My husband and I decided after many years our pre-lit Christmas tree needed to be retired. We went tree shopping and found a great tree. It looks and feels like the real deal.
I was in home depot for 30 min before someone could help me. No one on the isles anymore, and it's all self checkout. What happened? It has gone so far down hill. Plants are SO over priced. Guess I'm moving over to Lowes.
Why did you guys sell my personal contact information to an HVAC company when I bought a dishwasher?
Even better, why am I getting emails and texts from them about the HVAC appointment that I NEVER made? EVEN BETTER, the company and info. In the email and texts doesn't even exist anymore, but has been bought by Goettl Air.
NEVER buying another product from Home Depot or using Goettl for my HVAC service.
This is an unacceptable intrusion.
Customers beware, they will make you their whore.
They never answer the phone and always have an excuse they are shot-staffed. Every time we have to call they either cut us off after we are in queue for 15 to 20 min, Last week we called to inquire regarding our composite order, first of all, we were in the queue for 20 mins and was cut off, then when we called back again had to wait for another 17 mins before someone picked up, the girl who picked up was so rude would not take any information just said you have to wait for 2 weeks, just wanted us to hang up finally after insisting several times she took the info and told us is the wrong information when we asked for her name conveniently she could not hear us we repeated it several times and she just pretended she could not hear and hand up. We tried to call back and they would pick up and disconnect. Then I had my wife call from another phone and conveniently it was answered by the same person, my wife said she was calling to check on an order and asked the girl for her name, she did not have any issues hearing now and said she was Sara, My wife told her that I had called earlier and she was rude and hung up she tried to deny it, but we told her we recognize the voice and would definitely give a review about it. This is not the first time we have experienced such service from Home Depot and definitely will not be the last, so we will be patronizing their competition going forward.

Don't use Home Depot their service is terrible

It is the worst in whole world. We bought a washer and dryer on home depot website.
The promise of delivery is on Wednesday 12th.
The deliverer said that there is your dryer but no washer. So you have to call home depot.
We called, home depot said
"I will look it up and call you."
It's Wednesday.
Never call!
So we again call Thursday.
The operater, she's names Raby, she same said again. Ofcourse never get call.
We called again, we talked to the manager on Friday.
Manager is ""I will look it up and call you."
Yes, there is no call.
WTF!
Refund it if lost.
We are furious.
I bought recently cans of paint from Home Depot real stores (not online website) in Montreal to paint my renovated bathroom and my living room and I saw the exact same cans in Reno Depot that was in front of the Home Depot store and it was something like 5$- 10$ less expensive in their store. I don't know if there are other Depot stores for painting in Montreal, but I would definitely recommend this store because of its good service and it lower prices!
Decided to give the Depot another try in August of 2021. We Special Ordered a new entry door for our house, and it wasn't cheap. Six weeks later, we were notified to pick up our door, so we did. When we got it home and removed all the packaging, we realized they had sent us the wrong door all the way from Canada! We paid for a Right Hand Inswing door, but we got a Left Hand Inswing door, and that won't work in our house! This has wrecked our plans to replace our old door, keep our carpenter on his hurried schedule and get this over with before winter!
When I called the store to notify them of the grave mistake, I received lip service from the customer service representative. She was very mean to us, and treated us like we were too dumb to even order a door. She insinuated that we were the ones at fault, and belittled us. I won't be treated this way by ANY company, especially not Home Depot! We gave them a chance earlier this year when we purchased a new dryer, and their delivery crew damaged our new Anderson sliding patio door. We filed claims and went through months of emails only to be denied restitution for the damages done by their drivers! This one is the final straw! We will cancel our credit card with Home Depot and we'll never enter bother ourselves with another purchase there again!
Tip for consumers:
That we would be treated like common idiots.

Home Depot took over the home improvement business from local stores - forcing them out of business and literally buying their buildings to convert into "Home Depots". At first, they offered good selection and lower prices. But once the local stores were out of business, Home Depot slacked off.
Now, the selection of products is little different than what you can get at the other national chain - Lowes - and probably a little higher priced. And if they don't have it, there is nowhere else to go - they have driven all the competition away.
They have a good return policy, which is very important and well used - the lines at the return counter are just as long as new sales. But just like Lowes, they only stock the mass-produced items, and only support those products with parts and accessories. In most cases, you can get better products at lower prices by going to the right supply house - i. E., Plumbing Supply, Electrical Supply, Lumber yard, Building Supply. There is something to be said for the convenience of having all these things in one place, but you must dig through the lumber to find a straight piece, and make do with whatever fittings you can find to meet your electrical or plumbing needs.
The best section is the garden shop in my opinion, where you can get plants well suited to your area at decent prices compared to local nurseries. But if you want anything out of the ordinary, you'll be out of luck.
We've had bad experience with blinds at home Depot. We purchased faux wood Bali blinds from here. While installer was installing he realised that they had sent the wrong wand and wrong valances. We made so many calls to the store and some in person trips to the store to finally get the stuff after 4 months or so.
Now we have a problem with the blind again, their inspection guy came and said that two of the things were broken and needed to be ordered. It again took 3 months after calling several times for the parts to arrive and now no one is coming to install it. Called up the home depot store and they said that we should call the installer directly. Spoke to the installer and they said that we don't have to call them, home depot has to open up the case again. We are just going back and forth. It is so frustrating. Finally the installer said that they will contact the home Depot and then make an appointment but haven't heard anything yet. We are done with the blinds from Home Depot. It has been the worst experience ever.
If you don't read anything after this line - please DO NOT order from Home Depot. Still waiting on a washer/dryer, 3 weeks after purchase with 3 excuses as to "why". INCLUDING THAT THEY WERE TOO BUSY TO MAKE OUR DELIVERY AFTER THEY TYPED IN THE WRONG ADDRESS INTO THEIR GPS. (Keep in mind the GPS told them the correct address and they disregarded it and told us that over the phone.)
Tip for consumers:
Please do not order from Home Depot

Corporate. BS. Bought $6000 worth of carpet Chesterfield Michigan store 6 months ago.
We moved all of the furniture off carpet for installation. Carpet installed after 6 days of tour house a mess and one installer being there. Moved all of the furniture back. Carpet was defective. Chose a totally different product. Moved all of the furniture AGAIN. Installers came. I asked them to roll it out make sure this was not defective. They
Said it was. Sent the carpet back. The installers told the installation
Place IAS that I said it was the wrong color. This was a lie. Then tried to say it was because of the language barrier. I speak no other language but English they did not. Not my problem they have workers that can not speak or understand English. So house still tore up they finally come back to install 4 days later with the same roll and it was not defective. Finally installed. Moved all the furniture back AGAIN.
Called the store and the only thing they want to compensate me with on this over $6000 purchase is a gift card. WTH? I said I want money off of the $600 dollar Home Depot credit card I just opened up for this purchase. All of a sudden they wont talk to me now that the job is done. Called corporate and Chesterfield Michigan store manager and still have heard nothing.
I purchased a new dishwasher from HD and it was delivered last Friday morning early; however it was missing a water connection kit. The third party installers were great and very polite. They informed me what was missing, gave me information to text or call HD, said they had spoken with their contact person with HD so they knew what was needed. Before noon I texted endlessly with someone that said they had the information needed and that someone would be back with be before the end of the day. Monday I texted again. None knew about my problem. Again, texted endlessly, person said they would be on it. This morning I texted again. Was told I needed to contact Whirlpool with the serial number and they would take it from there. This person also said call early in the day because I'll be on hold a long time. Now I wonder what is HD's role in this purchase transaction; I suppose they made a profit off of the sale, however they cut me loose to deal with this myself. My rating for their customer service on a scale from 1 to 10 is minus 3.
Tip for consumers:
Purchase your appliances that must be delivered and installed by retailer from anyone other than Home Depot.

After having my delivery date rescheduled twice, the installers failed to install and haul away my gas range. After paying separately to have the gas company install the range, it turns out that it was damaged in the box. However, since 48 hours had passed Home Depot refused to help me. DO NOT BUY ITEMS FROM HOME DEPOT FOR DELIVERY.

I am waiting over 15 days for my refrigerator to get repaired using Home Depot warranty service, which is contracted out to AA & E FACTORY SERVICE through Asurion. Imagine 1/2 month of malfunctioning refrigerator.
Purchased an expensive LG French door refrig and warranty from Home Depot. Here's how your warranty will work if refrigerator is malfunctioning. 1 call for repair. 2. Schedule repair man arrives 3 days later 9/29/16 and tries to get refrig working. Orders necessary parts to repair compressor. 3. DOES NOT HAVE REPAIR PARTS SHIPPED OVERNIGHT, OR EXPRESS SO PARTS ARRIVE 10/7/16,8 days later. 4. WILL NOT SCHEDULE SECOND REPAIR VISIT UNTIL PARTS ARRIVE. Malfunctioning refrig scheduled for return repairman 10/13/16.5. Try asking to speak to supervisor from repair company and of course the supervisor is in Columbia.
Tip for consumers:
If your refrigerator needs repair, insist that parts be overnight express mailed.
Asurion corporate number *******639 but not there on weekends.
I purchased a snow blower on line using the Home Depot system and had a customer service man at the store in Omaha on L street assist me with the purchase. They sent the snow blower to FLORIDA. TO FLORIDA. NO SNOW IN FLORIDA. It took 2 weeks to get my money back. Total incompetence.
Go to Lowes.
Could not return items left over from my house renovation. I spent over $60,000 in this Home Depot. When I had items left over I wanted to return them. I will NOT keep 100 receipts or more and dig through them so i just took the left over items for a return. They denied my return as TRE reported a suspicious return. Read all about the TRE as many people have been denied as I was. Funny thing is that I ordered several special order sliding doors for about $10,000. One was returned as it was not made according to the building code so the city inspector rejected it. Well they returned 2 orders to my card by mistake. I received a call the next day from Home depot asking me to come in and pay again for a door that they returned money to my credit card. Their return process takes 7 business days so they wanted me to pay again from my own money before I received a refund. I did not realize they made a mistake, but after looking at the return receipt i verified they did. Well, I am honest so I went to Home Depot and returned $1,800. Again that is before even I got the return on my credit card. Now I was denied a return for a total of $404.00? Stupid me... Should have never returned anything to them. I will never shop in Home Depot again and I will tell all my friends how home depot treated my for my honesty and for me spending there over $60,000. I will be a Lowe's customer from now on and my foot will never enter Home Depot again. Stay away from this business as they DO NOT appreciate you at all!
Ordered a stove online. The total NOT SUBTOTAL said 471.06. I took a picture to ask my husband if he wanted this stove. Thank god I did. I hit order. It said, thank you for your order of 509.92! It was the first I saw that total! I didn't agree to this total, so I went online to cancel. No way to cancel. I texted them to a number that you can text them at. No response. I called them, I was on hold for 10 minutes, then transferred and was given a rep that said I was a liar basically even after I told him I had a picture of it! He said, "Thats not what we have on OUR end". I told him he can either give me the stove to the price I agreed or cancel the whole order. Instead of giving me any reconciliation, he cancelled the order and now I have to wait 5 days for my money to return without even an apology just an insult! I was shopping at home depot almost everyday, I just bought a house in need of 100,000 in repairs, and now I will make SURE I shop ANYWHERE but here. Hope that was worth your 39 bucks HOMEDEPOT! 21 minutes of wasted time on the phone, an insult, and 5 days without my money. Nope, never again!
On August 2021 I went to home depot store # 3913 and placed order. I picked up some carpet, pads, timber etc. They offered delivery the next day for a price of 79.00 ( total order of 599.54).
Since I did not get a call the next day as scheduled I went to the carpet department. Delilah who claim she is the manager word unsuccessfully to locate to order. The custom carpet was still on the floor and she did not know what is going on. I said that is not a good answer and I want to talk to "the manager". She said f I don't have any time to help you. I am off work and she left. I went to another manager Jorge who was very kind and he introduced me to Joshua Bentley who in the beginning had no time to discuss the issue. According to Mr. Bentley the manager of the famous money sucking home depot the order is being fulfilled at another store #3903. After an hour of argument I had to go to the store #3903. At last they located the order (wrong phone # they said).
In short spend your money, argue and make your life miserable at you nearest HOME DEPOT. You have no choice and you don't get any apology. Stock is at all time high. Thanks true story
Home Depot used to be my favorite store. I even worked at one in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Funny thing is, the rot has just grown. Now, as a customer, I am being told that "all managers are in a meeting", and all associates are trained in "other" areas, so all they can do is tell me to find a manager (and there never is one). I took $3000 cash with me today...third day in a row when I go to store just to be ignored and referred to another person. I ended up buying cheap vinyl vertical blinds, just to keep me happy until I now go to Lowe's to get help with 3 ceiling fans, 2 bathroom fan/lights, and window treatments for 5 rooms. I am now waiting for call back from "main manager" after a call with corporate, but I don't even "buy" your stories and lies. Why am I going to buy your $#*!ty, unwarrantied crap? I guess I need to finally go meet LOWES. I am also contacting LOWES with this same Home Depot complaint. I certainly had 3 crappy days in a row with you, now I am just done with you. You suck.
Tip for consumers:
I know things have changed since what is called "covid", but really, Home Depot....are any of you employees high school or college educated? Do they know ANYthing about your store, other than to keep the managers "hidden"? When I worked at Santa Fe, NM, Home Depot, we were all told to say "managers are in a conference or meeting". At least you are consistent, I give you that. But I don't need consistency, I need help purchasing your products!!!!! Please watch Simon Sinek before you die as a CORP

I ended up buying cheapest stuff I could get without assistance, and deciding to improve my home at either Ace Hardware or Lowes. At least you have been a stable company, meaning no improvements geared towards customers AT ALL COST!!
Do not buy this mulch. That is two dollars a bag. The reason it is marked down so much is because it is mostly sticks. The smell is the worst I have ever smelled. Beware!
I ordered a new sink, garbage disposal and faucet. The sink arrived broken in half. I also inquired about having them install my purchases. I got different prices every time I spoke with someone else! I ordered a replacement online and the system lost my order. I had to call the store to make them order it. I called the store multiple times to find out the status of my delivery and installation. Then I get a call that the sink was on back order for six months. I returned everything and eventually got a credit after making 2 payments on the un-installed purchases. Then, this month I changed a payment source online so my card payments would come out of a different checking account. No surprise but the system pulled from the original payment source with Home Depot taking no responsibility nor having a clue what caused the systematic issue. I made the change a full 7 days prior to the next payment due date. I submitted screen shots to validate my claims but never heard back from anyone. I called and spoke with a supervisor (Laura) on the phone today during my second call about this issue. Not even an apology and I got hung up on. Crappy, sub-par customer services and undependable systems to boot. Thanks Home Depot!
Went to return a broken husky socket (purch about 8 months ago) which clearly has 'Lifetime Warranty' on the packaging. The Cust serv rep says "you MUST call the husky cust service number and send it back to them. Called them, they said "NO, the store will replace it free of charge". Went back to another depot store; same idiotic argument. Called their cust service a few times, always leaving a message; NEVER got a return call. BUY CRAFTSMAN! THEY ALWAYS STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS!
Usually convenient with occasional problems; I have ordered items online, paid, received confirmations, only to later get a phone call from the local store saying they don't and won't have what I paid for. Very frustrating. Not nearly as well organizrd as they want you to think they are. Many times you are just better off dealing with your local hardware store, especially if you know the staff.
I went into store in McKinney and made my purchase on 9/1. It took over a week for someone to contact me and let me know the color I chose is not available at this time. I picked a new color and paid the extra money for an upgraded carpet. I was told my carpet would be shipped within 48hrs. The install company (Cooper Flooring) has now had my carpet for 6 days and has yet to contact me (they are supposed to contact within 5 days to schedule). I called Home Depot who gave me the # to contact Cooper directly and they said they sent an email telling them to schedule ASAP. After speaking with 3 different people today and being put on hold for at least 20min with 1 individual, I am told that the soonest they can install is October 21st. I am so disappointed in this process and it feels like once HD has your money, they just step away. Cooper flooring was not very pleasant to deal with and had I known it would be almost 2 months before I would have carpet, I would have just made the purchase and picked the carpet up at the store and hired someone independently.
Tip for consumers:
That once Home Depot places your order, they no longer deal with the install company they use to help you with any issues.

I purchased a patio set with HomeDepot.com and paid with my Home Depot credit card. The set did not arrive on the scheduled date, and no additional information was provided. On July 1st, I found another set and cancelled my order online, promptly receiving an email confirming my cancellation. I was told a refund would be applied back to my Home Depot card, however, to date this refund has not been applied. I was first told it would take 72 hours which did not happen. Today I spend over one hour while at work getting several different dates when the refund would be applied, got disconnected by a supervisor, tried to speak to another supervisor who sound like I woke him from sleep. Did contact another supervisor who again said that the monies are pending because they need confirmation of the cancellation. I again gave her the cancellation number I was given via email and again am being told it will take another 72 hours! This is unaccepable. We are talking about $537.49 being applied back to my account and no one can provide me with an acceptable answer as to why this has not happened. I will never do business with this store again.
Home Depot CEO and the sales and install managers agree both verbal and written (sales contract/building permit) documentation exists specifying that those two large half-round windows will be wrapped in white vinyl, but Home Depot refuses to do the work because their salesman "mis-spoke," and the Home Depot won't honor the contract. If I contract the work with another service provider, Home Depot won't honor the warranties for those two windows because the work was not performed by a trained Home Depot crew. The requirement to wrap these specific windows was a focal point of the sales pitch as both windows were replaced in the past due to moisture problems and wrapping was touted as the ultimate solution. I've been negotiating for nearly six months and have developed management approved action plans, but no progress has been made at the local or exec levels. The only response I've received from the executive level is the return of the certified mail receipt signed for by the CEO's office. The install manager claims to speak for the CEO.
A legal remedy would not be realistic as North Carolina law requires the customer to pay legal fees even if the company is at fault. For this simple case, the legal fees would start at $2,000.
Two months ago I received a bill from HD that I was not sure were expenses I incurred. First, I went to their web site, signed in and tried to actually look at the specific expenses. The site kept asking me to link my Home Depot credit card with the Home Depot account. Yet it would not allow me to do this since it said I already had an account. And why, I ask, would I be the one linking these two parts of their system. Wouldn't my card already be linked?
Next I tried the automated customer service telephone system. It would give me my bill amount and allow me to pay but other services were buried in the automated system. After more than 30 minutes trying to get to a real person, I finally had someone on the line. When I said I wanted to speak to someone about the items on my bill they hung up!
Lastly, I wrote a letter with specifics of what my concern/question was and the process that had prompted me to write. I got a form letter back sending me to the same automated system that did not provide assistance.
I paid the bill because it was effecting my credit rating but that is the last of Home Depot for me.
Good prices and products, but not enough people to help. I usually know what I'm going in for, but not always and then I am left to hang. Lowes has better service but there isn't one near me.
