my transfer switch when power goes ot

This company does NOT CARE about its customers, in any way shape or form. I used to only purchase items from Home Depot but I will never set foot in their store again. You cannot get ahold of any person through the phone system... just routed and re-routed through an endless web of automated system. No matter what you choose... it is just more and more automated until you are finally hung up on. I ordered a large appliance online... with a delivery date of May 26th... here we are... no contact from them... no idea when the item is coming... Not being able to contact anyone over the phone... I start poking around online only to find... my delivery date (without ANY notification) has been changed to June 26th! After waiting a month just to get here already! June doesnt work for me! So I ended up cancelling my order - I am angry that I could have already made a purchase elsewhere by now! This was COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! And I am pissed off! BUYERS BEWARE: DO NOT ORDER ANY APPLIANCE ONLINE FROM HOME DEPOT! - You do not need the headaches! WORST BUSINESS EVER! My family will take their business elsewhere... as well as anyone else I can get to listen to me.
Home Depot's website engages in repeated survey spam by default.
You must enter an email address if you pre-order a product for pickup at a store. That's reasonable and necessary for Home Depot to keep you informed about the status of your pre-order. After the purchase is complete and you have the item, they send an email request for you to fill out a survey. That's reasonable but not necessary. Some people like filling out surveys. There's the tiny chance of winning some cash prize, but I didn't care. I deleted the survey request.
Then a few days or maybe a week later, they emailed the same survey request a second time. I deleted it. Then they sent a third and fourth survey request and maybe more.
Yes, under the old CAN-SPAM act, I could and eventually did deselect myself from all Home Depot emails. I waited until the fifth or sixth time because the easiest thing to make an email go away in the short term is to hit delete, and I didn't expect to find the same stinking email appear in my inbox again and again later because I still have the naivete to think that the IT professionals at and CIO of Home Depot might have the social decency of shutting the hell up when another person says no to your survey spam the first and the second time.
The CIO of Home Depot is Matthew A. Carey, and, according to his profile at Business Week he "has decades of experience in information technology, corporate strategy and best practices across complex organizations." Perhaps, thanks to Mr Carey and Home Depot, shareholders will soon regard opting in to repeated survey-spam by default as a best practice for corporations like Home Depot to maximize feedback obtained from consumers like me. Maybe this has already happened. I usually try to buy from mom-and-pop stores or Amazon because they seem to have the decency that Mr Carey's organization lacks.
**This is written on the day of the scheduled pickup date for my order. At the time of writing, I do not have my item in possession.
After reading reviews on mini fridges by NYT, I tried to place an order on Home Depot's website for a Magic Chef Retro 3.1 cu. Ft Mini Fridge that was $100 off. The promotion was only available for ship-to-store/in-store orders. MYSTERIOUSLY, EVERY store (I tried every store within 40 miles) showed the $100 promo EXCEPT the one that was 1 mile from my house.
After contacting Home Depot, I was told it was probably just a store credit card promotion—it was NOT.
I placed a ship-to-store order for pickup at a store 11 miles away, with the promotion (for $179 plus tax). The scheduled pickup date was June 29.
I contacted Home Depot the second time via text (their preferred method) asking if somehow the price discrepancy was a glitch in their system. I was told that their IT would be notified.
On the day of pickup, I had to add a different person to pick up the fridge, so I called Home Depot's customer service. After that was done, I asked about the weird price differences since the store nearest to me was "singled out" and "excluded" from the promotion. I was assured that it was NOT a glitch but simply how Hone Depot runs its promotions. Therefore, there was no need to "look into it."
At 4 pm of the pickup day (now), the order still showed the same schedule even though it was still not delivered to the store. I really needed the fridge to be delivered by the date they promised, so guess what, I called the store, my FORTH contact with Home Depot customer services.
The store employee told me the order had not been delivered to the store yet. Even if it was delivered today, I would likely not be able to pick it up until the next day or the day after. If that was the case, why was the scheduled pickup date remained the same on my account page?
I have never had an experience like this—the pickup date a store quoted me could mean two days after the quoted date. What?
I will not buy from Home Depot again.
Tip for consumers:
It’s extremely difficult to get consistent answers from Hone Depot’s customer service representatives, including certain store employees.

Home Depot only takes positive reviews on itz website. If you provide any negative reviews they reject
Great return policy and we just built a new house and found a lot of great up to date items with high quality at home depot
Made a purchase online to pick up at store. Received 3 receipts showing the amount of the charge. Received credit card invoice and was charged more than the receipts showed. Spent ONE HOUR making 4 phone calls. Their 800 Customer Support line made me answer a survey about the service I just received after I was on hold for 18 mins then hung up on me. Called back, hung up after 15 mins with no one answering. The intro tells me my wait time is appx 3 minutes. Called the store where I picked up the order. Had to redial 4 times. First call on hold for 12 minutes, second call no answer at all for 16 mins, third call to Pro Dept went unanswered for 8 minutes, last call waited through phone ringing for 12 minutes, Operator was rude, was connected to store Manager. He helped but had no explanation about the discrepancy or how that would happen. He offered to call the 800 number because it was an Online sale. Told him he and I would solve it right there on the line because I was not going to wait anymore and would simply report it as fraudulent if we did fix it now. Last call took 22 minutes. THEY DON'T WANT TO HELP YOU... IF YOU BUY FROM THEM, DON'T DO IT ONLINE. AND NEVER NEVER EXPECT THEM TO HELP YOU... IT IS NOT THEIR POLICY.
Ordered a large bathroom mirror from Home Depot in early July. They told it'd arrive July 27. I couldn't wait that long so I canceled the ordered. I then got an email stating my order had shipped. I called and they told me I'd just have to take the shipment and then call for a return order. I got the shipment 7 days earlier (luckily I was home). I called as soon as I got the shipment to start a return order. I was told a third party called NSD would contact me to set up a return pick up. They never called. I contacted NSD with no luck. The next day I contacted Home Depot and spent a half hour on the phone. I finally got an email from someone at NSD who said they'd contact me the next day between 8am-12pm to pick up my package. They never came. I contacted NSD with no luck again. I called Home Depot and got ahold of a supervisor after a half hour. I had to repeat the same story to the supervisor who is supposedly trying to get ahold of NSD because this is the only carrier that can pick up my order. As of the time of this writing I have been on the phone for almost an hour. The supervisor has told me they are now trying to get ahold of the driver.
We recently went into Home Depot to purchase a washer and dryer. When asked if we had and gas or electric hookup, we stated we unaware of the type of hook up we had, which we repeatedly told Cristal we weren't sure if we had an electric or gas and we were not shown what the difference was and which out any confirmation the order proceeded to be placed. Once it was delivered the delivery guy told us we had a gas dryer and we're receiving an electric dryer (we were told we could refuse if the appliances were damaged or defective. We were unaware we could have refused the delivery if the wrong item is ordered. It wasn't until I went in to the store the same day as I was once informed you could refuse if it is the type of dryer as well once I went in to get help by Sylvia) if I had known this information previously I would have definitely refused the order. We spoke to Kirsten the appliance supervisor who was VERY VERY unhelpful and on top of being unhelpful was really Rude! We've offered to pay the restocking fee and purchase the new gas dryer through them and she didn't want to hear anything we had to say. So much for customer service! If you need help purchasing appliance I will NEVER recommend this The Home Depot ever again!

If I could give less than 1 star I would. DEALING WITH HOME DEPOT HAS BEEN A NIGHT MARE! I wish I looked at reviews before ordering with them. If you are going to buy items from the store that is one thing but online ordering is A NIGHTMARE. I originally placed an order for pickup, when i went to the store (PLYMOUTH MEETING) to pick up the items, they told me "they had the order for 2 days but it was too large that no one wanted to do it" - The response was lazy an unprofessional. The supervisor told me they would get the items delivered for free for the inconvenience but when I called they had no record of this. I then replaced the order for delivery on July 6th and it is now July 28th and I am still waiting on items. I call every single day and every day they tell me "the items will be there tomorrow" but they don't come or some items come and not others. This is holding up my job. I tried to reorder a few items for pickup to keep the job moving and it happened AGAIN. They had no record of my pickup order even though I had confirmation. Customer service & the stores do not communicate and are useless. They will put you on hold for 40 minutes and come back with NO RESOLUTION and no compensation offer. I WILL NEVER DEAL WITH THESE PEOPLE AGAIN. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SHOP AT LOWES. YOU WILL REGRET ORDERING WITH HOME DEPOT.

Bought the storehouse drill and had battery issues. Would not return without warranty so I had to buy a new battery.
2.5 hours standing in line to pick up box that had 2 missing parts. Store has will not pick up phone
I got a great deal on my refrigerator. Actually a good price on the entire kitchen suite which arrived this week
We recently just fixed the entire inside of our house and we used home depot all the time. It's very affordable
I bought a refrigerator, told Bob the water line needed a valve added.
"No problem ", he said. Added a waterline but neglected to add a valve or schedule a plumber……Frig arrives, one guy wants to leave it so when we figure out why nobody contacted one, we could be done……. I called and "Don" no last name given, blamed me for not ordering a plumber. Even though it is H. D. Who schedule that…… He was dismissive, rude, belligerent. Basically a terrible customer service person…. We are elderly, not able to hop in a car and run out to McDonalds, we need a FRIG…. After I got their plumber lined up for tomorrow, Don called to tell me I can't get my frig back for 5 more days! WOW. I asked the delivery guys to leave it, but they wouldn't because they wanted the $30 for frig removal of the broken one……This gets better…… Now, the store appliance manager says they ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DELIVER IT UNTIL THE PLUMBER FIXES THE VALVE……. Really, doesn't anyone understand I actually own it!……. Be very carful. Especially if you are a woman. Don has a real problem talking to us as equals!
Tip for consumers:
Go to Lowes or a local appliance store if you can. Home Depot employees,in the stores, have forgotten that we are the people that pay their salaries.
I know it’s hard work but, OWN IT if you make a mistake, don’t blame the customer. If you need more employees to cover the floor, tell management or else nothing changes.
I like to shop here as the place carries every type of home repair tool, gadget, etc one needs. I just wish the place was dusted every so often.
Great place to buy items for home improvement. The employees in our local store are very polite and helpful. The price are reasonable and affordable
Bought a laundry tower and arrange it to be delivered on January 10, and the installation and hauling the old one, was to be done the next day. So, here I was waiting all day for them to no show up, when calling customer service, they informed me, that the delivery was change to the following day. I told them that they never contacted me to do the change and the delivery can't be done said day and to move it to the following week. The installer called to confirm the delivery and told them they didn't deliver it and arrange the installation the next day.
Deliver went well now the installer called to say he was to arrive 25 minutes later. 10 minutes later he called to know what kind of appliances they would haul out. Told him the kind off the old appliance and right there and there, he said he can not do it by himself and has to be done by 2 peoples.
The contractors from home depot call me to arrange a new time and day. When I ask them if they are confirming that they have to haul the old one, surprise, surprise. They say that they don't have that order. The order is only for installation.
Again calling customer service to have them clarify and confirm the installation and the hauling.
The representative told me that there was a note on my account that I was rude.
News to Home Depot, if you disrespected me and been rude to me by no respecting the agreement, not contact me before or after changing orders and cancelling 10 minutes before showing up. You bet that I'm going to talk loud and be rude to you.
Is almost a month since I purchase the Laundry tower and is seating in the middle of my place.
Please, if you need appliances, shop somewhere else

Do not purchase appliances and services from them

Got to the store fast and the product was exactly what I was expecting! Material was softer than it looked. Will definitely be ordering again.
Due to a lack of in-store choices on a replacement sink for our powder room, we had to order one online. The one my husband chose with a very nice design to it was not inexpensive and there was NO indication that this sink would not fit into a "normal home powder room". Even in reading the specs, there was nothing that led us to believe that this sink sat so close to the wall that the current plumbing would not fit into it correctly. The main pipe coming into it would have to be cut down to fit properly and the drain stopper both rubbed on the inside and dug into the wall behind it. After paying for the plumber to start installing this, we decided there were too many issues with it and had to have him come back to un-install this one and install the replacement we found. I contacted Home Depot to let them know of the issues and suggesting that the proper thing for them to do would be to send out an installer, for this 2nd one, at no cost to us. They refused. Then I suggested they pay the very low cost of our plumber for the re-install, and they still refused. The person that I was in contact with seemed to NOT care in the least about their customer relations or trying to make the situation right, even though this was caused by their website not having a full, proper description of the item. On other sites, they clearly state the sinks are "small', or "tiny" or "full size", etc. Home Depot had no such words in the description and since the cost of this was more than many others, we had no reason to believe it may not fit in our small powder room. The least Home Depot should have done to make this right was somehow cover the re-install. We had to pay twice for their inaccurate website information.
Tip for consumers:
Don't trust Home Depot's website descriptions. Totally inaccurate and they won't help you if you have an issue with an ordered item!

Great to shop for everything you want without looking for it in the store. Just pull up and pick up!
The Kenner, Louisiana Management needs training on how to greet customers, handle complaints, answer phones, and run the store efficiently. They are sorely lacking in the skills to efficiently run the store. They don't understand their own policies, won't acknowledge customer complaints, and are too lazy to walk the departments and see the many issues. So many items are sitting in top stock while shelves are bare for weeks. Do departments not restock? Signage is completely wrong. The prices never match what they ring up for. It took over an hour to get a manager to fix a price at check out. Why is there no front end manager on duty at all times? The receipts say 90 day return policy but the managers quote 30 days. Not a single person in the entire store could explain this. Even corporate! She saw the 90 day on my receipt and agreed with me at first but couldn't get the store manager to answer when she called there. Corporate tries to quote their website about the return policy and stated an item can not be returned if a store credit was used to purchase. (I had a $8 credit towards an over $350 purchase. Why would this exclude my purchases from being able to be returned?! This is absurd!) However this is not what the website says. It says store credit should be given instead. Does anyone working at Home Depot have any clue how to run the store? The Home Depot in Kenner desperately needs help. Tried calling corporate for help but she didn't even know the correct policies and said a supervisor would have to call me because she couldn't get one to answer. Big surprise…. Oh, and she said employees other than the manager wouldn't know the return policies on an item because only a manger has access to some computer info. I asked her how I as a customer would be expected to know all the policies if the employees weren't expected to. She said she didn't know. Home Depot makes things up as they feel the need to benefit themselves and don't care about the customers. I refuse to step foot in their stores again and I suggest anyone else thinking about doing so should go to Lowes instead. Lowes teaches their employees to greet their customers and try to help them instead of ignoring them like Home Depot.
Tip for consumers:
Home Depot does not stand by their return policy. If you use a store credit or gift card to buy an item they told me it excludes the item being able to be returned. Even if your receipt says you have 90 days to return an item, Home Depot can later tell you it is only 30.
