My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
If I can give a negative score I would. Home Depot would not honor their original quote. Also, dishonest countertop fabricator - Plamar USA Kitchen Countertop - subcontractor of Home Depot.
Does not honor the original quote which we paid in full before the measurement appointment. My final quote was over 280% of the original quote.
No changes to the material and no changes to the original quote other than a selection of the edge style which I chose as "eased edge", which for other fabricator is not an additional charge. All drawings were provided by my contractor with measurements including waterfall, sink location, stove location, and holes needed for the faucet, air vent, etc.
The measurement appointment was one month later and then the final quote was provided. I nearly fainted when I saw the final quote. They not only wasted my time but they also took full payment and now telling me it's going to take 2-4 weeks to get a refund.
Worst credit card company ever. I recently moved and lost my Home Depot credit card. When I called them to update my address and close my account they gave me nonsense answers and we kept going around the circle. They said they only can verify my identity by the address and phone number in the account. Well, my address and number is changed, so they said there is no other way to reach me and solve my problem. Every other organization in the US can send you either text via phone or your email but not this company. They only use texting to your phone. I never deal with these people and you shouldn't either.
The prices are reasonable, sometimes very good. Their policies are excellent. Their customer support is excellent. Only issues: The local store does not stock parts and construction items as well as Lowes does. If HD has it in stock and prices is competive, I have reason to buy elsewhere.
Do not buy from Home Depot if you want a discount match with Menards because they will not honor it. Thy made changes to the program and did not notify ProReward members! Menards gives a 11% rebate on all items and Home Depot will not honor it. The management need to be fired! This is a poor program and the Preferred pricing is a joke. 3-5% off.
Tip for consumers:
Spent $15,000 on materials for a deck and they will not honor the Menards discount. Should have gone to Menards and saved a whole lot more. What a joke!

I hired Home Depot to install a new fence. Their contactor came out and showed me 2 wood samples. I chose the thicker, smoother, more expensive wood. However, when the contractor was done, I discovered that he had used the less expensive wood (but charged me for the more expensive wood). I went round and round with Home Depot management and the contractor. A HD rep came to my house to look at the fence. I asked him to bring the 2 wood samples that the contractor showed me, so I could show him how my fence compared to the samples. But, the contractor gave him a different sample (I know because the samples the contractor showed me were hooked together with a chain. The single sample that the HD rep brought had no hole, and there was only 1). I have their credit card, but once I paid off the fence, I never charged another item to it. They just lost a customer for life.
Kitchen floor scratched
We ordered a fridge in July and we requested protection pads to protect the hardwood before delivery. Upon delivery, the delivery guys said that the wheels of the cart was rubber and it would not scratch the floor. Lo and behold, the hardwood in front of the fridge was all scratched.
Unfortunately, we trusted the delivery guys and we only examined the fridge and did not examine the floor. We signed the document thinking it was for the fridge.
The next day we realized that the floor was scratched. We went through the claim process and our claim was declined. It was due to we signed that document (without realized that there was some words about premises non-damage.
Home Depot (and the document it sent) and the delivery guys never mentioned about examining the property. We were just trapped. It was partly our fault that we didn't read the delivery guys' document before we signed. But we never trust Home Depot again.

My craftsman 8" Pole saw bar became bent and I could not find any bars to fit it. I ordered one and it was not the matching one and no one seemed to have one. I decided to go and purchase a new Pole saw attachment and found the RYOBI one which seemed better and was a 10". As I came home and started to use it, the motor base I was using gave out and had to purchase a new one. I went out and bought the RYOBI one as well. Both machines did a terrific job for me and am very happy I decided to make this purchase

Do not, I repeat DO NOT order online from Home Depot. They take your payment and do not ship your order. When you call customer service, they do not have a clue. Even speaking with a supervisor is a waste of time because they know nothing.
I recently ordered a video doorbell from Home Depot.com. It was ordered toward the end of November, with a December 6 delivery date. I am very disappointed in the service that I have gotten lately at Home Depot. I have changed my purchasing preferences to Lowe's, even though it is further away from my home.
My understanding is that Home Depot partnered with On Trac for delivery of their packages. On Trac currently has an approval rating of 1.0 out of 5. It is depressing to me, as a consumer, that a business would choose a delivery company with a low rating. The primary reason that it's not lower, I believe, is that the lowest number you can put in is a 1. I do believe they would still get a one if the system was a rating between one and 100.
Ordered an item on line and was told it would take almost two weeks for it to be delivered to the store for pick up. That was bad enough, but when the item was delivered to the store I went to pick it up and was told it was not there. I re-checked the order status and it said the item WAS there. It then said it would take an additional six days for it to be ready to pickup. Could there possibly be an worst customer service. I know I will never buy anything from Home Depot.com again.
We purchased a dryer at Tigard, OR Home Depot including delivery and installation. It came today, 11/14/2019. First of all, they didn't call a half an hour before coming as promised. Then they installed the dryer with 11 inch from its back to the wall. They said it is because the aluminum vent that came with the dryer is too long. I asked to cut it to size and move closer to the wall. They said they don't have metal cutting (?) tools. They suggested to purchase a flexible vent and do it myself or call somebody else. I let the "installers" go, cut the vent with a bread knife and wire clippers, and reinstalled myself. Everything took may be 10 minutes. They guys were useless.
This is the most profitable company in history of the world look it up. Not because they're good because they destroy everything like Walmart and kills every business they can and if they can't kill it they buy it like Orchard Supply and kill it.
I have used Home Depot's ship-to-store online purchase option several times, and I have been pleased each time. The local store staff is friendly and helpful, and I enjoy shopping at the store and online.
Bought a stove 20 Sept. Told delivery would be Oct. 7. On the 6th get a call stating stove didnt arrive to wharehouse cant deliver to Nov 7. Decided to pick out different stove delivery scheduled for Oct 12 day arrives get called stating driver would be here in 30 min. I went to appointment driver shows up son answers door. Driver tells son he needs someone 18 yrs old to sign papers then leaves without find out I had an 18 yrs old at home home. Next morning I went to home depot to get refund told me I'd have to wait 3 days till delivery put order back in system. Then said they would refund still would take 3 days to show up in bank account. I paid the majority in cash. Finally after talking to manager got my full refund. Never again will I shop home depot for appliances again
I love their website better than their store, just because the store is big and I don't always even have the words for what I want, since I'm new to the home improvement world. Which makes me reluctant to ask for help, but when I have asked for help, they have been very friendly and helpful. The website though allows me to search and they ship stuff that isn't at my local store to my home and they ship big stuff that won't fit in my car to my home. Very nice.

Website is better and better, yet their stores look the same as they did 10 years ago. They always come through but how about you update the look of the stores and offer more of the online stuff in the stores.

I had a dishwasher installed in August 2021. Later I had my countertops replaced. When the sink was placed, the plumber told me that the footboard was not screwed in and showed me he could remove it with his fingers. He asked me if I had the screws for this part and I reported that I did not. Then he proceeded to let me know that if the sink floods it will go into the dishwasher contaminating the dishwasher making useless.
I was on hold for over an hour, and they said this it not an installation issue but due to use. What the heck? The installation was contracted through Home Depot.
We ordered a compressor and cancelled before it was shipped. Jan 21st waiting for our $1440 back. No refund now paying interest on that money. Now Feb 8th get a notice that it has been shipped. Called again and still no money Back.
Very very unhappy with this we are pensioners and now it's costing us money and inconvenience.
