My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
It doesn't matter in which store you are (here in Queens, NY), 95% of the HD's employees -in any Queens store- are there TO NOT HELP YOU. After the ordeal to get help (if lucky) to find what you're looking for, people on the registers are like the worst DMV office you can be in. Slow, clumsy, talking among them ignoring and NOT respecting the customer's time at all. A quite DEPLORABLE store to be honest.
Hate home Depot.com. So many mistakes and calls, Our store, opposite Lowes is way to busy and you need 2 weeks in Hawaii after a visit. Lowes is empty and people are very nice.
Bad Company. Refused to cover medical bills >$2,000 when a cart in their store rammed into my husband. Are suing us even though we are on Chapter 7 bankrupty.
I placed a order online thinking it would be a safe and fast way to shop. Well I certainly was wrong about that! My order was for two sets of chisels and a small set of saw blades. The order was shipped out from three different places at three different times and the third order never arrived at all! In fact it was delivered to the wrong address which I found out later. The online people said they're going to refund my money and I'll go else where. Infact my shopping experience in the store was even worse then the online one. Someone at the store tried to pick a fight with me which was unprovoked by me. I had to ask another store employee to safely escort me to my vehicle. I reported the incident twice to Home Depot corporate with no results! When the local Home Depot store Manager did finally learn of the incident he provided little to no results at all. Customer safety and satisfaction at Home Depot is zero to these people! In the future Lowes will continue to get more of my business! I already had Lowes install three new doors using a local professional contractor and they did a great job. While you can't even walk in to a Home Depot safely without getting attacked and good luck getting any help
Another antiquated business that needs you to create yet another marginal internet account instead of using top-level single sign on SSO providers e.g. Google, Facebook
Home depot has decent instore service however shipping and delivery is the worst I have ever experienced. I orded new appliances all came on different dates and not even the right date or time they scheduled also always dented on transportation with no packing or corner guards. I ordered a small bracket that was over 2 weeks late and everytime same excuse it's not are fault we use an outside company for that. So apparently according to them as long you use and outside company you have no responsibility to your customers. GREAT BUSINESS MODEL ITS MY FAULT IT WAS THE OTHER GUY
Tip for consumers:
Don't order off home depot
I ordered a high amount of flooring from home depot. Two boxes were stolen or not delivered, I have been calling home depot customer service for a month and no one has helped. They keep transferring me to the wrong store or hanging up! I WILLL NEVER EVER EVER BUY from home depot AGAIN! I have spent so much money here and to be treated like this is a disgusting! Not to mention I ordered a door it arrived broken and again, no one has bothered to help!
Tip for consumers:

I recieved the worst customer service resolution today from home depot. Unimaginable he told me off literally to x and leave a review rather than looking for ways to resolve the problem.

Many times without aving a good memory, then going on where THEY call A WEBSITE making scribble notes of what I'm seeing, NOT understanding one darn thing, I decide to print it, walk down to my local and READ enjoying lager at the same time. Why not, the walk does you good.
I have remodeled 2 houses so far and my choice of store for purchasing materials is home depot. The best department is electrical. A huge variety of quality products.
Home Depot website is my go-to place when researching any household products, from flooring and paint, to lighting and gardening tools. Terrific variety of products, easy to compare pricing.
Store is ok but have not had much help from some of the employees, they had no idea of the produces in their departments, and need an attitude adjustment
My husband who has been a general contractor for 40 years, got in the contractor line (to enter the store) around Easter this year. Some lower-middle-management guy named Frank (who refused to give us his full name) demanded a pro rewards card from my husband in order to stay in line. When my husband told him that he never uses a card, but always provideS his phone number, Frank told him that it would "take quite awhile to verify that" and he would have to just wait. My husband, who still works fulltime as a general contractor, has a ruined ankle which causes him to limp badly enough that he has been given a permanent disabled parking placard. Despite both our protests and attempts to reason with Frank, he insisted that my husband wait in the general entry line (which was much longer). What an abuse of power by this rude little man, who displayed the behavior of a true bully! My husband and I were both furious at this point, and left. My husband told him we would be following up with a complaint; however, every time we called the store, we reached "Frank", who told always said that the general manager wasn't in. Thus, this negative review online. Except for Frank, our experience at Home Depot is generally decent to very good. But one run in with someone like him is Something that any customer would remember for a very long while.

None, that day. We left and went to a different Home Depot. But we generally buy items in every department and a very happy with most of our purchases.
Run as far away as possible from the Home Depot appliances! They do not have a service department but do not tell you that at the time of purchase.
I purchased their " Best Rated" dishwasher by Maytag. It lasted 8 months! After calling Maytag as instructed I was told I would have to find someone to service it myself and submit a quote to them to be approved before repairs could be done. There is no one in our 50 mile radius that repairs what they don't sell. After 6 weeks of back and forth they replaced the dishwasher. The new one is 13 months old and is not working. We bought the extended warranty and are now going through the same go around. Received an email this morning telling me I need to find a service person and submit a quote. The woman on the phone with the warranty company told me she couldn't find anyone to service but they had "people" to find a service person in my area. THERE ARE NO service people! Long story short... I will Never buy another appliance from Home Depot. If you have bought an appliance and didn't buy the extended warranty which is $84.00 with tax and your appliance stops working after 1 year and a day you may as well throw it away and buy another one. Let the battle begin!,
Tip for consumers:
Run, do not buy appliances from Home Depot!

You Don't Get What You Pay For
Warning: Home Depot charges more than twice as much money for the same, exact product! The company's Merritt Island, FL store quoted me $16,200.00 for 9 PGT-brand impact-resistant windows that I am now purchasing from a legitimate, state-licensed and certified window contractor for just over $7,000.00. Plus, my qualified, family-owned contractor is replacing a narrow picture window that Home Depot's rude and unqualified in-home sales representative claimed could not be acquired from PGT, or any other vendor. (He was too lazy to call the manufacturer.)
By the way, Sears quoted over $13,000.00 for the same job.
Moral: Avoid Big Box Retailers masquerading as legitimate home improvement contractors. They will charge you double, then turn around and sub-contract the work to some who-knows-who installer. If Home Depot's sales reps are so poorly trained, and the company is so greedy that it marks up its jobs over 100%, imagine who they will send out to do the installation.
Get informed: Take 2-3 bids from local, licensed window and home improvement contractors. Support your local, independent and certified home improvement providers, not greedy corporate behemoths looking to increase their stock values on the backs of unsuspecting homeowners.
After a terrible experience with a Lowe's order, I cancelled with them and called Home Depot. I placed the same order for 4 expensive appliances, got the exact same price (within a dollar), and they honored the 10% off Lowes coupon I had as a price match. The rep on the phone couldn't have been more helpful, and the process was smooth with no hiccups. Lowe's and Home Depot are NOT the same, as I previously thought!
Be it in store or online, I love homdepot. I had purchased many times and never dissatisfied. For some arras I feel that they need to carry more varieties. But otherwise it is good.
The Home Depot has been our go to home improvement store and we have had good experiences. However, please know that renting tools there is a terrible idea.
I went online and made a reservation for an aerator. I went online and saw the only availability was on Sunday, so I rented one for 4 hours (2-6) and paid a $150 deductible. I got my lawn and my neighbors lawn ready to be serviced only to get an email that my reservation had been canceled about 1.5 hours before my rental time.
After 15 minutes of getting the run around because nobody would pick up the phone in rentals, I called the store manager. She was polite but informed me that this is a busy time of year (which is why I made a reservation) and they defer to in-store customers for their rentals. Basically, I was out of luck.
When I called corporate headquarters to relay my concerns, the gentleman was polite but said he noticed that this has been happening in other stores but really didn't seem to care very much about the problem. He told me he would relay my concerns but he didn't seem very invested in my concern.
In addition to canceling my reservation, they kept my $150. When my wife called, they did not have record of the transaction. I will say they called me back and said we should be refunded by Thursday (4 days after it was deducted).
While I recommend Home Depot for most anything else, I would stay very clear of their rental department if you plan on making a "reservation".

Home Depot Does Not Support Equality In The Work Force. I Tried to Get A Job There And They Told Me I Was Over Qualified. So What, If I Want And Need A Job. I Feel That This Is Discrimination.
On The Other Hand They Have A Lot Of Professionals In For Example Electrical To Ask Questions And They Are Up And UP With There Stock.
Top quality service. Whenever I visit Home Depot, the sales reps always ensure I know where to look and help me out with basic questions on the various projects that I do.
I ordered several Aerogarden Pods because they do not sell them in-store. No one sells hardly anything in-store anymore. I could have ordered them straight from Aerogarden which by the way was half the price but thought Home Depot was more efficient. That was a joke! Home Depot sends me a UPS notification saying my order is on its way. I was having it delivered to the Mesa, Arizona Store to be picked up. I noticed the order was delivered to an incorrect store and back to the intended store and back to the incorrect store. This should be of no concern to me since I only care about the final destination. I waited a while and saw that the order sat idle and did not arrive at the Home Depot on the expected day. Instead of Home Depot contacting me I had to jump through hoops speaking to 6 different people who did nothing! Finally one manager cancelled my order and told me if I re-order it would be quicker. Well he was wrong too. I now have to cancel that order as well since it is late for the Holidays. I ordered 2 weeks in advance and wasted my time. All I wanted for Christmas was to grow tomatoes and Home Depot ruined that.

Very satisfied with customer service, with the help on the floor and the person that helped to put our purchase in the van, but absolutely frustrated with the people working in the rental area, we were there on Sunday morning, we paid for our sink and vanity to pick up on Monday morning after booking the van with the rental area, which required 24 hours for the booking, the person working there could not get in the system, he said he would leave a note for the other people in the morning. When we went on Monday morning there was no van reservation, we mentioned the note from the other guy, the guy on Monday said it was not valid and to reserve the van it had to be done on line only, after arguing for a while, he went to ask someone and finally he gave us the van.
When we returned the van, I asked him why they didn't have a sign specifying the booking had to be on line only, then, he contradicted himself saying it could be done in the store 24 hours before also, which is what we had done to begin with, after that he just went around and around with one twist after another.
My complaint is that they don't know how to use the system and they get confused with bookings online and booking in the store. In the meantime if we would have not gotten the van, we would have had to pay the plumber for nothing, because he was coming that same morning with nothing to install. The store was 5125 126 ave.
Thank you
Not sure whether or not the Home Depot wants to honor the military with the 10% discount because they seem to make it more and more difficult to get it. Now you have to download some stupid app and login and then scan some pdf 417 barcode on your phone which is just idiotic and ends up taking up more time at the check out. Home Depot get a grip and make it better for military folks and not more difficult just to get the 10% discount, unless you really don't want to honor the people who put their lives on the line so that you can enjoy the FREEDOM and LIBERTY the military has protected during this life time...
