My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
Home Depot lies to veterans. They "claim" to give veterans a discount to get you in the door but they do not actually give the discount. My husband, a veteran, and I drove 2 hours each way to the Iron Mountain, MI store to get an expensive lawn mower. The manager, John, said he would not give the discount to him because he does not have a smart phone. My husband and I both have Consumer Cellular flip phones. My husband is an honorable, decent man who served out country and Home Depot lies to our veterans, to get them in the door, by promising a discount which they do not give to you if you don't have an expensive smart phone. SHAMEFUL! All veterans and those who love and care about them should boycott this chain. We will not be going back.
If you've ever shopped or are thinking of shopping at their store you will find their atmosphere nice! They have an orderly clean store and they have clerks who will help you if you need their assistance but they won't pester you to death. Their prices are reasonable and even competitive and you will get a good product if you purchase from them. They have a tool rental service so if you need something but don't want to purchase chances are you can rent it!
We try to return the flower buds we purchase that don't hands in there. The package was opened by us and no buds inside, but customer service will not accept its.

I went to the appliance department and a clerk ordered a stove top grate for me, and I paid $135 for it using a credit card. The grate was to be delivered to my home in a couple weeks. She tried six printers and none of them was able to print me a receipt. I waited for over half an hour, and finally she came back with a receipt. Six printers, and none of them are working? Ridiculousness. A waste of my time.
Your employee named Gareth in the plumbing department was a big help in finding what I needed for a home project. He was very patient and informed as to what I needed and I really appreciated his advice and assistance.
I am 72 years old and sometimes I need help with heavy items. Its been a very long time since this store offered any assistance. Also, I was in there a few days ago and did not bring my card and all the self help registers are set up for card only so I went in search of a register to make my purchase. Only one register was open and it was in the contractor section with a huge line reaching into the mid store area. So if I wanted to pay cash for my purchase I was going to have to stand in a line full of contractors making large purchases along with other customers that were forced to use this means of checking out with their purchases. I wonder how many other customers abandoned their purchase and left the store that day. Not a good way to do business Home Depot! Ohyeah, and do not blame that kind of incomprtance on Covid because I am getting tired of hearing that excuse.
Tip for consumers:
Do not expect to talk to anyone at that store that is very knowledgeable of the item they sell. And do not expect any offers of help with your purchased items.
Location Crestwood, Birmingham. After my assault, the store manager, Mr. Holiness did not assure me that this would be a safe store for me to come back to. The woman at the helpdesk was much better. The assault happened in the store with the Cashiers looking on in Gardening. A customer first verbally harassed me out of nowhere and it escalated into physical violence. The manager heard my part of the story. I called the police. After the policeman left the manager was gone. I was surprised they didn't speak to me to assure me that it wouldn't happen again, that they want customers to feel safe in his store. They didn't even speak to the Cashier who witnessed it. I mentioned this to the manager and they said it was out of my hands after I talked to the police. I will have to go to another one that is 10 minutes farther.

I have to wait an extended period of time for double vanity that's comes in totally destroyed flipped over laying face down in the delivery truck. I was told it could take upto a week to pick it up and once returned they can issue a refund. So now it will be a 4-5 week process to get a vanity and now the one purchased is put on backorder. I spoke to a gentlemen at customer care that told me to bad it's the process I will get my funds back when it is returned per trucking conpany.
I don't know the name of the individual, but he delivered our dishwasher yesterday the 3rd of Aug. To our Boise home. He was polite and very professional. He answered all our questions and the set up went without a hitch. Thank you so much for your professional service. Vincent
Horrible customer service. We received damaged product and didn't realize right away. Customer service said its wasn't a normal 90 days it was only 48 hours to inspect but then contradicted herself and said we needed to open right away and refuse delivery if it was damaged. Delivery drivers did not relay that we needed to inspect the product before they left. They just left. So when i called for help we were placed on hold. They promised to call back and never did. We had to call back to try and get some answers. They said it's not their problem and there was nothing that could be done. We spent over $5000 on new appliances and we will NEVER again. We are cutting up our store credit card and wont be back.
If I could give zero stars I would. Home Depot dropped my credit limit from 20k to 5 k because I hadn't used my card for a while. I called to get it updated back to 20k as I will soon be remodeling my home. The told me they cannot do so without re-running my credit, which will add an inquiry to my credit report (I have a perfect score). I advised I don't want to add an inquiry to my credit report and they told me there's nothing they can do. I've had an account with them for 16 years and this is how they treat a great customer who has spent 10's of thousands of dollars with perfect on time payments? I never shop anywhere else but I'll tell you from this day forward I'll do my shopping at Lowes.
If I could put less stars down I would Home depo have lazy incompetent staff who hire out faulty equipment that you can't use and have no interest in fixing the problem.
We payed $280 to hire gear we couldn't use and now have to hire a person to do the job.
Waste of time and money do not use home depo for equipment hire they do not know what they are doing.
Hired a pressure washer.
Got home started using to find broken part.
Went back to replace the broken part only to find the next day that one was broken as well.
They still charged us $280 for broken kit we couldn't use.

My family ordered a new LG washer and dryer from Home Depot in Temple, TX. The 1st delivery, they bounced them around so much they did not start up. The 2nd set when delivered they plugged into the wrong outlet and burned both of the Mother boards so they would not work. The 3rd set delivered the dryer would not work. So they took back both. It took over a month to get credit so we could order something different. Once we got on the phone complaining they finally got the credit added to our account. We then ordered a Samsung washer and dryer. We waited 2 weeks for the delivery to find out they lost the order, now we have to wait two more weeks. I do not know, why this is so complicated but I would not recommend ordering from the Temple Home Depot location. TERRIBLE!

I went to their South Provo store to buy a Christmas tree. They had quite a few to choose from. I found one I like, but, no one was outside that could help me. So, i went inside and asked a person at their customer service desk, who quickly paged someone to help. They were helping someone else and said he'd be over as soon as he finished with her. I was good with waiting, After he finished with the person he was waiting on, he helped another person, and then, helped someone else, and on, and on. 20 minutes after he helped the first person, I left. I'll try again tomorrow, only I'll go somewhere else.
Went to Lowes to buy a door for my shed and the place was a wreck and very unorganized. Left their and went to HD and even the shopping carts were put in order. Help was great and door worked out perfect. Thank you
I have been waiting for 40 minutes to get a grill nobody seems to know who can unlock it, twice now I was told to wait near the grills somebody would be there and nobody shows up, this is ridiculous and I am leaving and going to Lowe's.
Home depot customer service socks. Everybody is trying to be the boss. Specially in customer service some weird new ly hired interns with bul$#*! attitude trying to put you instead of helping you.

I went to Home Depot to get some paint for my deck I gave them the square footage I was told it would take 3 gals paint. I painted and ended up with a gal and 1/2 left over. I tried to return the one full gal I had left for 42.00 and was told no refund. I asked why I was sold so much paint do they not know how to calculate the area? Manager cindy said it was the consumers responsibility to figure it out. I ask what the paint personal did she said they just mix the paint. I thought the store personal was trained on how to sell the paint for customers. I think they are trying to oversell paint. I cut up my credit card there and will never shop there again. I in the last 2 years have spent over 6000. 00, at that store no more.

The Home Depot not taking responsibility on installation services provided by their subcontractors. Installed roof has been leaking from the first year after installation, had been fixed and has been leaking again on the same spot next year, had been fixed and has another leakage week later, and another week later and so on up until they decide to install something had been forgotten to install on time of original installation. All this about The Home Depot in Canada. They are refusing to fix damages occurred as a result of leakage and also refuse to remove the roof and refund the customer. Very poor service for a very expensive price, never go with The Home Depot.
Home Depot employs the best customer service in the industry. I have trouble finding things there from time to time and every time there is someone willing and eager to point me in the right direction!
I love the automated self-checkout. Someone is always there to assist you, should the need arise. I was looking for a product in there the other day & all the workers restocking the shelves were pleasant & very helpful.
Who I did not care for was the "floor" manager. She talked to me like I was one of the workers in the store (in an unkind tone, like a drill sergeant standing with a whip over the workers to make sure they weren't slacking). You know, the thing is the workers were not doing anything wrong.
Floor manager needs to go. One of the workers restocking the shelves would be a far better candidate.
I ordered a toilet from homedepot.com. It came to my house completely broken and incomplete. I brought this heavy item to the store and it was reordered to be delivered to the store. So, it arrived incomplete, then it arrived incomplete and broken, then incomplete, then incomplete and broken. 5 TIMES! It continues for more than a month now and I still don't have that toilet! And when I spoke to Customer service they basically did not offer any good solution! THE WORST!
Home Depo is the worst company that could every exist. Everything about Home Depo screams idiocy. You can tell that the company is bad because they made a typo in Depo (they spelled it Depot how dumb) and they kept it in! Shouldn't a company read over it's name a few times? Everyone who works there is too tall and the entire facility smells like paint and drywall. Also one time I got stung by a bee there so that alone brings the review from a 5 to a 1. Very bad company. Take this place down please.
Went to the Griffin Home Depot and was very pleased with the help I got from the pro department. Kimberly at the pro was very helpful and a great personality. Will definitely be going back to the store.
