My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
I bought a new gas range from Whirlpool from Home Depot Online (Order WP*******); The range was delivered on time but the technician who installed only tested the burners and not the oven. When I used it for the first time, there was a strong smell of gas and the temperature never rose above 100 degrees. I called Home Depot after 5 days to report the bad installation and lack of quality assurance, but they only cover issues reported <48 hours, and asked me to contact Whirlpool. Really... a $1000 purchase and it's up to me to figure out with Whirlpool what is the problem and get this fixed. Whirlpool client service is even worse but I did not buy from Whirlpool... Home Depot will abandon you! You are on your own, beware... It's actually like Amazon though you often get 30 days warranty with Amazon, only 2 days with Home Depot

Ordered a dishwasher, took my money, showed delivery date and everything. Then day of delivery Bel tells me they can not deliver the dishwash and I have to wait for 48 - 72 hrs for a refund. I will never do business with Home Depot again
August 4 I purchased a shower door for a rental property. The price I paid included measuring and installing the door.
On August 6, they were asked to take measurements... this did not happen until September 29... It is now October 24 and still not date to get door actually installed.
I will never prepay Home Depot for anything that includes their services.
Lots of other places that want business now, so pass on HD.
I had ordered a dishwasher 3 weeks ago and had it scheduled to be delivered today between 7:00-11:00, took the day off and had an electrician scheduled to arrive this afternoon to install it. At 2:30 I got a voicemail letting me know they rescheduled the delivery for 10 days later! Ow I am trying to call their 1-800 number and needless to say it is impossible to get hold of anyone. I will NEVER order an appliance from Home Depot again. Horrible customer service.
I submitted my rebate and its pushing almost 2 months since. Still haven't received it. I called the rebate center, talked to someone who barely spoke English. He still couldn't tell me that it has been mailed. Just to expect it with in two weeks. Not happy about this.
The order came as was promised, but when the appliance did not work well there was no support. The person on the phone was extremely nice, but let me know that the only thing I could do is call the manufacturer. I honestly just wanted to exchange it for a higher end model, but that is not a possibility. The manufacturer can send a repairman, but that is the best anyone can do. I have seen people return completely dead plants, used sprinkler heads and pvc pipes, cut lumber and opened boxes of fasteners to Home Depot. But an appliance is non returnable or exchangeable for any reason. A lesson well, but painfully and expensively, learned: Do Not purchase appliances from Home Depot!
Knock, knock. Who's there? Not your Home Depot order!
Order something and they will print a shipping label, but never actually ship it. You can call and tell them this, but they will refuse to do anything for a couple of days AFTER your estimated delivery date. Then they will say the "only option" is to cancel the ordiginal order and re-buy everything again. And wait for another several days with no expediting, no discounts for their mess up, and now you have paid for your order TWICE and you have to wait several days for your refund to be processed and returned to you.
This has happened to me more than once, but will not happen again as after this purchase arrives I will avoid ever buying anything from here again.
Tip for consumers:
Dont. Just don't buy anything from them online. If you have to, watch the tracking number and if it does not show it was ever picked up from Home Depot, just keep calling. They wont do anything, but at least you can have a record of how you tried to stay on top of it for the complaint you will eventually file. Also, try to have good humor for your own sanity.

I ordered pavers for a client. They delivered to the wrong house, blocking the person from getting out of the driveway. When I called Home Depot Sherry the "lead" said the driver said he delivered to the right address despite me offering the phone number of the guy that was totally inconvenienced. We went to the house where the delivery was wrong and moved by hand all the pavers to the right address. Home Depot did not offer to compensate my labor charges for their mistake. I will never order from Home Depot again for my clients. I can't imagine running a business where you just dump your product on someone's driveway by mistake and then saying you didn't when I have proof you did.
Tip for consumers:
I cancelled a future order and will never be back.
Horrible customer service! I was supposed to have a washer and dryer delivered today. I had the delivery scheduled between 1-5. They were supposed to call a half an hour beforehand. They called at 7:00 to let me know they weren't going to be able to make it. Thanks because we took the day off of work! I will NEVER again purchase anything from this store!
Always buy my tools here and not at the other guys. You should always buy an extended warranty if you plan on using all summer to build with. I have had two drills go out on me but thanks to me buying the warranty they replaced them with no problem.
We are in the process of an entire remodel of our kitchen including cabinets, appliances, flooring and countertops. We had a wonderful experience with the kitchen designer at Home Depot and because he was so professional and knowledgeable, we chose Home Depot over 2 other places we had obtained estimates. Unfortunately our experience with their installers has been horrible. We ended up firing the installers and hiring our own contractor to do the installation.
Cabinets were ordered on 5-30-17, it is now 7-18-17 and the cabinets are still not installed, they have been sitting in my dining room for 12 days now, we pushed off the appliance delivery until today anticipating the project managers incompetence and we still didn't have an install date as of this morning.
As they say, buyer beware!
I ordered a 38 in. X 81 in. Glass Sliding Barn Door with Hardware Kit by Pinecroft on July 24. Order was processed on July 25. The item was supposed to be delivered to the Lake Worth store today. System still shows it being delivered today. CSR told me to wait another day or 2. I suggested he find out from the shipper where my order was. He came back and told me that the shipper indicated it will not be in Lake Worth until Wed. Of next week. I expressed my unhappiness with that and requested I would like to speak to a supervisor. 50 minutes later while he is transferring me, we get disconnected. I waited for 90 minutes to see if anyone would actually call me back. NOTHING. I am now on hold with another rep that is telling me the lines are really busy and they have no idea how long it will take to get a manager. I should have bought this from Amazon. Three and a half weeks to get an item? Not one apology yet either. Totally annoyed!
Ordered a colored shower pan, took twice as long to get it as they said, when it came in, no one called me - ever! Had to just check in person every couple of days. Being on hold on the phone was ridiculous! Bought a kitchen sink, it cracked after 5 mos. Had to buy another, it cracked after 2 weeks. Home Depot said return it to the mfgr. No help. Even didn't believe that I didn't cause the cracks. Turns out on line hundreds of these sinks have cracked. HD still sells them.
I ordered some hand tools online. I received an email to drive to another town for pickup. Arrived and they said sorry the arrival date was moved back. I received an email to pick it up! I also ordered a counter top. It was supposed to arrive a few days ago. They finally updated the arrival status and moved it out another two weeks. They seriously need to address these issues!
Tip for consumers:
If possible order from someone with better customer service. Always check reviews on a company before ordering!

I pass my store credit to my son with pin number, but he can not use it in Home Depot because its policy. Since then, I do not want shopping with Home Depot. The price in Walmart, local stores and online is even better.
Well home depot really is the only real hardware store left these days... well them and lowes, but I find home depot still has a better selection. Always priced good too. Only problem i have sometimes... their isles could be a little better organized.
I can shop for the little items too (which can be very hard to find inside the store.)
The only improvement I would suggest, is that they show all previous items ordered, for quick re-order.
If I order online, it usually ships relatively fast.
I rented a truck from steelyard home Depot Steelyard Commons, 3355 Steelyard Dr, Cleveland, OH *******. They advertise $19.99 but failed to mention the $5 charge for every 15 minutes after the first hour. Don't forget your gas receipt, it's another $126.00 without it. I love Home Depot, but this is ridiculous.
They killed my cat installating a washing machine. I can't get the image out of my head. I've been crying for three days. Sweetest cat you ever will come across. I can't believe it. I'll never use them again. Just in time for Christmas.
The promise to price match requires so much information to be provided by the buyer it takes forever. Plus 4 calls. The first three cut me off.
Manager did not help, would not help.
All for a 9% price difference
The Home Depot gets worse and worse
Do not order appliances here if you actually want appliances. Look, I know everywhere is having shortages, especially on freezers. But I purchased a dishwasher and oven back in June, and still don't have them. I think I am now on my 6th delivery date. At one point, I even had to purchase a different, more expensive oven as I was told (2-3 months after purchase) the other was no longer available, ever. Well apparently this one isn't either. My newest delivery date is November 20th. More than 5 months after purchase, and has Home Depot tried to make any amends? Nope, they just sit on my cash using it while I have nothing. Not one apology and their phone system is terrible. At least if I'd gone to a smaller business, they would care about my business, and give me real answers and real delivery dates.
After spending $30,000.00 they stuck me with a washing machine we are very unhappy with. Just FYI if you buy any appliance from Home Depot you only have 48 hours to return it for any reason! We bought a Samsung washing machine from them and we hate it! The wash cycles are over an hour,. The clothes come out dirty and with soap residue on them, and overall would like to exchange this for anything else. Beware of buying any top loader washer without an agitator. The mechanical action, very important element to get clothes clean, is minimal. I believe this is why the wash cycles are so long as with diminished mechanical action the try to make up for this by adding a lot of extra time to the wash cycle. Also you have no control over the water levels so often the clothes are not completely covers by the water level. My advice is do not buy a Samsung top loading washing machine and think twice before buying any appliance from Home Depot!
Well, we bought a 5.0 cf deep freezer on sale about a week ago. Got it to the house and finally brought it into the basement today and took it out of the box. It went from the store to the van, then it was in the van all week, still in the box, until I finally got up the energy to unload and install. Guess what. The thing is damaged. It looks exactly like a corner got crushed by stacking and moving it around the floor with a fork lift. I just looked at their website, and they have a policy that totally gets them off the hook for this damaged item. I was apparently supposed to inspect it within 48 hours of purchase. So, now I am just hoping the darn seal still works because there's really no point in trying to return it now. NOT a happy customer. Ugh. Not happy at ALL.
Tip for consumers:
Open and inspect before leaving the store.

We will see if it works or not. Otherwise, it will be going right from the box to the dump. What a freakin' waste. I'll probably have to pay another $20-30 just to dispose of the stupid thing, too.
I bought and paid for with cash, a new freezer from Home Depot in Marble Falls. TX, on 6/15/2020. With a promise of delivery by 1st week in July. Two days before delivery date I was told its now 2 months before I may get it. I could have used that money for a lot of other things. I keep being told it was not Home Depots Fault... Well Thats Bull! They took my cash and promised a delivery and now They postponed it. Its Home Depots Fault!
I have placed two major orders from Home Depot this year. Both times, they promised a certain delivery date and then reneged at the last minute. And I had spent hours on the phone with them trying to determine when my order would arrive. Their customer service is garbage. I just canceled my second major order yesterday when they failed to deliver my product and ordered it from another company instead.
Please avoid Home Depot like the plague.
